I had no idea this place existed. I have lived in the area for 10 years, and i love food. My experience here was disappointing. The restaurant itself is nice.and the server was good, but the food was bad. My wife got the grilled chicken brest (or hockey puck), and it had no seasoning and was small,dry, and tough. I had the buttermilk fried breast, and it was a little better, but not much.

The salmon and flan were both excellent!

First time trying out Emil's and we were very impressed. Lump Crab Cake Duo was GREAT.

My husband and I go here every year on our anniversary, and occasionally in between when we can get away from the day to day. Our past experience was such a let down. I allotted three stars simply because I know how wonderful our experiences in the past used to be, and our server was a gem. We both ordered cocktails which were VERY heavy on the liquor, generous to some, but those who are trying to enjoy a nice relaxing evening not so much. I was informed that the typical bartender was out, so that we could look past. Dinner came, my husband's dinner of salmon, green beans, and mashed potatoes was to his liking. I ordered the prime rib and it was the most bland thing I had ever tasted in my life. There was no salt, there was no pepper, there was a garnish of rosemary which seemed out of place since there was no rosemary seasoning or ANY for that matter. We finished, paid, tipped and went to speak to the manager. We asked her to speak outside as to not disturb other guests or hint to our displeasure, especially because previous times were not this bad. The manager was very unconcerned, didn't rectify any issues... In fact, she simply stated the chef that was working likely wasn't passionate as he was only filling in because the head chef does not work on Saturday's, and he used to work there but quit and took a job elsewhere. None of this was really any of our business, it sounded like "if you come on Saturday's expect bland food and rubbing alcohol for your alcoholic beverage." I'm saddened not just by the poor experience, but that the tradition of going here as our "special place," is no longer an option as our patronage didn't seem to amount to much anyway.

So far, a cute little place, Markes me feel like I should of worn a tie.

Food was overpriced and very bland. Floor manager inquired on our liking of the meal and was given an honest assessment I can’t fathom how a chief with French cuisine background can’t properly cook long beans or mashed potatoes. Service was almost non existent or rushed and rude when they did come to the table. Waited forever to get check and given option to pay for meal. Our server never came back to table. Another server arrived to table with a sky tab to run our payment and stated our server was busy, when she was just out, for a prolonged period speaking with the hostess. Came on a recommendation with no expectations, those were dashed pretty quickly. Highly recommend another eating establishment.

I had the top shelf old fashion and filet. My wife had a pear cocktail and salmon. Everything was awesome.

Food was fantastic very tasty me and gf went here to eat for our 2 years together... was definitely worth it steak was little pricy but it was delicious so i it was guess worth it definitely will return fantastic soups also!!

Nice cozy family owned restaurant with European flair and a menu mix between European food and American touch. The beaverages, especially cocktails and wine are superb.

One of the best places to eat in Tullahoma. Everything is delicious. Please bring back the bread pudding!

Crowded space. Poor service. Poor atmosphere. No refills on drinks or bread. Waitress unknowledgable. Unorganized Food late. Elderly had to take food home it was so late. We are locals. Have had very large events here including our daughters rehearsal dinner. Never again

Such a disappointing experience. My husbands 60th birthday. They placed us in a very crowded area. The sun was shining in half the tables eyes. Waitress very unknowledgeable. We did not get enough bread. Our drinks were not refilled. No one in management acknowledged our presence. My elderly parents had to put their meals in boxes and leave. Our business was of no value to them. We live here. Have had several large celebration here. Not again

Awesome food! So delicious homemade bread, the Southern chicken with gravy and homemade mashed potatoes are to die for!!

We celebrated my mother’s 82nd birthday at Emil’s. It’s a good in between spot for our family — McMinnville, Murfreesboro, and Huntsville. The food was delicious. There were six of us, so we had a variety of different items. The filet was exactly as requested, the shrimp (ordered by two was fantastic, the chicken Daniel was delicious, the crab cake divine, and my fried chicken was perfect! All drinks were great! We love the old-house atmosphere, and the service was terrific! Can’t wait to go back!

Always a pleasure eating here! Food is always delicious, service is great, and the atmosphere is pretty good! They are gradually remodeling, so their dated look seems to be getting fixed. Best place in town to eat!

Fish with flavorless salmon as well as deep fried. Fries were not so good either. Sides were cold at 11:00 a.m.. the atmosphere was amazing in the service was great. Food was just not so Grand!

Emil's is an absolute gem in Tullahoma. This restaurant could easily fit in any large city. I was really surprised to find it here, but I am certainly glad I did. I have had everything from the winter salad to the loaded salad to the crab cakes to the chicken Diane to the desserts to the salmon to the cocktails, especially the old fashioned... Should I continue? If you come to or pass through Tullahoma, do not miss this restaurant.

