Amazing. I didn't know there was good food like this in the area until some friends took me here for lunch.

Love it! Great food, great staff, perfect level of livelyness and quiet seating. No set menu but I loved everything I've ever tried there. And the desserts? Please... My wife and I will drive the 30 miles from GR just for dessert (they're really that good). But don't tell everyone, you wouldn't want the secret to get out.

Always quality and the prices remain fair. Dessert is unbeatable

We were celebrating our anniversary on a Friday evening, and it was packed. We made reservations, as we have been wanting to come here for quite some time. We ordered the cranberry pecan brie with toast as an appetizer, which was delicious! For dinner, we had the chicken and rice dish (can't remember the name - no longer on menu) and the Bell's Braised Beef. It was outstanding!! Of course, we had to get desserts (made in house). We ordered the peanut butter pie and the sticky toffee pudding. They were absolutely amazing!! The food, service, and overall experience was very good!! If they were closer to us, it would easily be added into our restaurant rotation! Update 8/14/24: Visited to celebrate our parents' anniversary. Again did not disappoint! We ordered: Boursin Stuffed Portobello and of course the brie-Chili Rubbed Flank Steak w/Gorgonzola Cream & Jalapeno Relish - Roasted Pork Tenderloin w/Smoked Maple Sage - Vegetarian Potato Pea Curry and Turtle Cheesecake. Great service and great experience!

why would you ruin “farm to table” food with canola oil? it makes me question if in fact the fare offered is indeed farm to table. confirmed this evening with the host, two of the waitstaff, and a cook that indeed canola oil is used to cook with in the kitchen. low grade oil. I realize most patrons will not care about this, but it is hardly fine dining if cheap oil is used to prepare the dishes.

We have been here quite a few times. The food is always awesome and my wife absolutely loves the desert. Pro tip, hit the lunch hour for discounted prices for the same amazing food. If we lived in the area, we would definitely frequent this place more often. Don't think about it, just go. You'll have a fantastic meal!

Met some friends here from Utah for lunch. I ordered the steak meal for lunch. Had to be the most delicious steak I have ever had. Cooked to perfection, tender and better than any steak house I’ve ever been to. The small potatoes and carrots and green beans were all covered in a buttery deliciousness. The Tiramisu was huge and I had brought it home. It lasted me for 3 days for a nice little desert in the evenings. Definitely will return to try some other delicious dish and desert.

First class! Cocktails are tasty, filet mignon scrumptious and the Peanut Butter pie with leave your mouth watering! The best I’ve ever had with a graham cracker crust!!

It's really lovely to eat on the patio. The waitress brought us extra plates and utensils to share the fabulous desserts!

It was excellent food and excellent service. I will definitely return. I ordered the French dip and it was great and very flavorful. I ordered the key lime pie for dessert and it had great flavor and an excellent crust.

My husband found this place for our anniversary dinner. This was a great place for dinner. The food was absolutely amazing and there was so much to choose from. I highly suggest going to this location if you are in Plainwell or just take the drive for a pleasant afternoon and after 4pm check this place out. You won't regret it.

Wow! Wow! Wow! What an experience. There is backstory as to why I chose to come back to this place again and review it. Back in 2014 I was blessed by a family from a church about an hour away from the restaurant. They brought me here and paid for my meal which made my first experience incredible because...well... excellent tasting free food! Anyways, I decided to come back for one reason, their pie. More specifically, their peanut butter pie. Mmmm if you aren't allergic to peanuts, I really don't know what you are waiting for, go just for one slice of light, fluffy, flavor filled, heavenly goodness and you will understand what I mean. Our server told me that Four Roses Cafe actually won the Best dessert in all of Michigan for 2018, so it comes as no surprise as to why I am writing this review. To comment on their actual entrees, you seriously cannot go wrong with anything. The chefs know how to cook all kinds of meats to perfection and their seasonings are neither overwhelming or underwhelming. Please note that this is a little pricier place to eat, so unless you are planning on easily spending $80 for two people, then I would suggest looking for somewhere else to dine for the evening. Everything is beyond 5 stars every time! Food, service, and staff are fantastic! We come every weekend for date night and get the same order because they are phenomenal every time. Whitefish cakes, house salad, house rolls (divine!), chill rubbed flank steak with Gorgonzola cream sauce and jalapeño relish. The Guinness chocolate cake will blow you away, along with the house made caramel sauce! We always get in the waitlist and the table is generally ready within 5 minutes. This place is 5++++++ stars!

I'm an out of towner and have eaten there only once. It was a very, very good meal. Next time I'm in town I'll be back.

Meat was not done, the good for it's price is not good, the filet mignon is size of a meatball, cooks did not cook the meat good as they brought out the same food after putting it in a microwave, the potatoes were old, the green beans where rubbery, I did not eat at all, never again will I eat here and now time to blog this restaurant and they get a 1 Star, we do not recommend eating here, manager was not good at all with making the issues right and needs to be trained right, I have worked in the food business for over 25 years. Not a good restaurant.

