I work for delivery. I waited here, almost 20 minutes, the order is not ready.

The seating area is a bit lacking and the staff have messed my order up multiple times. The food has dropped in portions and quality off late.

Garlic and Lemons used to be one of the best shawarma spots in the boston area. i have been going there for 15 years. over the years i've seen it change for the better and than change for the absolute worse. The staff as no understanding of middle eastern food, most of the time the shawarma meat is precut and left to dry out in a heating try. shawarma should be cut fresh for each wrap, this is the traditional way and has a purpose to keep the meat fresh and juicy. another issue is the size of the portion for the price. for the same price i can get a wrap almost triple the size of the garlic and lemons one, that is french cut and just as flavorful. to bring my family there and for us to leave full cost almost $100. this place had lost touch with its customers. it no longer is a traditional Armenian Lebanese shop, now just a trap for college students

This is an interesting place because the sauces, salad, and portions were great but the chicken was dry and the potatoes were undercooked and underseasoned :/

The shawarmas were really good. The toum on the side was almost perfectly authentic.

A pita roll must mean something different than a Shawarma. The pita chips had more weight to it then this so-called Shawarma. I can’t believe that my sides will be the entrée tonight. Just plain disrespectful.

One of my favorite places for fresh sliced chicken and tabouli and hummus. I love their wrapped and bowls and schwarma.

A solid choice for fast mediterranean food in Allston! Food: The food was really good - we tried one plate and one wrap. The tastes were there, the veggies tasted fresh and the sauces/dips were really tasty as well (especially the spicy garlic one). My personal preference was spicy beef, as the chicken was not as great, but that might just be a question of preference. Still, although the meat was precut and loaded to plates from the tray (a little disappointment), it still tasted pretty good. Service: Communication was a little messy, since the place was almost empty, but it was fast. Ambiance: It's nothing special. Everytime I pass it by it's half empty, so I assume many people order take out. It's definitely not a place for a date, but for what it is - it's great!

Been a loyal customer of garlic & lemons for almost a decade. I live in the south shore now and will find reasons to come to Allston so I can swing by for shwarma and garlic sauce. Completely understand the cost of food going up everywhere but the portions are decreasing with every visit while the prices increase. Every little thing is an added charge. I'm surprised they didn't charge for the pita bread.

Fresh and delicious, and the staff are nice and friendly.

I ordered the chicken shawarma plate. The chicken was the best part of the plate. It was moist and tasty. The portion of the side salad was really small. The humus was bland. The spicy potatoes were slightly undercooked.

Decent option for Mediterranean fast food in Allston. Took a couple of visits while looking for a quick meal in the area. The restaurant was mostly empty during my visits, so it was somewhat disappointing to find out that they used pre-carved meats for the Shawarma plate. The kebab plate was served with a made-to-order grilled chicken, so it seemed like the vertical spits, adorned with stacks of beef and chicken, were just there as decorations. While limited in numbers, their sides and salad options were great, but the meats were generally on the drier end. In terms of pricing, Garlic N Lemons positions itself at the higher end compared to other kebab joints in the city, such as Aceituna. However, the quality of the food, particularly the meats, doesn't notably surpass its competitors. While it may be a solid option in Allston, I’m not sure if I would return.

Aceituna is better in terms of price and quality. Garlic and lemons has work to do if it wants to build more local clientele: - no one should charge you extra for garlic sauce, onions, and pickles. It's always for free at any Lebanese restaurant. - Tabouli has Canola oil and olive oil. It should only consist of Olive oil. - Employees fail to understand basic English and in many cases get wrong what clients ask them for.

This place has Lebanese food but not Lebanese generosity. Onions? Extra charge.. pickles? Extra charge.. garlic sauce? Extra charge.. tomatoes? Extra charge.. these are the basics that should come with any Lebanese plate for free!

I was very, very dissatisfied with my meal here. I got a mixed shawarma plate. Both the chicken and the beef were super dry. It almost seemed like they had been cut in advance and reheated in an oven. I saw meat on the rotisserie but the meat for my plate all came from a drawer confirming my suspicions. The pita was terrible and I felt like it had been packed sometime during the Obama administration. I probably should have asked for a saw to cut it into pieces but even then, chewing it would have kept me there for days. The tabouleh, hummus and garlic sauce were decent but could not do much to save the disaster of a plate. I will not be visiting again.

