I took my wife there for our anniversary. We knew we’d pay a lot for our anniversary but this was a little much, for the quality of food. We had some kind of tacos for an appetizer and they were okay, needed flavor and salt. My wife had the sea bass. It was great and hot off the grill, but the portion was real small. I had the Ribeye, the size of the steak was good and the way they prepared it was good but the quality of steak was not. For a place that prides itself as being a steak house that serve prime meats, this was definitely not the case. It was cooked perfect, but was very chewy and not tender at all. There was no marbling and it did not fit the price tag of a $50 steak. The onions and grilled jalapeño were great! I ordered the $9 steak fries and they were just okay. All in all we were not impressed with the food. The service however was great. Our bill before tip was $195. How does a place like this stay open in EP?! Pretty sure we won’t be back.

Vince at the bar and Oscar are outstanding at suggestions and questions about the menu as well as pairing wines and drinks to meals. Vince as a true mixologist and his dedication to his craft is a welcome and rare experience. The restaurant is great! From Oscar's attention to detail to the quality of the good and the ambiance. Dinner at the bar area gives you a chance to really experience the great in house menu of personally created drinks.

A hidden gem, absolutely gorgeous establishment. We enjoyed an excellent meal with amazing table service. Live music made the night out incredibly romantic, perfect for an anniversary date.

Great atmosphere. Service was good but the food really disappointed. Steak was ordered medium. It was medium-well. Ordered Sirloin in order to taste an " Argentine" steak. Flavor was pleasant with a slight "gaminess." Both of us ordered the same. Cuts were inconsistent. Mine was thinner but riddled with connective tissue. Unpleasant. The other steak was overdone, as well but, was a thicker cut and more tender. Neither was 14 ounces, as advertised.

We celebrated a birthday dinner here on a Wednesday. This restaurant is very nice and intimate with elegant decor. It also has an upstairs. The dim lights and the atmosphere is soothing. I ordered the Bife de Chorizo 14oz with a side of brussel sprouts. My steak was so juicy and full of flavor. My brussel sprouts were very oily. And my friend ordered the Fettuccine Alfredo with shrimp and salmon. There was a server named Edgar that was friendly, efficient and knowledge. And unfortunately didn't end up our server. But the service was very slow and they were nicely staffed. We did have a party of 7. I wouldn't mind trying this restaurant again.

Overpriced, with music that made the atmosphere too loud for good conversation.

This is a very good restaurant for meat lovers. Chorizo Argentino was juicy and well prepared. Fettuchini Alfredo had an excellent sauce with parmegan flavors

Food was ok. Presentation was not up to how nice the place is. Very Overpriced. From the Steak I tasted it would not justify a $68 Ribeye. The enpanada appetizer was cold inside. Argentinos are known for their enapnadas and if you can't even get that right, then we are in trouble. Ambiance was nice. Place is beautiful. Need to invest in a great Chef. Food needs to be better for a place like this.

Got to the restaurant, server or whomever looked at us with disdain when we asked for a table for two. Got seated and waited 15 minutes - no service, not even a water or drink. Terrible service and the older gentleman needs to sharpen his attitude. Would not recommend due to service.

Good lunch menu. Soup or salad, entree and cheesecake or flan for a fixed price. It's a nice upscale place. We felt the cheesecake and flan we just ok, but not bad by any means

Admittedly, we came to Garufa’s late on a Saturday evening, so I imagine the crowds had already died down. The atmosphere is very pleasant and we enjoyed the ambience. We were worried about a dress code but there wasn’t one and the meal was lovely, the staff was extra lovely, and overall a great experience. Next time, I will get a steak when it’s not quite so late in the evening. This would be a nice date night location.

