Best seafood restaurant in Polk County! Every dish is packed with flavor, service is always great and the owner Dwayne is such a pleasure to talk to since he has an extensive knowledge of Seafood and pairings!

I usually have the twin tails and they are usually good. Last time I had a filet and it was good. Took half home and we had steak and eggs for breakfast the next morning. Had the brownie sundae for dessert, wonderful. Not overdone and served warm.

Had dinner there about two weeks ago. Big board of daily specials and lots of seafood choices. Parking lot can seem full but drive around back and there is a good amount of spaces. Intimate atmosphere and service. Will be back!

Found this while googling "best steak in Auburndale". More seafood than steak. Little bit of a wait, and food portions a tad bit small. Good, but not great.

5/13/2024 This restaurant just had a relatively bad fire and will be closed a while. I had stuffed shrimp last week, with their homemade crab imperial stuffing. It was excellent and a very good value as well.

This afternoon we chose to dine here and celebrate Mothers Day. What an Excellent choice! The food was delicious we all had grilled seafood which was plentiful and fresh. Brittany our server was a Pro! She spoke of herself as one during the ordering process and she followed through. She was Charming, kind and had personality…we Really Enjoyed Brittany. All service was spot on and efficient. I am grateful Brittany was on tonight and took such personal sweet care of us. Thanks Brittany!🌷

We came in a busy Friday night and only waited a few minutes. The food was excellent. We had the broiled shrimp and French onion soup. The service was fantastic. We highly enjoyed the experience.

Old times great seafood. It was our first time here and we enjoyed the soups and the seafood. We had the seafood crepe and fried haddock entrees.

A nice little restaurant right on the lake. The food was excellent. We had steak, shrimp, lobster, meatballs and fish tacos. Afterwards there was a very, very good key lime pie. Were there a second time. Again we ate very well, the staff is really friendly, on their toes and very helpful with the kids. Great view of the lake directly behind the restaurant.

Experience was good overall. Atmosphere is quaint and beautiful views, especially on patio. Fish order cooking style was incorrect at first, but waiter fixed it although he tried to talk out of it at first... bread crumbs vs spices look very different... host very welcoming though. Immediately sat and served. Once fish fixed it was very tasty! Would do again when visiting areas.

My family and I ate dinner on March 28th at Harry's. We all were disappointed in our meals. I ordered the award winning french onion soup which had no taste ,very few onions and a weak broth . The house salads were not much better. Moving on to the main courses, Harry's had 2 winners out of 4 meals. The worst meal was the filet in the surf n turf. It look bad, it tasted like shoe leather. The prices and service was overall good. Would we go back no !

Four us went for lunch. We had grouper special X 2. Crab was had a fishy taste an smell. Got immediate upset stomach. Should a sent it back or said something then. The atmosphere is great, menu extensive! Manager is going to send us a gift card so I will go back an try it next season! Gotta be something we love cause they take care of their customers

Love everything about Harry's. Excellent fish and escargot. Shrimp cocktail was also excellent. Love the lake views. We love casual places with good food and this place is perfect for us.

First time here, and we will sure be back! Excellent, FRESH seafood with fantastic service! You want fresh shrimp, fried in fresh oil that taste amazing? Then this is your next stop! Everything we ate here was delicious! Coleslaw on down. If you are in the area, I would consider it a mistake not to stop and eat here. Try the escargot!! I can't wait to be back in town to try something else here.

The lobster was very good , they have the best key lime pie it’s frozen and it’s tart and delicious. It was very noisy though an extremely busy night there too but it was very good

So let me start of saying I am very picky. I grew up just outside of NYC and I am spoiled food snob. We now live in Destin full time and came down to take my kids to Legoland. Found this place online. My wife ate here like 30 years ago with family. We came in for twin lobster Tuesday and are in town for a few days. There was about an hour wait and so glad we waited. The food was awesome. We had lobster and it was cooked to perfection. Everything we ate was fantastic!! I am coming back again tomorrow night !! Even our waitress was amazing - thanks Britney! Owner was attentive and hard-working. My kid said it was the best burger he ever had!

