BEST MEDITERRANEAN FOOD EVER! i grew up eating different mediterranean all the time and i have to say... green cedar does it best. we got a large fattoush salad, hummus, and 2 sandwiches all for $30 and everything tasted amazing. definitely coming back!!

Green Cedar is a hidden gem nestled in a strip mall, serving up some of the best Middle Eastern food in the city. Any time I order, the food is consistently delicious, bursting with flavors and freshness.

Best chicken shawarma in the area. Update 9/5/18 never disappointed. Update 6/20/21 still not disappointed. Update 7/1/22 Wally and the crew are the best. Update 6/11/24 the best!

First time and it was thoughtfully prepared food. Looks good, tastes great and prices are reasonable. Before lunch rush parking was ample. Attention to detail in food prep was impressive. Dine in space is nice albeit tight. Easy to recommend highly.

Stopped in for a Tawook sandwich, hummus and bread. The food was absolutely amazing and the staff was so polite!! It deserves a 10 star!! I highly recommend and will be making this my go to for food!!

The food and service were excellent. The dining area is a little small, but has a combination of maybe five high-top and low-top tables. It's one of those places where you place your order at the counter and they will bring your food to you at your table. We had a falafel wrap and a chicken shawarma, and everything was delicious. They also have a very cool collection of old hardware and contraptions mounted on the wall throughout that are fun to check out while you wait for your food.

Just went for the very first time. This is a gem of a restaurant tucked away in a strip mall. The food was amazing and fairly priced. I had the Super Deluxe sandwich, it was perfect. The dining room is very quaint and welcoming. I'll definitely be back.

Food is fantastic. Had baba ganoush, fatoush salad, falafel sandwich, tawook chicken sandwich (pickled veg is awesome) and baklava. Everything was fresh, well seasoned and prepared. Place is small, clean and staff welcoming. We eat here whenever we’re in the area and it is consistently our favorite.

$15 salad. It was good, but small in size. I went and got a salad at Novi Coney Island and put it right next to it see photos Novi Coney Island sale is the big one for one dollar more.

First time here, and we instantly became a regular. The food was delicious and Ali was spectacular and provided the best dining experience I’ve had in a long time.

I wrote a review for this place over 10 years ago and my opinion has not changed- Green Cedar has the best hummous I have ever had and the people in there are just outstanding. I live far away from there now but always make it a point to visit when in the area. Falafel is good, shawarma is good, rice pudding is good, great pita, but that hummus... I'll eat it with a spoon, for real. (I'm eating yesterday's leftovers *right now*, in fact. So good.) Pro-tip: This isn't fast food, and they sometimes need 15-20 min for takeout. Call in your order.

I don't usually write reviews or like giving low ratings but I was a non stop weekly customer until today when I got charged $11 for 2 pita bread packs. At least respect the Quraan quotes you have in that place brother. 11 dollars is not gonna break me but that was theft.

Avoid this place. Picked up food at 8.45 when they were closing . I am served with literally leftover food from refrigerator. Chicken shawarma is ice cold. Instead of serving fresh they did not even take efforts to even reheat the food. Chicken is not cooked and raw. Worst middle eastern food in livonia / Farmington Hills .

This is the best hidden gem. You can tell that they buy high quality ingredients which is not something I can confidently say about other middle eastern restaurants around. Their quality has not dropped ever in the 12 years I have eaten here. And of course it tastes amazing and prices are reasonable.

First time. Probably last. However, the guy that chased me out was handsome. Almost 7 dollars for a sharama with added salad is about normal. But I don't want cut chicken breast when I order Sharma chicken. Also there was only lettuce in there for the salad oh and the yucky pickles I asked to be held out. Sad face. I ate it because I only had a few mins for lunch break but wasn't pleased about it. The place is cute, clean,small, and quaint.

