Great spot. We had a quick lunch that wasn't too expensive for the area. Staff was fast and friendly.

We came for lunch upon our arrival in Homer. My husband had a sausage pizza and I enjoyed macaroni and cheese with bacon. The bacon really added extra flavor and texture. Service was very good!

Don’t know how the food is. We sat forever with no one taking our order. There were other tables waiting to order as well. We, along with one of the other tables told the water refill lady that we were ready to order. She only replied that she wasn’t the waitress. We got up and mentioned to the hostess that we were leaving because no one would take our order. She didn’t seem to care. By the way, there were numerous people standing around in the kitchen/food prep area doing absolutely nothing. No one cared whether we stayed or left. We won’t be back!!

Waited for a long time for an order of two pizzas and was told that they had a lot of to go orders. Meanwhile the beer and cider which my wife and I ordered had been long consumed with the salmon cakes. Finally the two pizzas arrived and one was burned with a charred crust which was inedible. This time place was staffed by youngsters and all I got was sorry. Apparently there was not a manager on site. Pitiful way to run a business. Happily we’ll have no reason to ever go to Fat Olive again nor should anyone else.

Greasy and tasteless pizza with canned ingredients. The fish was served cold and partially raw. From several old reviews it appears this place used to be good and the quality has since downgraded.

It’s very loud and echoes badly. The service is slow and poor. The staff are nice but just not attentive. The hostess gets busy chatting and can’t get ppl seated. The food looks and smells better than it tastes. White bean soup is rly good. Sandwiches are bland. I never had an empty water, so that’s a plus I guess.

Generous and tasty salads, flavorful and creative pizza, and silken scallops with linguine… my seafood pasta went a bit heavy on the sauce (even for a sauce lover like me), but overall, it was delicious. My daughter’s kids’ Mac and cheese (penne with creamy cheese) was superb, lol. Baby enjoyed sharing big sister’s portion. I enjoyed local artist Deland Anderson’s works which were up on the walls, as well.

Good food a bit pricey service slow

The pizza was phenomenal and the Greek salad was delicious. The service was great and very kind to use and our wine and beer was perfect- best meal we had!

Hopefully, this was a fluke. We ordered to go so we didn't get to talk to anyone. I have celiac so I was super excited to see they had gf pizza. When I ordered I found out they did not have any more gf crust I ordered a salad without onions and balsamic dressing, I added chicken. It came out to almost $30. When I got home it had onions and ranch dressing and the chicken was not seasoned. We ordered a slice a meat pizza and it was extremely burnt. They did replace it for “free” with a slice of pepperoni because they were out of meat. The pepperoni was very underdone.

Chicken Alfredo was wonderful!! Staff was very nice and helpful. One of the best I've head so far!

We LOVED Fat Olives!!! The food was so goood!! You have to get the Nonna’s salad. It’s fresh, simple but it packs a punch in taste. We also loved the Barnyard pizza and Seafood pasta. The service was excellent. Would definitely eat here again!

Food was great. Salads are expensive for what you get. The pizza was super good. The tables for the larger groups have cardboard or thin wood that was easy to compromise. Only one person in the bathroom at a time which caused problems. They need to invest some money into larger bathrooms and better tables. Service was fine.

We had fettuccine Alfredo and it was delicious!! The pizza looked really good too. The staff was really nice. Is go back if I lived there.

Quite a long wait for a table but good food. The server seemed to be covering more tables than practical. Not sure if that was by design or they were short that night. Entrées were a bit pricy, even by Alaska standards.

Friendly staff, pretty quick service, and the lunch was excellent as well! My chicken calzone was tasty, but my fiance's salmon burger was absolutely delicious! This was a nice place to switch it up from the typical fish menus in the area!

The food here is incredible. We had oysters on the half shell, shrimp and scallops, pork belly, garden salad and tomato bisque. Angie was very attentive and helpful. All the food was fresh fresh fresh, delicious seasoning and mouthwatering flavor. Highly recommend.

We enjoyed y enjoyedbwaring at Fat Olives very much. They had Gluten Free buns for the sandwiches.

I’m from Chicago and I just had the best pizza I’ve had in years in Homer, Alaska, of all places! Fat Olives. Pork belly appetizer is incredible!

Everything was delicious. Service was world-class.

