We have always loved flat top. Service was great, Matteo was on top of service and anyone who touched the table was great. Away from the table the vibe is...lax. I want to continue to love this place but my food was undercooked and my husband got food poisoning. We prefer to remember this place with fond memories so I don't think we will be going back.

It was the service I was the most impressed with our server Sydney, was extremely attentive, friendly and genuinely interested in her job and customers. If I had 10 stars, she would get all of them. I am not sure I can say the same about the food though, good thing is sriracha make everything better. You can customize your own bowl, pick your veggies, pick your proteins and pick your sauces and adjust to your spice levels. Veggie bar was fresh and amazing! The roti comes with everything and it does taste good. Overall 3/5

Flat top grill has been a family favorite for years and I am glad this location opened up again. The food is delicious and great service. The main highlight of this place is you can make your own bowl, picking ingredients from a huge variety of freshly chopped vegetables, sauces (vegan included), meat, etc. there is a lot to choose from. Kids had a wonderful experience doing this and loved the creation once the chef stir fried your creation and sent it over to your table. The roti/bread is crispy and yummy. Kids can choose a small bowl. The service was great and timely. I took a star out for 1 small reason as we were asked in the beginning if we wanted to add cheese to our bowl and not told that that was at additional price. I will recommend not adding cheese as it doesn't go with the Asian stir fries. Other than that, awesome service. I will recommend everyone to go and will go again whenever I am in downtown.

The food and experience was really bad. We ordered the ramen and drunken noodles. The ramen was overpowered by mushrooms and not fresh at all. The drunken noodles were not at all what they were supposed to be. By calling the food fusion this restaurant hopes to get away with serving subpar food. Service was not great either

Had the drunken noodles. They were awful and the waiter didn’t check on us. The chicken and meat was awful. Definitely will never be back.

Wanted to like this place based on other reviews. Service was fine. Quality of meat was not good which was disappointing.

Worst dining experience ever! On Friday night when restaurant is supposed to close at 11 they had already shut more than half the place so we were made to sit right by the food bar which by that time was filthy dirty. The floor had noodles and rice all over, water spilt in a few spots and no one to clean it. Our server was sweet but clueless. Added two dishes to the order that we didn’t ask for thankfully we caught it in time. Ordered the red curry that was like fried rice basically and no one explained to us this was their ‘version of red curry’ as the manager told us later. Offered to take it off the bill but didn’t end up doing it. The lobster fried rice was good. Totally spoilt Friday evening visit to Chicago! Pictures are misleading

AMAZING food and service!!!! One of my favorite restaurants in Chicago. Victor was our waiter and was awesome as well!!!!

Came in around 2:20, so the lunch crowd had died down. I chose the make your own bowl option. They have you put on gloves for sanitary reasons, which I liked. They had two sides to use with everything you could imagine to put into your bowl. The cost wasn't expensive but most of the items like noodles and rice were empty. They you fill your bowl and drop it off to the chef with your ticket, and once it's done, your waiter will bring it back to your table. Victor gave great service. I was full and there was no room for dessert. Could have been some seasoning to put on my food.

Even though the packages have changed. Kevin was amazing. He was understanding, patient and extremely helpful.

I got the 3 protein fried rice. Too much peanut butter was put in where that’s all I could taste. My gf got the Bangkok noodles. The chicken in both tasted funky and fishy like out of a can but worse. Made my stomach upset for the whole day. Service was slow, and the waiter didn’t bring the drinks until halfway through the meal. He also brought refills on the drinks at the end of the meal with the check.

It's not like I remember. COVID started the change, but I believe the change continued because it was more cost-effective for the business. The meat that you use to be able to pile into one bowl is now managed by the cook. I don't plan to come back.

Been coming here for years and by far had the best service with Austin! He was upbeat & friendly, on top of things, and made our experience great! Definitely one of my go to restaurants for a healthy & delicious meal!

Kevin was our server on Wed. night at 8pm. He was super-friendly, and the food he recommended was amazing! Would highly recommend this restaurant to everyone! You absolutely get a LOT of food for your money! The ROTI bread is awesome and comes with the signature rice bowl. Thanks, Kevin! 10 STARS!

