So good. So good. Loved the food. Wife liked her drink.

I had a similar experience to Christopher Woody’s review. The waitress was “hostile”. When i walked in i got snapped at, then she also told me to sit at this wobbly back table. Which was dirty. I am not a needy customer or difficult. But the place was dead and she couldn’t be bothered. Her focus was standing in the corner obsessing with her phone. If the place was slammed or busy i could understand her being grumpy. But she did not appear to have the appropriate temperament for waitressing or something else is going on, need training? I tried being super friendly “killed her with kindness” and by the time i paid she was a little less rude. (im a former server). I ordered the lamb shank, which was dry, tough and the meat was still cold near the bone (microwaved?). Worst lamb shank ive ever had, and it’s one of my favorite foods to eat. The overall experience was absolutely terrible. The place is in a great location and has tons of potential.

It's almost a true Irish bar. The bartender was wearing I think an Irish kilt.

very very rude server...snapped, not asked, "can i help you?" ummm we were hoping to get something to eat? "just sit at the back table and i will get to you when i can" hoping to sit at the bar? " i dont serve food at the bar" there was one customer in the place, sitting at the bar...at lunchtime...i wonder why? we turned around and walked out response to the owner...thanks for responding and thanks for asking...it was yesterday weds 8/14 1215-30... the one word my husband and i agree to with regards to your server is "hostile"

The food was amazing! We will be eating here the next time we are in Solvang. The Mac and cheese was too die for and I highly recommend getting some ranch to dip your fries into. It's the best ranch I've ever had and I don't even like ranch.

Walked in happy to get there and received with a sour face from the waitress employee. She was more concerned with her phone. Dropped the menus on our table. Then we Walked out. They didn't walk our patronage. No A/C.

As much as I would like to provide a good review, sadly I can't. This is NOT a pub; wearing a kilt and having semi-irish decor does not a pub make. They were out of quite a few items - buns, meats - so were stuck with substitutes. 3-4 beer taps were empty as well so ordered bottle beer which was the best part of the experience. But our burger.... it was horrible. Very bland. Fries are clump wedges of potatoes. Not tasteful at all. Mac and cheese..... have tasted better out of the box purchased at dollar store with a past due expiration date. Nice enough chap working the bar but just can't recommend this place. The room was essentially empty so no burden on kitchen staff. Maybe an off day so up to the tepid traveller to venture in.

We waited at the entrance for 20 mins, with nobody taking us to be seated. There was no rush, the lady who was serving/bartending asked us to wait when we tried seating ourselves (there were 4 free tables) and continued with her work. We just left eventually since clearly they didn’t need more brown customers :)

Looks like they’re totally into discrimination on the basis of colour.

Service was excellent! It was a slow day for them, but the bartender took great care of us and entertained as he got more tables. We had a party of 8 with 2 kids. Gave my niece a stick on tattoo. She was so excited! All the food was great! Will be back when in Solvang.

Firstly, service was awesome. 20% tip. That said the Ruben was unspectacular, served on flat rye, with entirely too much meat with entirely too much connective tissue – it was a serious challenge to bite off a piece. The pulled pork sandwich, simply disintegrated, rendering it more of a pulled pork salad with a side of two broken buns. Entirely too much barbecue sauce much too sweet and highly acidic. Do not recommend either of these meals when dining at Fitzpatrick.

Jody… I have some concerns with your review. As a customer I just enjoyed a delicious calamari starter and bangers and mash. Delicious. Better than that was the owner Sam and Melissa who always make you feel welcome and cared for! The other patrons are fun to talk too as well. Bottom line it was a wonderful time!

This place served old rotten calamari that was inedible. It was incredibly fishy and sour. Not the way calamari is supposed to taste. I let management know and they refused to refund or replace the item. Even though the food was clearly past its sell date and inedible. My poor mother ate a few pieces and had food poisoning all day. Terrible customer service and bad food.

Small bar with the BEST cuisine. Sheppards Pie, Chicken Pot pie. Best Onion Rings on Earth…No Joke! Anything you order is great quality. Excellent wine selection and any other drinks you prefer. Don’t miss this little gem. Not the Ritz, BETTER!

