Had breakfast here 2 mornings. Decor is nice, place is clean and bright. Servers were efficient. Nice buffet choices. Good eggs and sausage.

We stayed at the hotel and had drinks and apps on the patio, then returned for dinner in the dining room. The service was atrocious. The servers had entirely too many tables per person. The outside server was at least apologetic and kind while running around. The inside server could have cared less about any of her tables. Zero personality or care shown for customers. We were never given the opportunity to order drinks and even when she was at our table, she was not paying attention to us. The food was fine, definitely not worth the cost. It was our last night in Alaska and not the way we wanted to go out. Would not recommend eating here.

Amazing! We had stuffed halibut. The staff was so fun and friendly. Two of the waiters were from Croatia. Matija and Vex. They treated my wife and I like we were celebrities. So much fun. Will definitely go back.

The food was delicious. The service was good, with a beautiful view.

Food quality was amazing and only surpassed by our hard working and very friendly server, Rita! Try the Seafood Benedict and the fruit and yogurt parfait.

I couldn't find this place at first driving in the area and then found it in the Lakefront Lodge. There are so many windows and the view is spectacular, even in snow, ice and overcast conditions. All the staff were very friendly. I ordered the Alaskan seafood benedict with a side of fruit and it was very delicious. Relaxing, enjoyable breakfast. ($4 for hot tea {Lipton} is a bit high is the only drawback.)

We used our breakfast vouchers everyday for breakfast. Good portions on the weekdays and weekends is breakfast buffet.

We enjoyed eating here with friends! I had the fish (halibut) and chips which was so delicious. The portion was more than adequate and it was served with delicious tarter sauce and a lemon wedge. The service was also great! We loved looking at the wildlife placed throughout the lobby of the lodge. A really neat place to enjoy as you tour Alaska!

The food was really good! I ordered the sweet and spicy halibut. The halibut and chips was also amazing!

We ate breakfast here twice. The buffet was lovely and what we had expected. Our second breakfast we ordered from the menu. Our server was quick, efficient and friendly. The food was generous and tasty. It was definitely enjoyable eating and watching the planes taking off from the lake.

Get beer and enjoy the view, the food tastes better at gas stations

This establishment is definitely designed more as a buffet for the hotel. That said, the buffet is very expensive. The order up meals are more approachable priced, but the options are very slim. We got the salmon lox, and they were exceptional. Service was a bit disjointed, but still positive. Atmosphere was great with a good view of the lake where pontoon planes were actively taking off.

Was here in January on vacation @ stayed at this hotel. Our reservation came with vouchers for the restaurant so we got good use out of that. It was so convenient being just downstairs & actually quite good! The food was tasty & fresh, no complaints over here. The sourdough pancakes were really soft & moist & I especially liked the jam it came with! Coffee was always hot & plentiful. Service was short staffed some times but they made due & did a fabulous job. Thank you!

Used to be the best breakfast in Anchorage. Now… avoid on weekends at all costs! Horrible breakfast buffet on weekends. $25/head for a very lackluster, poorly prepared spread. The a la carte menu used to be 10/10! Now, this mess… soggy food, rock hard French toast, plastic spoons, plastic drinkware. SAD.

Beautiful restaurant inside the hotel with water views. Great for large groups. Impeccable service. Watch the sea planes take off and land.

Have a beer, enjoy the view. Skip the food and make yourself a PBJ or a frozen pizza.

LMAO, I worked at the Flying Machine in 78/79. It was a strange up throwback disco. Absolutely wild. The whole place was just one building, nothing like today. Great time, great friends unforgettable memories! Yours truly, "Boston"

Had Alaskan King Crab & Artichoke dip & Bison Burger. Crab dip was delicious. Bison burger didn't taste much different than a normal beef burger, sadly !! Unfortunately it wasn't all that busy but the server covered a very large area. She did the best she could.

Based on visits time and again, I'd say that, overall, this restaurant has the best breakfast in Anchorage. The coffee is good, food is served hot and in generous portions, and they have a fruit option which is consistently fresh. With one or two small exceptions, staff is highly professional and friendly, there are great views, and there's a nice ambience. Definitely worth a visit.

Food? Excellent. The best Chicken Fried Steak Ever! Service? Prompt, courteous, and friendly. Location/Ambiance? Excellent view of Lake Spenard planes. DOGS IN RESTAURANT???? THIS IS AN ABSOLUTE NO GO FOR ME! Why would you allow any NON-SERVICE dogs into ANY eating establishment? "Hey waiter...is this Canine Fur in my country gravy?" A little to country for me.

The breakfast food comes from pre-made trays they keep in the kitchen. Expect to pay restaurant prices for buffet tray food. Our waitress was nice, but can't recommend the food.