Older restaurant , friendly staff, food not the best. Small portions kind of bland tasting. I was expecting so much more for the price. Wouldn't go back again. All four of us felt ill after eating there. Maybe a coincidence not sure.

Fish filet and shrimp was excellent. Service was wonderful and friendly.

This is a little mom and pop restaurant with great food. The onion loaf on the menu is what grabbed my attention at first and then we both had the shrimp and mussel boil. Both were excellent and we were too stuffed for dessert. Try the kiwi and lime cocktail, it was delicious.

Harry's Old Place is the place to go. Appetizers, drinks, dinner and dessert were awesome. Great menu and can't wait to go back and try something else. Save room for the key lime and peanut butter pies!

Great place that specializes in fresh fish, cooked any way you want it! Tonight I had the Grouper, blackened with their Heavenly topping. My wife had grilled salmon with the Raspberry Chipotle Sauce topped with blue cheese and walnuts! A friend said the broiled scallops were great as well. Their menu also contains many other dishes including seafood, chicken and steak.

Long wait always but worth it. Seafood is always fresh and the service is very professional and friendly. Sorry they don't give birthday dinners anymore.

This is a lovely,locally owned restaurant. Huge variety of seafood. Servers are excellent. There was a slight mistake with our order, and they immediately fixed it. (Before we even knew)

Sadly disappointed. Stopped with friends after a trip to Bok Tower; service was poor, never a second refill for drinks or offer of water. Stuffed shrimp was cold and still had poop channel—yuck! Fish too heavily breaded. Prices high for underwhelming meal!

Visiting from MN. Enjoyed the alligator bites, lobster special, swordfish, shrimp tacos and fish and chips. Everything was fantastic. The shrimp tacos were absolutely and some of the best we have ever had. Finished up our evening with a piece of key lime pie. The pie was delicious and so refreshing.

Service excellent. Awesome seafood chowder! Mussels were cooked well but the dish could use a little more flavor, by maybe adding shallots, garlic or tomatoes. T he shrimp boil delicious but always a turn off when the shrimp are pick and peel and not divided. Twin lobster tails - the seafood stuffing was ok. One of the tails a little underdone but overall flavors were pretty good.

Wonderful southern, Florida charm. Great seafood. Drinks are made to perfection. Fun party, lake front vibe.

We came to celebrate Valentines Day and we were not disappointed!!! Great service and excellent shrimp and lobster boil. 🦞 Very generous portions. Hot rolls. Highly recommend!!!

First visit. Had the special tequila lime dolphin (mahi mahi). Entrée was amazing. Sides were adequate. Our server was very knowledgeable & efficient. I did not try The deserts & appetizers but was told by the others in the party they were very good. Will be going back.

Second and last time I will go there. Crab and shrimp boil a major dissapointment. Served just one small cluster of snow crabs.. tasted fishy.. way to many shrimp not cleaned and over boiled. Chowder soup was cold. A big disappointment . Also ordered a lobster tail at an additional cost it was over broiled and rubbery. Sad sad sad

Hadn't been here in many years, but wanted to remember how good it was. No disappointment here! The Harry in a Bag was exceptional. Escargot, Fr. onion soup and grits all shined.

Not much for atmosphere but the food and service is incredible. The fish ( haddock and corvina) were excellently prepared. Lightly breaded/seasoned and cooked to perfection, fried shrimp were light and fresh with cocktail sauce with a perfect balance with horseradish. Then a wonderful end with homemade key lime pie…..YUM!

The food is good. It's really only fish. Try the key lime pie (its made in house)

Just moved to the area and mostly the food has been hit or miss but this place made an amazing first impression. The food was incredible, best salmon I've ever had, the service was warm and friendly(thanks Brittany!), and the entire place feels warm and inviting. Can't wait to go back and try the fish and chips.

Wait on a Friday night was an hour, $6.50 for a gin & tonic that was mediocre, friendly servers, delicious fish & chips - we took home leftovers. Outstanding dill tartar sauce and waiters bring bread & salad ahead of your entree. If you want coleslaw with your dinner, tell them when you order. Water & iced tea served in a one quart wide mouth mason jar!

