I drove by this place a lot and decided to try it. I knew going in it would be a no frills type of taco shop which is fine but the food was also no frills as well. I tried the grilled chicken salad. Literally was only lettuce and chicken and spicy sauce nothing else. can we really call that salad??? The chicken was not even grilled no grill marks no flavor it literally could’ve been boiled chicken for all I know. Maybe there’s better options on the menu but I feel like grilled chicken should be at least grilled. Not worth another try in my opinion. But the service was fast and they were nice. I would prefer slower service for some actual grilled chicken.

Love the creativity in the fusion. It's a hole in the wall place, but the food is actually really good. The Kimchi fries really hit the spot, and the burritos were solid.

Atmosphere is a tough one to give 5 stars on as the building is old and not super appealing but the food was great the service was friendly and quick and it should be 5 stars across the board. Well done Hankook.

Great food at an even greater price!! I ordered the $10 taco combo and oh my goodness it was delicious. The Korean Mexican fusion is a great food combination. I ordered the with the Crispy Chicken "TONG DAK" (crispy chicken with chipotle aioli sauce), Chicken "DAK GOGI" (grilled chicken marinated in spicy Korean BBQ sauce) and sesame fries (tossed in sesame oil, seasoning and red pepper flakes). The service was good and I loved the comfortable and cozy feel of the restaurant. They were also on Triple D!

God!!!! I really don't want to let y'all know how amazing this place is. Cause it's my spot!!! Unicorn out of 10 !!!

Flavorful food decent portions and unbeatable prices

We were excited to try this place after seeing on Triple D especially since my wife is Korean. Don’t let the reviews fool you. Kimchi was not crisp and it was soggy and not good. The taco sauce was bland and the salad that came on it was soggy and warm. Pretty disgusting. The fries were not that warm and the cheese sauce was bland. The chicken taco is about on par with Del Taco chicken wraps. Just not good. On top of that the booths are old and it’s in the hood. They also try and say no cash and there are about 50 signs when you first walk in blasting you about being cashless (which is actually a little bogus bc by law they have to take cash so just leave them the exact change if you want). Highly overrated and definitely disappointed.

Fantastic fusion taco joint. I can recommend every taco on the menu, plus the various daily specials that are NOT on the menu like the Sweet Chili Chicken Taco and Fried Avocado Taco. Their dumplings are awesome as is their fries with spicy ketchup. If you’re adventurous try out the Bibem Bop with rice and topped with an egg. You can substitute lettuce for the rice if you are watching carbs. Great owner & staff.

Amazing food. It’s always worth a visit. The sesame fries have become a craving. The atmosphere is like an old mom and pop restuarant. Friendly and welcoming but not a date night spot.

Stopped in for lunch and decided on the taco combo. Service was quick and friendly enough. The food was good, but not excellent and felt like they could do some simple things to make the tacos better with a few more toppings. The beef bul gogi was just cooked beef, some Korean bbq sauce and romaine lettuce. The shrimp was fried with a little sauce and lettuce. Fries were well seasoned and hot and their house ketchup was good. Atmosphere was a bit weathered I’d say but similar to many old school Asian spots. Overall I would come back but I’d definitely order the burrito or some other item as the tacos were underwhelming.

A must visit. We moved away from Atlanta years ago and every time we come back this is a place we go out of our way to eat. The fries are incredible.

Hole in the wall atmosphere and simply delicious food. Can’t stress enough how delicious the buffalo chicken tacos are even though it sounds a little pedestrian. They are amazing but only available on Tuesday and Thursday. All the specials honestly are killer.

The most disturbing part of our visit to Hankook were the health code violations. Most concerning was seeing one of the cashiers, without gloves, empty a trash can, not wash her hands, and then proceed to handle food and preparation surfaces. Additionally, the health score was not publicly visible, which raises concerns about the restaurant staff potentially cutting corners and hiding their results. I will be reaching out to the DPH, as I have not encountered such flagrant health violations before. While they seem to be aiming for a grungy, diner/dive vibe, it comes off as gross rather than charming.

I had the fried chicken bimbipbap, and the sweet potato "fries". Only one fellow spoke to us while in the restaurant. The food was great and for it being a hole in the wall it was surprisingly busy. After eating I can understand why~ I'll be back next time in the area

Horrible experience from food to service. The cashier was upset about modifying an order due to an allergy and included the food I was allergic to anyway. I spoke with the manager the next day and she apologized and that’s it. She didn’t offer to remake the and no refund. I ended up throwing the food away and will never patronize this place again!

Consistency is penultimate for me, and Hankook is consistent in their delivery of food, service, and atmosphere. The food is always tasty, and the fries are a special treat! I really enjoy going to taste the taco of the week! My "wish they had this as a forever taco" were the fried green tomatoe one and the fried portobello mushroom one! The service is fast and timely, while the atmosphere is always pleasant.

Restaurant needs a refresh bad!

Be prepared for the 🥵 HEAT! I opted for the lesser than atomic dishes and had the Portobello Fried soft shell. SUPER!

