While we were in the vicinity, we suddenly developed a craving for pasta. A hasty search brought us to a pleasant revelation! The encounter was undeniably superb, with incredible food, environment, and service.

My daughter and I wandered in here one day just looking for a place for lunch. We were so happy we did! The atmosphere and food were unbelievable! The service was top notch! My daughter had the ravioli and I had the spaghetti with meat ball. Absolutely to die for! We even got to meet Giovanni himself! You absolutely, positively have to try this restaurant! We loved it so much we went back a second time! I swear, you'll thank me later!

Delicious appetizers. Fresh ingredients and wonderful presentation . Giovanni is very friendly and welcoming. The service staff were immaculate and attentive to every part of the dining experience. A beautiful central American Italian twist. Would recommend.

We were in the area and we found ourselves craving pasta. A quick search led us to a delightful surprise! The experience was nothing short of exceptional, the food, ambiance and service was amazing. We tried the fried calamari, the lasagna, and one of their lamb specials. Each dish is accompanied by either soup or salad, which is great! Affordable considering the quality of their dishes. Definitely will be back soon!

I just wanted to share a quick recommendation with you. I recently had the pleasure of dining at Giovanni’s an amazing Italian restaurant located in the heart of 8th Street and 87th Ave. Let me tell you, the food there is absolutely fantastic! The cod empanadas were on point, and the spaghetti bolognese had a perfect rating. I highly recommend giving it a try if you're in the area.

The spaghetti's quality was below standard due to overcooking, indicating a lack of comprehension of the al dente concept in Italian cuisine. I would rate the meal as a 3. Furthermore, the server's wine service was improper and requires retraining. When presenting a bottle of wine, it should first be shown to the person who requested it. This individual will sample the wine and provide approval. However, it is crucial to understand that this person should be served last, not second. Attention to such details distinguishes a high-end restaurant. I trust that the server will improve in this regard.

The food was amazing served piping hot as Italian pasta dishes should be. Great selection of California wines I mean Great selection at very reasonable prices. "We had 2 bottles" The place is small and the service was epectacular. Our server was Pietro he reminded me of father Sarduchi.

Giovanni's is a gem in a little corner of Miami. It is a small restaurant, the perfect size to feel comfortable without being overwhelmed and at the same time warm and with attention worthy of praise, coupled with the high quality and variety of its dishes. Italian food that honors its gastronomy. Its owner is always attentive to every detail, providing diners with the most exquisite attention. Without a doubt, a place to return to again and again.

Food was amazing! Specially the tiramisu. A heart warming soup(I don’t know the name) was served with Chicken Siciliano. Best place for dating!

When I entered Giovanni Restaurante today, after several minutes, I felt and commented to my partner “in this restaurant I feel something different, that I have never felt in any other in Miami or anywhere else. I felt “as if I had gone to visit a friend and he had invited me to eat at his house.” It was such a warm, friendly, and at the same time respectful service that I will not forget. The dishes are truly exquisite, fresh and clean. Good quality wine (my partner is a wine expert and gave me his opinion, I don't drink alcohol ;) Put this restaurant on your list and when you can, visit it, you will not find luxuries but you will find good food, human warmth, simplicity.

I've been a customer for many years until 2 weeks ago. I went with my family at around 8 pm on the day before Thanksgiving. My baby boy was sleeping, so i parked and went in first to see if there was waiting time. There were many customers inside but there were a couple of tables empty. I asked for a table and a man (not a waiter) who seemed to be a manager asked how many was my party. When I said 2 adults and a kid he said there was no availability. I asked for the emtpy tables and he said they were reserved. That was it. He didn't tell me to wait some time for a table. He simply said no availability, end of conversation. I asked how long I would have to wait he said he had no idea.."we are very busy".. so the message was clear..no interest in a small party. With that I left, never to return again. One of the waiters was present. Obviously this person who was not wearing uniform was in control. Awful attitude. Bad for business.

I was introduced to this place by my best friend on my trip to Miami. He told me it was a hidden gem that’ll surprise me. Even with that, I was surprised by how much of a gem Giovanni’s truly was. The appetizer we ordered were empanadas with chicken and with beef, amazing. My wife ordered a steak that rivals those of 5 star steakhouses, it was the recommendation from my best friend. The tiramisu is of the highest quality as my wife and I have had difficulty finding high quality tiramisu where we live (Texas). The staff is very attentive and friendly. They even tended to our son who is now eating solids. I highly recommend Giovanni’s to any and everyone reading this review and hope it can change from being a hole in the wall to the main attraction of the plaza!

Con todo respeto, pedí una Lasaña pero no me gustó.

We have been there several times and their food is delicious and very well prepared. Nonetheless, sometime during the month of September 2023, we went and I ordered a filet of fish (with the corresponding small 2 sides) for dinner. The dish was priced at around $27.00. I asked the server the kind of fish they were serving and to my surprise it was tilapia...to me, the worst fish in the market to eat. I was very surprised. I then asked them to substitute it for corvina (a higher quality of white fish) for $3.00 more. It was simply very good and I enjoyed it. The problem I had once it was served (and I was shocked) is that the fish portion was half a normal size filet, the kind you would serve a child. IT WAS ABOUT 3 OZ!!! I could not believe that I was paying $30.00 for a kid's meal! I new that I was going to stay hungry unless I would order a second entry. I nicely brought it to the attention of my server and he appeared to be disturbed by my observation. He looked at me like if I was being irrational for challenging the ridiculous kid's portion size and indicated it was basically supposed to be like that, and not any (reasonably) bigger. Needless to say, I was very upset by his response. Guys, please don't take me wrong. I am grateful to be able to pay for my food without any issues, but I like to get what I pay for...a satisfying and fulfilling meal, which this one was not! For a moment, I felt I was in a French restaurant in the middle of Brickell or Coral Gables, but I was not. I was in the neighborhood of Westchester, Miami, Fl, which is an average section of town. This dish was worth $9.99 at the most and not $30.00. I was ripped off and very deceived! Maybe next time I will improve the rating. I hope the owner reads this!

