Had the pretzels. Friend had shepherds pie. Food was great. Server was friendly. Tried the burger - excellent.

Great service and beer selection (draught and bottles). Great one-off atmosphere (not a chain) and authentic Irish feel to it. The menu is pretty good and the burgers are recommended as well as the bangers & mash.

I was ignored by the wait staff. Very disappointing since I go pretty often for soccer matches. I doubt I’ll be going back.

Really love the pizza! Drinks are a little pricey but I enjoy the atmosphere. Wings are rockin!

It has an old fashioned bar feeling to it. The food was good and they had an open mic on Tuesday night so it was fun.

Upbeat place with live music and fabulous staff. We were a big party of 15 on a busy Friday night and service was terrific. The food was good the menu has a lot of options many that I don't associate with traditional Irish fare. However the Shepherds Pie and burgers were very delicious as were the mashed potatoes.

We've been coming to Hailey's since they opened. They have consistently good food and service. They offer an excellent selection of draft beer and maintain their taps well. Their bartenders are professional and they offer a nice array of cocktails. We enjoy everything on the menu, especially the Irish fare such as the Irish soda bread and corned beef and cabbage. They frequently have live music. Outdoor seating is available weather permitting. Metuchen is a lovely town with an award winning Main street. Hailey's is an asset to the community.

If you’re looking for an American pub dressed as an Irish pub, this is it. Service was excellent. Music and atmosphere were great. Guinness was not poured with the care a proper Irish pub would display. Glass was cloudy and riddled with bubbles. Hate to nitpick, but for fellow enjoyers of Guinness— look elsewhere. I stopped at 1. That’s saying a lot. The bubble and squeak was a loaded mashed potato. Soda bread was tasty. Corned beef and cabbage was not good. Chicken sandwich and fries were good. If management reads this, I’d love to talk about how we can improve the quality of Guinness being served. The harp is all over the place in your establishment, and it should be proudly honored. I know I’m a quirky customer, but think management sometimes appreciates feedback of this manner.

Went here with coworkers after-work. Service was quick, and it wasn't overcrowded. We enjoyed the food, appetizers only, and the portions were healthy. Overall, it was an okay experience.

A solid Irish pub. It's great when the weather is nice and you can grab one of the outside tables. I like their menus, both food and drink. They usually have interesting cocktail specials in addition to a good beer selection. While I do come here for the traditional Irish food, the last few times my wife and I just ordered 4 or 5 apps to try them all and it was a great decision. I don't really like live music at dinner because I find it can make it hard to talk, so I try to come here when nothing is going on. But I will give it to them, the last one or two times I showed up and there was live music, it was good, so even though I wasn't thrilled I give them credit for picking good local musicians.

My family has now been coming to Hailey's steadily for about 2 years. We have made it our Wednesday hang out place, and my wife and I come additionally for special events like the Beer Senate every month. It's not often you find a place where you are so comfortable you'd come back week after week after week. At this point I think I know every person that works there and even talk with them outside of work. Haileys has brought my family happiness, and a place we can go and know we will get good service by good people. From a bar perspective, I love that they are always changing taps out and getting new seasonable beers (even if I am not an IPA guy and those are popular right now). The place literally has events almost if not every night. You won't find a better Irish Coffee in the area. And while I am used to a few specific servers especially because we come on the same days, we have been served by everyone there and I have yet to have a poor experience. While I am on the subject of service, I'd also like to say I don't see any turnover. So not just from a customer standpoint but a management one as well. The service industry is hard. To keep your employees' long term in it speaks volumes of the working environment. (And maybe your customer base too.) When we come in week after week, its also clear that we are not the only ones as there are familiar faces that we have come to know as well.

My husband and I have been going to this place since we moved to the area back in 2021 never had a bad experience until last week Friday (5.24.24). I ran in to pick up lunch for my husband the guy behind the bar was a tall Caucasian man, who we’ve seen before but never got serviced by him. I approached the bar since I was going to order food to go, I had to wave him down for me to place an order, which is fine he seemed overwhelmed and mentioned to another customer that he was by himself. I ordered the food, paid and left (I knew I was coming back so I thought I’ll tip him when I came back since I was going to dine in). When I got back I sat by the bar, after 7-10 minutes I waved him so I could order a beer. He brought the beer to me and walked away not saying a word. He walked to the other side of the bar to continue his conversation with other customers. I wanted to order food, so when he finally made eye contact (after almost 15 minutes) I waved him so I could place my order, he took my order and walked away. He then brought my food, again no eye contact and no communication, and went back to continue talking with the people from before. He NOT once checked on me to see if my food came out ok, or if I needed anything else. I finished eating and it wasn’t until other people walked in and sat next to me that he approached. Once he finished taking the other woman’s order I asked for the check. He brought it and I gave him my card. I paid and left, his service was HORRIBLE I did not tip him. He ran after me outside as if I didn’t pay my bill to ask me why I didn’t tip him, EMBARRASSING!!!! People around were watching! I explained to him that he wasn’t attentive and not once he checked on me and tips are EARNED. I was a server once when I was younger and the restaurant managers always told us in order to get tip you have to provide great service to EVERY customer that sits at your tables. I was actually disappointed because I never had an issue before with any other server, every time we go and Brandon takes care of us it’s always a great experience. A lot of the servers know me and my husband we are great with tips if we receive good service. I will be taking a long break from going to this place because I shouldn’t feel forced to tip your staff if your staff is not doing their job!

