To Carlos, the owner - Me, my family and friends have been coming here for decades. I'm now in San Diego and heard of your closure. I'm sad to hear of it, but hope you have a good retirement! Nobody can replace the authentic Cuban cuisine you provided in the Orange Circle. You will be missed!

Bummed that they are closing doors after 45 years! One of my favorite paces to go. Love their ox tail but they didn’t have any. Will be missed but glad we got to go a few times.

My husband and I have gone to Felix's for 38 years (before our time together, it was one of my Mom's favorite spots). We hate to see it go. It will surely be missed.

The Cuban Oxtail and rice plate was amazing and a must. It was super tender, meaty, savory, and delicious. This has got to be my favorite dish, here, so far. Their berry fruity Sangria was also delicious and not too sweet. I forgot to take a picture before I was enjoying my dish. Oops.

I have been coming to Felix for 34 years. We have brought family, friends, business associates and have celebrated numerous special occasions here. I have watched it outlast nearly everything around the Orange Circle and with good reason. Some of the staff are still the original staff there, and the food is exactly how it has been served since the beginning. There is a good reason why a restaurant, it's staff and it's menu sticks around for a very long time. Now that much time has passed, my experience at Felix is like a time capsule, a reminder that the fundamentals always prevail. I order the Picadillo with Fried Eggs here and finish with their unique version of Café con Leche (Latte). I always look forward to visiting Felix again. *** UPDATE: In the most bizarre timing ever, it was reported on the OC Register that Felix is closing the very day after I wrote this review. I'm in shock and sad. I will really miss Felix, But I suppose everything has an end, even the Great ones. I thank and salute you guys at Felix 🫡 for all the happy times we spent there, and wish you all well.

The rib dish was delicious! Service was fast and friendly! Everything tasted wonderful, I have never had Cuban food before but it’s extremely delicious and the beef rib was tender and the sauce was delightful! I don’t understand these reviews that are leaving 2 stars because they only have styrofoam cups! I retired from a culinary school and the people that work in restaurants work their butts off for good reviews and you knock them down to 2 stars for their cups? Seriously, work in a restaurant for awhile to understand how hard it is to please everyone!

We always go to this restaurant whenever we are visiting in Orange CA. This is the first time we went for lunch. Mary had a "THE OTHER LOSER" sandwich, which was a wonderful chicken salad. I had the mixed meat platter. The portions were so large that we also had it for dinner.

Great Service. Great Calamari big and juicy not dry at all. The meal was good. However the meat in our other meal was a little dry imo. However 5 stars overall. People there were friendly and happy.

Been eating here on and off for years. My mother used to say "If you don't have anything nice to say,don't say anything at all". This time I'm going to make an exception. Food has been good over the years. Ordered 50 dollars worth of take out,it was good,my roommate and I enjoyed it. Taste was a little off but not a big deal. Next morning we both got mild food poisoning,it lingered for a couple days. Be careful eating at this restaurant. I'm too nice to call the health department,I really should have. Beware,you have been warned. This isn't a joke,I'm not kidding. ☠️

My whole family's favorite Cuban experience this side of the U.S. We make a note of going there for special occasions and eating a wide variety of delicious dishes. We have also had them cater a to go feast that was great, but 100% always better at the restaurant. Highly recommend 👌🏽

Everything on the menu looked so good that I had to try as much as I can definitely had to get some to go boxes. The food was delicious definitely will come back again. The service was amazing very attentive. The restaurant was very clean and so where the restrooms. I have nothing bad to say the food was amazing you can tell they take their time to make their food and care about the quality off food they are serving. The one thing that caught me off guard was the fried mozzarella not what I expected I'm use to the sticks these are like fried mozzarella cubes with there version of marinera sauce it was good but that is just way to much cheese and sauce for me.

Flavor of the food was definitely not there seemed like the dishes lacked flavor and substance tried the pork and wife tried the combination and we were both unimpressed the beef empanadas and app were pretty good overall not a good first impression.

