My dad's favorite breakfast cafe.

Went today for breakfast. The restaurant was jam packed! My server Olivia was phenomenal! Very quick service and super friendly! My eggs, bacon, home fries, and rye toast were cooked to perfection! Will be back soon for exceptional food, great prices, and awesome and prompt service with a smile! Thank you to Olivia and the whole Golden Bear crew for starting my weekend off right!

My friend Jaime and myself just left this wonderful restaurant, very friendly staff and we met the owner Todd shook his hand the food was delicious and the portions were excellent, I'm not a breakfast kind of person but whenever I want to have a good solid morning meal it's gonna be here!! Thank you guys!!

The food was really good. Parking was a little difficult because it was so busy but after we ate, we understood why. We were seated quickly, the service was good, and they had their s**it together 🤣 will definitely be returning.

One word: Exceptional!!! Big bear French toast pancakes, exceptional. House skillet, exceptional. Biscuits and gravy, exceptional. Staff is friendly and checked in a lot.

I got the chicken souvlaki with fries, crinkle cut fries are my favorite, especially when they're cooked to perfection as these were, and the chicken souvlaki was amazing, so good i almost bit my own finger taking a huge bite, the lady who rung me up who i believe was the same person who took my order over the phone, was really nice and the place feels clean and had that welcoming vibe, I'll be back there soon.

Food was good, service good but not great. Atmosphere had political leanings. I prefer politics neutral in public places.

Great place for breakfast if you don't mind noise, it gets loud in here everyone trying to talk. Food is great, I had the chorizo skillet that has just the right kick of spice. My wife had the eggs n biscuits which she loves. Great breakfast house, need to be there earlier before the crowds.

Food has always been great. Breakfast is good, lunch is good, food is always hot. I have had the patty melt several times, although it doesn’t have the Swiss cheese on it, it’s great with the American Cheese. The only thing about dining in, is that it is a little warm in there. I like it to be colder than that when I’m eating. That is the only reason why I gave them three stars as far as atmosphere.

Food is delivered with hot plates, keeping food warm. Nice touch! Great flavor, great service.

We’re new to this area of town and we were doubtful that we’d ever find an old school breakfast diner like the one we frequented in our old neighborhood. We googled ‘breakfast diners in Seminole’ and were intrigued by the awesome reviews here… me more so by the comments on their old fashioned grits! This hole-in-the-wall diner is located in a strip mall and is very easy to overlook, if not for the completely full parking lot - a very good sign! We followed the crowd inside and have been going for breakfast ever since! They also serve lunch for people who aren’t looking for breakfast food. True to the reviews, their grits are unlike ANYTHING this Southerner has ever had! Less gritty than traditional grits, but whipped in texture and consistency, they are the best grits in the world! Melt in some butter and sprinkle with salt and you’ll be in grit heaven! There’s honey, sugar and syrup available for those who prefer their grits sweet. Our order: We always get the 2 Egg breakfast - with two eggs cooked any way and your choice of breakfast meat and one of the following three options: grits, toast or hash browns. The hash browns are old school shredded and griddled in a heaping pile, so don’t miss those, either! We always order a side of hash browns to split. Sometimes, my husband orders the pancakes - the size of basically hubcaps lol. The coffee is hot, the service is awesome and we really love sitting in Bonnie’s section. Go for the grits and fall in love with everything else like we did! The little guy who clears the tables is a sweetheart and we look forward to seeing his big smile every time we go! *Thank you also for serving and recognizing our veterans! As a wife to a veteran, you’ve got fans for life with my family! Don’t forget to check out the breakfast specials located on the napkin dispensers on each table! Bring cash to avoid the new 3% surcharge they tack in to credit card payments. They offer catering as well!

Went there twice. Both times same experience. Floors were very dirty with egg left overs, disgusting! Waitresses seemed both times slightly stressed out and most of them don't look very appealing. Asked for iced coffee and got very weak watered down coffee. When asked waitress to ad some more coffee got an attitude with the snippy comment " that's what we have..we are not THAT fancy". Food was ok but loveless presentation. The place needs an update overall. There are better options for breakfast in the area. Sorry but not sorry..won't be back!