Loved the street tacos I ordered. They also had a lot of good cocktail choices. I had the Alaskan mojito. We were there on a rainy day, so we didn't get to see many planes coming & going.

Great Breakfast! Food was excellent, service was solid, and prices were reasonable by Alaska standards.

Ordered the crab stuffed halibut and was told it was fresh. It was probably the worst halibut I'd ever had it tasted very dried out and lack of flavor. I would almost guarantee it was cooked frozen and then reheated in a microwave. I'm not giving this review 1 star mainly because management was very great and gave us a refund which was respectable. Also on a good note the breakfast is actually pretty good.

Its over priced.....I got the salmon stuffed crab and wasn't all that. The vegetables were undercooked as well. Really crunchy...but fpr nearly a 50.00 dinner plus an old fashioned well....last time for.me. it wasn't worth that much seriously go somewhere else. A big portion though desent sized but still, the drink was really strong and good too. Why I'm giving a 4 star.

Service was quick and enjoyed my scramble and coffee. Although cloudy and rainy, I enjoyed the nice view of Lake Hood/Spenard. They have a side coffee shop where you can order your favorite latte or specialty coffee as well.

The server would not seat my family. He said he only had 2 cooks because everyone in the kitchen left for the airport. The restaurant was not busy at all. I heard from other guest that everyday they have a different excuse but this one was the best.

Love this hotel and its resources for guests. The lobby is relaxing and roomy all by its self. Perfect for digesting the travel mood while checking in . .

Nicely styled restaurant inside the Lakefront Hotel. The menu was kind of basic though, and there are those Dennys style tables- much too simple for a place sitting on the water with a great view. Service was excellent though. Ana P. was our server and tended to us as if we were the only ones there. I had the Prime Rib and one of Alaska's many fine beers! Thank you Ana!

If you ever thank have the chance to stop in to this restaurant located in The Lake Front Lodge you must. And hands down ask for Rita to be your server. She is on point, friendly, extremely attentive and ensures your time at her table is perfect. Oh yea and the food is delicious as well.

The house salads were really fresh and the blue cheese dressing was quite tasty 😋 We really enjoyed the halibut fish & chips and one basket was enough to share. Super friendly service! Got to watch the float planes come and go.

Should have been more..nice bar and restaurant with great view of small planes flying and landing on water. Hurt my shortage of help and limited seating. Drinks okay -no chef one day

The bloody mary with bacon was yummy and the fish tacos were good. There is also a nice view of planes taking off from the water. The staff was also nice.

I am pretty sure this was the best breakfast I have every had. Everything was amazing. Full of flavor, I left full and very happy. Great service too! And a nice lake view too.

I love eating breakfast at The Flying Machine. There are so many great choices and they are all delicious.

The restaurant has some great views of the lakes surrounding the hotel and staff is very friendly and helpful with the menu. For this visit we have one of their traditional Alaskan breakfasts, featuring reindeer meats and pancakes and it did not disappointed. You definitely will want to seat by the window as the views to my opinion enhance your breakfast experience. If you’re getting of the plane this is a great place to grab some breakfast since it’s only about 5 minutes form the airport.

The strength of this place is its view. It’s a beautiful spot to watch floatplanes on Lake Hood. On food quality alone, it earns a three-star rating, with prices on the higher side for very ordinary fare.

Great atmosphere, and drinks were EXTREMELY strong, and mind you, I am not complaining... I had 2 drinks, the house old fashioned and and special cosmo.. Recommended if your looking to catch a quick buzz after a busy day!

I have received the best of service here. Maybe a little on the expensive side and could use a little bit more salt & pepper but I think that is a personal preference more than anything else. The food was made perfectly. Temperature ingredients and style. I enjoyed myself I sat there and watch the planes flying in and out on the water and had excellent for new service. I highly recommend eating here to anyone who is in town. Local should come as well.

Good breakfast and fun to watch planes take off right outside while you eat. Then after you can walk out onto the pier for a better view.

Not gonna lie, food is great, interior is beautiful, they have a great view of a lake and the planes docked/parked there. Not to mention the service was great, friendly servers! I recommend the Captain's Breakfast!

My favorite place to go in the summer. I love watching the float planes take off and land, and love meeting visitors from around the world in the lounge. If you haven't been here I highly recommend it. There's an outdoor seating area as well. Great food, great drinks, and a great atmosphere.

Breakfast was delicious, exactly what I ordered and came quickly. They still had Iditarod souvenir shop open as well.

Cool place to go in the summer. I am giving it a 4 because of the awesome views. The staff can be slow and the food is more of a 3 but that being said I still take people here in the summer cause of the float planes and awesome patio.