Very nice place with a great blend of casual and fine. Service is top tier and food excellent. Calamari was crispy and light with a flavorful harissa sauce. House salads were next level, with apples, pecans and a creamy herbed cheese. Filet was cooked to perfection. This was my first time there but will be back.

This was a unique experience for me. My group was more pleased then me. First off, we waited in line in the cold to wait for it to open. So that meant everyone got seated at once so the kitchen got all those orders at once. Though we were allowed in at 4, we were told we had to leave by 6:15. Never in my life have I ever been told such a thing! We tried to make reservations but the site kept crashing. All our food was very good but pricey. The chicken tenders was terrible for my granddaughter. It was nasty! commercial stuff (not homemade like the adult menu) I pulled off the over cooked breading and then she was able to eat it. When you don’t have a happy child it reverberates thru the restaurant then no one around is happy! The waitress needs to retire as she never once smiled. We were her first table so no excuse! She was curt with us!

This place is amazing!! I had the Duck and my boyfriend had the Ribs. It was delicious!! A little pricey but worth it.

Honestly, the food was better than some of the higher end spots I’ve been too. The ribs were great. I tried my wife’s. My lamb was also pretty good. The dessert menu is epic.

My husband absolutely love dining at Four Roses. They are always updating their menu seasonally and really go above and beyond on their dishes. The food is unbelievable. I've always been incredibly impressed by the flavor pairings, the many dessert offerings, and they always have very unique cocktails as well. Make sure you make a reservation in advance because this is a very popular place and more than likely you will not be able to walk into a table because they are so popular for all the reasons I just listed.

Always great. Great variety and not your typical menu. Deserts are amazing. Reasonable for what you are served, but not a nightly choice for the average couple. It's a special occasion place, most definitely.

We enjoyed a great meal at four roses! The deserts were to die for. It would have been nice to have everyone use the front door when exiting to keep the heat in doors. We were a bit chilly every time the side door opened and a blast of winter air came rushing in.

Went here for a Christmas party - it is really nice and the food was great. I can't speak to cost, but staff was friendly, service prompt, restrooms clean and parking lot well lit. I would most certainly come here more often if it were closer to my home!

Tremendous place, in every regard. It reminds me of the former Aries Bistro in town years ago . This is always my favorite dining spot when I get down around the Kalamazoo area.

I ordered the Bells Braised Beef. It was excellent!!! My complements to the chef! Service was also great! Not too often we get dessert, but am I glad we did. Cranberry Bread Pudding was incredible!!! Ok I'm running out of exclamation points. We will be definitely come back for a second visit sooner than later. Great place to eat!

We were celebrating a birthday on a Wednesday night. They were super busy but our waitress, Cassie M. went above and beyond to get a vegan meal for one person in our party. She was fantastic, food was excellent and the service was quick. Desserts of course are stellar.

My favorite restaurant in Michigan ! I love to watch the kitchen making magic, I've always been delighted at everything they present. The dessert list is phenomenal with the best carrot cake I've ever had, and the wine beer and cocktail assortment is outstanding ! Hands down the finest Michigan dinning experience

When i tell you the love and passion put into the desserts here are like no other anywhere around and simply can't be beat. Either someone knew what they were doing or it was pure luck when they found the perfect in house pastry CHEF that they have and have had..

We were recently here for our Anniversary dinner. We love the menu options and drink selections. Always amazing and the service and atmosphere are top notch. I highly recommend !!

Unfortunately, this was the worst dinning experience I have ever had! I went with my wife and 3 small kids.The waitress wasn’t attentive at all. She only stopped by the table to bring drinks, and food. If I needed anything I had to flag her down. My medium rare steak was black and blue. After I complained about the steak The waitress did ask if I wanted a new one, and I said no. I said no because of my trust issues with restaurant chefs. I ate a little over half of my undercooked steak against my better judgment. My family ate maybe half of our $140 dinner, and requested that the remaining food be thrown away. I’m hoping my race didn’t play a part in the lack of service my table received. I was getting the vibe that the waitress thought we weren’t going to tip. I tipped her 15%, even though it was 3% service. I also paid for the nice elderly couple sitting behind us. Also, no to go cup were offered to my kids for their non alcoholic mojitos drinks. My wife I and were so pissed we decided to skip dessert there. I felt super bad for bringing my wife there for her birthday.

Great meal, wonderful service with good friends. It doesn't get better than that.

I had the grilled chicken with cheddar jalapeño sauce. The chicken was great. The green beans and squash mash were excellent. The Black bottom pie was insane. Highly recommend!

I’ve wanted to come here for the better part of 2 years and I finally made it for date night yesterday! I was told to order whatever I wanted, so I got the filet with bernaise and red wine mushrooms. WOW! I’m not often that impressed with steaks in restaurants and usually feel like I could do better at home, but this filet was amazing. Melt in your mouth and it was massive for a filet. I had the endless summer cocktail and a caramel appletini to celebrate the seasons changing and both were delicious. And don’t forget dessert!