The food was delicious. Our server seemed to not like his job, although he had a nice kilt. I was gonna get another beer, but he never came over to ask how we were doing

The Salmon Burger was just not it. The fries were pretty good (they're big chumps of potatoes). Waitress was really nice!

tl;dr: unprofessional behavior, slow service, mid fries I made a mistake reading the menu. Had to send back the food due to having ALLERGIES to an ingredient feeling bad and the manager came and gave me a menu pointing out what I misread on the menu. I apologized and felt bad but he then proceeded to tell OTHER CUSTOMERS and be loud about the instance. Made me feel really UNCOMFORTABLE knowing that he was talking bad about me out-loud to everybody. Mistakes happen and I felt bad but it’s inappropriate to be bad mouthing a customer. Then when we asked him for the bill, we never got it and had to ask another waiter for it. The fries weren’t great either. It wasn’t like I was asking for the meal to be taken off the bill so it was surprising to be met with such bad behavior.

The server was great, but the food was only so-so. I had the fish and chips and my wife had Sheperd's pie - Irish staples. Unfortunately, neither were particularly good. The fish was chewy and the portion smaller than at most other Irish pubs. The Shepherd's pie had an ample portion, but not much taste.

Absolutely horrible service. It took 15 minutes to get any help, an additional 15 minutes to get our waters, and then only half of our tables order was taken. Irish nachos were pathetic. Don’t get them. Horrible service all around. Food was grossly undercooked and now all of our party has the runs. Thank you for the horrible service!

A typical tavern or pub featuring fairly good food. The fish and chips were excellent - the fish was mild and flaky. The coleslaw that was on the side was bland - just tasted like mayonnaise and cabbage. The Irish Nachos were very good with corned beef on top of fresh cut potsto slices.

Great Irish Pub... Great for a dram and a pint. Pub food and a little more. Service is great and it's a festive place in a great location. Summer time concerts across the street in the park make it even better.

I get fish and chips everywhere i travel. My husband doesn't usually like it a much as i do, but this time he said it was the best he had ever had. The fish was perfectly cooked and flaky. Our server had the whole place and she was friendly and spot on with whatever we needed

Offer a bathroom for people spending money. Also. You shouldn’t be allowed to call this place a tavern. Irish pub with no Irish whiskey.. lame. Your bartender made sure to tell Me that it was because the owners can’t afford the liquor license. Also another guest made sure to direct us to a real bar. This town is lame

Friendly, fast service from Sam, the owner, in a very traditional Irish pub setting. Of course I had the fish and chips, which was spectacular, and my girl had corn chowder in a bread bowl. Excellent prices, fast kitchen. A great little spot off the main drag in Solvang!

Washed up hag of a bartender(blonde woman) said no service for us. Walked in at 700pm. Never will go there again. But will make calls.to health inspectors, etc

We ate here 2 nights because the food was home cooking (shepherds pie, chicken pot pie) as well as burgers etc, the service was good, and both the food and drinks were reasonably priced. ESPN on the TV and rock music playing in the background.

The food was very horrible, the wings had many feathers ... the Caesar salad was not good, the place is very cozy nice, beautiful view .. we ordered "mojitos" drinks were very bad. I don't recommend the food or the cocktails.

I left ireland 9 years ago, and this is the first irish pub I've been to that felt like home. Food is great, the fries are exactly like a good irish chipper makes and the staff are great

What a fantastic find my wife made. We came in with a party of 4 + 1 toddler on what seemed like a really busy day for Solvang (end of year after Christmas, on a Friday). Despite the unfortunate setback of being short staffed, the food that came out was outstanding. Fantastic Irish beer selection on draft. Chicken pot pie hit all the right notes. The pulled pork sandwich was tender high quality and well prepared. Friendly staff. Can't wait to come back next time we're in Solvang.

I waited over an hour to get seated. The longer we waited, the more seats opened up but no one in front of us was seated. They had 2 waitresses but they did not seem in any rush to seat us. We overheard they stopped serving food at 730. There were a lot of people waiting but no one came out to us to let us know or engage with us at all. When we finally got inside, they took the order of a party that arrived after we did. Overall, this was a colossal waste of our time. Response: We waited over an hour so it's definitely not the waiting. It's the poor communication and service.