NOT the same as it used to be. But, I would recommend this place. Make sure you get a bowl. The BEST sauces to use are flat top, barbque, and drunken. A GREAT combination

HORRIBLE FOOD! How did this place get 4 stars?!?! The steak and chicken taste and feel like they were boiled and then grilled to grill marks added. The fried rice was on the verge of becoming porridge. The flavors are pretty sub par. Definitely nothing special, definitely not 4 stars, and definitely not recommending!

First time i had bad experience with flattop gril at webash ave chicago. Am in middle of meal and ask for the water to the steward Austin. He didn’t bring the water for long time almost like more than 30 min. When he came back at the end of the meal, i reminded him for water. He said extremely rudely that it was so crowded so he could not able bring the water and he left the table harshly without giving water neither the check. I would say worst service.

Management is needs major improvement. Birthday promo says BOGO. Promo says on email ONLY VALID ON MONTH OF BIRTHDAY. That email was sent may 21st. I went in on June 22nd (birthday is June 4th). Management won’t honor promo cause it was one day past the month the promo was sent out and the link said it was expired. How was I supposed to know that the promo was valid for 30 days from received when it says only valid in birth month. I tried to have a conversation with the manager but they weren’t going to budge so I paid and won’t be going back to this location. Issue isn’t with paying, it’s with management skills. Any decent manager would have honored the promotion. Overall the food was good and the place was clean.

My friends and I were in the area and this was our first time trying this restaurant. The food here was amazing and our server was even better! She was kind and helpful while also having some humor which my friends and I enjoyed.

The staff were very kind, I want to start with that. But that was really the only thing the place had going for it. They were understaffed, didn't have good processes, the food was mediocre, and despite asking for gluten free, they put bread on top of the dish - even though that wasn't mentioned on the menu at all. The wait for to-go food was very long (likely due to being short staffed) and they weren't consistent about collecting names so my food waited on the counter while two people who came in 15 minutes after me got their food. The hellfire shrimp wasn't very good, I got it with less spicy sauce than normal, but even if it were spicier, the dish just didn't have a good flavor, I couldn't taste most of the ingredients that the menu listed.

Flat top grill remains to this day one of my all time favorite restaurants. Whenever I am in chicago I make sure to stop in for a meal. I hope they can reopen some more locations.

I got the chicken with potatoes and white rice and corn , the chicken was on and the potatoes wasn’t even fully cooked and it had a weird aftertaste to it . I picked this place to eat and brought 3 other customers to your establishment we order online to expedite the lunch due to time, we were told we could not eat indoors even after we gave you tips (mine was 20%) when we order that is not right you lost more than four customers we will share our experience.

The restaurant was beautiful in atmosphere but the food was average at best. Food was nothing special for the price, the waiter was nice but slow. I have paid less for better food. I will not be going back to this establishment.

First thing to do when I visit Chicago is going to Flat Top Grill. I like the experience of creating my own bowl and add my favorite sauces vegetables. Their dishes and starters are great and delicious, but creating your own noodle or rice dish is a different experience. You can add few $ to make it unlimited bowls! The service is nice with a welcoming attitude.

So I finally found the restaurant name after it went viral on Facebook!!!!! Very very fresh GOOD tasting food!!! It’s been over 10 years since I’ve been and I STILL crave & think about it til this day. Unfortunately I’ve moved out of Chicago but now I CANNOT wait to visit to eat here again. I love this place. I used to go to the one on north Southport but it was closed. You can’t go wrong with the buffet eat what you want and they cook your meat however you want. This the place you want to keep on going back. The stuff are super friendly. A must try, you will love it.

FIX YOUR ONLINE ORDERING APPS I am a huge fan of flat top, but sometimes I don’t have the time to come in to eat. I prefer to order online delivery. BUT - there’s something missing when creating your own bowl.. EDAMAME. I know it’s available to put into the bowls when in the restaurant in person. So why is it missing from online orders ? half the time when I ask in the order note to add it- it gets ignored… please fix the online ordering app options and allow it to be added to your bowl. Thank you.