As a California girl I appreciated this place. Very good food, creative menu, stunning delicious desserts and very friendly staff. Found it from our AirBnB recommendation and it did not disappoint.

I didn’t think that fish could drown, but my Mahi Mahi was drowned in soy sauce. There is a reason that it comes on the side of most dishes. Fish, thoughtfully seared should not come out soggy. I mean, that fish payed the ultimate price and for what? I would cry for it but all that sodium has sucked the tears right out of my ducts. My wife’s chicken was, on the other hand, excellent. I would come back again but wouldn’t take a chance on the fish.

This place was phenomenal, you can’t go wrong with any of the food, it’s all delicious and the pricing is just right.

I took some friends from out of town here for my wife's birthday. First time I've been here. The food was excellent, our waitress was a lot of fun and very good. Desert are out of this world awsome. We will be going there more often now.

The description of the food needs to be added to the menu. Ordered a beef tip meal it was spicy, plain bland rice with no favor what do ever. More rice and salsa with 5 -6 tips. Other individual had white fish again spicy seasoning, and lots of plain white rice. What a rip off with all rice. Will not go back. Along with another table next to us the make was loud, obnoxious and leering over people shoulders to look at their food ( we were sitting on the outdoor patio). Want to blow .$100 on two meals with lots rice then it’s your place to go .

Put us in corner. .staring at wall. Ribs were very good. Cascadia's were so-so. Desserts were excellent. Server cut me off when I was trying to sit down at the table.

We dined outside on patio and loved the experience. Well built and decorated nicely. Low volume music, fans and lights. Made the atmosphere a must to revisit. As usual the food was outstanding. Portobello appetizer was delicious. Ribs were really good as well. And finally the staff was timely and friendly. This restaurant is a repeater!

Grilled romaine salad was fair. Portabello mushroom app was great. Flank steak was good. Would like to see other options on the menu. Not a big rice fan. Dessert options are amazing. Food and service were great. We sat outside on a chilly evening and the heaters made it comfortable. Glad to have finally tried out this place. Server told us she had worked there for over 10 years. Dessert are awesome.

We had such a wonderful dinner with friends here this evening. They have a lovely atmosphere, nice and classy yet okay for a casual meal as well. Our dinners were delicious - each of us were very happy with the meals that we ordered. The waitress was friendly, but also very professional and have excellent service.

Brought my husband in for a birthday dinner. First visit here. He had like a beans and rice dish and I had the white fish. My husband’s dish was very tasty. My whitefish was seasoned nicely but raw in the middle. Not good. I asked our server Loren about my fish and she said she would take it back to the kitchen and ABSOLUTELY get me another. It came back much better but guess what it was the end of our dinner. A little too late. Had it boxed up and we brought it home. Did not even get a visit from a manager or an offer for a dessert on the house. We did order the peanut butter pie which was scrumptious! Our bill was $102 and a $20 tip, not cheap. I strongly feel for the caliper of the dinner we spent WAY too much. We also had 2 cocktails and split a wedge salad. Lauren was pleasant and attentive almost to a fault. She was at our side constantly. The word ABSOLUTELY came out of her mouth every few seconds. True fact. Nice drive from Rockford but can honestly say last drive to this establishment.

Food was amazing and I have never been to a restaurant where every person from front door to table was so so warm and friendly. This restaurant gets 5 stars for good service.

My first time visiting from out of state we went for lunch because it was recommended by family. The menu sounded very nice but I was not treated very well when I stated that I have celiac. I did not feel safe ordering anything but a salad. Which was not really a salad, it was a bit of head lettuce, a couple slices of apple and some nuts. If you have allergies I do not recommend this place... Others at my table seemed to enjoy their food.

It's difficult to put into words... EXCELLENT, EXCELLENCE... and MMMMMMMMMMMMM. Are what I come up with. I think... they should charge more. We've certainly paid more and enjoyed the dining experience less! Too many times. What a wonderful place.

Easily my favorite place to eat! They could easily be selling this food for 3x the price but they have captured the element of “casual fine dining” I have not had anything short of delicious off the menu. The maple mustard baby back ribs will change you. Take the whole family or just yourself! The dessert menu may leave you with options paralysis but the service is always helpful with recommendations of what to try! Highly recommend to anyone!

Brought my prom group here for the night out before the prom. It was a nice setting for the occasion and would definitely bring more people here again.

Their website says that they take reservations of ANY size (it's capitalized on their website). I just tried making a reservation for 17 for a wedding party and was told that a reservation for 12 was the most they take. I was asking for a date in the middle of June. Highly disappointing. I've eaten there numerous times and have taken my friends there to introduce them to the restaurant. I don't think I'll be doing that any time soon.