We have been here many times over the years and the last few have not been good. Recently we dined here for lunch, and apart from us there were only two other people in the restaurant. Our food took almost an hour to arrive and i had ordered the 7 oz arracherra medium which arrived totally overdone almost charred all the way through. Didn’t send it back because this was a business lunch and i did not have time to wait for them to redo it. The other two diners with me also had a poor experience. One ordered the Palm salad and it was just fair and one ordered the 7oz filet which was butterflied for some reason, it was ordered medium and arrive also well done. You would think with so little work to do in the kitchen the cook would know how to cook the meat to proper temp. It seems to me management and kitchen staff doesn’t really care about the customers. I paid the bill which came close to $200. Unfortunately for Garufa they will never see me there again.

Great atmosphere and service. Salads, breads, and wines very good for. Entrees not good, steak was tough and chicken not well seasoned. Not worth the price, $160 plus for two.

Had a great experience dining here, with top-notch service plus a really great selection of steak and wine. Enjoyed learning and trying new cuts of meat, as it was my first time experiencing an Argentinian steakhouse. Would make a great date spot!

Too pricey for the food quality

We were so excited to finally dine here since the last time we tried they were closed. Fast forward to today, again, visiting family for the holidays. Our server was great and even new to the restaurant. The food was just meh. We ordered empanadas. Spinach and Carne. Carne was cold and had an olive pit in it, spinach was good. Wanted the prime rib but unfortunately they didn’t have any so I went with the rib eye. No big deal, also ordered a side of Brussels and a glass of Malbec. Husband had a glass of wine, a filet that came with potatoes and a red wine reduction. Both of our steaks were just bland and lacked any sort of flavor profile what so ever but cooked perfectly. The wine sauce in his dish was super sweet, which didn’t make sense, potatoes old. My side of Brussel sprouts again no seasoning and my steak came with a side of perfectly grilled onion, minus the onions skin which was also in it. Brussel sprouts were grilled in what tasted only like sesame oil and super oily.

Scott, our waiter was fantastic. He had great recommendations for food and wine. His knowledge of wine pairing was on point. The Maître d’ even checked on us to see how our meal was. It was also a Saturday so at 7 pm they had incredible live music to further set the mood. It was a wonderful dining experience from service to food to entertainment. I highly recommend dining here.

It was my husband’s 60th birthday and wanted to take him to an upscale place. The atmosphere is beautiful, white table cloths and cozy. They started us off with fresh bread and 3 different kinds of dipping sauces (delicious) and unique. I had the Arrachera steak (very tender) my husband had the ribeye (both perfectly cooked) he also ordered the mushrooms and we had baked potatoes. Our appetizer was very unique as well, Spanish sausage sautéed with red bell peppers and onions. I ordered the moscato with my meal. We ended with an amazing dessert apple and raisin strudel. Our waitress was Jennifer and she was really great. Excellent customer service, very friendly. Great place for any special occasion. Thank you for the experience.

Incredible food and service! We had the most professional sommelier service and the wine selection was a perfect mix. The empanadas were so tasty, our favorite one was the beef. The chimichurri sauce accompanying the bread and the appetizers was so delicious and I want the recipe for it so bad! For our main course we got pasta since we weren’t in the mood for steaks but I’m so glad I did because it was a gourmet comfort food. The best fine dining experience I’ve had in El Paso yet and I can’t wait to come back! 🤤

Well more than three weeks ago, I dined at Garufa in El Paso, TX for the first time in my life and I truly loved it. Of course, I was spending 'quality time' with the family of my older (half)-sister from mid-August until the conclusion of Labor Day. As a matter of fact, I feasted on both a small serving of fettucine Alfredo and mashed potatoes.

Second time here, both times during a weekday. They did not dissapoint. The food is phenomenal! Preparation is on point. The service is exceptional. I' ve had the Lamb Rack and the Bife de Chorizo (ribeye), my meals were fantastic cooked to a perfect medium-rare. I would suggest the bone marrow appetizer, split between three of us, we all were impressed! Great place to celebrate a special occasion.