My husband and I were passing by this restaurant on a Monday evening and stopped at the window to look at the menu. A gentleman who seemed to be the manager was coming out of the establishment and invited us to check it out for $10 burgers, their Monday night special. We politely declined because we had just eaten somewhere else, but decided to give it a try this past Sunday the 19th. We invited another couple and had dinner then. Unfortunately based on our experience with both the customer service and the food, this will be our first and last time coming here. Our waiter, Brandon totally missed the mark. Although he wasn't rude, he lacked the friendliness you expect from a waiter. He never came to check on us or offer refills. The food was below average and my chips were very stale and I only ordered them because they were out of sweet potato fries. Overall, the place isn't bad for a hang out at the bar for beer, apps and to watch a game if that's all you need.

Loved this place, it's really nice!

It will get rowdy on weekend nights, but can’t beat the food here!

Enjoyed listening to the band that played May 3. Not loud like some bands. Good mix of songs. Server was attentive even though the place was packed. Enjoyed my French Dip and Fries. Looking forward to coming back.

First timer . We were walking in metuchen and wanted to have a quick bite .. chose this place . The ambience was really good . A perfect sport bar with some soccer / English team flags . I liked the look of the restaurant inside. Parking is crazy .. we had to pay and park a few blocks away . Service was very average . There was only one waitress and once she goes to kitchen to order stuff , she disappears for 5 mins . Took time to take our orders . They have good collection of beers. Liked their IPAs . We ordered some wings and it was just ok. The sauce was kinda sticky . Wings were dry . The only thing I liked about this place is the ambience … average experience overall .

It is not your regular bar just to get yourself a glass of beer, it is a place to enjoy friends, hear music, and try and forget the words of the day. Very crowded but not shoulder to shoulder. Just close together. It is the perfect place to celebrate St. Patty's Day or any holiday with a group of friends or strangers that are about to become friends.

I was here for an outing for a work get-together and everything went well, service and food were great.

Shepards pie came in a to go tin, Ruben served on a plastic plate and had no cheese bread wasn’t toasted corn beef was cold . No sides served with sandwich. Felt rushed. So we just paid and left . Waited 45 mins was told 20mins . Pretty much drank our drinks and left in 20 mins . 🤦🏻‍♂️ Very disappointed.

Nostalgic, warm atmosphere with great service and food! A very welcoming and fun atmosphere Tuesday night with live music! My boyfriend an I went for the first time and he played his guitar for the open mic setup. They made him feel at home and set him up with a few songs. Excellent tacos!

Met some longtime friends at Hailey’s on Feb 4 and overall it was a very good experience. Though it is a bit loud which made it hard to hear across the table, the beer was excellent and the atmosphere was pleasant. It is family-friendly with lots of food options. We had the corned beef sandwich, shepherd’s pie, fish and chips, and the fish sandwich. We would recommend any of the them. Subtracting a star due to the noise and we did have a bit of trouble getting our server’s attention at times. But all in all, it was a pleasant experience and we’d come again.

Good place to hang out and catch a performance by one of our many local musicians. Comfortable friendly atmosphere. The only thing I would point out is their mixed drinks are basically non-alcoholic, I think they wave the bottle over the glass. I don't want to get drunk, but I would like to have a drink.

Spoiler Alert: I'm a senior who has no idea how to work a QR code. Was attending a convention at the Edison Convention Center. Your establishment was well recommended for a post convention drink and dinner. Parked in the public lot. Apparently, Metuchen's parking meters only take payment from a QR code or you download the "park smart" app and then go through a series of tortures to figure out how to pay. Went to the official website and after entering my credit card, etc. to the "official website" got directed to a gaming site that captured all my credit card information. Thankfully, at home, my wife called me to tell me charges of $37.00, $25.00 and $18.00 were coming on our alerts. Needless to say, through my wife's actions, we were able to cancel all the charges. Everyone else in the parking lot also could not figure out how to work the meters. We ended up heading south, and had a great dinner in New Brunswick. Sorry I could not rate your business, because I spent a good 30 minutes trying to figure our how to pay for parking. We all gave up and went to a town that had free parking and respected small businesses.

Always a favorite spot to visit when in Metuchen. Between the live music, delicious food and authentic Ireland Pub Feel— there’s something for everyone here. Soccer games, trivia nights and overall friendliness of both staff and patrons.

