The chicken is tasty and they could have given 2 sauces instead of one for 5 chicken tenders. The fries could have looked better, there wasn't enough seasoning on them and it looks like they've been cooking in old grease. Also didn't know they changed their name from Guthrie's to Traditional Chicken 🤔

Blatantly Racist against white people at night time. Cook playing on nasty cell phone and going outside to smoke and handling food. Will never come back to this location.

Chicken tenders and fries were burnt. I asked for a refund and they said nothing was wrong with it. kinda got an attitude while taking the drinks back and they spilled it.

The chicken and tenders with gold bbq sauce is slamming. Now they have lemon pepper okra and oh my God!! Flavor just bursts in your mouth! Definitely try this!! Friendly staff, great place to eat!

Food was good. The wait time was terrible. The fact that they allow bums to walk in off the street and ask customers for money is pathetic. Guy running the register talking in such a low tone you can't hear them. Counter tops sticky. Asked for extra sauce, was charged for it and didn't get it. Since it was a take out order I didn't realize it till I was gone. Also asked for a medium sweet tea and a large cup of ice. I was charged for 2 large drinks. I'll not be back

Lady behind the counter is eating sunflower seeds and spiting them into the trash can next to her while taking orders. Not washing her hands and coughing into her hands while customers are in front of her. I will not be eating here again.

Been working at UAB Hospital for 2 years roughly, I often come here and eat the snack box. Always hot food taste amazing. Never did wrong with the amount of fries nor chicken. Price is good. All around a good place. When it's busy, it's a little slower but that's expected.even if busy they serve you well with food.

Good but small chicken fingers, generic food-service krinkle fries, but UNBELIEVABLY slow and apathetic service. I eat here about twice a year to remind myself why I don't go more often. Thursday, it took their 4 staff members a full 10 minutes to produce my snack box. There was only one other person in front of me, and she also waited 10 minutes for her single order. If you have a limited lunch break, avoid this Guthrie's.

Normally really fast, but waited nearly 30 minutes for a grilled chicken salad. After getting the salad, half of the lettuce was wilted/brown and also barely cut. I know it’s not the typical place to get a salad, but it shouldn’t be on the menu if they’re not comfortable/efficient in preparing it.

This particular location went from being one of the best to now being the absolute worst in customer service. First, the counter workers were too busy chatting/socializing with their “favorites” that they were too distracted when I was placing my order. Second, it took forever for them to get orders ready as many of us waited 10-15 minutes. Finally, although they gave me a number for my order, the cashier obviously didn’t have the number on the order ticket. If she had been paying attention to taking my order instead of letting her mind wander off by talking with her pals, perhaps she wouldn’t have messed up my order. Absolutely the worst customer service experience that I’ve ever had at any Guthries. Just wish I could give zero stars.

Decent. Nothing to ooh and aw about. $.50 extra sauce only for the cup to be half full. Sweaty chicken and batter peeling off. Grease chicken fried in has an after taste. Not on my head about trying again. I had the snack box: 3 chicken tenders, fries, toast, 1 guthrie's sauce

This store is not what it use to be. The workers are not pleasant. The Wings are small and expensive a10 wing combo is $20 plus. But, you can go right there to BWW, down the street and get 10 wings & Fries for $16+.

Thanks for closing early when I was craving it.

The chicken is great here. Fries ok. Tea is great. Customer service is the typical urban worker that doesn’t care what you do. Only thing is there’s usually plenty of street people laying on the sidewalk out front begging for “spare change”.

We took our students on a field trip to the McWane Center and stopped into Guthrie’s on the way home. We had 5 teachers, 2 administrators, and 30 children 3rd-8th grades. Mr. Tony and Mr. Antonio was so very kind to our students and us. Guthrie’s should be proud to have these gentlemen working for them. They worked fast, accommodated our large group, and was still able to fill online orders. Thanks guys! You guys are the best!!

After all these years the food is still amazing

My fries were cold. I didn't receive the signature sauce. The coleslaw tasted like it was store brought. I didn't receive a receipt & the manager had a bad attitude.

Love me some Gutherie’s. This place is dine-in where the one in Homewood is only drive thru. Great food. I know it is supposed to be all the same but the food was really prepared well. Staff was very courteous and glad we were there. Parking was a pain but anywhere down here is. We like Zaxbys but Gutherie’s is just better.

Service was great, good location. Tried it out as a Birmingham go-to. I wasn't all that amazed at the taste. To me, Zaxbys or Chick-FilA is more flavorful.

The cole slaw is always hit or miss and although the staff is friendly in person when ordering. They aren't as nice when you tell them they've messed up an order or two.

Upon arriving at UAB I noticed this place and googled for info on it. Decided to check it out, glad we did! Awesome chicken tenders and fries, the sauce is amazing and even after carrying it back to the hospital room it was still hot! The staff was helpful in my decision making process and patient with my multiple requests. We will visit again before our discharge date.

It was decent, nothing to write home about. Ive had better & worse. Only bad thing i can say is the chicken fingers are real small.

I'm in love with the this place

This is the quickest and most affordable place we have found near UAB hospital. The chicken and fries were really quite tasty. Not much else to say about a tender basket. We have eaten here multiple times. :)

“Tough To Beat” This is a well run establishment. The food is fresh and the wait is minimal on busy days. The management keeps the tables clean and trash emptied. This well worth the visit if you are in the Birmingham area.

Always a great experience at this location. The owners are normally here and are very nice. There is usually a line unless you go on the weekends, but they do a great job of getting people taken care of quickly

a fast casual place, the chicken fingers are very well done. the sauces were good as well. my wife got a wrap, also good. place seems to run well, it was busy but we didn't have to wait, had seating outside in the shade.

Visiting a relative in the UAB hospital. Guthrie's is right downstairs. The chicken is good, hot, fast, and not expensive. The sweet tea is great. I love this place.

We love Guthrie's. The chicken fingers are excellent and the French Fries are always served hot and nicely seasoned. The owners are visible and working the counter. Service is excellent. They even have lemon wedges for your iced tea. Jefferson County Health Department score, 99, tells me that they have a clean restaurant and follow proper food handling procedures. We highly recommend Guthrie's for chicken fingers.

I've tried to duplicate their incredible sauce! I got the sauce close, but not perfect. However, their chicken fingers are, as always, never to be copied. They are exactly perfect. Add their garlic toast and..........................OMG !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Their prices are great and service is fast and friendly, as always. If you're in the Birmingham area, make sure you stop for a bite!

Within walking distance from UAB Hospital, it was convenient and just as I remembered having as a college student at Auburn. The employees were friendly and food was delivered quickly.

My daughter ate at another Guthrie's location a few years ago and had a good experience. We decided to give this one a try. Although the food was fresh and hot, we were not impressed. There are many other chicken finger restaurants that are better.

If all you want is chicken fingers and fries this is your place. They formerly had the market cornered on chicken fingers and sauce but a "z" chain restaurant has then beat ( IMO ) with more menu selections
