It’s a popular spot to get a sandwich before heading out to Yellowstone National Park. We loved the freshly baked cinnamon rolls that were big and super delicious! Shame we missed out getting them again the next day as we were too early. The French toast wasn’t great though.

I got a sandwich here. It was pretty much perfect. I had salami on sour dough. The bread was super fresh. The lettuce and tomatoes were super fresh. It was great.

This place is such a gem. We went three days in a row and had breakfast and lunch. Their sandwiches were so convenient to take with us into Yellowstone each day and their breakfast is dynamite too. Great spot and great food. 5 stars.

Excellent fudge, turtles, sandwiches, most everything. Want a treat to take into the park to snack on? This is the place. Box lunches are reasonable and tasty.

We have been going to West Yellowstone every year for over 35 years and found Ernie’s over 10 years ago. We would always make sure we would stop at Ernie’s to take a sandwich in the park. One of our favorite things to do. Today is the last time we will go to Ernie’s. I asked for a Reuben. I don’t care if it’s cold. He refused and said it was breakfast and would not make it since it was hot. I totally understand that. I told them I don’t care if it’s not hot. It would be cold when I eat it and I’ve had it that way before. He gave me attitude and said “well I’ve never had it that way. I think it would be terrible”. I was a taken back and just ordered something else and since there was a line ordered something I real didn’t want. Asked for a Kaiser roll. When we got our sandwiches it was on a damn hamburger bun. To have an experience like that early in morning upset me and kind of set a mood for my day. My husband and father had walked out because they were upset on how I was treated and didn’t want to make a scene. Due to this experience I will NOT BE BACK. My daughter and her cute family come up all the time and they won’t be back either due to my experience.

Really great breakfast sandwiches and pastries. Decent coffee. We came here twice for breakfast while in town. The homemade sandwich bread was better the first time (see photos) but still good. There is a bit of a long wait since the food is made to order. I would probably order ahead next time.

We went in to get a coffee. As my wife was ordering she asked for: White Mocha with a little Carmel drizzle. And the owner (I assume) who was standing near by goes “You have to understand! we’re a small town, small coffee shop! We don’t have everything you city people want to order!” In a rude tone. The only reason I’m doing 4 stars is to not tank their rating. But I wasn’t impressed.

It's touristy, and expensive considering the small portion and quality. The staff didn't give us the breakfast menu despite it was still morning.

Staff is friendly, service is fairly prompt. I got corned beef hash... Which is very thin and small slices of corned beef and a deep fried hash browns (think McDonald's). Very very disappointing for the price. The doughnuts I got were bland and seemed like they had been out from the day before. For me, not worth a second visit.

Perfect place to have a wonderful breakfast before you leave for the day for Yellowstone. Even better pick up a boxed lunch to take with you into the park. The park food options are limited, expensive and we found the restaurants in the park to be very crowded- who wants to spend an hour in line for mediocre food? Ernie’s has a wide variety of tasty offerings. Don’t miss it.

The chicken salad tasted like it was made with canned chicken and was served on processed bread. The turkey sandwich also was underwhelming. We were shocked- this place must have changed hands. It was always fresh and delicious in the past.

I got the Montana Haystack to go. Food was great and came out in under 10 minutes. They did not have steamed milk so did not get the chai. I would go back when in the area.

I’ve eaten at Ernie’s every summer during my Yellowstone vacation for 30 years. This year the service and food quality were better than ever. I ordered the Blackbear sandwich, which was huge and delicious, savory spiced chicken with melted cheese and peppers on fresh homemade bread. The owner, Kirk, brought it to my table and even offered to bring me silverware. The homemade confections are out of this world. They are made fresh in store by DeAnn, the other owner. The “mudpots” were the best, creamy thick Carmel-pretzels drenched in melted Guittard chocolate. Totally gourmet for a hometown Montana deli. It was lovely how they had containers of ice water you could help yourself to. I like the family photos in the napkin holders. I’d like to go back to try their crêpes and breakfast omelettes. If the sandwich hadn’t been so big, I would’ve loved to try the salads too. They looked delicious.

I’ve been eating at Ernie’s Deli for 30+ years. The new owners have made noticeable and great improvements! It’s better than ever! They brought their homemade fudge, caramel apples and other sweets from the Rustic Candy store that was in Main Street for 38 years to Ernie’s. The French bread is homemade. The homemade mud pot treats-pretzel, caramel and gourmet chocolate are divine. The service was excellent. They have sack lunches you can grab for a day in the park. There can be a line out the door but that tells you how delicious and popular is.

Ernie’s is the best! We literally stopped there every day before heading into the park. The sandwiches are fresh & delicious. Nice clean bathrooms. Friendly staff, good service. It was the perfect lunch for our family of 4.

Giving it a 1 star!! This place went down hill since new ownership, they have no interest in answering the phone and don’t care for customers as much as they think they do.

Great place to grab a lunch to take on your adventures in or outside of the park. Accommodating for my picky child, good sized portions, and reasonably priced, especially for the location! Chocolate chip cookies were a family favorite.

