It's been a few years since I've visited Hai Duong. I really liked their food in the past as they have a lot of Northern Vietnamese dishes that you can't get in other restaurants. I was super excited to visit but was so disappointed this time. We ordered the Banh Xeo (savory pancake with shrimp and pork) and the Lemongrass Pepper Chicken. Within a few minutes, the food was already on the table. That should have been the first clue that something was amiss. The Banh Xeo was good on the edges but as we got to the middle which had more stuffing, something tasted putrid. Im not sure if it was the pork or the sprouts. The meat in the Lemongrass Chicken was especially dry. I have a feeling that it was pre-cooked and they just heat it up. Overall, nothing tasted fresh or worth the price on the food.

The pho is just okay- the soup isn’t too flavorful and is very light tasting. The special pho was also a lot pricier than expected (~$18). The bun bo hue meat is a bit tough to my personal preference.

Good food, good service, very clean. All you need from a restaurant.

My grill pork chop came out in less then 5mins. It was extremely hard and not fresh! I would skip this place. There are other restaurants around to try out.

These guys keep raising their prices higher and higher and you get less in return. A combination large bowl of Pho costs more than $17 and it comes with so little meat. We’ve been going there off and on for several years but now we’re done!

Love this restaurant in Eden Center!!! I recommend this restaurant to people who know how to eat Vietnamese food. The rice bit from here is not bad!!

I have been going to this place for at least 15 years. Always enjoy the friendly staff and their service. However, I noticed the quality and the value have gone down since Covid and post covid. I noticed that the price had gone up right after covid and kept creeping up. A bowl of phở used to be about $6.95, to $9.95 to $11.95 last year, and now it's $15.50. A plate lunch (rice and meat special) is now 17.95 instead of $13.95. Not only has the price gone up, but also the portion has gotten smaller, especially the quantity of meat that comes with the dish. I still like to come here but not as often just because the average meal person is now 20-30 dollars. The value doesn't match the quality of the food.

Very good broth and generous portions. I ordered a small Pho and there was lots of meat in it.

The pho is definitely a good pick here! But they have a ton of rice and noodle options too!

November 2023 - I've visited Hai Duong many times over the years. Menu has increased and it's a solid restaurant for pho and rice dishes. Though the last time the boiled chicken was dry. Friendly staff, quick to respond. Clean. Do recommend.

Bad experience Asking us to leave the baby stroller outside the restaurant to save space for other people. If we knew it, we would not go there. The food is so bad, I ordered Bun Rieu, it was so blank. Never return

My go-to is their hai nam chicken rice. Chicken and rice are very fragrant and the pairing with the pickled cabbage is delicious!

I've tried most of the pho places at the eden center and this one is by far my favorite, and has been for years. I always get the meatball pho and it's great. The prices have gotten pretty high though

Spacious restaurant. Wide selection of various Vietnamese dishes. Bun Bo Hue had a great flavour. My significant other thoroughly enjoyed the chicken rice fish. Happy to see that they do take credit cards!

The food and service was lacking but the main reason for a 1-star is due to shady business. I clearly remembered that I did not tip because prices are already high and they were rude through my entire experience, but my credit card statement says otherwise. I do not recommend this place.

We always go there my whole family but the last 2time now we order Bokho or bun mang vit not really good like before I think they change the ppl to cook …. So I’m sorry 😞 u guy don’t see us anymore there .

The massive crowd did trigger some claustrophobia but other then that I really enjoyed it. My family loves coming here for their Shaking Beef, would love to try some more of their dishes next time!

Chao Long and bánh xèo here are the best.

Really enjoyed the shaking beef salad, the staff was friendly and helpful and the atmosphere was quaint yet giving off the hustle/bustle vibes of a legitimate Vietnamese street diner.

Quick seating. Fresh ingredients.

The dishes were just what I wanted. Prices are a little on the high side (perhaps a dollar or two above other establishments) but the portions are of a fairly good size. Overall I eat there about once every 2 months or about (6-8 weeks). They open early but close early as well, so call ahead to see if they're still open late in the evening.

I ordered the pho to go , it was really good and the portion was great for the price. The service was quick 15 min or less. There is an extra fee for take out containers. I paid around $15 for the meal.