Their beef shawarma is so good. I added the turnips, extra pickles, onions, tomatoes, hummus, garlic ailoi, and hots. Then they warmed it up on the grill. When I got to the car, I devoured it!!! I almost went back in to get another one, but I didn't want to be greedy 😜 Also, the team working there is friendly, and the place is clean. Try them out!

Good portion sizes and decent food. I prefer the plates over the rollups, as I feel like you get more bang for your buck. The inside has some small tables; probably not ideal for large groups. The atmosphere is casual.

An amazing Mediterranean spot right on the very busy Harvard Avenue. Easy ordering and prices are standard to what you are getting, good food. Would avoid driving during the week night dinner rush, it get’s crazy and a spot becomes impossible to find. BBQ Chicken Shawarma plate’s were the go to with a side of Garlic-Q Sauce. Fresh pita served on the side. Nothing better.

Was craving kebabs and this place didn’t disappoint. Cozy little place, no frills. Portions were MORE than enough. The staff was friendly too! I would definitely keep coming back.

Solid Mediterranean fare, gross portions.

I ordered the falafel roll up. The pita was dried out and crumbling. We also tried their Fatoush salad... Wish we hadn't. It was $6/12oz of wilted inedible mush. I'm sure when it was fresh it was good, but selling old nasty salad? Won't be going back. The Halal Guys have this place beat hands down.

Went here with friends for dinner. I got a spicy chicken pita wrap with everything on it. The flavor and spice were perfect and everything was filling for a small wrap. The fries were very good, crisp on the outside and melt in the mouth inside. The staff were all very friendly and the music wasn’t too loud. Parking lot in the back for two hours for free too!

Discovered this place by chance and so happy about it!! Great quick lebanese food in counter-serve style.

The best spot for Mediterranean food in the Allston area. I have had takeout several times, with the Mix Shawarma plate being the go to everytime. This is a heaping portion and gives you such a great selection at a decent price. All of the meat options are always flavorful and I love the customization options with the dips and salads, making each time feel very unique. Would definitely recommend checking it out.

We hired Garlic and Lemons to cater our 110 person wedding. The food was amazing, and Mark was incredibly responsive and attentive to our needs throughout the whole planning process. They took into account various allergies of our guests, and everyone was so pleased. This is a great restaurant, and they really excel at catering as well. Highly recommend, you’ll be happy!

What I like about this place is consistency. The spicy mix shawarma plate is classic goodness🔥 I also love the kafta burger with fresh baked bread when not in a hurry!

Too expensive for such low quality food. While two wraps were edible, the potatoes were the worst ones I've had in my life -- undercooked with some strange tasting spice.

Well, this certainly was an underwhelming experience considering that I’ve passed by this place countless times and was always intrigued. My fiancé and I went and holy cow was it expensive. It was $37 for a protein bowl, a veggie bowl with 5 items (falafel, baba ganoush, rice pilaff, grape leaves and never got a 5th one). The dish came with pita, and it was without a doubt stale. Everything was extremely dry and tasted like it had been either day old and/or sitting out all day. Luckily, my partner really enjoyed the chicken. Definitely did not match the expectations from what others were saying. The staff was rude also, I’m assuming because there was no AC in the restaurant people were grumpy near the kitchen area. Luckily, the woman by the cash register was very sweet though. Just to give them another chance, I even wanted to try the dessert and it didn’t taste like much despite pouring all the rose water on the dessert. I definitely don’t recommend it at all.

Prices were high. Garlic sauce was bland. Spicy garlic sauce tastes like buffalo sauce. Spicy chicken shawarma wasn't hot enough or spicy enough. Tabouli tasted weird. Rice was good.

This place use to rock . Now they serve food from drawers . I am an old customer from the mother and son when they use to run the place . I was there a couple of days ago and the chicken is dry and no taste …. I will be back one day and hoping it will be different cause it will be missed …

Great option and open fairly late. Food is very good and fast

I had their plate with a mix of meats, mint kefir and osmalia (dessert). Everything was great and a special note to myself is to never skip osmalia. Something between tofu and sweet cheesecake. Perfectly not too sweet.

Portions have reduced considerably and i found a hair in my food :(. Quality overall remains the same.

For many years they have been consistent with the quality of food and the ingredients they use. My favorite Mid East food joint. Portion is more than satisfying. Great value for your money.

If I could, I would marry all of the garlic sauces here. Unfortunately human-sauce marriage is not yet legal in the state of Massachusetts.

