I come from a long line of old school Italians and we take food very seriously.. This place is hands down best Italian restaurant in swfl and anyone that says different doesn't know what there talking about cause this is the only Italian place I will go everywhere else is mid at best

The food is exceptional, and the portions are great. The service is above what you would expect from a restaurant. Every member of the staff we came in contact with were polite and they also were very attentive. Cannot wait to go back.

A very good restaurant, which is not a chain. The food was very tasty, it was well seasoned, the ckicken was perfect and the vegetables and the pasta with the Alfredo sauce were breathtaking. The service was very good and attentive. Unfortunately the restaurant doesn't look that nice from the outside, but otherwise it is highly recommended.

Family run restaurant. Rather inconspicuous from the outside. We were drawn to the good reviews and we weren't disappointed. Really good fresh food. Rather small menu, which for me is an indication that the food is freshly cooked here. Very warm people.

While this place is a little tight on space (people vote with their feet and this place was packed on a Friday night!), the competent and gifted owner/hostess Raquel will make your time there a pleasure. The ingredients are fresh daily and the flavors in the Pork Milanese she recommended for me was "divine" in the biblical sense (e.g. showing the flavor-design qualities God put into the created world that excellent chefs and recipe designers can capture, Rom. 1:20). Portion size was large enough for two senior citizens who don't metabolize all the calories we used to be able to eat :>) And a big plus--drink prices are much more reasonable than many similar upscale restaurants.

The food and service was excellent. However, the booth was too small and very cramped. The seats were too low. We were seated near the main entrance and everytime someone opened the door the sun was in our face. Blindingly so.. this is Florida after all Easy fix to mount a partition on the back if the booth seat nearest to door. If it were my restaurant I would eliminate the substandard booths and add standard table seating. It would provide better comfort and better atmosphere enhancing the dining experience. The front of the house is as important as the kitchen even in a small restaurant. Hope this is helpful because we truly loved your food. It deserves a better serving area

I was vacationing in Cape Coral for a week and was craving some Italian food. Did a quick google search and found this absolute gem. My friends and I decided to stop and get some dinner. Little did we know we were about to eat the best food we have had on the entire trip. The restaurant’s ambiance was absolutely amazing and very comfortable to eat and relax. The servers and owner were very friendly and attentive. I ordered the chicken parm and it was the best food I had eaten all week! Definitely a 10/10. Any time I’m in Florida I will be making my way to Gustos!

Such a ln amazing little gem! We crossed the bridge to Cape Coral to try something new and found Gusto. The owner greeted us when we walked in. Had a very short wait at 7 pm on Saturday night. The server was friendly and knowledgeable and recommended 2 great dishes that we shared, Chicken and Shrimp La Rosa and Tortellacci Gusto. Great food, and amazing staff. Will definitely return and highly recommend! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

The food was ok for Florida Italian food. People are nice. We didn’t love it but we didn’t leave hungry. A good place. Not a 5 star restaurant though.

Absolutely fabulous. The Calamari appetizer was cooked to perfection. My Veal Picata was very tender, and the butter sauce was smooth and creamy. If nobody was looking, I would have picked the plate. Finished with espresso and Tiramisu. Another dish that deserved a plate licking. I felt like I had a personal chef cooking food just for me the way I like. Will definitely be going back. Bravo, Gusto.

Bar-none of the nicest iltalian restaurant we have ever been to. The food was top-notch, the service was incredible, and the atmosphere was incredible. Thank you so much for a wonderful experience and an even better meal. Very impressed.

Gusto is consistently the best Italian restaurant in town. Just get there during the summer when there isn’t a 40 minute wait. You won’t regret it.

The Linguini Pescatore is simply wonderful. Authentically Italian for me. The staff and the chef are very friendly. Sure it's a bit dark inside but the food makes up for it. Thank you, we will be back.

A nightmare. The food was delicious. But something was wrong I had to go to the emergency room, vomiting with stomach ache and diarrhea. My husband also got sick but not as sick as I did.

I've been coming here since they VERY FIRST opened... I LOVE this place. Such an absolutely adorable, quaint, clean, friendly, lovely mom and pop restaurant. Equivalent prices to Carrabba's, but I love the quality of the ingredients, inventiveness of their menu, and flavor of the dishes. The staff is always incredibly attentive. The owner's wife ALWAYS greets me at the front door. They make sure you're comfortable while waiting. The owner Vincenzo is a stunning chef. The servers are always sincerely polite, and knowledgeable about the menu/offerings. I love their complimentary bread, house salad, chicken parmigiano, fettuccine alfredo, chicken and broccoli. I pretty much ALWAYS order the same dish now. I'm OBSESSED with their Shrimp Scampi dish, but I add in extra extra capers, garlic, and tomato. And.... Let. Me. Tell. You. Something.... I'm salivating right now thinking about that food. Lol I'm actually going tomorrow for date night. Tell them Laurie sent you. ❤️

Phenomenal food! Worth the wait! Flavors are very well developed, and when you eat the food here it feels like you just ate something made at home by your Italian grandmother. Also they have great red wine options. We'll definitely be back again!