They need to working on customer service especially people with younger kids. We asked for booster for our daughter and the response was “order first” Noted bun mam was salty

The quality has gone down a notch

We (Vietnamese) were in line on Labor Day and there were some tables available, but we understood that the staffs were very busy so we patiently waited. Of note, the party before us (white) were sat promotly (even though their full party did not show up). As we were waiting, a party (white) cut in front of us, not realizing what they did. The staff attended to them immediately and was about to sit them to one of the available table. I informed the guy that we were in line first, after which the guy held up a finger telling us to be quite and wait. The later party realized they cut in line and informed the guy but the guy continued to dismiss our presence and told the that party to sit down anyways. I felt discriminated and left the restaurant.

Excellent Vietnamese restaurant in Eden Center. We enjoyed the bun bo hue and the congee.

Delish as always. I usually stick to the pho because their broth is so amazing. It can heal almost anything that ails me. I've been with friends who have tried other dishes and everyone has always loved what they ate.

Nice and clean Vietnamese restaurant located inside of the crowded Eden Center. Plenty of parking during weekday. Customer service is great and friendly, foods are variety and tasty. Of course, with the current economy inflation , prices for food are up but well worthwhile. We have Cháo Lòng, Pho Hai Duong đặc biệt, cơm tấm sườn, cơm bò lúc lắc. Đều ngon cả. Will be back next time.

Not busy week night. Food was good, though the lettuce served was limp. They increased the prices, so they should at least serve fresh food.

Don't bother going here... terrible service and extremely subpar food at cutthroat prices. First of all - on a busy day, to be seated you are REQUIRED to put in order before they allow you to take a seat at a table. Initially I was put under the impression of "go ahead and see what you want to order while waiting for an available table," but nope I was dead wrong... I was REQUIRED to place in an order before I was allow to go seat down at a table, and I was not even led to the table, we have to do its ourselves. Secondly - for the amount of food portion, I must say I paid a very expensive price for what must be king's quality rice because all I saw was mainly rice, very little meat or vegies. I suggest anyone who wants to eat Vietnamese food, then go to Viet Food which is located in the same location that have much better services and food at a decent cost. If Viet Food was anywhere close to the cutthroat price being asked for at this fastfood joint (not even worth to be mentioned as a restaurant), I would still be happy to pay for it.

Good springrolls and clam rice. Didn't enjoy the noodles whether dine-in or Ubereats - soups are too sweet. Also rather expensive for what you get.

We were here with family and friend on January 29, 2022. We had Hu Tieu and Com Suong special and it was terrible. The Hu Tieu only had a few beef pieces and a lot of sliced Beef Tongue which was a cheaper alternative and it tasted bad as if it was old and was frozen for a long time. My Rice special dish was bland. Old rice mixed with new rice and the pork was fatty and everything was tasteless. I didn't even get my broth with my rice dish and one of the order was incorrect. FYI.. Our order came out rather quickly too by the time we were seated and order placed, our food came out less than 2 minutes later. I give it a single star for quickness on our food but again I think that's why it was not prepared correctly. Just because Chinese New year weekend this restaurant should not diminish in quality and service or did something change in management??

Went here with friends last night and was very happy with how delicious everything was! We got the vegetarian Vietnamese crepe, vegetarian pho, beef pho, and fried rice, and everything was incredibly fresh and well cooked. Service was friendly and speedy, and prices were reasonable too. A number of us were vegetarian, and we especially appreciated that there's a whole vegetarian section on the menu (and they were careful to avoid fish sauce in our dipping sauces, etc.). Already looking forward to going back!

Eden center have staples of Vietnamese restaurants, wife and I decided to dine at this place because of variety and wife craved for bánh xèo and bún bò huế, I ordered my favorite hủ tiếu bò kho. The bánh xèo was crispy and delicious with plenty of veggies to wrap, fish sauce was on point. Wife said her BBH one of the best she had especially the pig feet was very tender to the bite. My hủ tiếu bò kho was piping hot and the meats were tender like the way it should be. I do recommend this place and will eat here again next time we visit Falls Church area.

Nice, down-to-Earth restaurant. We had Bo Luc Lac and Bun Rieu, and both dishes hit the spot for us. Always glad to support the local restaurants in Eden Center. I remeber always passing by this restaurant as a kid, but never dined in until I was an adult.

If you pay by cc they will over charge you. They like the cash to get around the Tax report. I have been there here and there for lunch and the bill is different if i pay cash or cc. One time i ordered PHO and asked for a small addition meat balls and they charged the meat balls like 10.00 ...!!!!!!! unbelievable.