Very good Korean/Mexican fusion food. Everything has its flavor. Fries aren't just fries, they have distinct sesame/kimchi flavor. Ko-Kuma is outstanding, especially with sweet chili aioli.

Needs a good washing but wow the food is amazing! Bibimbop is fun and delish

I've been going here for years. It's quick to order, at counter, and get your food prepared. Fish tacos are the best around and there are usually a couple of entries of the day, what the chef feels like. It's a bit rustic but suitable enough

I have been coming here for years and absolutely love this place! Limited parking but there’s a parking lot. I love the different specialty tacos and of course the fries are the best! You can’t go wrong with any of their tacos seriously… my favs are buffalo chicken, beef bulgogi, fish taco, sweet chili chicken, pork, and the crispy pork with pear & apple slaw(in no particular order).To die for!!

Saw this on triple D which means it has the guy fieri stamp of approval. We were nearby so we checked it out. It was not as busy as I thought it would be and that was great. It was lunchtime too. We got tacos and fries and the kid got hot chicken fried rice. They were all delish. They use their own spices and the seasoning on the fries and ketchup. They both had a lil spice and sweetness to them. Made it taste a little bit better cos that heat sweet contrast. The place is small inside. A few booths and tables, and parking is a lil tricky but we got lucky and found a spot in front. If we r nearby again we'll try again.

Ordered the special fish sandwich and it was not that great. Two thick thick pieces of cod and fish was over cooked and chewy.

Everything is so delicious, and they are generous with the portions. I love getting the taco and burrito combos with the fries, which are so fresh and crispy! They are also quick with preparing your food.

This place appeared on Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives, and (unlike many of their featured restaurants) it really is a dive. It's cluttered and the tables and chairs are very low rent. There are paper signs on the door warning you to not leave valuables in your car. BUT: the food is good, and not something you can get just anywhere. I love a Mexican-Korean fusion (two of my favorite cuisines) so I was predisposed to like this place. My standards here are very high due to Pig Latin in Colorado Springs (another DDD place) and Hanook is not quite on that level. But that's not to say it wasn't good. Really my only complaint was the abundance of cilantro -- not a thing I love. So, if a Mexican-Korean fusion sounds appealing and you're looking for a place that is the polar opposite of fancy, give Hankook Taqueria a try.

This is my favorite place for Korean tacos and sesame fries. Nice little place. No frills but one of the best places for food. Also just tried their kimchi bulgogi fries and it was not a disappointment! It definitely fills you up. 2024 update: food and service is still amazing! The atmosphere is cozy, nothing special. Only complaint is parking but it's doable and has nothing to do with the business itself.

Honestly, EWW. I have no idea why they have such good reviews!! The place is dingy, gross and needs updating. The service was absolutely horrible, the kitchen staff were so rude. The cashier was friendly but I feel like she is pressured. The food was absolutely garbage, microwaved food. It had no flavor, and my gyro tasted like canned meat. 🤢🤢 Do not recommend at all.

This place served my family and I some of the best food we have ever had. The wife and kid had beef bowls and I had a shrimp taco and a pork taco with fries. We also had a loaded beef nacho. I gotta say all the food was great, but the fries were outstanding. They are dusted with a sugar and hot spice mix that is amazing. They would not fill me in on the ingredients of the dry rub, but I don’t blame them. This place is a hole in the wall, but don’t let the location or building fool you. It is an amazing experience so give them a shot.

Nice taco place. All tacos are $4. I really enjoyed the shrimp taco, the pork not so much since it was salty. Fish taco had a good chunk of fish. Guy Fieri went here on diners drive ins and dives so we wanted to check it out. Wish they renovated/cleaned up the inside more than it currently looks. Also not as big a fan of the fries as others are, seems they’re on the sweet coating side

Hankook is an institution. If it's good enough for The Iron Sheik and Guy Fieri, it's good enough for me. I usually get the shrimp burrito combo, and if it's buffalo chicken taco day I'll get one of those two. They've never missed.

They have the best fries here!! They have a unique seasoning and are served with a dipping sauce that's just a tad spicy and so yum. I also really love their tacos, shrimp and pork are my favorite. Any day I get to swing by is a cause for celebration 😄

This used to be one of my favorite restaurants to eat at when I visit my daughter. My daughter who lives in Atlanta had been eating there for 15 years. She loved the food so much she even had it served for her wedding meal. She warned me that the fries quality wasn’t as good but I asked to go anyways. The fries aren’t the only changed, the beef was tasteless and chunks of meat not the flavorful shredded beef it used to be, the taco chips were hard and the cheese was watery and made chips it was on soggy.. For a $37 dollar lunch for 2 about 2/3 of it just went into the trash.. wish they would have served less food or raised the price to keep the quality. Sorry o won’t be going back.

