It's such a great old style restaurant. So welcoming and great food. You feel like part of the family when you eat here. A local told us it was a great place to eat, and we're so glad they did. It's nestled behind other businesses, so we would never have found it on our own. Don't miss eating at this local secret restaurant!

Cozy atmosphere, staff were very helpful in looking up allergy info and helping me to my table. They offered to get me a high chair. It's a walk thru and order type set up, so I was pleasantly surprised when they offered to help me so much. The environment was clean , well lit, and had a nice atmosphere. Would be great for lunch or dinner. Food was tasty and prices were reasonable.

Finally a restaurant in St. Louis that serves a GOOD eggplant sandwich! Being a vegetarian, it's always hard to find a good vegetarian options for Italian sandwiches. It was my first time at Grassi's. I ordered a takeout for lunch and the sandwich was GREAT. Will definitely return soon!

Grassi’s is a great all around restaurant! I always get their roast beef sandwich with cheese and a salad. Their food is great every time! I also have had their pizza and it is delicious, too. Highly recommend!

I hate to have to do this, because we are regulars at Grassi’s, but I had to throw it out there because what happened just wasn’t right. One of my sons is vegetarian, one of my sons can’t eat meat for medical reasons, and my husband’s on a diet and trying to abstain from meat, so, as we have every time in the past, we ordered cheese toasted ravioli. Tonight we ordered 25 cheese ravioli, and when my family goes to eat them, they realize that they are all meat and not cheese, which meant neither of my kids had dinner This has happened at least three times in the past, and I’ve never called Grassi’s or complained, but I did call this time, asked them to remake them and inconveniently drove all the way back to pick them up. The surprising part was when I arrived, I explained to the gentleman at the register that we’ve ordered cheese and ended up with meat ravioli several times in the past and I have never brought it to their attention. He seemed mildly apologetic, told me it happens all the time and advised me to ask to have my order read back to me, thus implying that the onus or fault was on me for not taking extra measures to ensure that they got my order correct. ???? I responded with “I’m not sure how this is my fault, but in light of the fact that it has happened several times, you don’t feel any need to reconcile the situation?”(meaning with anything, e.g., some free garlic bread, some type of coupon for some free cheese raviolis next time we came, WHATEVER he wanted to offer because it clearly was about the gesture, and had nothing to do with what he actually offered.) At that point, I noted I that I even tipped the guys $7. At this point, the guy opened up the register, took seven bucks out and begrudgingly sort of tossed it to me saying “here’s your seven dollars back.” Not the way to conduct business, in my opinion, and I’m hoping this review will prompt them to figure out a way to make the correct raviolis, i.e. the raviolis that the customer actually ordered, and not just whatever the kitchen makes regardless of the actual order. SMH

First time in and I will be back! Great for a lunch. Super fast and high quality food. Prices were great, heck, even the iced tea was fresh and good.

This is a sure bet for good, home cooked type Italian food. The sauce is great, the salad is delicious and the meals are well portioned. We enjoy each time we attend. A little hidden off the beaten path place. Don't miss it.

I had a fantastic dinner here the other night. My out of town friends get all excited about trying out The Hill for Italian food. I say, forget the hype. Grassi's is Italian food perfection. Chicken parmigiana, linguine with meat sauce, portion size just right. With enough tasty bread and butter so you can get ALL of the delicious sauce (gravy) before sending the plate to the dishwasher. I'm not a marinara fan, so the meat sauce is just my style. The sauce is well-balanced, has a bit of kick, but not so hot that your nose is running after one bite, and it's not excessively sweet, either. And the simple, but tasty, Italian dressing, lettuce, and green olive salad. With a fountain drink, it was all under $15!!! I am definitely coming back! Update, I came back a week later, tried the veal parmagiana this time. Fantastic!!!! Another thing to mention is the great atmosphere here. Super nice folks running the place, and the clientele really make it feel like home. Next visit is either pizza or a deli sandwich. It all looks great.

Was there again and SOOOOO GOOOD!! One of my favorite places to grab a salad and a roast beef sandwich. They've been serving great food for decades.

First time here and definitely not the last . Neighborhood location and larger inside than it looks. Comfortable and very clean interior and the service was fast, friendly and helpful. Very popular place for lunch and dinner and they do a large carry out business. I had the Italian salad which was freshly made and the croutons were house made and delicious. (Came back next day for another salad) Deluxe pizza was fantastic, thin crust , tangy sauce and loaded with sausage, peppers, olives, pepperoni and more. You definitely need to give them a try and they won’t disappoint.

Pasta, salads, and pizza with a smile. We came with our field hockey team after a practice and they treated our kids like we were from the neighborhood. Good portion size and simple but perfect salads to go with the meal. Quick service.

