Food is average, but the people are great.

My partner and I have made the stop into Emerald Garden a few times, and we totally love the atmosphere. The dim lit ambiance and red decor remind me of almost a speakeasy type vibe, and with Budda all nestled in the corner of a booth, it compliments the restaurant nicely. The food is absolutely amazing, and I feel like Amber and I have a new favorite place to have drinks. listen to music, and eat delicious Chinese food. The potstickers were really good with the dipping sauce. The salt and pepper shrimp, house chow mein, and chicken and veggie stir fry was all very delicious and big portion size. One thing is for sure, when you visit Enerald Garden, you had better bring your appetite along with you. Best Chinese food I've had in a very long time. The service was great. Matt is a very good guy, and we had fun getting to know him and other patrons who frequent this location.

Small bar but the service and food were excellent. Egg Foo Young was delicious, Mongolian Beef and House Chow Main were also excellent. The Won Ton soup is a must try if you are craving soup on a cold night.

Always amazing food and quality service!(unless Matt is Bartending...He won't give you water...) You get the small bar feel because the bartenders know practically everyone who walks through the door. The house fried rice is amazing or the sweet and sour chicken or the orange chicken. Or you can just take a look at the Menu and pick anything from it, I guarantee your taste buds will be tantalized!

Excellent Chinese take out from the back of a dive bar. The place is hidden and is best ordered to online for take out. It is also possible to eat in the bar and you will be transported into a scene from a 1960s noir movie. Highly recommended for the experience. Note that this is a bar 21 and older as per WA law.

As far as classic “hole in the wall” bars go, this may be one of the best on the Eastside. It’s dark, usually sports on the tv, and a tad “smokey” from the regulars coming/going between cold beers. Don’t worry; it’s all part of the allure. The food is quite good! I personally prefer dining in versus take out, but I certainly made good use of the take out options during the pandemic. Personal favorites include pot stickers, bbq pork, and both the house fried rice and the house chow-mien.

The regulars have been coming back for a while. It's certainly a dive, but the food is well worth a trip. If you like Americanized Chinese and a few stiff drinks (and don't take yourself too seriously), you'll absolutely love this spot.

Friendly staff, booze is cheap, portions are large. This is much more of a bar than a restaurant, good for a snack but don't expect food that's too nice.

I travel extensively for work which means hotel food and over-processed, unhealthy cooking is not only common, but near impossible to avoid. I came across Emerald Garden in Kirkland, Washington while I was craving an unhealthy dose of fried food. However, the food was far from typical Chinese food. It was extremely fresh. Crunchy cooked vegetbales, perfectly cooked noodles (almost zero oil), and the fried dishes were fried in extremely clean oil. This wasn't just one occasion, this is every single time I go there. I am now on my 33rd business trip back to the Kirkland neighborhood and I will absolutely be eating here. Lastly, appears on the outside to be a divey, dirty place - but it's far from true. It is a bar, and it does have smokers out front - but the kitchen was extremely clean (I peaked), their bathrooms are clean (big sign of cleanliness) and the bartenders and regulars there are always so freindly. I can't tell you how nice it is to find places that cook the way I cook at home.