Ordered 2 pizzas, waited 45 minutes. Watched pizza come out of the oven and sit in a box for 10 minutes before it was handed to us. Got in the car and I'm glad I checked because one of the pizzas was wrong. Staff had given me someone else's pizza. No apology, just "here". I was disappointed that the big pizzas we're not offered that day. I asked the counter person if it was just that day, she said "not today". I asked her if there was a set schedule / time so I could come on a day when I can get a big one because honestly - the look on my guests' / kids faces when you open that big thing is worth it.. again, she said "not today". Not the customer friendly answer I was expecting. Is it when they're busy? After 4? 2? Out of boxes? Out of dough? Weekdays? I have been coming here for years. I like the food, I like the place, I will be back. I hope the experience turns around, or I might have to get a pizza oven.

This is a wonder little place! We happened upon it and were starving. The staff was friendly and the meal came quickly. The food was fabulous! I recommend the meatball appetizer, the homemade Mac and cheese, and the scallops, shrimp, and asparagus. We will be back!

We went to here due to the great reviews... 😎 We never ate here! 😂 why? Because we came in, a customer warned us that if you are more than 2 there will be a 25min wait. We finally were greeted by a staff member who asked how many. We are 4... staff said 35-30min wait, we offered our name & she said... no don't need it & walk off. There were quite a few other people waiting & I like to think that we look like anyone else. Since they didn't write our name or even a quick note of description or anything... we did stay because we weren't confident that we'd have a spot to sit in 30 mins & we were really hungry, it was 2pm. So we left & are happy we did. We got a seat right away in a delicious Thai restaurant near by.

Salmon was overcooked and did not care for the rice. Very loud abd pricey.

This restaurant has it all. Great Staff! Great Menu! Great Environment! I honestly dont know how its rated at 4.5. I ordered a cup of tomato soup, a calzone. It was so good, I had lunch the following day, and it did not disappoint, ordered a pizza and it was super good. If in homer its a must.

The food wasn't that great and when I ordered the mac and cheese, I found a long hair in it and i had better mac and cheese before. The pizza was fine I guess. The canzone could honestly have more flavor. I hate that they changed the menu and don't have the alfredo anymore cuz that was the best.

Waited an hour to be seated, then they told us they only had pizzas and calzones. This rating isn’t for the food because we didn’t have any, but just an FYI for folks wanting something other than pizza here

Quite a wait, but if you're on their waiting list, they give you an electric call device that beeps n vibrates n flashy lights when your table is ready. Didn't wait too long. But there is a bit of a wait. But they make up for it with their food. The pizza is to die for. Definitely had a very comfortable atmosphere. The wait staff was always on point with keeping the beverages topped off.

Great pizza! Stopped on a Friday night and there was a little bit of a wait. Place was busy. Hostess was welcoming and wait staff was attentive. Food was great as we wanted to get off the spit and get something different. Loved it.

Food is amazing! It took our server about 15 minutes to take our order though…she kept saying “be right there”, but still took a while. It was a Tuesday night so it wasn’t “slammed”, but once she arrived she was nice enough. We’d definitely go back because the food is incredible!

I cannot give this place anything less than a 100% score. We just arrived in Homer AK for a first-time ever visit and decided on pizza. I had the 12 inch red sauce pizza and customized with black olives, mushrooms and artichokes. It was amazing! The staff is friendly, professional and service was fast. Even the starter side garden salad with sweet Dijon mustard was excellent. Fat Olives is at the top of my all-time pizza experience list.

Without a doubt, some of the best pizza I have ever had. My Italian wife gave this a 10/10.

Wow!……..the carnivore pizza was done to perfection! The texture of the fresh pizza was among the best!

Had good reviews so gave it a whirl. Got the halibut tacos, two calzones and a kids mac. Kids mac small, and left my 4yo hungry. The tacos were decent. AVOID THE CALZONE. What we got was still cold, microwaved calzones. Soggy with water inside and out from being frozen and reheated. Instant regret and we will see if my stomach settles down or if I am looking at food poisoning. Will not be coming back.

You knew this place was good the moment you pulled into the busy parking lot. There are two sides, one if you want to wait and one of you don't. Either way you are getting a solid massive pizza, hand tossed, fresh baked in a stone oven. Despite the line we got a table after a small "worth your while" wait and the service was quick and friendly. If you are in Homer, this is one of the highlights not to be missed but warming. Come hungry....

It has a few entree selections but mostly is a salad and pizza place. The pizza we tried was Maui Zowie and it was delish. Mediterranean salad was large enough to share. No hard drinks but Alaskan beer, hard seltzer and wine choices. Service was fast. Nothing special about the location.