Another amazing dinner! This is our favorite places to go. It’s a hidden gem for sure There are only 10 tables, so it is a very nice atmosphere. And if you have to wait a few minutes to get seated, it is definitely worth the wait. Tonight’s choices were chicken marsala, and veal Michelangelo. Yummy! The owner and wait staff are very personable. They take the time to get to know what everybody likes. This definitely should be on the top of your list of choices for phenomenal Italian food in the Cape

Let's start with the reservation process. We wanted a 6 pm seating for four. We were told to arrive NLT 5:45 pm as seating is in 'groups,' so other patrons will be arriving at 5:45 pm as well. We arrived just prior to 5:45 pm. The waiter was excellent. He was not the problem. The problem came at the end. At 7:05 pm (approx 1 hr 20 min after arrival), the maitre d' starting coming to the table hovering around. About five minutes later, she returned to ask if we had a reservation or were we a 'walk-in'. My wife replied that we had a reservation, and she left the table. Two or three minutes later she returned and took our still partially full water glasses away from us and stacked them together. In sum, we had spent less than 1 hr and 30 min in that restaurant and our welcome mat was being pulled out from under us. I can assure Gusto's that we will never visit them again and, this was our 3-4th visit given the quality of the food. Their approach to a sitting patron is to push them out the door as fast as possible in favor of another patron waiting to enter. They've got work to do on their approach toward reservations and timing of a meal.

The Veal Michelangelo was to die for! The atmosphere was quaint, and the service was phenomenal. I highly recommended, and I will be back!

Food is large portions. Veal Michelangelo was very saucy. Chicken Parmegian had two pieces of chicken, penne and Bolonese sauce. Both delicious. Sangiovese was chilled. Not the best way to serve it. Nero D'avolo was better. Menus online. No bruscetta. Saturday, people line up at 4:30pm for 5pm opening. We got there a couple minutes after 5 and didn't get seated till 6pm. Not much waiting area inside. Couple benches outside. Reservations only for 6 or more.

Love this place. It is one of our favorite places in the area.

The food was really good besides the "well done" edges of my chicken.

Little bit dim inside but who cares since we are hungry for pasta. We are so happy for our orders - mine was Linguini Pescatore and I forgot what the others ordered but they all tasted great. Will come back to this restaurant again for sure.

Customer service was disappointing. Called to make a reservation a week before Valentine’s Day. I was told that I would only need a reservation if it was more than 5 people, if less than 5 people it’s first come first serve. I left work early to be able to take my wife to Gusto’s(on Valentines Day), which I then entered the restaurant and waited about 30 minutes before I could speak with the hostess. The hostess then informed me that I needed a reservation. I then explain to them, that I called 1 week before and was assured I did not need a reservation and could just show up. The hostess then blamed the mistake on a worker named Austin. I am very disappointed by the customer service that I experienced in my attempt to have dinner at this establishment. I followed the company’s instructions and it led me to a complete waste of time.

Unassuming place in a strip mall - we knew we were in a good place when we saw a line out the door just before opening at 5 pm. The place was immediately packed. Food excellent. Service very very good. Wine list limited but acceptable. Would go back often!

Three of us attended this restaurant for the first time. When walking in, our first impression was good, with a little apprehension over the number of tables. With a decent number of parties waiting in front of us, we were told around 30 minutes. Much to our pleasant surprise, the wait time was accurate and reasonable. Our waitress, Melanie, was fantastic and arguably one of the best servers we've ever had. She was knowledgeable, easy to understand, and always attentive. We ordered a bottle of wine (Cabernet) for the table, which was excellent. I will say that it is beer/wine only for alcohol selection, but this didn't bother us. For food we ordered the rice balls, which were fantastic. Great mixture of rice, meat, and cheese and fried to a superb crisp. The marinara dipping sauce had a great taste and consistency. Two of us ordered the Veal Picatta, the other ordered the Veal Michaelangelo (Shrimp, veal, scallops in a brandy tomato sauce). Both dishes were incredible. For the Picatta, the sauce was fantastic from the tartness level to the use non-pariel capers. The Veal itself was unbelievably tender. The Michaelangelo was great, I did not try any scallops, but the shrimp and sauce were outstanding. One quick mention, a lot of places make you request bread these days, Gusto did not. They brought bread promptly after we had been seated. Unfortunately we didn't have room for desert, but I have no doubts that it too would have been excellent. Highly recommend this place, some of the best Italian food we've had in either Michigan or Florida.