Knocked off two stars because of the poor service. The female waitress is unfriendly, slow, and she completely ignores you when you walk in. No one else was waiting ahead of us and we stood there for 10min, unacknowledged. We walked directly to her and then she gave us attitude for not waiting longer. Just say “hi, give us 5min” etc. it’s not hard. The same thing repeated with the group that came after us. I mostly blame the female worker since the bartender had his hands full. Once we sat, the bartender became our waiter instead and he was more attentive than she was but he was busy. The food and drinks were good. I really liked the chicken pot pie and my husband liked his fish and chips. It’s a shame your wait staff doesn’t care.

Waited an hour before waitress addressed us to say they were closing kitchen in a half hour. Never pointed it out while the line was out the door. Did not hand us menus and then proceeded to take orders of the other patrons sat AFTER us. Edit: owner responds to each negative review by blaming the patron versus taking criticism. Even though we did not eat, I wish that I could have. It smelled amazing, and the shepherds pie looked to die for. Gives us all the reason to go back. Friendly staff, good drinks.

I recently visited Solvang for the first time and I ordered the fish 'n chips plate; which came with coleslaw. Pretty good food, no complaints. The place is fairly clean BUT the kitchen is clean and that speaks volumes to me. Service was a little slow but considering I was there on a Saturday night in between the holiday seasons. The bathroom set-up is a little weird too but otherwise not bad. I would eat there again.

Excellent chicken pot pie. I will try the lamb shank next.

UPDATE! It's not often that a restaurant gives an explanation as to why the service was bad. For the gentleman to explain what the issues were goes a long way with me so I'm changing my original rating. For the party that skipped out, shame on you. You will reap what you sow. Original comments as follows: We were there for the weekend and went to the tree lighting ceremony and decided to go eat here afterwards. I have never been there before so naturally I asked questions but the waitress was so dismissive. I get that they were busy but she and the guy with the mohawk and kilt were so rude. They were fighting with each other in front of the customers. Then he shouted that they were not going to take people who wanted to eat because of an apparent mix up with some checks. those that were waiting for a table looked as though they were confused. Anytime anyone walked in, he would shout, "Just sit anywhere that you could find boss and we'll get to you when we can!" I get that it was a busy night and probably shorthanded handed as the guy yelled at a customer saying that they were but maybe keep that to yourself or maybe say, " I'm sorry, we're shorthanded and will get to you as soon as possible" but yelling at each other makes for an uncomfortable atmosphere. Our waitress left off an item we ordered but we couldn't tell her because she never came back again although she did cater to the locals. I felt bad for anyone who asked a question because they got snapped at. Food was very good though. Very good! Oh, their website Says they take reservations, but they don't. They will accept it, but when we arrived the waitress said, " read the fine print" then walked away saying, "Get in line"

We had a delicious meal and a fabulous time!!! We would have come back again if we were still in town....

We arrived around 7:10pm, waited 10 minutes for a table. Ordered Guinness, then food. The lamb shank was a little tough, but better than most. I would love to be there on March 17.

After a long day of travel and maybe a lot of drinking, I really needed a hearty meal! The atmosphere in here was chill, nice mix of locals and tourists. The food service was quick and generous! The man working who I assume is the owner was really on his game and you could tell he truly cares about the place!! I appreciate his animated personality!! My food was good, I would say that the coke slaw didn’t have much flavor but everything else made up for it! Glad to have this meal on a cold and rainy night!

The chicken pop pie was really bad I was really disappointed 😭 the crust was undercooked and it was watery filling, and really expensive

It was a nice bar, good place to get a beer, food was ok, the chicken pot pie was cooked on top but everything was cold and raw on the inside , definitely won't order that again if I go there again.

My husband and I shared the fish and chips cuz we weren't that hungry and we also had one of their Specialties for the night which was pumpkin cheesecake and it was delicious. Service was really good very attentive waiter. The fish and the Fish and Chips were quite a bit small though they were maybe two to three inches which I was expecting the typical larger pieces but they were still tasty they were served with the typical tartar sauce and a good side of coleslaw.

Stayed at Solvang for a night and found this place for a Lunch time drink and later for Dinner! It was a great place with a very good atmosphere! The food we had was all Irish based and very Tasty. We were there on a Monday and it shuts at 8pm but the Nice girl closing us let us sit for a while until she had cleared up.