Don't skip this place! Great food, friendly service. Plenty of options! Not just pizza, but it's good too! Pesto turkey sandwich with parmesan tomato soup is a personal favorite of mine. My sister loved the salmon cakes! Carrot cake for dessert was so good!

This place was suggested by on of our owners of a rental. Glad we took the suggestion! This was the BEST pizza in AK we have had! So fresh and hot.

I did not expect such good pizzas in Alaska, and in Homer, no less! The dough had the right amount of chew and thickness, the toppings were fresh and the ratio of sauce, topping, and crust was just right, in my opinion. They tasted of a legit pizza oven. They offered a 12 inch and 18 inch, both are bigger than the stated size. The ambiance is open and casual. Service was excellent. Our server was friendly and accommodating. She took off the salads from our bill because they came out sort of late. Salads were decent. Large piles of fresh veggies.

Cheese bread and halibut tacos were very good. Pair them with their in-house Ranch and Sriracha.

best crab cakes we had in Alaska ( the other 3 places for crab cakes were awful) and it was at a pizza restaurant...the meat pizza was excellent..thin crust great toppings $28..the salad looked and tasted great...canned soda...friendly staff..nice artsy vibe

Cute place in Homer with friendly customer service. The pizza and Caesar salad were very tasty and the atmosphere is great - lots of cool art on the walls and cozy. You can eat at the bar or in the multiple dining rooms and they also have a takeout area. Would definitely return!

The pizza here is awesome! And the gluten free crust were a hit. Staff was on top of it. Seated quickly despite having a larger party and needing a table(s) prepped for us. It is loud so don't expect a quiet conversation. But who wants that when you can share some pizza and wine with friends?

Super good pizza. Best by far were the Mediterranean and the Barnyard. The combo pizzas get kinda soggy with all the toppings, but still good. Flavors were there. I’d come back.

I’ve eaten here 3 times and every time has been great. The food is delicious and the service has been on point each time. Lots of drink choices too. Ate here with my kids on 2 occasions and once with just my husband, and everyone was very happy with their experience.

Oysters and local/Alaskan beer selection were a pleasant surprise. Not the usual Alaskan brand beers. Bartender/server was very nice and helpful. I arrived close to closing and she didn't rush me at all

Really adorable! The halibut tacos were delicious! The chocolate cake was decadent and fudgy! Really tasty! Service was a little slow-ish but it was crowded and they were busy but the wait staff was pleasant and helpful. Really great experience for my 1st trip to Homer!

While the restaurant serves some amazing food; the waiters are just as good of quality and extremely attentive. Five stars for everything and everyone except the atmosphere created by, who I can only imagine to be, the owner and other stakeholders of the establishment. Turning the music up to drown out the voices of my children and making the entire experience a one star. I had family up from the lower 48 and raved over Fat Olives; moving forward I will think twice before returning. I am very disappointed. What should have been a stellar experience, you sir, killed it.

It was good but the menu was weird have to pay for sides.

Good service and atmosphere however the food was mediocre. Got the fresh catch and Mediterranean pasta, both lacked taste and pasta was quite dry. 9 out of 10 tables got pizza so maybe get that.

Fat Olives is doing some things right. Our order was to-go, so we might have missed out on the full dine-in experience. Also, not all menu options are available to-go. We started with the meatball and cheese bread appetizers. The cheese bread was okay, essentially a small cheese pizza. The meatballs, however, were well-made with great flavor. They came with a couple of pieces of bread, but we were expecting flatbread with extra sauce for dipping, so it was a bit underwhelming. My daughter had a pepperoni and olive pizza and was satisfied with it. We also shared a Caesar Salad, which disappointed in overall flavor. We had a half White Devil and half Hitman pizza. The White Devil was okay, but the Hitman was something else, with flavors popping from the pesto sauce, sun-dried tomatoes, and salami. We closed the meal by sharing a slice of chocolate layer cake and carrot cake. The chocolate layer cake was very sweet for my taste, but my daughters were big fans. I enjoyed the carrot cake, which stood out with its light cream cheese frosting, pecans, and especially the caramel drizzle. Overall, Fat Olives has some hits and misses, but it’s worth a try.

We got 4 different pizzas, they were ok taste but the crusts were tough and dry and hard to chew. I hope it's just a fluke cause they good in the past, but it's been about a year since we went there

Calzones was great, I'm usually not a fan of salmon patties, but highly recommend the ones from here, loved the sauce.