Service was a bit slow, but the food was great! Lattes could be better and it seems like they're missing cups for iced drinks

I’ve lived in this area for a while now and this is the worst business I’ve ever been to. Waited 25 minutes for TWO biscuits ended up not even receiving our food. We paid for it and they never even put the order it!! The man working said oh it won’t be much longer at all when we ask where our food is. Even though they weren’t even making our food. I understand people make mistakes but this was ridiculous. I’ve worked in customer service for over 10 years and this was a horrible experience. We even tipped this person before realizing. They ended up giving us cashh out of the register so whoever is working on this day their draw will be off. Save your money go somewhere else. I genuinely feel like places like this just don’t care bc they live off of tourism.

We took out lunch from this place. Chicken salad sandwich was fresh, tasty, very filling and quite huge in size for me to finish. Highly recommended if you are in the area.

This place was used by our tour operator on day one so we returned for the next 3 days as the cakes were so wonderful and the sandwiches really tasty. We stopped here before going into the park to get a picnic. Not cheap but a) cheaper than the hotel b) worth every penny (or dollar)

Had lunch at Ernie’s in West Yellowstone today. Unfortunately, the quality of the food didn’t justify the high cost. Disappointed overall

Delicious breakfast and coffee. I also had a donut which was fresh and flavorful. The place gets REALLY busy the later you go. They also have a “bag lunch” that you can preorder to take to the parks. I didn’t get one but it looked amazing and contained everything you could need for a decent price ($15.95 I believe). You can order ahead online which I would recommend.

The people are very nice but the food was terrible. Bland with microwave bacon.

My family and I stayed in West Yellowstone and discovered this place on our first day. We enjoyed it so much that we came back every day for their breakfast and boxed lunch! Lots of food options and good customer service. Highly recommend this place if you are staying in West Yellowstone!

Quality food. Generous portions. Good prices. We stopped for breakfast before heading into Yellowstone. I got the “Montana Haystack” which was delicious. Enough food for two people but so yummy I ate it all by myself. They also make sandwiches and have a box lunch deal that you can take for later. Did I mention they have bakery items as well? Decent place, I recommend you try em out if you’re in the area.

Great value for price & great taste!

Not the best selection of foods. What we did get was not great at all. Service was not great, the gentleman helping us was very short with us and rude.

Overpriced, weak Americano served in styrofoam. If coffee is your priority, go elsewhere.

Grab your sandwiches here instead of trying to find something inside the park! They've put veggies in a separate bag (nice thought!), added an apple and a cookie for each of us, totally awesome.

I just came for their excellent treats. Their homemade fudge is delicious! The help were very friendly. The atmosphere was pleasant. Thanks for making such good food!

The ultimate breakfast sandwich is sooo good! The breakfast burrito was one of my favorites because it was cheesy gooey goodness. The iced chai was good. The raspberry donut had the filling in the ring which was unique and delicious. The box lunch is a great value for all you get. We got the sandwiches only the second day because we had leftover snacks from the day before. The only downfall during our visits was the biscuit. It was hard & cold. Other people said that in reviews but we wanted to see for ourselves. Get something else cuz everything else was delish. Just some info: The line at 8 am the first day was only 2 people. The second day we went earlier at 7:20am and the line was 20 people deep and it took us 30 min to order and 15 min to get our food which was fine with us. (They said they were short one staff member this day so they did apologize). Just know if you’re in a hurry, there may be a wait because everyone else likes the convenience of getting breakfast & lunch in one place. My small gripe is they charge a 3% credit card fee and I didn’t see a sign stating that or I would have used cash. The other restaurant we went to for dinner did this too, so maybe it’s a known thing in this tourist area, not sure. Either way, we will recommend this place to our friends who will visit the area. They also had a large variety of to go drinks and snacks for purchase. They have 2 bathrooms that are decorated so cute but one of the sinks barely spit out water.

This place is incredible! I found out they do box lunches you can pick up for your day in Yellowstone and that you can order the night before and it’ll be ready for you in the morning. We decided to give it a try and so glad we did! The website is easy to use and understand. We ordered two box lunches the night before, selected our pick up time and it was ready to go for us! Be aware that parking is a bit difficult and when we arrived, there was a line out the door. I waited a few minutes in the line as there wasn’t a ‘pick up order here’ sign I could see and I don’t recall the website stating you could just walk in, find your lunch and go. Once I saw the side counter I figured it out and we were able to get on the road quickly. The staff seemed incredibly happy and friendly. The food was so good, the bread was out of this world! There was a good amount of food and snacks included and kept us going all day. I love that they have this service available and would use them everyday if/when we return. While we didn’t have a sit down breakfast, just can say the meals I saw people enjoying looked and smelled amazing. I hope to be able to come back and enjoy some different meals with them!

Very good sandwich’s for to go lunch’s in the park. Extremely big on awesome French bread. Fruit, cookie, candy, drink and chips! Can’t beat it. Highly recommend. Be patient when you go, as it’s a very popular place and they are working fast to fill many orders. We will be back on or next trip!