Amazing sandwiches. We got the meat and the chicken and the spices on both were amazing. Going back to try the dinners. Very close to home. Love it

I was in a pickle throwing a bridal shower and the venue lost power and did not have ability to provide food. I went to green cedar hoping they could help, and they stepped up! With an 18 hour notice they were able to provide catering for 70 people and they even delivered it. They worked with my budget and were so helpful navigating the menu and offerings. On top of the amazing service, the food was amazing and I had multiple people ask where it was from!! 10/10 would recommend and will return! Thanks green cedar - ya saved the day 😊

I went here for chicken shawarma for lunch i have had chicken shawarma from alot of different places but this place here is exceptional it is the absolute best chicken shawarma the owner wally is amazing and made me feel very welcome. Cant say enough good stuff about this place i went two days in a row now!

My friend and i finally tried this place and oh how happy we were too! Iv heard many great things about this restaurant and I truly have to say this is hands down thee BEST middle eastern restaurant in Mi. Everything from the sandwiches, hummus and salads were all amazing! Came here two days in a row and drove all the way from 25 min and it was all well worth it! Excellent service and very clean place! Green Cedar makes the most delicious food. Their hummus is excellent! The cooks are friendly, professional and great guys. Wally is the best! I drive past many middle eastern restaurants to get to Green Cedar and it is truly worth it. I get carry out and I definitely get my money’s worth. Check them out. You will be glad you did!

I called for take out and ordered a $120 meal by accident. I thought I was ordering a 40$ meal....when I arrived and received the bill i explained that it was an accident on my part and they generously gave me this huge large wonderful meal for 40$..when i realized that they were giving me much more extra food i offered to pay more and they wouldn't except any money!!!!!..They were VERY kind...I'll repay them by staying a loyal customer.

Quality/quantity decreased while the prices increased too much. In the past we’ve spent around 70-80 for their large platter and it usually comes with fried kibbeh, a few pieces of falafel, and if I remember correctly some stuffed grape leaves. For sure the platter came with lots of nice cuts of lamb, beef, and chicken with some shawarma in the side. We’ve been raving about this restaurant to friends for years and we always order from here when we have guests. Tonight was a special night and we decided to order a platter. Keep in mind that this is a rare and special thing for us. We can’t afford to do this regularly. I don’t know what exactly transpired over the phone because my wife called the order in… But she did tell me that someone told her the price was going to be higher than usual. When I went in to pick up our order, it was nearly $120. I didn’t flinch because I know that recent inflation has caused food prices to increase. I assumed we would be getting the usual high quality platter that we always get and I was willing to pay more for it. What we got was disappointing. First of all, there was no fried kibbeh, no falafel, and no stuffed grape leaves in the tray. These are items that we are accustomed to getting with their platters. The tray was bedded with bland, overcooked, unseasoned parboiled rice with semolina. We are used to more flavorful rice from this restaurant. Sadly, the portions of meat were totally skimpy. Definitely not as much as we usually get. Moreover, it seems like half the tray was filled up with chicken shawarma instead of actual cuts. We were given a huge bag of bread, but only a tray of hummus that looked like it was for one or two people… Almost like they used the spoon to spread it out and make it fill the tray instead of actually just filling it. Aside from the rice, the flavor was pretty good, but we will definitely think twice before catering for guests here in the future.

Born and raise in Dearborn. This place has the best chicken shawarma sandwich, hands down. I have tried many places and nothing even comes close. The food is always good and the service is outstanding!!! The chicken shawarma is so good, I won’t go anywhere else.

After you have the hummus here you’ll realize that store bought hummus is a hate crime. You can eat the hummus from green cedar straight from a spoon it’s 20/10, A+, gold medal.

Great Mediterranean food and friendly customer service. Highly recommend if you like Mediterranean/Middle Eastern food. The falafel and chicken shawarmas are especially delicious. There is no shortage of great Mediterranean restaurants in the area, but I tend to frequent Green Cedar the most due to the great food and the great service that comes with it.

Hands down the best hummus and grape leaves i’ve ever had. The veggie platter/combo is an amazing deal and I can eat it for days. Just recently asked for double hummus and no baba ganoush and they mixed it up. Gave me a large hummus in return when I called to let them know. I tell everyone about this place. Great food, amazing customer service 10/10 you have to try it.