Absolutely by far the best pizza on the peninsula. I come here every time I’m in Homer, and have yet to be disappointed, the service can be a little bit on the pushy side but the food is never to disappoint.

The smells were amazing and the pizza was divine! The server that took our order was fun and engaging. Don't miss this hot spot unless you want to miss out on the best pizza. Your choice!

My husband and his friend went to the Fat Olive for lunch. My husband ordered soup and a pizza. Our friend ordered a salad and a meat eater calzone. Huge meals! The staff were very nice and the restaurant was clean. They took a to-go box for lunch another day. Unfortunately, I can't get photos to load on this review. They will definitely return.

Stopped in while visiting Homer with my friend. We both got the meat calzone. We both ate our meal in fifteen minutes because it was that good. Good portion for the price. Our waitress was very friendly and helpful. I would come here again.

The food wasn't great. And they wanted to turn us away verse having us wait for a table. Weird!

We had two very disappointing meals here this evening “The Catch” and “Sea scallops and Prawns” we were hungry and travelling so didn’t return the barely warm meals with almost no “Seasonal Vegetables” $86 bill included one beer and one wine, a lot of money for not much food. Fat Olives was highly recommended to us by several locals so I hope our experience was an exception not the norm.

Absolutely delicious! We ordered in for lunch - calzones, burger and chicken caesar wrap were absolutely delicious! Loved the atmosphere/vibe. Ordered pizza to go & we loved every bite!!

Amazing pizza! Pizza is one of those foods in life where even bad pizza can be decent still, however this was just flat out GREAT pizza. I ordered the Fab 4 and I think they made a mistake while making it so they gave me an extra pizza for free. THATS GREAT SERVICE. Definitely will be back here this summer with some friends. While their crusts are different, I think they taste better than Moose’s Tooth. Fat Olive’s please keep being awesome.

We had a delightful dinner here. We enjoyed the Mediterranean pasta, the shrimp and scallop pasta, and for dessert, the carrot cake—all of which were delicious. The service was prompt, and I would definitely recommend this place!

Hmmm, tough one, as I’m doing my best to be fair Late lunch stop, wanted to grab quick on a short stop. Beer and pizza 🤷‍♂️ Pizza is NoT woodfire, which is fine by me, as we grabbed recommended salmon chowder (was a first one for me EVER). Great tasting, fine beer and wine selection, received top notch service at the bar seating, fast service & friendly. BUT… Where is the SALMON in the chowder, considering Homer and its genuine Salmon famousness, truly expected few pieces of salmon atop my bowl of salmon chowder considering the Salmon Dirby weekend. The large red chunks inside chowder were just pieces of a carrot unfortunately (not the shredded stuff atop I’m speaking of). Truly disappointed, but hey!!!? Just my 2 cents Ps. Will consider to stop by another time to give the pizza a try as it’s highly spoken of.

Pizza was undercooked, greasy, flavorless and had hardly any toppings. Really dissapointed as the reviews are mostly so positive.

Great place for pizza, salad & beverages when we’re in Homer

This is my favorite pizza and the unfortunate part of my life is I live in Anchorage. Recently my family spent time in Homer and came back with the Carnivore pizza for me. I wasn't hungry when they got home and put it in the fridge for the next couple days. It has been my lunch for 3 days now and still after heating it up after 72 hours in my fridge and a car ride from Homer it was the best pizza I've eaten in Anchorage. I love this place. From the food, the building, and its people. It's a great place to be with food that is somehow better. It's honestly the highlight of every trip to Homer for me.

Cute place. Came highly recommended. Food was mediocre at best, service was atrocious! Hostess seemed to be having a tantrum slapping items on tables, and waitress was quite snooty. Thumbs down.

While visiting Homer a friend suggested eating here. Shared a portobello sandwich and pizza and both items had good flavor. My only critique is that the center of the pizza was soggy so you had to use a fork and knife to eat it. We had no issues with service.. but it was also mid week in March. I would recommend and return if in the area again

Pizza is so good!!! Bit of a wait, but very worth it. Fun paintings on the walls made for good conversation. Service went over and beyond. Cheese was not listed on the pizza I ordered, but came with it. I can't have cheese. I was confused and asked the waiter who stated it happens all the time and he'd be happy to have another made, free of charge. My husband happily ate my cheesy pizza and I was very grateful they were so accommodating!! They could've told me too bad so sad and I would've understood and eaten my cheese stripped crust, but they certainly value the customer! Thanks a lot!!!