We came to this place twice during our stays in this neighbourhood, either pastry or breakfast won our hearts. We saw the owner every time we visited here with fantastic hospitality, when the long lineup for the restrooms, he came to show his caring. Highly recommend their cream cheese danish and apple turnover.

Whenever I travel, I always try to find local business to support and this one will not disappoint! I got the chicken salad sandwich and apple turnover. I was very pleased with the quality and taste! Excellent drip coffee. Cream cheese danish is a must-try. Their "build-your-own" sandwich is wonderful, thickly sliced cheese, and cold cut with plenty of vegetables of your choosing. We loved the sandwiches because they were very "balanced" as we call them (balance of protein, vegetables, bread). We came back the second time for breakfast. Highly recommended!

We tried to go to Subway but they ran out of bread at 11:30 and couldn't make anything. . . I had read Ernies reviews and decided to give it a try. Hands down the winner! The box lunch is a steal at $14.95. I'm a local who has quite a few summer guests. We'll be back often! And yes, support our small mom and pop business!

When you walk in it has a cozy cabin vibe. The staff were super helpful and the menu was huge! Then the food was yummy!

Best omelette I’ve had ! Honestly the veggies were so fresh and the eggs cooked perfectly! The hash browns had a crisp to them and were seasoned so well! Highly recommended!

Nice good food... We took a (To-Go) sandwich and fried chicken w/ biscuit & gravy and ate it almost 4 hours later, and it was still tasty and fresh. Recommend coming here for breakfast or lunch if you are in the area!

$50+ for 2 bf burritos and 2 bf sandwiches no sides didn't provide salsa, ok sandwiches burritos was medium size but inside was 90% tortilla very disappointing other member of our party posted owner replied complainer not that hey we were busy so we shorted you or that's what you get for $11 burrito only went bc traffic backed up and tourists crowded wished we gone to subway or McDonald's, waited 30 mins! from winter 2023 in case bozo responds was stuck in draft unposted tourist trap

This place was the bee’s knees. Got a latte, breakfast sandwich, and build your own sandwich to take into the park. It was all delicious. It’s more like a “grab and go” place, though you can stay there and and eat. By the time we ordered the line was out the door. We didn’t have to wait long for our coffee or food though. Will go back for sure.

Had the Build Your Own Sandwich… 2 days in a row. Great tasting sandwich, quality ingredients & large enough to share with another person. While some have commented on the prices , everything in Yellowstone and surrounding areas is high priced based on limited supply and high demand. The quality here is worth it & you have to get some food for day trips into the park, which has fewer options and would be much more expensive. Staff was friendly both days, even telling me about winter time options for Yellowstone. Would definitely recommend..

Food was overpriced for the quality we received.

A bit mad at the experience. They run out of a lot of things and didn't yell the customer up front. I ordered a bagel but they did not tell me they run out of cream cheese. Otherwise I would not have take it. Coffee it's just straight up bad . It's cafe au lait, not a latte .

Great service, great atmosphere, and it was a welcoming coffee vibe! And you got an additional star for being open before 8. So kind and accommodating! We'll be back for sure!

Ernie's is fantastic! The staff are very polite and hospitable, and make some amazing food. We had breakfast one morning and liked it so much that we went back again the next day!

I am not sure who these people are that have given this place less than a 5 star review. This is an authenticity French bakery in West Yellowstone. The food is delicious and they even offer convenient bagged lunches to take with you into the park.

Food is fantastic. Had the sausage ultimate breakfast sandwich and it is outstanding. Would 100% checking this place out. Home cooked perfection with more amazingness to it.

First impression is so important no matter where you go when you walk into a business. Let's get back to basic with simple training. That's what Ernies employees need. It's not that hard to be kind and it doesn't cost a thing. That's what we were all taught growing up. Try to use a little bit everyday you will be so much happier and it's contagious in a positive way. We will never go back!!!!! And the food is not even that great....good luck!!!

This is truly the best place in town for all you breakfast and lunch needs. Amazing pastries, full breakfast menu prepared to order fresh and delicious. If you need lunch to go they make it fresh and pack for you to take with for your day at Yellowstone. You can also pre-order the day before. Great food, great service with a smile. If you need breakfast or lunch, dont think twice, it is hands down best breakfast and lunch stop in town!!!

It was an actual good spot to fuel up before hitting the yellowstone road. Wide selection and really good staff that worked fast. The build your own sandwich is worth it. There is plenty of meat in the bread. Busy place but that's a sign of quality.

Ernies was awesome and just what we needed and more! Traveling through Yellowstone for our last day and had just ridden 11.5 hours on motorcycle the previous day so we were quite hungry and Ernies provided!! We arrived too late for breakfast sadly but it was amazing regardless. Atmosphere was cozy and friendly, service was excellent and food was amazing. We got the Mushroom Swiss which was MASSIVE but delicious and the Black Bear Sandwich which the bf says was amazing! Highly recommend this place for anyone in the area.