Chicken pot pie was good, though the service was unfriendly, maybe girl bartender was having a bad day? Place doesn't have a full liquor license, so don't expect a whisky, martini, or anything with hard liquor. Would I return: all signs point to, not likely.

The host was friendly and knowledgeable of the town. We ordered a pot pie good size for 2 people.

My husband had Fish & Chips ...so delicious & fresh. We tried Poutin Fries for the first time. Loved them. I had the Soup Bowl in Sourdough Bread delicious as well. Very good service. Can't wait to go back.

What a great afternoon at this place. Yummy food, great beer and fun vibes. The mud pie and fish and chips are a must. Make sure you grab a drink and a snack if you’re in town.

Sat down and had menus dropped off. After 20 minutes no one returned to offer drinks or ask if we are ready to order. Not busy at all. Finally walked out without ordering.

We went to this bar twice in two nights and I coul not be more positive about it. Fabulous service, lovely people and atmosphere. Sorry to say I had the Shepherds Pie twice, what can I say my heritage is part Irish ☘️. I love an authentic Irish experience and genuine people who serve a great product to families!

The food was awesome. I had the American cheese burger. The waitress was very freindly and totally on the ball. We never even had to ask for more to drink.

Only came in for a couple drinks. Bartender was friendly and helpful.

Love this traditional feeling Irish pub. From the amazing service to the incredible food (fish & chips, Reuben, cold beers, and perfectly made cocktails). Must visit. The bartender/server/all things front of house, Lisa, was attentive, friendly, and overall awesome. What a gem of a staff member for a restaurant with amazing food and environment. Highly recommend this gem!

Visiting from SoCal. Heard about FT from a fellow worker saying they had great food. I had the fish n chips, wife had rueben. This is some of the best FnC and Rueben we've ever had

Fabulous touch of Irish in a Danish town

We had lunch here after our hotel (The New Haven Inn) had them on a list of recommended places to eat. The service was incredible, friendly and fast, even though the server (Sam) was the only one there. He was managing the whole place with a bunch of people dining and there was no delay in service at all. Highly recommend this place, the food was great, service the best.

The food here was amazing and the service was friendly. I'll definitely make this place a regular stop whenever I am in the area.

Fitzpatrick's was a nice change while I was visiting Solvang. The restaurant has a very cool Irish pub design and vibe. The food had a nice Irish touch too. I'll be back.

Everyone is right about how this place is managed. Friday night at a pub...ONE bar tender/waiter/bus working both inside and patio. Wow that one guy really worked his butt off! If you come here be patient. The food is really good and comes pretty fast once your able to get your order in. Good beer selection.

Very cool little Irish pub nearby everything. The beer was great and the food was good. Not the best I've tasted, but not the worst. The supposed 14 hour pork didn't taste like it - it was still kinda hard. Ambience was tasteful. I came during Thursday so not a whole ton of people. Service was a bit lacking, but then again it was just the bartender for the whole front. Would come back next time I'm in town.

We stop here every time we're in town for the nachos (which are served on fried potatoes, instead of tortilla chips), chicken pot pie, and shepherd's pie. So good!

If you're thinking about eating here, do it. Great food and drinks. It's the chicken pot pie and margaritas for me. Nice way to end the day at Solvang.

Fantastic 👌 I had their Dubliner burger and it's one of the best burgers I've ever had. A small local pub with great service 👍 give them a try. I know I'll go back next time I'm in the area.

Went in for lunch and drink around 1pm on Thursday and the young lady tending the bar was great! We ordered the Shepherds pie and it was delicious!

Our server was great, short staffed and still managed to give us great service!! So welcoming and accommodating with our toddler too! Definitely going back!

This place was really underwhelming. I stopped here because I saw that it had great reviews and they didnt look too busy. The service was just okay, there really was only just one person who was waiting tables and bartending the entire time. You can imagine how that went. The food was hit or miss - the burger was good but the mash potatoes tasted really bland (like the kind that come from a bag that you just add water to).