Bar tender waiting tables and making drinks. They need just someone making drinks and not doing both. She was very busy and wait for drinks a little long. But food was great. Highly recommended

Baked Brie, muscles and grouper were excellent

The blackened salmon, green beans and mashed potatoes where very good! The 8oz filet was incredible as well.

I asked for gravy over my chicken, but instead I was given a tiny cup of gravy, that isn't even enough to cover one piece of chicken.

Two of our party of three had never eaten at Emil's. They said the food was delicious. I agree.

We came here for a business meeting at dinner on Friday night. They were able to give us a nice corner when you walk into the restraunt. The service was quick and I love that the menu is always changing. Your never quite sure what you may order so the changing menu is exciting. I had the filet mignon and it was delicious. It was the perfect size and flavor. I would definitely recdomend coming here if in the area! I would reccomend reservations on weekends.

As an experience we enjoyed our time at Emil’s. We were welcomed warmly and our table was ready before our reservation. Our friends enjoyed their food for the most part and we had a good time. When I asked about vegan options our waitress did not have much to suggest other than a few obvious vegetable side choices. When asked if the chef might consider putting something vegan together that idea was met with a perceived annoyance. Many other restaurants will often show a little creativity to compose a vegan dish. The explanation was that everything was mostly prepped and the chef didn’t have time to think of anything. Maybe next time I’ll advise that I’m vegan beforehand to let the creative juices have a chance to flow. At one point someone in our party asked what the waitress would recommend and she said everything. Not the answer my friend was looking for. She (my friend) just wanted a suggestion to help make a choice. I ordered a salad without goat cheese. It came out with goat cheese all over it. I kindly sent it back. I discovered shortly after that the goat cheese was pulled off and still present on the salad. Fortunately my husband liked his filet. We will go back to Emil’s sometime. Hopefully they can make one vegan option on their menu.

The best restaurant in town! Emil's always has fresh and creative food on their weekly menu and classic favorites for everyone. The food, drinks, and staff are fantastic! George is a phenomenal chef and runs a wonderful restaurant.

I wouldn't say this place is fine dining with the paper table cloths. Food was OK stake was way over cooked but the service was good.

Watered down drinks, lots of food on the menu I can airfry at home. Service was very slow, we waited 25 minutes before being asked if we wanted an appetizer. Lived and dined all over the country, I was not impressed. Won’t be back.

Average at Best. Came here to celebrate with another couple also in town visiting. Cocktails were TINY and expensive. The entrees were ok just not special or unique. The bleu cheese dip and homemade chips were not good.

Service was warm and welcoming, Everything came out in a reasonable time. We ordered the Chicken Daniel w/ rice pilaf and green beans, the Fried Chicken Sandwich with mashed potatoes, and a 5 piece of Deep Frird Shrimp. The food was absolutely delicious. One of the best meals I have had in a long time. I would highly recommend this place, but call and make your reservations first.

I would avoid. The servers were polite but took a very long time to bring out our main entrees. The appetizers were brought out right away but the two salmon dishes, among the higher priced items on their menu, were lukewarm at best, after nearly AN HOUR wait. After the meal, our server brought the dessert menu then disappointed and we had to call on another server for the check, which she processed. After paying nearly $200 with tip, for 2 adults and 2 children, I chose to speak with the manager to inform him about the delay. His response was that they "choose to operate on a more relaxed schedule" and that I "should have notified them if I wanted to rush the service". Nice to know. An hour to wait for cold, over-priced entrees, in any restaurant, is unacceptable and for the manager to treat us so apathetically is reason enough for me to avoid Emil's.

Had an excellent meal here with the family! We arrived from Shelbyville not knowing you had to have a reservation. The staff was very kind and found a place for us.

Subtly elegant, Emil’s never disappoints! Fine French dining with classic southern favorites, I always leave satisfied. It’s definitely my go-to place for special lunches, cocktails or dinners. The historical home lends a feeling of “coming home for dinner”. Bright and cheery lunches, warm and intimate candlelight dinners with bar area and front porch seating is always a great time!

Top notch .....roasted romaine salad was mist unusual and tasty...grilled salmon and chicken Daniel were most enjoyable ..also the cream of tomato soup .Bread with olive oil and the butter they use is awesome .Clean.good atmosphere .Service 5 stars .I'll be back .

