Hands down best bread I’ve had in the States

I buy the bread at the farmer's market - I have never been disappointed. Have gotten the Japanese milk bread rolls several times, the 5-grain and the Italian loaf. Consistently fresh, divine crust and the flavor is somehow addictive. Total 5 star bakery.

Got the Rustic Italian at Bryan Park Farmers Market. It was the best crusty bread we ever had. Perfect in every way and stays fresh longer than expected. Makes great toast too.

Picked up a San Francisco sourdough loaf at the rva big market this weekend and can I just say ! This is the perfect loaf of sourdough I have ever had. I absolutely love sourdough and this has the amount of thick crust, fluffy inside with the perfect amount of tang in it. I cannot wait to get another loaf soon.

I cannot express how absolutely amazing this bread tastes. It's clearly made with love and skill and every single bite melts in your mouth in the most perfect way. I'd love to share photos but unfortunately my weekly loaf has yet to make it to day three nor has any of the delicious sweet bread they also bake. Just a delightful little bakery with delicious sourdough. I ordered a $9 loaf last night and came to pick it up this morning, and it was still warm from the oven. The taste, texture, everything - it's incredible. Love that the San Francisco loaves are naturally dairy-free as well!

I grew up in northern California and have been unable to find a quality sourdough out east, but then I happened across Europa Crust. My first bite of their San Francisco Sourdough reminded me of home.

This shop is great! Just bought a multigrain loaf fresh from the oven. Not sure if it will get home in one piece as it smells so good. Haven’t tried this one before but it’s bound to be as delicious as all the other breads. Just try!

Bought a loaf of French Sourdough from RVA Big Market yesterday - made French toast with it this morning (with strawberries and real maple syrup) - I can't remember when I've had such a delicious breakfast. When I looked at the ingredients, I was even happier. Thanks Europa Crust!!

They have one of the best breads I have tried in all of VA! The place is small and quaint, which I absolutely love. I will definitely be back next time I am in the area. It left such an impression that we went back in before we left town.

I love Europa Crust, what a gem for our city. The shop is to be seen, where the magic happens. I’ve tried the San Francisco Sour Dough and the Nissu Sweet Bread. Both are exceptional! The hint of cardamom in the Nissu bread is awesome. Working my way through the other varieties with excitement.

I rarely give ratings so this one is well deserved! I live around the corner from Europa Crust and they are now a weekly staple in my household! Hot fresh bread that absolutely can’t be beat! Plus the staff are kind and helpful! Whatever bread you like — sourdough, whole grain, baguettes, and more! They’ve got it!!

I love Europa Crust's Rye and Sweet Bread. It's always fresh and scrumptious. Great for toast, sandwiches, soups, morning coffee. Try one, you'll be hooked. Warm, fresh bread is so yummy. I came back and got the 5 Grain Sourdough to have with my collard greens. Very good and not your typical sourdough. Dinner was very tasty.

This place is wonderful. The bread is almost always hot out of the oven when we go. I’m very gluten sensitive and have no issues with the rye and French sourdough loaves. Richmond is lucky to have this bakery!

What a find! I bought the 5-grain and Japanese milk loaf; they were delicious! Truly a European experience for the bread connoisseur. I sent my daughter home with 1/2 of the loaves and she sent me a text saying her brother had gobbled up the Japanese milk bread in one sitting! Now I know where to go for exceptional bread when in Richmond.

We love the wonderful bread that Jeff creates. This week I shared the Japanese Milk Buiscuit from the Capital Square Farmers Market with shared with my co-workers. The number of OMG's heard around the office was priceless.

I stopped by today to pick up the Nissu sweet bread and Japanese milk rolls and they are both incredible! So so delicious! A coworker shared some Nissu bread recently and I've been dreaming about it until I went in to get my own loaf today. Words can't describe how delicious it is. And those fluffy milk rolls too? I feel sad that I've been missing out on Europa Crust all this time, but I hope to make up for lost time now. It's just SO good.

I found Europa Crusts bread over a year ago and I am so happy to have delicious breads at my disposal. I am German and we all know how much we love a good bread. My favorite is the French sourdough or the multigrain, but then there is the Finnish sweet bread. Oh my! I have to freeze it in slices to sage myself from eating the whole loaf. Then you can just toast it and slather butter on there. Delicious!

I was just taking a walk and came across this quaint home style bakery and I just had to get a loaf! Just got home and took a bite and it’s delicious! Definitely will return for more!

I bought a sourdough rye and Nissu aka Pulla at the Art show at the stadium near Carytown this weekend. The Pulla was out of this world and brought me back to my childhood in Sault Ste Marie Canada. There were many Finnish in my home town growing up. My father would go to the Finnish bakery and get Sour rye and Pulla to be devoured by 7 children and 2 adults. My loaf of rye is in the freezer waiting for some good deli to grace its slices. My pulla is over half gone already, by me alone! I will be back for sure. Thank you Europacrust for blessing us with your wonderful bread. PS. I read your history and had to laugh. During the Pandemic I made bunches of bread including Pulla.

Stopped by during my lunch break and bought a super fresh loaf of sourdough. It was still warm! It's even more delicious with just a bit of butter, and it reheats very well. The shop is very cute and simple, and it's clear that the focus is on the product rather than flashy advertisements or instagrammability. It feels like a true neighborhood shop where you'd stop by weekly, grab some great bread, and be on your way.

I believe their bread is the best I've ever eaten! The multigrain is a gift from the gods! Lovely crunchy crust and an oh so moist, flavorful inside. Seriously, heaven. Yum! I have my favorite but you won't go wrong with any of their delightful creations.

In my search for delicious, handmade sourdough, Europa Crust is my endgame. I stop in every time I'm low for a loaf of the San Francisco and a baguette. I eat this bread alone with butter, dip it in olive oil, toast it up as crostini, top it with fruit for breakfast, and literally everything in between. My life feels empty when I don't have a loaf of Europa Crust sourdough on my counter.

I was thrilled to find Nissua. It’s a traditional Finnish bread that I grew up having for breakfast. It takes forever to make. My friends heard me talking about it forever and were happy to enjoy it with me. The other breads are also amazing.