I’m obsessed with this place!! The chicken kebab plate is consistently flawless. Somehow something as simple as rice is done so well that I’m practically addicted to it — I moved out of the neighborhood and literally come back just to eat Garlic n Lemons. The staff is also super nice!! 10/10 love it here!!

My favorite shawarma place in Massachusetts. I come here all the time, and the service is wonderful. I recommended the spicy garlic sauce, it’s absolutely delicious. I always get the spicy chicken roll up. It never gets old.

Great little counter service Lebanese grill. This is one of my favorite restaurants in the world. It's relatively simple, refreshing and delicious.

Food was good but I don’t understand why they serve you the meat cold. Usually places like that cut the meat from brooch directly, but instead the cut the meat and put it next to the salad and they serve it cold. Too bad !

This is a great shawarma restaurant. The food is super tasty and the portions are big. You walk in, order what you want and then grab a seat in one of the available tables. I have been to several Middle Eastern restaurants and this one is really in the top tier and really recommend it.

Has to be one of my favorite gems in the Allston/Brighton area. Garlic and lemons offers so much. All the wraps, salads, bowls and plates are incredible. My go to is the shawarma plate with the beef and spicy chicken. It comes out to around 15$ total. It comes with some of the best garlic sauce I’ve ever tasted. Overall, it’s one of the best Mediterranean restaurants in the region. It’s hands down a must try if you’re in the area.

I eat here often because it's consistent and usually filling. It's only three stars however because the food is a bit expensive for what it is. The portions sizes have also gone down consistently over the last year.

This place has great food. It's fresh with plenty of options. My major gripe is that I can never get an order in accurately because the staff doesn't speak a lick of English. It's practically an argument every time because they can't understand me and I can't understand them. I'm also a vegetarian so my orders are typically outside of the standard American preferences. I just tried to order a falafel pita with salad and a side of French fries. What I got, after a painful conversation with the server, was onions and lettuce with French fries and falafel crushed up in a pita. It tasted great but not what I wanted and I'm annoyed

This unassuming place on the busiest street in Allston is easy to be overlooked. However, if you are curious enough to prove how this mediocre-looking shop survived and thrived in the pandemic, enter through their glass vestibule and you’ll realize there’s nothing mediocre here. This Mediterranean place is friendly, down to earth, and generous in serving portions. The owner Mardig greets every guest personally and walks them through the line patiently. The amount he scoops and packs into the bowl/plate usually takes me two meals to finish. Yet when you pay at the cashier, you’ll discover with amazement that almost 2-pound bowl only costs $15 including tax. Places like Garlic ‘n Lemons in the post-pandemic Allston is a rare find. Allston, for anyone who knows it, is a neighborhood crowded with crazy rich kids unconcerned about money who inadvertently helped foster a flock of overpriced restaurants. Yet this Mediterranean restaurant can hold its integrity, continues to serve fresh, big-portioned food and charges only a very reasonable price. This place is a noble contrarian to the hedonistic environment it’s located in. I applaud Mardig for maintaining his principles as a business owner and encourage anyone who ever stops by Allston to give his place a try. (The pictures don’t serve this place justice, probably because their food is made to please the stomach, not the cameras.)

Great Mediterranean/Lebanese food, and good prices. Spicy Chicken Shwarma (order it with spicy sauce on the side), Hummus and Tabouli my favorite. Falafels and stuffed grapes, my wife's.

Lip smacking shawarma with great balance of meat and condiments. Very filling and the meat is well seasoned and tasty. Go for spicy beef and you won't regret. Spicy here just means well seasoned with spices, and not hot at all, don't be scared.

I think its one of the very good shaworma spots in Boston.. it used to be my favorite until they stopped using sajj bread for the shaworma….

This is the only place in Boston that has never disappointed me. Fresh food always. No matter what you order, the food quality is never compromised. I would recommend this place to everyone for sure.

Tastes great and food was enough for two adults with one order

Got a spicy chicken pita wrap myself, and my so got the mixed plate with spicy chicken and beef. Both were really good! The meats themselves were not spicy at all, but still really tasty. The spicy potatoes are actually spicy and are a must have. The portions were generous, we were able to eat dinner and still have 1-2 meals left over for lunch the following day. My only critique is the wrap was not wrapped very well, but that didn't stop me from eating the entire thing. Overall, a very good experience and I am glad to have this in the neighborhood. I think you can find better wraps in Boston, but I doubt you'll be disappointed here. They are my new favorite in the immediate area!
