I bought the Pu pu platter and Mai fun chicken. The chicken Teriyaki was awful I couldn't eat it. The Crab Rangoon was good. The beef teriyaki was ok. The chicken fingers were good. The fried shrimp was good. The boneless Ribs awful. The chicken wings I couldn't eat. The Mai fun was actually good but I was extremely disappointed. I basically gave them $33 for noodles. I will not order from Fortune Cookie every again. Even if they gave me free food I wouldn't take it.

I have been buying chicken chow mein here for years as it was the best in town as well as their egg rolls. I've noticed that since the price of celery has increased they appear to have changed the chow mein by switching out the celery for nappa cabage . They also appear to be skimping on the bean sprouts. The end result is a very mushy dish which lost that nice crunch from the veggies. It's too bad as I really like this place but will be ordering my food elsewhere or making my own which my wife loves.

What happened with the food at Fortune Cookie? Our last three orders were nothing like in the past. The fried rice alone now is like white rice with a teaspoon of soy sauce in it. Used to be the best Chinese food around, but they recently changed their orange chicken to be cheaper with more breading and less chicken on top of higher prices. We have had it twice and it’s definitely a change in their product. Very disappointed and will likely go elsewhere after going only here for the past twenty years!

I don't mean to be dramatic, but calling Fortune Cookie anything other than one of the brightest lights in southern Maine would be incorrect. They are a beacon of hope in this fading town. While the local food scene flounders from it's heyday (you know what I'm talking about), the Fortune Cookie shines like a bat signal, ushering in a long awaited meal that is delicious, yet you don't have to make yourself (or drive too far). I grew up eating the best Chinese food around, still do. We drove 22 miles yesterday to check out the Fortune Cookie bc of great reviews, and we were not disappointed. In fact it's as good as the regular spots we frequent in the city, if not better than most. The food is light and clean, not greasy. The portions are generous not stingy.