It is an impressive Irish pub, very popular both for family and company visits. It's a very pleasant atmosphere, the service is very pleasant and respectful, the cuisine is varied and high-quality, the assortment of beer and other drinks is varied and very high-quality. The place is very convenient for watching various sporting and social events in pleasant company. I highly recommend this place.

Sat in the ball room. Chicken wings were ok. Cocktail was full of ice. Asked the service boy to remove ice. The glass became 40% empty. Had high hopes but it wasnt that great

Hailey’s typically gets 5 stars from me but our experience at the parlor (off back street) was not up to par. The guiness tap was off and then we ordered yuengling and I swear it was some Belgian variety - didn’t taste like Yuengling at all. I was glad that we could hear each other talk but not the same atmosphere either..

I was pleasantly surprised by this place. We were actually going to go somewhere else to eat and it didn't pan out so we wound up going to Hailey's, harp and pub instead. The food was amazing. The atmosphere is great and the service was on point. I highly recommend this place.

Food is fantastic, the eggplant tower is to die for. Their shepherds pie is fantastic, as are the chicken dishes. Lots of great beers to choose from, but come for the music and the friendly staff. Always a great time! Thanks!

A hidden gem in the heart of Metuchen. The restaurant is a few steps from the train station. The wait staff was remarkable and the food (I ordered wings) did not disappoint! I’ve found a new place when in the area.

The fish and chips my boyfriend ordered was quite good. I made the mistake of ordering the Healthy Stew which was a sad plate of beans and some veggies and tomato sauce slapped together with zero effort. They have some great happy hour deals, and I was excited to see Kronenbourg Blanc on draft for just $5. Would come back for drinks!

Pre COVID we were here all the time. Then babies and more babies life changed. We got to go out for my birthday last night and it was a great time. I could play shuffle board and darts for hours. Cocktails are always incredible. The spring rolls are to die for

Great food, can be busy and as a result had to wait a bit for waitstaff to come around and ask if we needed anything else. Parking can be tough, even on a Sunday. We parked on the street on back of the pub, at a municipal parking lot.

Don't order the stew. 17$ for those tiny Chinese to go containers with a few pieces or carrot and potato and legitimately one piece of fatty cubed beef. It was baffling, and salty like the hostess

delicious!! reliable place for absolutely scrumptious food. this past time we went on a sunday night so the game was on, and as such service was slower than usual bc our waiter was watching lol. i usually get the gluten free shepherds pie which is amazing, but this time i got the old bay cod which is nearly as good. my boyfriend got the turkey reuben and it is the only meal i’ve witnessed him unable to finish at the table because it is so filling and tastes amazing. beautiful atmosphere, most weekend evenings it gets very busy (though service is always splendid), and thus very loud, but if this is an issue for you they have seating a bit away from the bar area where it is much quieter without sacrificing the vibes.

This is a really nice pub to enjoy a great meal with friends. Staff is terrific.

Had a great time here but not necessarily thanks to Hailey's Harp & Pub itself. There was live music, which was really cool, and the stew and fish & chips were pretty nice (although the stew was not very hot and for some reason included a piece of bread that was baked so hard it turned into a giant crouton). Soups were very good! But whatever you do, do not order the eggplant tower (see attached photo). It was three heated-up ready made pieces of fried eggplant on a bed of old, sad lettuce with cold slabs of mozzarella and tomato in between. The mozzarella was for some reason square? Don't get the eggplant tower!!!

It was good I love the salmon over the arugula with the sauce on top it was amazing. Not to mention the calamari is thin and crispy and fresh and delicious.

Love this place, food and drinks are great, live band. They renovated the back it's no longer an arcade but a parlor. Cool chill spot! Definitely recommend !

We've been going there about a dozen,years always good food, waitresses. Went there last night for early birthday dinner. All 4 of us were not at all happy with the meal, was plain nasty. Appetizers & the one serving drink was great. Summer the waitresses was beyond not all there. Didn't ask for refills just took my glass. So we're not going there anymore. Shame, I had really liked the place alot.

They always fulfill my cravings when it comes to Guinness chicken. Everytime I try it it tastes the exact same. Unless they have the same cook everytime I order I'm always happy 😊

This place has been around a long time but honestly too small too loud in the service tonight was terrible ready to pass me four times before I had to ask him if I could order then it took literally 20 minutes for the food to come out the first quarter of the devil's game was almost over.

Tried it for lunch today. Waitress assured us fries were crispy. They were so limp, soggy and greasy they fell apart when picked up. I ordered fish and chips from the lunch menu ($10) when the bill came I was charged ($20) because I was served an extra piece of fish that I didn't order. My wife's Reuben was served on bread so hard she had trouble cutting, much less eating it. The 2 beers seemed fresh and good but it was pretty much a $48 lunch disaster........Bob