I really enjoy the food here, I just take issue with the website & how it's run. Me and onother people I know that frequently order through the site have constant issues with either different or even missing items from our orders. I know it's because of the site because this never happens when I'm there in person. I also dislike how incredibly inconvenient it is for both me & staff when attempting to order edamame. The site has it unlisted as an add on when its still very clearly on the menu. Yes it sounds very picky, but why is it my fault if something isn't there & I call to add it, which clearly annoys the staff. I don't like being talked to as if I'm asking to change my entire order last minute or making some other ridiculous request when I just want to add something to my meal that SHOULD be on the website. Adding to the order notes rarely helps/feels like a 50/50 shot of getting what I want or completely missing basic items from my order(s). Please, fix the site so I don't have to do this anymore.

Wanted a poke bowl with no tomato, tuna for protein, and gochujang chili sauce. This did not happen, there was tomato, tofu instead of tuna, and no sauce. Someone at the restaurant didn’t read the order.

Terrible Experience at Flat Top Grill Wabash location. Our recent visit to Flat Top Grill was marred by disorganization, discriminatory treatment, and a lack of professionalism. Despite being seated promptly, we were confronted by a rude manager who forbade sharing and insisted on charging us extra for our child's meal. Despite our compliance, we were charged excessively for food we barely touched. The manager's lack of professionalism and refusal to address our concerns left us feeling unwelcome and dissatisfied. We urge others to steer clear of this establishment until significant changes are made.

We were just at this restaurant. After we came in, no one met us, we waited for 5 minutes, although it wasn't busy. After landing, a waitress came to us, we asked to wait 3 minutes to choose a dish. As a result, the waiter came to us in about 10 minutes. We asked for water without ice, and in the end she brought water with ice. We waited for the soup for 30 minutes, but when it was brought, it was not hot and tasteless. Huge pieces of chicken swam in the meat, but the waiter just offered to give us a knife. We would look like stupid people who cut soup with a knife. Chicken pasta was also tasteless, my husband and I ordered the same thing, but his dish looked pale. Everything was hot, but the meat was cold. We spend 1 and half hours , it’s too much I am very sorry for this woman waitress

This was my first visit to Flat Top Grill. I really enjoyed the experience and found the food to be very good and the prices to be reasonable. My only criticism would be that the silverware was cheap. It seems inconsequential but I think they can afford to buy some grown up silverware. Our server's name was Austin and he was friendly and nice and deserves an A+.

Fresh food, great steak, superb service! Ask for Kevin!! We haven’t been to Flattop in years. We came for my husband’s birthday. My mother-in-law was extremely apprehensive but Kevin made her feel so at ease! His service and attention to detail made this a fantastic experience. (** I even forgot my phone and he literally ran down the block to bring it to me! What a great guy!!)

The chicken ramen in miso broth was soo good. Kevin was a very attentive and friendly server. Overall Just such a positive visit. Will definitely revisit.

I absolutely love Flattop’s on Wabash, it has become a regular tradition for me to enjoy great food in a great atmosphere with my daughters. The manager Cindy has the best personality and her customer service was exceptional. I love how clean the place is and the fact that she interacts with her customers made me feel right at home. My server Victor was also great he made sure we had everything we needed and he kept checking on me and my family. I will definitely come back again and again. Great Job Wabash..

The staff & manager didn't have the best attitudes. They were very short, snappy & rude. I understand the restaurant was crowds, but not understaffed. Two of the meals/bowls had hair & strange objects in it.

Servers and manager blatantly discriminated against us because of our race. When we complained of longer waits than tables of other ethnicities around us, we were told what do you expect it's busy. We were accused of trying to steal for using 2 bowls--but we ordered unlimited bowls. When we stated that to the person who tool our order...instead of apologzing...he said...well we were just letting you know.

The food here is ok...not as good as it used to be. But the service was horrible. Me and my companion were being watched as if we were going to dine and dash, then the waiter took it upon himself to add a 25% gratuity to the check. Last time I checked, unless I am in a high-end restaurant, gratuity is based on the service provided.

This was my 1st time eating here; it was decent I feel like it was a bit too pricey for what is offered. However I must say that service compensated