I was invited to celebrate my sister-in-law's birthday. The building is very nice and modern. The food is x for the price. The service was terrible, especially from the waiter (older adult) who served us. He gave the impression that he was tired and overwhelmed by our presence. The tip is automatically included in their bill. It wasn't like he wasn't getting paid for a good service that I was waiting for. I was expecting good service like the one at Texas Chop House, Redlobster or Corralitos. I will NEVER go back to Garufa

The service was extremely slow. For only 4 tables and 2 wait staff, it was as slow as if it was 10 tables and 2 wait staff. The food was bland. The French fries were undercooked. The chimichurri had the most flavor, and even then, it was lacking. The petite sirloin was not petite at all. I asked for a medium cook. Big mistake, for the size of the steak, it needed more cooking for my liking.

Definitely did not meet the expectations of a fine dining experience. Food was mediocre and the place is a bit crowded. Room upstairs was not ventilated or AC was not circulating as expected. This restaurant needs to be updated from the interior.

Came to celebrate our anniversary, wow was seriously lacking. Both in service and food taste. There were 4 tables, 2 waiters and ours was hardly seen. Very disappointing.

I had a Prosciutto Salad and a side of the Cream of spinach. The salad was not that good,to salty. The cream of spinach was very good. Not very busy. And very expensive. Nice for a romantic date.

My boyfriend and I went here for a nice evening before meeting up friends for drinks. Unfortunately, our food was critically under seasoned—not sure if the chef used any salt on our meats or sides. Our server did not come back to take our order for our entrees and we had to flag someone down. This restaurant used to be pretty good, but I was extremely disappointed for what we paid compared to the lack of service and tasteless food. Please do better.

I have a few doctor friends, a married couple, that are moving to El Paso very soon. I wanted to get them a nice gift certificate so they could have a sumptuous meal at this restaurant when they got into town. Although they were open when I called, I called repeatedly for nearly three hours, no one answered the phone. You couldn't even leave a message. After listening to a bunch of ringing you get a recording that says "thank you for calling', then hangs up on you. Terribly unprofessional. If this is an example of how badly they run their front end, can you imagine what's happening in the kitchen!?!

Great experience, moment and food thanks to the new administration. Quality Food better that any other place around. Great service by Juan and Benjamin, great ambient. The Garufa it's remastering for good. For us the best place to have a perfect, tasty beef cut.

Growing up in an Argentinian household, the food here was completely disappointing. Before our meal, the lady manager had moved our table to accommodate the table of 6 that was sitting next to us. Did not introduce herself as a manager or anything, just went ahead to make that move. Appetizers were mediocre, our proteins in our entrees lacked a incredible amount of flavor. Our server did everything possible to make it the best for our anniversary and mentioned to the manager about my complaints. No one came to address any issue. Our server brought a dessert on the house but it was soaked in cognac so we were not able to enjoy. Again, the server was very kind and tried his best but everything was out of his control. I happily will never come back again.

The food was good, the service wasn’t good. It took the waiter a long time to bring the drinks, first the food was served then we have to ask for knives and forks!

My husband took me to dinner for a surprise for our 21st wedding anniversary. He ordered flowers and had them delivered to the restaurant. The Staff went one step further and placed rose petals all over the table and added a long stem rose. They also served us a complimentary glass of champagne. The ambiance of the restaurant itself is so beautiful and relaxing. The staff are very tentative and helpful. Then when it comes to the food!!!! We ordered the ribeye with mushrooms, onions and asparagus. My husband and I agreed the best steak we have ever had. So delicious and tender. We are definitely going back!!!!

This place has a great "fixe-prise"/Euro-style lunch special(s), very great deal, and the quality of service and attention from staff is stellar. Highly recommended, especially for lunch.

This place is incredible. The service I got from Emanuel and the experience that we got was amazing. My wife and I went for our anniversary had an amazing conversation with a stranger over some amazing drinks at the bar. The food smelled amazing and tasted as good or even better. I definitely recommend the empanadas we had the ham and cheese and the carne one. We definitely will go back and taste the rest. Perfect for a date special occasion or if you love a quick bite with the empanadas. I will be coming again soon.