We love this restaurant. We eat breakfast there at least once a week. The service is so.... Friendly. Greeted Always upon arrival. They have specials that we really enjoy. The food is so satisfying. The service is quick and the food tastes great. If looking for a bang for your buck this is the place.

They have scrapple but they don’t know what to do with it so they serve it raw. Almost puked and got attitude when I told them it was not cooked properly (or at all really). Nothing like a mushy gray ball of raw pig on your plate

Susan never disappoints me. I call each Tuesday for their split pea soup it's the best I have had. It's always ready,hot and plenty. She knows me by name. All the staff here are great so is the food.

Staff very friendly, food was good and hot. Manager came around to each table and asked how things were going but didn't introduce herself. Had no idea why this strange lady came by my table to ask me how things are going.

OMG!!! I'm so happy I found this place. It's about 3 minutes from my work and they're fast making your food. Friendly hostess. Great prices and the portions are 🤌🏾🤌🏾🤌🏾 and 😋. My lunch breaks are so much better now. Highly recommend.

Great place for breakfast. Not comparable to any other American breakfast places. Hash browns and homemade fries are really good. We had healthy choice omelette and egg quesadilla. Both delicious. I don’t drink drip coffee but this one was really good. Highly recommend!!

I ordered from Uber and got the tuna club and an egg salad sandwich. Both were disgusting. The egg salad was 95% mayo and a smashed egg. No seasoning, nothing else. It was a mayo sandwhich basically. The tuna club looked amazing and the portion size was great but it tasted like old tuna. The fries were super dry. Threw everything away. Really disappointed and waste of money. Maybe I ordered the wrong things because I can see this place has great reviews but what I ordered was actually gross and based off that I would not recommend.

Stopped in for breakfast for 3 of us Saturday morning. we were told about a 15 minute wait. we were seated in about 7 minutes. Service was very good and the food and portions were excellent.

Beary Good Golden Bear has been around for many years and they have a lot down pat. The place is usually busy and the staff is efficient. The coffee is good and the eggs are, well, eggs. The French toast is pretty good. The downfalls are the grits and ham. The grits are a little more flavorful than most similar restaurants, but the texture is soupy. Grits should be drier and slightly crunchy. The ham is flavorful but has a spongy texture. Prices are OK. I still can’t find a breakfast place in central Pinellas that gets everything right.

Used to be my ultimate breakfast place every chance I had. Super fast, friendly and affordable. Like a little family spot. New owners took over and its close, but not the same as it was. Had a little mishap the one time I tried after the new owners took over and since I've been hesitant to try it again. Finally bit the bullet and went a few weeks ago and was pleasantly surprised. Food was good, people were friendly and prices weren't too unreasonable. Will be back!

Stopped 🛑at the Golden Bear🐻 to have a late breakfast early lunch, I had the pancakes 🥞made from scratch and two eggs🥚🥚 over light and they were perfect, my wife had an order of the delicious strawberry🍓 cheese 🧀🥚Blitz, everything was five star across the board Food ,Service ,atmosphere, parking,👍👍🎉

Good food ,good SVC,we were a party of five I think they'd have a problem with seating for a bigger party than we were but I could be wrong on that from what I saw it'd be tough,but it was great all the way around no complaints

This mom and pop breakfast/lunch restaurant is a hidden gem. Generous portions and great tasting food. I had the 1/2 order of biscuits and gravy with well done home fries with peppers and onions. Delish. Our waitress Caroline was was very professional and took great care of us...

Loved the chipped beef and added a perfectly cooked overeasy egg.

This was a great little restaurant with great food and exceptional service. Our only complaints were the fact that we asked specifically for pork free meals. I found two pieces of ham in my vegetarian omelet and my daughter found ham in her quesadilla. We observe Biblical dietary guidelines and because of this, we are very careful what we eat. We will give them a 2nd chance if back in the area.

Visiting from PA and found this restaurant. Great food and friendly atmosphere. Hubby had Marco's and cheese omelette, home fries and toast. I had creamed chipped beef over toast (SOS) and grits. The grits were creamy, very good!! Highly recommend for breakfast only since that's all we had there.

We love the Golden Bear we come more than once each time we visit Florida. We used to have another favorite diner in Florida but for the last two years Golden Bear is our number 1 favorite. Excellent friendly service