My daughter and I were passing through on our way home to Ann Arbor. She’s a vegetarian and always looking for healthier options. Google suggested Green Cedar. Absolutely awesome! Professionally decorated, very clean, and a very peaceful atmosphere. Lots of regulars seemed to be coming through continuously, and Mr. Walied and his staff seemed so gracious for every one of them and VISE VERSA! And we could see why!! Great food, great portions, reasonable price no doubt, and just a really positive place to experience!! Our first time there, we definitely plan to return in the future!! Possibly make it a regular visit after getting our hair cut from the V Salon right across the street!!!😃. Thanks Google for the recommendation!!!! I totally recommend!

My office is very close by, I’ve been eating here on average once or twice a week for about 2 years. But I order the same thing every time, and the price changes almost weekly. When I finally asked why, the gentlemen gave an excuse about “add ons” but I didn’t have any. They advertise their lunch combo on all their menus as $11.50, why is there one cashier that always charges me 15 when the rest don’t?

This is my all time favorite! Absolutely the best middle eastern food I've ever had (I've had a lot) I basically go there once every two weeks for dinner. Portions are great, prices are just right, good location and the owner is so very nice and appreciative. I would recommend Green Cedar to everyone! Thanks for the amazing food! Update: I still love this place, however the lack of picking up the phone has been pretty terrible. And the food has gone down a little with newer staff. :(

Great food at a very reasonable price. Chicken shwarmas ordered late in the day can be a little dry; but everything else we have had was fresh and very authentic. Fattoush was excellent. Have had most dishes on the menu multiple times

5/22 Tonight, we ordered the exact same meals/ hummus that we ordered in March and the bill was $5 more tonight😕 They had just raised their prices, in March and it seems they’ve done so again- I understand they’re keeping up with Fattoush and Sheesh, who are now charging $20/$22 an entrée. My husband chooses Sheesh because the quantity/quality - We can split a meal and he will feel full- he didn’t feel that tonight‘s meal was worth the $$$ - quantity was too small for cost 🙁 I wish they would get their website updated too- 3/22 Wow! We ordered 2 dinners and a large hummus to split between 4 ( lighter eaters😁) and it all was delicious- perfect! Not one complaint- Everything was full of flavor ( and not just salt) - perfectly seasoned- Nothing was over cooked or dry- There are several ME restaurants in the area, so competition is stiff- I Would choose this place over the other main two competitors because their prices are reasonable for quality and quantity ( quality being the priority)- Quality, flavorful…The hummus beats others because it’s so creamy and flavorful- I didn’t have to doctor up with lemon juice, olive oil, salt…-The side salad is the perfect portion and I love that they chop it up and not give you huge leaves of lettuce- Their dressing is also perfect because it’s not overwhelmingly seasoned with sumac- some of the dressings can be overwhelmingly tart or have a very salty taste this place doesn’t have that issue at all. I also appreciate that they do not give you 3 pounds of rice- the rice is the perfect portion amount. The entrées are appropriate portion size to me - I can get two meals out of one entrée whereas my husband would only one meal out of an entree- Service was friendly- they have updated their menu and the prices have gone up but I find the prices to be reasonable. Definitely will be back- I would love to try their chicken but I’m fussy and after reading the reviews about it being quite dry I’m not sure…I will definitely be a regular! 2-22 I was pleasantly surprised! I ordered the lunch combo- Meat shawarma w/ rice and lentil soup ( which came with a piece of pita) The sandwich was tasty, medium portion of meat- the rice was delicious- it actually had some flavor which usually I find the side rice at other ME places to be bland- The soup was tasty- a lil salty but very tasty- The pita ( sandwich and extra piece) were perfect! Had that perfect fresh taste wit a bit of chew to it- $10 ( included drink) You can’t get this at any of the other ME places within that area- The guy running the cash register was very nice- EDIT: LUNCH SPECIAL HAS GONE UP IN $

Honestly I haven’t had bad food/service yet and I come here often! Best flavor, freshness and price for at least a 7 mile radius! When ever I have a gathering of friends and don’t want to cook this is where I cater out. I genuinely will go out of my way to get take out here.

Wasn't sure what to expect when we first went in. Seemed like it was set up as a fast food restaurant but boy or we wrong. Not many tables but we did eat in. The service was wonderful the food was very good. Prices were extremely reasonable.