The steaks were amazing, along with the different sides that were ordered such as asparagus, mashed potatoes, and mushrooms. Their Bolognese spaghetti was very flavorful. Their desserts were delicious. However, my only two complaints are how dark the venue is. Just needs a little more light. My parents struggled to read the menu. (we did need to use our phone's flashlight later but not for too long). The other complaint is the prices. I did think it was just a tad bit too expensive. I understand why, but still. Other than that, as I previously mentioned, the food was 👌👌. I do recommend it!

My second time here. The first was excellent but yesterday was disappointing. Two of the four had their top sirloin steak. Though flavorful it was the toughest piece of meat my husband and brother in law have had . anywhere. Prices were higher than last time and now a surcharge for credit cards. Beautiful bar and restaurant. I will not be as ready to offer it as a place to go in El Paso. I will probably try once more but I am sure the other couple will not.

Went with my wife as we had heard it was good. We were seated quickly and the place looked nice. Our initial server was new. Very new! After multiple slips and missteps a different server took over. We thought all would go smoothly but not so. Our meals came at the same time as our salads. Not what you would expect from such a place. My wife asked if her steak came with a side and she was told yes. Not true. We were charged for her side. We ordered a steak to go for my son and again we’re charged for the side. Our server told us that due to the less than optimal service at the beginning we would receive a free desert each. This was stated multiple times. We each ordered a desert and of course we were charged for them both. We didn’t notice this until we had paid and left. We called the restaurant and their solution was that next time we go there we would get a free wine or something else. So our solution is to spend more money there. I think the $231 plus $40 in tips is more than enough.

They had an 11-2 menu that was so good so I took a group of 5 to eat there. After boasting to the group of what I had experienced there before, i was so embarrassed cause they changed their menu and deleted the wedge salad, the arrachera and the two choices of desserts they had before. Their sirloin was half fat and they gave us a hard time on another choice for dessert where as before they had 3 choices. The salmon piece was tiny and so was the chicken. I don't think I'll go there again.

Food was good, service was slow. the wait staff seemed overwhelmed and confused. seated at a table upstairs, it was rickety and uncomfortable. For the price point, you have better options in El Paso. Would recommend this place to a friend but not a very good friend and only if you are dying to experience this version of an "Argentinian Steakhouse."

The dinner was fantastic. The service from our waiter Benjamin was outstanding and the manager on duty Mikey did a great job. The cheese and vegetable Provoletta was delicious and one of the best if not the best appetizers in town. The rib eye and tenderloin were perfect and the mashed potatoes were great. Overall a beautiful evening!

This place has some of the best meat dishes in El Paso. It's pricey but the food is well prepared and has excellent presentations. The wine list is good. The beer selection is limited so if you prefer beer, be prepared. I had the Lomo al vino tinto, an excellent presentation, and excellent preparation. If you are out to impress your date, this is one of my favorite places to accomplish that. The ambiance meets expectations. The place is aging, as expected from its much use, I am hoping management sees to the interest of Garufa continuing to be a city's gem and do some updating.

Garufa is a lovely place, in which you'll find probably the best services in town. （Juan served our table, he didn't just make the right recommendations on the dish selections, he also took care of us like a big brother, makes us feel like home) Except their famous Argentine style steak, strongly recommend their house salad, the sweet and sour taste gives you a great freshness to go with steak.

The restaurant is lovely. The food overall is good however the caprese was served on a bed of greens which detracted from the salad. We also tried the carpraccio, which was very THICK and thus disappointing. The fettuccine Alfredo is EXCEPTIONAL, as were the lamb chops. The vegetables could have used some acid and/or salt. Overall the meal was good and the service was lacking I found myself constantly needing, and eventually leaving without dessert due to frustration. Good food, but definitely could have been a much better experience!