Everything is delicious. Food from Filet Mingnon Medallions to a plate of Black Beans and Rice. There is something for everyone. I suggest starting with an appetizer of Mozzarella Provincial and a Materva or an Espresso to drink. Followed by one of there home made soups. On Fridays they serve the best Fish soup you could have. For the main course have your way with the menu. Our favorites are the Chicken Empajador, the Medallions of Filet Mingnon and the Beans and Rice with a side of the Creamed Spinach. You will be greeted with a plate of bread and butter when you choose a seat inside or out. If you have room the Chocolate Cake or Flan are certain to fill you up. Love this place for its food, prices, casual atmosphere and the very pleasant staff.

I had a Media Noche sandwich. Instead of Swiss cheese, it had some type of cheese spread. Weird and kinda gross.

Great food and great staff. That atmosphere is great and it's located in the historic circle of Orange. Great place to have a bite to eat and then do a little shopping or just walk the area and imagine what life was like during a more simpler time.

Great Cuban food, and the best kept secret for a weekend breakfast at the Orange Circle. Go ahead, wait an hour for the filling station, or sit down quickly at Felix and get a killer breakfast for a reasonable price. Lunch and dinner menus are also spectacular! LOVE this place! Not to mention it has been at the circle for around a million years. If you like Cuban food, this is a destination restaurant.

Service was great BUT the paella was the worst in town. Completely tasteless. Looked soaked like they just poured water to reheat it. So it tasted like water. Never coming back.

I ordered the grilled chicken which was delicious but rice and beans were not. They didn't have the avocado salad and no Yucca only fried. Service was good but the place is run down. I drove 40 minutes and went by the reviews. Very disappointing and will not return.

Felix Continental Cafe is a very long standing Cuban restaurant located at the Orange Plaza Square traffic circle at the intersection of Chapman Ave and Glassell Street. The parking tends to get difficult here so I recommend parking at the Old Towne West Parking structure which is a 5 minute walk and is free. I used to love coming here when I was in college as the food was amazing. This time the food was good but not amazing. We started with the Calamaritos Fritos Gran Via (Calamari) and the calamari pieces were thick and cooked correctly but the flavor was just ok. As a main I had the Caribbean Delight which was good but not excellent as I was hoping. My daughter tried the Chicken Cordon Blue which she thought was excellent but it is quite a bit different than normal Cordon Blue so be prepared. Service was excellent, quick, and friendly. The plates come with a good amount of food for very reasonable prices.

One of my favorite places to eat. Huge dinner comes with dessert(it's all good). My favorite dish is chicken Supreme. Bread is warm and wonderful. Ask for the house dressing on your salad. They have their own wine which is wonderful. It's smack dab in the middle of the circle. Grab a window seat or outside table and people watch

Let me start by saying everything offered in this restaurant is Delicious. I stated off with a bowl of Lentil soup which was almost a meal in itself. Next for an appetizer I had Empanadita Criolla which is made with ground beef and the fried Calamari. For the main course I ordered Rabo Encendido which is Oxtail Cuban Style meat so flavorful n tender. Washed it down with a Sangria. Finally for dessert Bread Pudding. I was so full but, so satisfied with my meal I highly recommend Felix.

I liked this restaurant because the people were very friendly, the service was fast, they spoke spanish, the food was delicious and there were a lot of things to see in the area. There are a lot of different options in the menu, I liked the rice with platanos and pork.

We ordered the sampler plates and they were absolutely delicious. The plantains were crispy on the outside and sweet and juicy on the inside. The spinach was creamy and flavorful. The meats and onion were really well cooked. Wonderful hole in the wall spot.

I got a Cuban sandwich here today and it was so disappointing. The sandwich consisted of few small pieces of lunch meat and pork, accompanied by a smidge of mustard and two small flaccid pickle slices that belong in McDonald’s reject bin. Don’t get me started on the Italian dressing. The staff was courteous but the restaurant seriously needs to be cleaned and ventilation checked. Smells like microwaved fish.

No wait on a Saturday night. Ordered the Grilled Pork with tres leches dessert - it was all really good! Service was fantastic and the outdoor seating is nice and peaceful. Would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a nice dinner in the area.

This is way over-rated. We have been in Cuba and have many Cuban friends - this is the worst Cuban food we have tried. The mediocre food was slopped onto plates in large helpings that oozed over the edges. The setting is typically Cuban (spartan, aged, nice photos of La Havana) but actually not too clean, and that unkept atmosphere pervades. Would not recommend at all.

