I’ve been eating at this restaurant for 13 years. Always great service and delicious, authentic food.

This used to be an amazing place with great food. We ate there last night and the food was not good. Tacos were wilted and soggy and the chicken tasted really off. We ended up tossing most of it out. I’m really hoping it was just a one off.

I checked this place out for the first time because I'm planning to buy something different for a superbowl party. I got one chicken soft taco. Seemingly so simple, yet easy to mess up, and sublime if done right. Okay, the filling was top notch and fabulous; an ample portion of very savory shredded chicken in a red sauce with sauteed onions and cilantro. The double street tortillas that were wrapped around it tasted like they were used right out of the package - raw, cold, dry, brittle and starchy. Soft corn tortillas need to be "cooked/warmed" in a little oil, or on a flat top, in an oven or microwave, and these were not, or not nearly sufficiently. Out of the two little containers of salsa that came with it - the red salsa was very good, but the green salsa container was "pooched" ( the lid was swollen upward) so that when I opened it, it popped or exploded - not a good sign, so I threw that one out. Since I was in the restaurant business for thirty years in Los Angeles, Houston, Chicago, and Atlanta, maybe like Gordon Ramsey, I can tell by one dish if the menu is a good one - in this case I can tell by one dish that the recipies are excellent, but the attention to detail needs to be improved to carry them out. If anyone wants to know the standard to aspire to in these parts, visit Mi Burrito on Lombard in North Portland; that hole in the wall is absolutely amazing! El Taco Express has some very serious good potential but needs a little tweaking in my estimation. PS - I've been back multiple times and I have to say that the first time I went there and then wrote the original review must have been a rare less than great day. Since then I've been wowed by the tastiness, portions, quality, and service. Excellente!

Accidentally sat there for twenty minutes after they closed without realizing it. The guy working didn’t say a word, just patiently waited for us, so sweet and I still for bad for making him wait to go home! I didn’t catch his name but he had longish hair and was so sweet!

The service is unquestionably good, when we are undecided they help us with the choice, the food is very typical and delicious, they have high chairs for small children, the atmosphere of the place is calm, the bathroom is very neglected but it does the job.

The food is so DELICIOUS. The taste is unbeatable and the size and price are incredible too! On top of that, the staff are such kind and cool people.

I had 2 burritos (one carnitas one bacon breakfast burrito) and 2 orders (of 2) tequitos for 20 bucks. The breakfast burrito was medium big (wolfed it down in one sitting and stomach hurt for a bit). It was pretty good. I saved the second for the boss and we split it and both of us were full. The tequitos were for theckids and just a snack but were very well received. They were double fried so extra crunchy. I look forward to the next bbb and trying something else next time.

The Burritos here have been extremely excellent for years and years, and time has not changed the quality or quantity. If you want good Mexican food with great pricing and impeccable quality, go here. Don't settle with other places that have a drive through, or a recognizable name. This little hole in the wall is not only fast, but it's top notch deliciousness.

It was good. I got the special, and my hubby got the asada burrito. The salsa was just dry tomatoes and onions, so that was weird. I think if I go back I will just get it to go, and then I can supply my own salsa.

My other source for Tacos and Stuff have been on Vacation, So I thought I would try this place out. And you know I am going to be a regular. They are busy but they were getting the food out. I had a Burrito Plate, A Very Large Burrito with Healthy Serving of Rice and Beans Has enough food for leftovers haha It was Excellent and the cost was 11 Dollars WOW They have Nachos, and Tacos, Tortas, Tostada, Taco Salads more Good Service, Clean Building Try it out sometime you wont be disappointed

Counter person friendly and courteous. The take out order was very quick however the food ordered sucked big time.the beef was dry tough and hard to swallow the flavor was funky .I threw most of it away after a few bites.the horchata was delicious.i was looking forward to a good burrito for days.i was very disappointed .I probably won't return again.the place was small and somewhat crowded. Parking wasn't a problem and free.

The Oregon burrito is great and I love they have al pastor. Great prices. I don’t like lengua myself but it’s a super food for dogs, and my pup was definitely happy! Unfortunately, my boyfriend said his quesadilla was good but the meat on it was way too greasy. “It tastes like they didn’t clean the grill yesterday or today” in his words. The customer service is good though. The dude at the front is really nice :)

A taco shop with amazing burgers?? That’s right!!! Go by and grab their cheeseburger combo… hot and fresh just how you like it with yummy fresh crinkle cut fries and a drink… There’s lots of variety including traditional tacos, burritos and more… Delicious flan is available in limited batches… get the fry sauce!! Portions are not small so go in hungry! Stop in for breakfast, lunch or dinner… the food is sure to please!!!

Definitely a nice hole in the wall if you know it’s there. I can see how it could be easily missed don’t let the boring exterior, and neglected interior deter you. The food is great, I actually really enjoy going there. They serve lengua which I personally enjoy. They have had it every time I order it, which I can’t say about all taco spots. It can be pretty hit or miss even if it is on the posted menu. They serve horchata flavored beverages which is okay but it’s definitely not genuine. The floor is always clean there, as well as the tables and counter from which you place your order. They have never messed up my order there either which is always nice. Really I just wish they would, put some love into their dining room. So they could be as proud of it as they are of their food. Who knows it might even attract new customers.

As I sat in my car and shove my face full of yummy chicken tacos , the cashier walked my wallet out to me . Nothing was missing . I had a mouth full saying thank you. I had no cash but I wish they get a raise .

Surprisingly amazing - the name is deceiving. No Ortega taco shells here - all homemade, cooked & flavored to perfection. They really deserve a better dine-in facility.

I love this place me and my girlfriend come here almost every day I get the beef bean and cheese burrito and she gets the bean and cheese burrito and they are both really good only problem with it is one time I asked for rice in my burrito and they forgot it which I’m still a little salty about but it’s still my favorite place 10/10

Hands down theee best Mexican food restaurant around here! Plus they have reasonable prices. My family and I get food from here at LEAST once a week. They are consistent and give decent portion sizes. Also the crew is super friendly.

I just had a chicken quesadilla and it was SO GOOD! The price was totally reasonable, compared to most places around here. The chicken was marinated and reminds me of Tijuana. Mmmmm. This has just become my favorite Mexican taco shop.

Great, authentic Mexican food for not too much money with fast and friendly service. I got steak and chicken fajita tacos with a Sidral, hubby got a carne asada taco, a carnitas taco and a beef, bean and cheese burrito (though they seemed to forget the cheese). The seating is not terribly comfy and the ambiance is not the reason to eat here. The food is still great and always a good staple.