The staff opened the doors for us and greeted us warmly. Quickly sat us and we were very happy with our surroundings. The restaurant is very clean and tidy with great decor. The menu is extensive and all your favorites are there. We loved our food selections as well as our servers. Everyone was very kind and it was a great dining experience.

We went here for my boyfriend's birthday week with his family. At first I was confused because it's an Italian/Hispanic blend. The service was great and they had a pianist there. The place was full of people singing getting up and dancing. That was the good part. Now what should be good wasn't. The food. We ordered mozzarella sticks and calamari for appetizers. The mozzarella breading had no flavor it just tasted like well bread. The calamari tasted over cooked and chewy. The breading was lackluster in taste. I ordered Giovanni's chicken and was so disappointed. The mashed potatoes were wayyyy too salty and had no flavor. The sauce was also lacking in flavor and tasted sour and just like salt. The chicken itself was chewy and the veggies it came with tasted too strong of the wine they cooked it in. I tasted my boyfriend's plate the same thing too salty and the seafood was chewy. The best thing was the fries his daughter was eating. Would I go here again... absolutely not. Would I recommend this place for the food. Again absolutely not.

Great service, great atmosphere! The food was sooo bland, it didn't have any Italian flavors. I feel like Giovanni's is what happens when Cubans try to cook Italian food.. the fried Calamari appetizers' breading wasn't seasoned &the eggplant rolatini's either.. The marinara sauce for the apps was flavorless... The Garbanzo Soup was great! Very tasty! My $35 steak w/ mushroom Risotto w/ truffle oil was pathetic.. Dead food.. No life! The shrimp Risotto was too fishy, garlic and basil would've evened it out... Deserts were ok...The food at Giovanni's could be so much better...

We recently visited Giovanni's Ristorante in Miami and was impressed with the quality of the food and the attentive service. Giovanni's is an amazing Italian restaurant that offers some of the best Italian cuisine in Miami. The pasta is always perfectly cooked and the sauces are amazing. The service is also top-notch and the ambiance is great. I highly recommend the carbonara and the tiramisu. Music was at the perfect volume. I'm a stickler for that and they held it at a volume where you can always here it and still here conversation with your peeps. 5 stars!

Stick with the steak recipes. Italian is not their specialty. The chicken was so so. But the sauce was good.

Excellent food. Went there to celebrate a co-worker/friend's birthday. Nice ambiance. Service was quick (Thursday lunchtime). Our party was nine. Plenty of parking and the strip mall where the restaurant is located is undergoing a renovation.

Of all the restaurants we ate at during our week long stay in Miami, Giovanni's was above and beyond all the rest. Although most of the servers were spanish speaking, they went out of their way to provide us with an english speaking server. The food was absolutely delicious, from the fried calamari which was so tender it fell apart in my mouth to the mushroom risotto with filet mignon, everything we ate and drank here was among the best food we've ever had. The prices were way below what they should be according to the area and the quality of the food, I would recommend this restaurant to vacationers and locals alike.

If I could give this Gem of a restaurant 10 stars, I would! We had never been here before and I was looking for a nice family restaurant to celebrate my mom’s 94th birthday. They excelled in ambiance, professionalism of staff and quality of food for a reasonable price. The owner would personally go by each table to welcome his clients and ask them if everything was ok. I highly recommend Giovanni ‘s and we will definitely be going back as often as we can.

It's a cozy place and delicious food, very unexpected as I just picked a random place from Google maps. I had salmon in a mojito like sauce, recommended by the server, best suggestion ever.

EXCELLENT! This restaurant is the melting pot of Italian, Peruvian ,Argentinian and Cuban food. Very friendly, the service is incredible and the right ambiance to be in. Friday and Saturday night live music. I extremely recommend this restaurant. You'll not be disappointed.

Delicious italian food, used to be Portifino's owners split and opened up there seperate restaurants both are fantastic. Steakis good for an italian restaurant, pasta is fantastic. Every past plate I have eaten here have all be superb.

I ordered delivery and I can't remember ever having a good experience ordering delivery at any place however Giovanni's food was perfectly cooked and packaged so well. I'm very happy now I can't wait to visit you guys in person. We had the filet mignon, fettuccine Alfredo, chocolate soufflé and peach cream Brulee and everything was absolutely delish.

Go to this tucked away gem of an Italian place. The food here was so good. The restaurant was beautifully decorated, and the staff was incredibly attentive and friendly. I got the chicken cordon Bleu and it was juicy and tasty. The mozarrella sticks were great, and the salad was awesome. Props to the chef and team at Giovanni's!

By far the best service we have EVER had, and the food was exceptional! We had a table of four, each had something different and all of it was incredible. I could go on and on about how great this place is, but I would highly suggest you go try it for yourself, you won't be disappointed.