Felix has been serving fresh Cuban cuisine to the orange circle and patrons for over 65 years. Once you see the menu you'll see why. Many options but I personally can't stay away from the shrimp lousianese,the sauce they pair it is hallmarked in my taste buds hall of fame.

My parents and I came to this place because we were advices that this was the best Cuban food around. Wronggg! We did not enjoy our food, my mom makes wayyyyy better Cuban food than this, she even taught one of my oldest friends how to cook Cuban food. 1. The food that I ordered had too much sauce, the meat was a bit stiff, the platanos maduros were also stiff, the rice was bland no flavor, as for the beans watery. On the way home I kept tasting wine, obviously they add wine to that sauce for the beef and potatoes, which authentic Cuban food doesn't have in that particular plate, as for their salad I could've made a better salad with my eyes closed and I asked for Italian instead I believe they disregarded what I asked for and gave me some awful house dressing. The Cuban bread tasted old. 2. My mom was not happy with her soup, pork, she mentioned that it was stiff, no flavor, as well as the rice, platanos maduros, and beans. 3. My dad did not get what he ordered ropa vieja, instead he got carne ripia which is shredded beef in a sauce. On the way home my dad started feeling nauseas, basically the entire meal for us three was awful. Will never return here. These people need the help of Chef Ramsey.

Cada dia van mas de mal empeor la comida la sirven muy fria como que ya latienen echa y solo la ponen al microway Y la verdad que lastima era mi lugar favorito y llevaba mucha gente ahora ya casi no voy y cuando voy siguen igual.. I have been going to Felix for many years. The food is always excellent and the wait staff are awesome. If you like Cuban food that is authentic this is a great place to go. I had their chicken with rice and beans. My wife had a delicious omelette. They have both indoor and outdoor seating.

He sido cliente por muchos anos, siempre mando a buscar o la recojo, pues el parqueo es muy dificil. Trabajo cerca del lugar, nnca habia tenido problema. Pero ayer pedi congri con pollo asado algo que pido seguido y cuando fui a cortar el pollo pegado al hueso estaba rojo con sangre. Estaba totalmente crudo. Lo tire a la basura completo sin probar del asco que cogi. Me quede sin comer.Gracias a Dios que no lo comi porque me hubiera enfermado. La verdad ojala que sea algo aislado y no se repita. Pero ya mas nunca ordeno nada.Y me dijeron cuando llame que me ivan a dar el credito, pero no fue verdad me cobraron $48.88. fue por Uber la entrega. NO LO RECOMIENDO MAS. Y ERA CLIENTE DE 20 anos.

Food was great! Cuban sandwich was made with white American cheese instead of swiss which threw me off but loved it still. My only gripe was that the bathroom was filthy.

I've been going here for decades and just love the food. I had the oxtail and it was delicious and cut with a fork tender. All meals include soup or salad and dessert. The natilla was to die for. There isn't anything fancy about this place. Just super food and lots of it.

Many times I've enjoyed the empanadas, the croquettes, and Cuban sandwiches here at Felix's. Recently, a jazz trio played outside while we enjoyed our lunch alfresco. Sitting outside underneath an umbrella reminded me of eating at an outdoor cafe in Europe.

Sad at best. The food had no flavor. There's a lot of great reviews for this place and a couple of friends recommended it, so I tried it. Maybe it was an off day for them, but it was disappointing. I won't go back.

Went here for the first time today to order some Oxtails to go. The restaurant itself has a very calming and beautiful atmosphere with indoor and outdoor seating. The servers were quick with my order and I was in and out in under 10 minutes with my to-go order. The Oxtail was delicious and fell right off the bone 🤤 Authentic fried plantain and delicious rice on the side. Definitely going to be a regular here!

Food is ok, but with a lot of condiments that upset my stomach. I order fish it was tough and rubbery no flavor at all. The place smells and needs maintenance.

My food was pretty good (and lots of it). However, when I placed my order I was supposed to be able to choose from various options for the sides but our waiter wouldn’t let me choose, even after I specifically asked to do so, because his English was too limited. I was just given the first option for each selection. The waiter was nice, however, and tried to be helpful.

