Great service and the food is super good. Will visit every time I am on Nogales!!!!

I've eaten some bad things in my time but El Zarape in is a new low. The service? A perfect mirror of the food: slow, indifferent, and nasty. The chips are stale, the salsa tasted like a rancid watery equivalent of tomato soup. Awful smelly tap water. The huevos rancheros were an overcooked mess accompanied with ultra small portion of diced tomatoes and canned beans. The tortillas were as tough as a pair of old work boots. The star of the show was the bistek ranchero. The meat, smelled old and rancid. I dared to try and piece of meat and confirmed the foul taste that would make a hyena gag. I complained to the waitress and have to say the only spicy thing I got during the meal was her attitude. If you are in Nogales and looking for authentic Mexican food, this place will keep coming up but avoid it. I dont understand why it has more than 3 stars. There are countless other better restaurants and taquerias across the border that are that deserve your hard-earned pesos.

Hadn't been there in awhile... Went for menudo. It was cold and the pansa was undercooked. Always loved it the other times I went, but this time was different. Flavor was good though... It would have been a lot better if it was hot. I'll still go back, hoping it's better next time

The place and the attention are good, the food does not seem to be Mexican, rather it is the American version

The food was good and the service was okay. If we are ever back in town we do plan on coming back and eating here again. The hotel recommended this place to us. Would recommend checking this place out and giving it a try!

Good service from the staff. The food was pretty good. I would say the prices are quite good but they can improve as well as the parking which is very limited and the atmosphere is family-friendly. Apart from everything mentioned above, it is a good place to take the family.

Fast and very pleasant service. Food was well prepared and quick. This is a popular place at noon and for good reason. Popular Mexican style cuisine. Parking is limited. So, come during off-peak hours, if you can.

Decent Mexican food at prices you can't beat!

I left the restaurant xtremly pleased. Service was great and food was some of the best I've had. I ordered a chico size bowl of menudo. Damn it was good. Everything I order had fantastic flavor and nice size portions. This was a great place for Mexican. Real Mexican ... It's a keeper!

El Zarape has had consistently great food for decades. If I'm in the area and craving a burrito, this I where I go. The parking lot is super small, if it's full you can park over at City Hall across the street.

Their tacos dorados are just hard shell tacos. Dorado taco should be crispy yet chewy tacos.

They didn't know what a gordita was, the 3 different beef plates were badly cooked; we found out it was a new owner not the parents but the son. We were there June 24, 2023.

Chilaquiles where soggy not crunchy they literally drowned the tortilla in sauce I don't think the cook actually tired to fry the tortilla the egg was not cooked all the way

It's a Nogales staple. I usually go for the Comida Corrida, but everything is good.

Food was terrible. Had machacca and eggs and asked for toast instead of tortilla. It was cold and tasted like it was grilled with oil not butter. Asked for milk, didn't have it, asked for O.J. didn't have any, ended getting jamica, worst I've ever had. Service sucked, didn't come back to check on anything, dropped off the food and receipt and never saw her again.

Enjoyed the combination plate with cheese enchilada, chicken taco, and Chile relleno which were excellent. Unfortunately the same can not be safe of the rice and beans.

I ordered Chicken enchiladas. Must say the food was just warm so I’m assuming it’s premade and heated in microwave. The other order was two carne asada tacos. Plenty of meat! Both meals came with rice and beans. The meal had a bowl of soup which had a nice spiciness to it. Compared to what we have had in Puerto Peñasco it was ok.

The food was not even close to be called Mexican. The enchilada was stuffed with shredded beef could even cut it. No tea, no beer on the menu….just a bad choice. I should have gone to prior restaurant that I ate before, bad, bad service. I have to be honest.

Tratan de hacer la comida estilo mexicano pero realmente no alcanzan su sabor ni presentación. Pedí una combinación de chimichanga, gordita y quesadilla, la carne de res parece machaca en vez de carne desebrada, la gordita parecía un batido extraño, la salsa usada para el baño parecía y sabía solo puré de tomate de lata, la chimichanga estaba quemada. La quesadilla fue la única aceptable. Sobre el servicio: tardaron en ofrecer la carta, nos ofrecieron sopa de lenteja y nunca la llevaron, no llevaron salsa para las gorditas, la tuvimos que pedir y tardaron mucho en llevarla, casi para acabar el platillo. No vuelvo a ir a este lugar.

I usually order food and pick it up and it is always super in n out and usually it is menudo what I go buy there and it is always delicious and the bread with butter too!!!

Good food. I ate Cocido. It was very good. The best in town. Delicious nutrition. Every Tuesday they have Cocido.. A soup with vegetables and cube meat.

LOVED the machaca! And great, paper thin flour tortillas, hand made and homemade salsa with a kick. All at great prices and terrific value. I really liked the all-natural limon-ade instead of a soda...

This is a very good place to eat some authentic food! The service was fast and the food was good. It's a small locally owned place, but thats what makes it so special.

Very good Mexican food Great Menudo One the most popular items on the menu. Blanco (white) Menudo. Flavorful and tasty. Their salsa is super good and hot too. I live the little peppers in a cup on the table. Extremely hot so two or three crushed is all you need. Great Place

Go here for the food (as it’s great) , not for the Ambiance. It’s like really eating in Mexico, probably because Mexico is about a mile away,,,, but you are in the USA, so all the authenticity but without the passport requirement and border crossing! Fast and friendly service, and a lot to eat for about $10. VictorB