Great food, but they just announced they will no longer be accepting cash. That is just crazy. I will no longer be going here. What a shame, but I should have the freedom to choose my payment method.

We do the delivery and food is always hot. I get the chicken and shrimp la Rosa and I love it. I always order this. My son orders the chicken Parmesan and loves it. Chicken is so tender. I highly recommend Gusto Cucina Italian. Food is delicious and great service ♥️

I got the penne borgetto. The flavor was excellent, I would've liked the penne a little more done. (I'm not one to send things back or complain, so they didn't have a chance to correct it.) The bread tastes good, but tough to cut through on the bottom every time we've been there. (Was our 3rd time) The service there is spectacular though, I'd say the best or at least one of the best in the Cape! Nice cozy atmosphere.

Had the Caprese Salad. The tomatoes were ripe and fresh. The lobster ravioli topped with crabmeat and a tomato, vodka, cream sauce was the perfect amount and yummy. The restaurant is small in size so fills fast. The regulars get there before 5 so it's best to arrive shortly after 6pm.

If you are looking for fresh food made when you order, then Gusto Cucina Italiana is the Restaurant. Might be a bit on the pricey side but well worth it! I don't mind paying a few dollars more knowing I'm getting a delicious fresh cooked meal.

I agree with all other posts. This should be 4 stars but I can't fault the restaurant. A woman sitting next to us had a nauseating amount of perfume on. I mean like Pig Pen from Peanuts. I couldn't finish my meal and I'm not overly sensitive. I highly recommend, food, service, ambience, all amazing. Please be careful with the amount of fragrance you use before going out to eat.

This was our first time visiting after hearing so many good things about the restaurant. We did as suggested, arrived 15 minutes before they opened, and got right in (they don't take reservations for parties under 6). Our server was experienced, checking in with us the right amount of times to see how we were doing. We were told upfront that they can substitute on all of the entrees on the menu, which is unheard of, but a nice touch. My husband ordered Penne Borgetto and I had the Salmon Gusto. Both were delicious and done to perfection. The salmon had a wonderful lemon butter sauce that was light and very flavorful, and the roasted potatoes just melted in your mouth. We also had the Crostini as an appetizer and the balsamic glaze that was drizzled over it was the best I have ever tasted. Unfortunately, our dining experience was marred by a party that was seated in the booth behind us. A woman at that table had on so much perfume that it was nauseating. I switched sides with my husband to get him further away from that group, but it was still too much for us and we lost our appetites shortly after they were seated. I suppose we could have asked our server to reseat us but we had already started on our entree and the restaurant was small enough that we did not want to draw attention to ourselves by getting up and moving. And that is assuming we could have moved to another table. We grabbed a couple of to-go boxes, not wanting to wait for our server to bring them, and quickly asked for the check and got out of there as fast as we could. Our fabulous meal was ruined as was our first dining experience. We do not blame the restaurant, but we were both so disappointed that this patron had so much perfume on that it lingered in the air and overwhelmed us to the point we had to leave. I hope this serves as a reminder to all you women out there that a little perfume goes a long way and to be considerate of the people that will be sitting near you in restaurants. Will we go there again? YES! The food was so good and what are the chances of that happening twice in a row. BTW, we did order the Cannoli Cake to go and it was the saving grace later that evening. So delicious.

The food here is superb. My mom isn't able to get out much so we have only ordered delivery. The portions are huge and it's always still hot when we get it. Any dish we have tried has been excellent , the Pork Milanese is my go to. My mom loves the Chicken & Shrimp la Rosa, it last her a couple of meals. If you love Italian food, give this place a try !!

What this restaurant lacks in curb appeal, they absolutely make up for in quality. I was pleasantly surprised by how good the food was and our server was very professional and polite. It’s not a very big dining room, so get there early as it fills up fast.

As a graduate of the culinary institute of America and this is, if not, the best Italian I have ever had. Chef Vince knows what he is doing and grateful for this team.

I stumbled across this place while checking if Olive garden delivers on door dash or Uber eats. We were a bit iffy as we had not heard of this restaurant. I am so GLAD I listened to my gut. Everything was amazing. We didn't take pictures because we ate everything so fast. You'll just have to try it for yourself! We will definitely be back for more 🤤

My husband and I went there for dinner. Surprisingly enough we were shocked that it was actually very good. We moved here in June 2023 and till today have not found a good authentic Italian restaurant in Cape Coral. The food was good. The service was excellent. Our server Mark was very professional and attentive. We’re so happy we tried Gusto. We will definitely be going there again.

Outstanding food, service and atmosphere. Had Veal Marsala and wife had Pescatori. Charcuterie board was a great app and the Tiramisu was an awesome finish.

Some of the best Italian food in Cape Coral. I highly recommend it.