I went with my dad here and my dad has been there before but I went for the first time the waiters were very kind and the service was pretty good and when dining in it gave a nice atmosphere and I really enjoyed the Tres Leches Cake it was very delicious and the Chicken I got was very good with the black beans

Always a true delight to have a meal at this restaurant. The staff has been the same for years, they're always kind, always helpful. Food is prepared quickly but flavors aren't skimped. My favorite is arroz a la cubana. It's a generous portion and always makes for great leftovers the next day. Mojitos are refreshing, tasty and loaded. Never change Felix

(7/12/2023) First time Cuban Restaurant and it was pretty good in my opinion. Service was friendly, and food came fast as well. Oxtail was definitely must try here because it had fatty that easily chewing and delicious overall. Also, Felix Combination was tasty as well that had lots of different ingredients in it. Creamy Spinach also good in my opinion. Because of this place, I would try more Cuban food in the future.

It's not what it used to be. Asked the server to replace the pork in the cuban sandwich and he said that he asked me twice and no one in the party I was with heard it. Brought pork in the sandwich, when I told him I have an allergy, he took it back and JUST removed the ham and gave it back. Had a piece of ham still on it, that's how I know. Then another gentlemen stepped on and said he get me a new one. Ate only half. I had severe food poisoning last night and today, been throwing up and going to the bathroom like there's no tomorrow! NEVER AGAIN will I go there!

Felix's is located in an adorable historical downtown area of Orange, CA. It's very tasty and I have been there twice. I had the shrimp de ajo, which is the Camarones de Ajo (garlic) and it was delicious. The only item I didn't like on my plate were the "tostones", which are a very bland fried green banana cake. It would seem to me that someone should add flavor to them. I have been to Cuba in the past and food is bland, and these are very much like the ones in Havana.

The cafe is located in the traffic circle of Old Town. It is a small Cafe with somewhat limited seating inside and the service extends to tables outside on the sidewalk of traffic circle. It is mostly the novelty of being in Old Town area and traffic circle. I made it there for lunch but on my way I reviewed a breakfast menu that seemed very nice and maybe better than the lunch menu. I do not know what the cutoff time is between breakfast and lunch or brunch. I got a lunch sandwich and soup. The split pea soup was very delicious and the sandwich was Panini Style with cheese and two pork Meats. The sandwich was a bit dry so ask if you can have more secret sauce if you order them. I got a seat by the window inside. I enjoyed the novelty of watching the passers by and the characters in the traffic circle while I dined on my lunch

Lots of food for the price. The service was excellent, as the waiter made sure to take precautions for my gluten allergy. I had a separately prepared red snapper with the sofrito, beans, and rice. My friends enjoyed the appetizers, paella, and plantains. It was $100 for 5 dinners with appetizers and salad and dessert, no drinks.

Decepción total !!! La carne estaba bien pero el arroz amarillo y el congris estaban descompuestos, nada frescos, las lentejas eran de 2 días, antes de pedir, le preguntamos al mesero si la comida estaba fresca y nos aseguró que sí, nos mintió, no pudimos disfrutar los alimentos en esa condición de descomposición. No volveré. No arriesgaría mi salud por un plato de comida descompuesta.

Dish ingredients on the menu are not the same as what is served. They were very nice and helpful about fixing the dish to what the menu says. Food is underspiced and bland, the sea food is frozen not fresh, shrimp was not deveined. Good customer service but a bad rep to Cuban food if this is someone's first time trying it and a dissapointment if you're a Cuban food fan.

This used to be my favorite Cuban restaurant but now the food and service has changed alot. Being Cuban its hard to find a good restaurant that has good service to. This place when the owners were there was excellent now not even worth the drive from Riverside.

Making the drive all the way from Temecula just to have lunch should tell you just how good Felix's is!!! It's our absolute FAVORITE!!!! The food is FANTASTIC and the staff is beyond friendly!! We love everything about this place!!! 💚💚

OMG. Order the #3. Chicken, rice, black beans, maduros, salsa all together on your fork. Heavenly. My wife and I shared the meal too. The bread is amazing too. And it's inexpensive for the amount of food you get.

This restaurant is a unique experience for sure. A nice change from the other Cuban restaurants in the area because they also offer Spanish dishes. Seafood is cooked nicely. Objectively, well prepared food. My only problem is that I didn't love and revel in eating the food - possibly personal preference, but I would recommend trying for yourself and I can see what draws people to this restaurant and appreciate what it brings to the area.