Got the kids Shaely Temple (much like the Shirley) and the loved it. I think the Celtic Hurricane is now my favorite drink. The food was delicious. Had the Spicy Melt, philly cheesesteak and the Shepards pie. Everything was delicious. And service was impeccable! Lisa was up and down helping everyone out getting everything out quickly. I dont come to Solvang much, but if youre in the area its a must try!

As always, wherever you go, first search the Irish pub on Google map, check the reviews carefully, and order Guinness and Irish coffee + chip first. I'm checking how to pour Guinness beer, drink a little Irish coffee, see the state of the french fries, If all good then order main food right away or visit again on another day Here beer was good and chip was good ,but Irish coffee was not for us ,,,, Excellent French fries !!!

Ordered the Reuben with a mule cocktail. The food and atmosphere was fantastic. REUBEN lived up to the expectations and more ... I can say by far the best I have had. Will be driving from Downey to Solvang just for this. Thank you Sam.

We arrived on a busy holiday weekend. The service was great. Very attentive despite being busy. We had Irish nachos as an appetizer. Delicious and pack with fixings. We had as our main course fish and chips, shepherds pie and chicken pot pie. Everyone cleaned their plates. My fish an chips was so tasty and filling with homemade coleslaw.

The drinks, service and atmosphere were great, but the food was average.

A quaint little restaurant/pub with excellent food. We had the fish and chips, and the short ribs. Both were delicious. The fish practically melted in our mouths. The Guinness reduction on the short ribs was sublime. The sides were all tasty, too.

Amazing Rueben sandwich! Took a star off because our welcome was less than warming and the service was initially very slow. One table got up and left without being served. Guess they're short-staffed, but no excuse for not communicating and still smiling really big.

It was early afternoon on a Friday. A Friday! In a tourist town known for catering to folks coming in for the weekend. The sign out front told us to use "this entrance" to avoid people going into the adjoining patio because, apparently, there was only one bartender-server-attendant on duty. She word a Corona t-shirt and sported flat brimmed baseball cap that did not scream "Irish bar." We went to sit at the bar at which point she asked if we were going to have any food. Yes, we said at which point she said, "Well we don't serve food at the bar so you will have to sit in a booth." Mind you she is standing behind the bar. It would have seemed to me that her job would be easier if she didn't have to cater to us in a booth but, okay, we sat down in a booth. Not being sure we wanted to stay, I ordered a Kilkenny beer (which they claim to be one of the few establishments that carry it) and my wife ordered a red wine. We then ordered calamari thinking we could have an appetizer here and then go somewhere else more inviting. The calamari was nicely presented with them piled high on a lettuce leaf, accompanied by a spicy salsa (not cocktail sauce). There was plenty of it, but it was more breading than squid so it was almost like eating French fries. A major disappointment but what did I expect from an Irish bar? I am going to call this an average "bar." If all you want to do is drink, this might serve the purpose. In fairness the bartender was very pleasant. But even before we were done eating she announced there was going to be a shift change and the next thing we knew, she was gone.

Server was alone for the entire tavern. She did her best. Not gonna take anything away from here.. I did see in the kitchen there were 2 cooks. Got the BBQ wings. Probably the worst I've ever had in my life. Overcooked down to the bone. It was harder than the carrots that came with it. Calamari was 3 out of 5 at best. Crunchy.. but that's it. Dublin burger: well, the buns needed to retire. I didn't know whether it's a biscuit or a bun. They literally powdered after I took a bite. I'm hoping it was just one of those "bad days" coz I've read good reviews with their food.

We stopped in for some lunch and had the chicken pot pie, fish & chips, chicken wings, and some adult beverages. Everything was quite good and tasted great, except the wings were a bit overcooked and dried out. The drinks were also quite good, and creative choices to boot. Staff was very friendly and attentive as well. Overall a great experience and we would certainly come back and try some of their other menu items as well.

Great music selection, the bar tender was excellent, the food amazing. The pot pie is a must. Will come back to try other dishes.

My family and I came here to have a pint of Guinness before lunch. Our bartender was not personable at all. Upon serving us, she took back our beers to remove the head with a spoon. I've never seen that before. You should leave about 1" of foam or head on your beer. I'm not sure if that caused it to taste flat but after that we paid and left. We ended up going to the Brewery down the road to eat.