Extensive menu of what seem to be staples and classics meals. It even had a section dedicated to vegetarian-friendly options! 🌱 The food wasn't mind-blowing but it hit the spot on a rainy Saturday evening. Many patrons seemed very comfortable there, like they come by often and enjoy the food, which made it all feel cozy.

Food here is good as always. Love the fact that they bring you a side bowl of soup with you rice dish.

Came here on a recommendation from a friend and glad I did. Easily the best Pho I've had in a while. Added on spring rolls which were quite delicious as well. Everything was super fresh! Even my teen and his friends agreed - and they eat a lot of Pho. Ordering was easy on my phone and the order was ready in 15 minutes. Everyone was very nice and following COVID protocols. We'll be back!

Banh u'ot wasnt made correctly because it was dry and grainy. Didnt reheat well the following day and was very disappointing. The pastries were light, fluffy, and delicious.

We visited there at the end of Feb. Not sure if it was due to the fear of COVID-19, the restaurant was not busy at all. Our Pho arrived within 5 mins after we ordered! The pho was delicious. Only if the servers were more friendly, I would give it a 5 stars.

Was craving pho and this was recommended to me by a friend. I haven’t had pho in a minute so the hour drive here was well worth it. Driving to their parking lot, it was a very asian heavy open mall. There was a lot of Vietnamese restaurants , who are , I’m excited to say, are Vietnamese owners. It was a busy day because it was New Year’s Day , but we got a seat very quick. We ordered Our food, and to my surprise , the food came out fast too. My friend ordered the egg noodles with some sea food and fish balls. It was very eggy tasting. It wasn’t bad at all. The broth was clear and the taste was clean. I would definitely order it next time. My pho, was very tasty too. Although some of the meat pieces were dry, the tripe made it up and it was very delicious. The broth was very beefy. But it’s not as much beefy flavor in my opinion as it should have ? The rest of the fresh ingredients were not old , and it just gave it that crunchy texture that it needs. The price was not as bad as well. It’s group and child friendly so they accommodate everybody for sure. They accept cash and card. Love this place so far.

Located in Eden you know it has to be decent to survive with all the Vietnamese restaurants located there. Party of 4. No reservations and were seated right away. I had the Shaking beef,menu #10 and it was good but maybe a little overcooked. We also ordered #32, #38 and #59. All were happy. Bill for 4 of us came to $62.00. Parking is hard to find sometimes and may require a long walk of 5 minutes.I would go back.

Having moved from Southern California where they have amazing Vietnamese food, I was looking for a place that was authentic at affordable prices. Luckily Hai Duong does just that. The space is situated in the Eden Center Mall but is super spacious and great for large groups. The menu is super expansive but everything is really solid. They have some of the best pho even though they don't specifically specialize in this like other Vietnamese restaurants. I also love their rice dishes such as the combo plate with shrimp cake, pork chop and vermicelli pork. So solid!!! Highly recommend to also get a side of broth with any of your dishes; is SO good. Service is friendly and overall it's a great place to go and I always crave it!

Delicious authentic Vietnamese food. Good and typical serving size. Stuffed and happy afterward

My husband and I had the shrimp spring rolls for our appetizer and they kindly made them without pork. The seafood egg noodles were delicious, but it felt a little light on the noodles, as well as the spice. I definitely added more sauce to kick up the zest, but everything was cooked well! My husband got another hot soup noodle dish with congealed duck blood, and his was an appropriate level of spice. Both dishes were delicious, mine just felt a little less than satisfying. However, the staff were very knowledgeable and friendly and the busing of the tables was both rapid and thorough. We wouldn’t mind coming back here, but maybe I’ll order more food next time!

My favorite is the Shaking Beef with rice and Beef pho. My kids enjoy eating here.

The food is good. I always order the pho with fatty brisket. The only problem they have I would say not enough waiter. At busy hour, you really need to wait for a while. Other than that, nothing you can complain about this place.

There seems to always be a wait here. Good thing is you can tell them your order while you're waiting for a table so that the food will be ready by the time you sit down. The pho is really tasty, as is the rice dishes. The seating is tight, but it's ok. Pay up front when done.

Don't judge the hole in the wall location and decor. The bun bo hue here is second to none, and we've tried many BBH! There's always a short lady working each time we go and she's super sweet and polite which isn't expected from a hole in the wall. This one is on our regular rotation.

Not to sure if they're under new owners or management but tonight's visit wasn't the standard. Felt extremely rushed and heard staff tell several folks trying to dine in that they were about to close. Pho was ok tonight, my spoon still had a label on it..might give them another shot in the coming weeks...maybe..