Lunch was so delicious we didn’t take pictures!!! We will be back!!!

Went back to grassi's and ordered a fantastic large pizza special that fed 3 of us. The special included a large pizza and 2'salads and is on Fridays and Mondays. We added one more salad (with green olives) and had leftovers. Great thin crust pizza....perfect bacon crumbles and hamburger...we all enjoyed our meal and grassi's is handicapped accessible parking and entrance.. _-------- Haven't eaten here in years and met a friend for lunch. Had the Vito special and it didn't disappoint! Ham and roast beef sandwich on cheese garlic bread with a delicious side salad. All for $11, you can't go wrong with this!

Love the neighborhood feel. The Cafeteria style is fun. The service is top-notch. The food is amazing. Love the sauce! They have one of the better pizzas in the area. Stays amazingly crispy with a great cheese blend. Always a great experience.

Still a fast and wonderful casual Italian. You get in line to order, pick up your salad, sit down and they deliver your entree.

They didn't have a great selection of wines and I got a horrible headache from the one I chose. They don't have wine glasses, or they just didn't give me one🤷🏿‍♀️. I think the wine needed to be aerated and that may have been the issue. The salad and toasted ravioli that I ordered was good. I like the salad the best, he asked if I wanted olives and mixed everything together right in front of me! It was a quick stop to pass time while I waited for my kids to complete their tennis lessons but it was enjoyable. There were no other customers while I was there but any other time I've passed by the parking lot was full.

Our carry out order included a sausage and mushroom pizza, toasted ravioli (cheese and meat), roast beef sandwich, side salad, broccoli pasta and French fries. I'll make this quick: All wonderful (I mean everything was sooo good)...generous portions...excellent speed of service...a great value...a real gem.

Hands down, the food is great…the salads and sandwiches are wonderful. However, I believe asking questions are frowned upon. Weeks ago I phoned in an ordered and was asked to hurry bc there was a line (at 10am…..really). This afternoon, the gal behind the counter answered the question that was directed to me by the gentleman cashing out my order. I wonder how those with speaking disabilities would feel…..just FOOD for thought!!! Efficiency is important-politeness is paramount!!!!

You cannot see this hidden gem from the road nor is there a sign with their name on the road. When you do find it you’ll be greeted by the bright, clean and airy ambiance. The staff is quick and professional in taking your order at the counter and then deliver your food to your table. I got the roast beef sandwich which was hot and melted in my mouth. I also got the pizza which was thin crust and had a tasty sauce. Both came with their famous Italian salad which reminded me of what my grandma used to make.

Great people. Lasagna was sad and soupy. Sandwiches are good.

Carry-out service is always friendly. Food quality very good, with serving sizes generous (entrees have enough for two medium sized meals, supplemented by their tasty bread). My wife & I agreed that Grassi's Caesar salads are a better choice than their house salad if you intend to save part of it for a later meal. The only thing negative is their choice of 3rd-party on-line ordering supplier; I'll call the restaurant directly to order takeouts from now on.

Tucked away in a non-descript location, this is a locals favorite in Ladue. Nothing fancy but hard to find something that is not delicious. Their pizza and salad are amazing!

Very casual place with a food line where you order. The soft drinks (coke products) are self serve, and they bring your entrees out to your table. The pizza is really good, and the main reason I go. Most of the rest of the food is also good, from what I've sampled. The exception is the garlic cheese bread. The base bread is pretty meh, then that is smeared with some weak garlic butter with no other seasoning. It's finally topped with a few thin slices of cheese that is barely melted. The whole thing is a tragic affront to garlic cheese bread everywhere.

This spot is a local legend. Cafeteria style with an amazing menu. All of them have funny names, and fun stories. Definitely not a healthy food stop, but it amazing and delicious.

One of the simplest, yet best, meatball subs ive had in the entire stl area. I was there with a friend and between us we tried a lot of stuff on the menu. Everything was great and the staff was attentive and friendly. This is not what i would expect for the area, and it is tucked away a bit, but i think this is a great place to stop for lunch and get great quality

I have been eating at this restaurant for over 40 years. It's changed ownership a few time but they still have the original menu. The Italian salad is always a tasty choice. I ordered the salciccia sandwich and salad. It was delicious.

If you are looking for a nice play, moderately priced , with great service and a wide array of selections, then this is the place for you. They have great meatball sandwich, small personal pizzas, roast beef, or toasted ravioli. Quaint environment as well and located a stones throw from St Louis Public Library and Plaza Frontenac. I highy recommend Grassi's and it has several TV's to catch the NCAA games or a Cards or Blues game.