Don't let appearances deceive you. Hankook Taqueria is a little rough around the edges, if 'rough' means a veritable shack in the middle of nowhere. There's not much to say or admire about the ambiance except to warn you to expect some grunge. But for all that, it's easy to see why they receive so much love from local diners when this little hole-in-the-wall serves up some solid Korean-Mexican fusion fare with very reasonable prices. Every taco, regardless of the chosen protein, was a measly $4, which made it easy for us to order to our heart's content. The husband and I were enormous fans of the fried proteins - the shrimp, calamari, and chicken - because they weren't only well-seasoned, but also a little hotter in temperature. The tofu didn't seem to receive as much love in the seasoning department, but I appreciated its presence on the menu for all the non-meat eaters out there. What surprised us most were the sesame fries, which can be ordered both as a side, or as a combo with two tacos (for ten dollars). I appreciated the barely-there whisper of sesame oil (because I've seen other fusion places ruin their fried taters with too much of it), and there's a light sprinkling of sugar. Yes, sugar. You'd think it'd be strange, but it added a little something special that set them apart from your average fry. And paired with their chipotle ketchup? Delicious. Service was efficient, with orders taken at the counter and having them delivered to our numbered placards within minutes. On a random Wednesday night, the tables were surprisingly full of hungry diners, and there was a steady line of takeout orders, which just speaks to how little the local populace cares about how this place looks. That said, the parking lot out front is a little small, so expect to get a little creative with carving out space for your car if there's a crowd inside.

The food here is amazing. My boyfriend and I stopped by today to grab a quick bite. We came in around 8:25 pm, we know that they close at 9:00pm which is why we did not decide to eat in the restaurant. When we walked in, we were not greeted. There was a server who rolled her eyes as we approached the counter. The same server decided to start sweeping while we were browsing the menu and swept our feet and then asked us to get out of the way. It felt like we were bothering them entering the building. When we ordered our food, the woman who took our order had an attitude the entire time. I honestly did not even want to continue to order but my boyfriend really wanted the food. Once we placed the order, we sat at a table to wait. The woman who was sweeping then decided to come to the table we were at the sweep under the table. I was just really confused why sweeping the floor was such a pressing thing that had to be done while we were in there. I worked in the service industry before so I can respect the time a place closes. This was just mere disrespect the entire time we were in there.

This place presents a unique blend between Korean and Mexican cuisines. I had a beef taco and a crispy chicken taco, and they were both very good. They also came with good French fries. The food was very reasonably priced. The setting is basically a small hole in the wall that hasn't been updated in a while.

We tried the kimchi fries and the crispy buffalo chicken tacos. The serving of fries is huge even for 2 people. The kimchi was a little over powering for us but not bad. The tacos were delicious. The aioli is so good. Recommend the tacos. The place is very small and modest but the people are so kind and friendly.

Perfect definition of a hole in the wall gem. Drove past it at first and when walking in it was like....nice....simple but to the point. Went with the burrito with Korean Pork and sesame fries. Delish.....will go back to try some of the other items.

I love this place. It is a fast-casual place, order at the counter and the atmosphere is very dive-y, hole in the wall kinda place. The menu is limited to 10-ish proteins you can get in Taco, burrito or bowl form. The dumplings are awesome! Please don't think the 5 stars means a 5 star experience. This place is not fine dining, it is not fancy. But the flavors are bold and exciting and I really enjoy the experience.

This is hands down my favorite restaurant. The sesame fries are a reason to go by themselves. But really, everything is amazing. I promise you I’d be there everyday if I could.

Hankook is a delightful hole in the wall stop, always filled with locals and friends. It’s not fussy and the food is great. I am a regular and I can’t see that ever changing! Every time I have friends visiting Atlanta, I take them here for the awesome sesame crispy fries and the Korean tacos.

Went to try this place after seeing so many good reviews but I was a little bit disappointed given the expectations I had from it. But, it was alright, more like mid. When I had the first bite of my taco it tasted really good and I was really happy. As soon as I tasted the other tacos with different proteins in them, they all tasted the same and then I became really bored of getting the same taste from all three different tacos. The reason behind that was the sauce they used in all three tacos were so intense that the taste of proteins were overshadowed. Even I used lime on the tacos, still the sauce had the most prominent flavor. The burrito also had the same sauce inside it. The kimchi fries were alright. The french fries itself was really crunchy and tasted really good. Too much sauce and mayonnaise made them a little bit soggy in portions of the plate. The sauce used in here was quite similar to the sauce in taco but the kimchi in here probably saved me from having the same taste from it alike the tacos. Overall the food was alright, the portions were huge and the price was reasonable. Not the best Korean/Mexican fusion I’ve had in Atlanta. Overall it was good and my desire to try it is satisfied. They should try to bring out different flavors from different items. I would definitely tell you to try it once and see if it goes with your taste.

Honestly, it was the worst visit I've had here. It's been a minute since my wife and I had been. The staff were great, but the food was uncustomarily bad. I had two of my usual calamari tacos and the calamari was like bone dry rubber bands. Not usually the case, so hopefully this was a one off experience.

You have to try the kimchi quesadillas!!!not to mention their fries!!!!