Went to Harry's on a whim to have diner in the area with family and wanted lakefront dining. Very impressed with every aspect of the experience. Food choices were great. We came for fish but had 1 in our party that doesn't like fish. She had a steak and raved about it. The choices for fish blew me away. I have never seen that many fish entries available at 1 time. Food was phenomenal, from the appetizers to the to the main course. Our waitress was knowledgeable and super attentive. The whole experience was great.

My husband and I ordered the fried combo plate. Asked if they could leave off the clam "strips " and hush puppies as we are from New England and are more used to real clams with the bellies. The waitress said of course, no problem. We received a plate with a very small piece of fish , 2 small scallops, 3 fried oysters and 2 very large hush puppies, the rest was shrimp....all over cooked. When the waitress returned I showed her what the plate consisted of. We waited and finally received 4 more of scallops just in time to place in a to go box, as dinner was over. This place is so over rated!!!!

The catfish was very good....it just took them a long time to bring it...so worth trying....2 small seating areas.. nice view of lake...

Highly recommend this quality restaurant!!!! First time visit last night after researching reviews online for my birthday dinner so expectations were high! We even drove 1 hour to get there! WORTH THE DRIVE!!! Expectations were met and exceeded!! Fish n chips was excellent - great taste and didn't need a knife to cut through hard battered over-fried fish like many other places I've tried. This fish was tender and lightly coated with great flavor! The COLE SLAW was the BEST I've had since my mother's!!! Everything is homemade and the best quality fresh food! Staff and service was just as excellent!! Everyone was kind and welcoming and it felt like a happy family atmosphere!! Ask for Suzanne!! She was our Server and she was awesome!! Will definitely be back again!! THANK YOU!!!

Quaint restaurant, I had a window seat looking at the lake. Fast service, food prepared perfectly. I had the steak and shrimp with two sides, new potatoes and side salad with ranch dressing that tasted homemade (very good). Prices are a little pricier than I expected, but after tasting the food, I can see why. Complements to the chef. I highly recommend trying this restaurant, $$

We have been going to Harry's for 20+ years. And I don't know if they have new cooks but the meal we had last night was NOT good. Two in our party had the catfish and they did not like it at all. New coating??? I had the seafood platter and the same thing. The coating, batter was not good. The food and service was disappointing 😞

We were at Legoland for 3 days and ended up here for dinner twice. Tuesday’s twin lobster tail and Thursdays surf and turf specials were great! Our kids were excited their meals came with ice cream. Suzanne is one of the best waitresses we’ve had in a long time!

Great time with 7 friends. Good food and just enough of it. Waitress was young but as ole people we teased her and she started to get our humor. Will be going back in January.

Service was great! However, the food is not even close to what it use to be. We will not be returning. SAD - it use to be an outstanding place to go.

Gator bites where as hard as a rock. If I tried to feed them back to the alligator they would spit them out.

Went for lunch. Hubby had fried grouper fingers and I had fish n Chios. Fried fish was cod. Best slaw ever. Homemade peanut butter pie. Delicious. All fish was fresh.

A cozy place with pretty views of the lake, and the waitress was pleasant and attentive. However, I'd need to be really encouraged to return because the food was just acceptable.

Attended a birthday party here, which was my first experience dining here. The wait staff was PERFECT and the food was heavenly. Those fried oysters were the best I've ever had and are now my #1 "if I'm ever on death row" meal. Queue applause and confetti and see you next time we're in town.

We happened to be in Winter Haven, Florida for a wedding and arrived the evening before the event. We decided to give Harry's Old Place a try and it did not disappoint. The flounder was buttery and the shrimp was plentiful. Love coleslaw-their's is fresh, made in house. If you end up in Winter Haven make sure to stop in at Harry's Old Place for a delicious meal.

The food is fantastic with some of the freshest Dolphin (aka Mahi-Mahi) since I was last in Hawaii. Both our meals were perfectly prepared and delicious. Our server kept disappearing on us to the point people seated (different server) after us ordered before us. The decor is old fish house in appearance,but was very clean. We'd go back again.