Food is okay, but pricey! My dissatisfaction is firstly, they no longer do the buffet..due to Covid I'm assuming. But, now the same food, except for dessert which is ordered separately, is twice the price, no seconds, and no dessert. Emil's is taking full advantage of no buffet if not downright goughing the customer. It would be only fair to charge the same for the previous buffet and charge a decent price for desserts.

Excellent food with lots of choices and a great daily special menu. Service was outstanding and the drink menu was top shelf. By far the best place in Tullahoma or my opinion in the southern middle Tennessee area.

Had reservation and would recommend this for the weekends and evenings. Great atmosphere stephan was great and assisted quickly when I had and unexpected plus one to my reservation. Waitress was pleasant and prompt and food was perfect, this is the only place where I do not have to season my food after it is prepared. Worth every penny.

Pretty fine cuisine, portions designed for a multicourse meal. If you want great flavor and enough room to enjoy the appetizer AND dessert: this is a great place for that date.

My wife and I started coming to Emil's last fall and we now eat their 2 to 4 times a month. We LOVE it! The food and ambience would be successful in Nashville or Atlanta and yet it's a GEM in Tullahoma. And the staff is super friendly! Stefan the front of house manager does a wondeful job greeting, overseeing and accommodating the varied clientele. One of my wife's favorites is the delicious Chicken Daniel with a plate licking sauce...not literally, but you want to! :-) I love seafood and almost always get one of the fish specials. Whether they come on Black beans or with other accoutrements, the fish is always super fresh, and perfectly executed. Even my granddaughters fried chicken fingers and fries were amazing. The wait staff is excellent as well Chase has done a great job two of the last three visits, and he is smart, attentive, and courteous. On are last visit, we had Olivia again and she is equally outstanding. It's hard to justify cooking on the weekend when we're at the lake with Emil''s so close by. But better make a reservation on the weekends because they are busy!

Spent the night in the Lynchburg area and chose Emil's for dinner. Great choice! We did not have a reservation, but they graciously seated us on the porch and it was a perfect evening for al fresco dining. Started with a killer pimento cheese appetizer and some Whiskey cocktails. Yum-deli-cious stuff. I had buttermilk fried chicken that was to die for. My dining partner had the chicken marsala which was good. Service was attentive. Great experience in this small town of Tullahoma.

Had the fried chicken with garlic mashed potatoes special and it was great. Our server was wonderful as well.

Nice atmosphere. Good food. I had the chicken Daniel it was super moist. But the chocolate brownie was the best!! It was a little pricey but I will go back.

The food was OUTSTANDING.We both had chicken.i believe it was chicken damien for me..omg!!!..the second night Salmon cooked to perfection. Had the grilled and blackened. Its a very cozy atmosphere. Another gem in Tullahoma. The food is consistently good, there is always a great variety of choices and the specials change often. The food here has never disappointed me. The staff is always friendly and helpful and the Chef always visits our table after our meal which is a nice personal touch. Also great for take out! Some people I've talked to have not tried Emil's based on the prices. They say I can't afford to eat there. Just like any restaurant out there, there are some pricy dishes offered but there are also great affordable options on the menu here every week. My favorite meals here are the fried green tomatoes with homemade pimento cheese and of course, the full fried chicken meal. Both very affordable and both just damn delicious! And if the Buttermilk fried chicken with bacon jam is on the menu, order two plates. It's that good :-)

We received a gift certificate and decided to make a reservation for Valentine’s Day to try it out. We had been seated for at least 10 minutes before our server came to get our drink order. Our reservation was at 5 and there was only one other table occupied in the room at the time (that table was served by someone else). We ordered the deep fried Brie with cherry compote for an appetizer and it was delicious! We both ordered filets for our main course. It took almost 50 minutes, but the place had started filling up by that point, so we weren’t surprised. But, when our dinner arrived, the steaks (ordered medium) were burned black on the outside and medium rare on the inside. I couldn’t even eat half of mine because the taste of char was so overwhelming. It also had no flavor. The garlic butter (that didn’t melt much while we attempted to eat) didn’t appear to have garlic in it. And the steak hadn’t been seasoned as far as we could tell (unless it all burned off). The green beans were fine (also under seasoned). The scalloped potatoes were very good. Our server rarely came to check on us. (While the other tables were frequently checked on by their servers). We also ordered the chocolate lava cake and ice cream for two. The cake was good. The ice cream had no flavor. I’m disappointed that our experience was far from what I’ve read in other reviews. But, we just enjoyed our conversation and didn’t let it spoil our evening. As I’ve had time to think about it, I decided that I should leave a review. I can’t say that I would recommend Emil’s based on our experience. Skip the filet if you do go, unless you like char.
