I'm always leary of "German" restaurants as so many say they are, and their food just isn't. Well, Haus Heidelberg is as authentic as you can get! Their Haus Sampler shows off their best dishes: Roulade, Jägerschnitzel, Ziguenerschnitzel, Sauerbraten, Red Cabbage, Wine Kraut, and Fried Potatoes. The Haus salad with their homemade dressing is very tasty. Can't wait to return!

A friend told us about an amazing German restaurant 2 1/2 hours away in Hendersonville NC. That means roadtrip and it was well worth it! Haus Heidelberg German Restaurant has absolutely the best German food I’ve had since Munich! We split the sampler for two and brought half home! The dessert menu looked delicious, but we ate too much of everything else. The portions were very generous for a very reasonable price. We will definitely go back!

The were super busy (it is apple picking time) but so nice and helpful. And the food was top tier! Highly recommend. Some of the best authentic German food we have had!

I recently visited this quaint, little restaurant during my birthday vacation in Brevard, N.C. I traveled thirty minutes away from my hotel to experience a taste of Nostalgia! I was excited to drive up and see the German signage and even more stuff inside like figurines, photos and cuckoo clocks that reminded me of my childhood in Germany. My waitress, Morgan, was fabulous! She patiently explained the menu options as I had difficulty deciding on what to order. I ended up going with my favorite which is the Weiner schnitzel! My meal was hot and delicious with a large enough serving to take a some leftovers back to the hotel. If I return to Brevard, I will definitely visit again and try other German cuisine!

The German food is so good, and would recommend this place to anyone local or new to the area

If you are looking for authentic German food and dining, Haus Heidelberg is the place. When I served in the military in Germany, my wife and I would enjoy dining out there. Haus Heidelberg food tastes exactly the same! Great atmosphere, great service, so, go and enjoy! (Our daughter was born in Heidelberg, Germany, so Haus Heidelberg is extra special to us!)

Food is always served hot and fresh, great portions. Service is efficient and pleasant. I am just over 5 feet tall and jokingly asked for a booster seat. The server chuckled and said, "Let's see what I can do..." Less than 2 minutes later, I had my booster! (Two chair pillows...PERFECT)

As someone who knows very little about German Cuisine I really enjoyed it!! I got the Heidelberg House Sampler and it was great to taste and try a bunch of different things

The sandwich I had was not outstanding however the gypsy pancakes I had were to die for. This place is very dark very little natural lighting not very sanitary, but it’s not very gross. when I went in, we were the only people in the entire restaurant. The waiter who was serving me was not German. Gift shop is cool. If you’re looking for expensive German food this is the right place . Very very expensive here. But if I could eat those gypsy pancakes again, I would. definitely worth the trip to see.

Overall good experience, we ordered quick sandwiches and kids items for the boys. Dinner items seemed heavy and slightly expensive. German hotdog was great. Hot potato salad was very heavy on mustard flavor. Interior and exterior is dated but overall neat and homey. Sandwiches were tasty and meat/schnitzel was flavorful. Would I stop by every time I passed through?, no, but worth a stop if driving through like we did to experience something new.

The atmosphere and the food were absolutely fantastic!! We will definitely come back on our next trip!! I highly recommend!!!

Close your eyes and you are in Germany. The food is incredible

Amazing food! Charles was our server and killed it, they were short staffed and I was there with 7 people ( 3 kids ) and coming from a restaurant background this place rocks!!! Definitely will be back!

Everything was good just not outstanding. The sauce made a lot of the breading quite soggy. Some of the seasoning seemed off. There is a lot of sugar coming through with the cabbage. Portions are huge so know you’ll have leftovers. I think I prefer guidon for German food. It was overall good though.

The food is authentic, but the service from our waiter was lacking in courtesy. I felt rushed and hurried the moment I was trying to decide what to order. A little patience would have been greatly appreciated. PS: We went back again this past weekend after seeing Cabaret - awesome show by the way. The food was just as good but this time Charles was our waiter and he could not be more polite, attentive and patient answereing all my questions about our meal. Whenever we are in Flat rock this will definitely be our go to restaurant of choice.

Service was great, even though the place was packed and our server was extremely busy. Food wasn't as good as we have experienced here in the past. Schnitzel was dry and hard, with little flavor. Love the authentic German atmosphere.

Big blonde, big mouth waitress cheated me out of 100.00. Tried to say I hadn’t paid when I had a witness I did. She Showed me camera but didn’t go back far enough.if u go there be careful. Food good, service a big scam! I have edited this review to respond to the owners comment. The money was NOT in my car, you obviously did not believe me. This is very poor management, the owner’s reply is nothing short of poor customer service. (Per the fact not even an “I’m sorry for your bad experience” was given in response to my first post) I will not take the review down until I receive an apology and the truth with someone taking accountability for their actions. My intentions were not to slander the business, but to make everyone aware of the general mangers way of handling things.

The menu says, “ If you’re looking for an authentic restaurant as well as authentic Germans , you’ve come to the right place. Guten Appetit.” And they are so right. If I lived there, I would be eating at Haus Heidelberg once a week. The food was amazing. The salad alone was delightful. The Wiener Schnitzel was wonderful too. My friend had a great sandwich. And of course, the generous portion of German Potato Salad was oh so good! Don’t miss the store adjacent to the restaurant. I sure didn’t. I purchased some superb mustards, pickles and jam. Definitely worth visiting!!

The ribeye with potatoes was outstanding. Wife said her Ruben was the best she ever had. And she's had quite a few during our adventures. Staff was friendly. Ate outside which was nice but you'll have a better experience inside due to the Germanic atmosphere. Had two appetizers, two dinners, two deserts, wine and a few beers. Little over $100 but well worth it. Will definitely eat here again

What a fun little restaurant! The food, service, and atmosphere are all top-notch (not fancy, but welcoming and memorable). It can be a bit busy around prime time, so we usually go a little later.

The food seemed a more ample than our last visit (>6 months ago). And the desserts were over-the-top!

Sauerbraten was tender, but way TOO dry to eat without water to wash it down. The red cabbage was so thick and sticky that it seemed to have excess corn starch or flour in it. The other sides were non-descript, which were german potato salad and dumpling. Very disappointing after paying $68.00. Drive by, do not stop by.

We drive over 2 hours to eat here every few months or so. Never been disappointed with our service or food. Only wish they were closer to us (we'd be there more often...😁)

German cuisine to eliminate homesickness

Me and my family ate there lastnight and it was very authentic German food! The food was incredibly good! My mother was German and this was the 1st time eating German food since my Mom passed in 2006. It was on par with hers and that's a VERY good compliment. I highly suggest eating here if you want authentic German food. Thank you to the nice lady, sorry I'm terrible with names, that gave us dessert and to the "Strudel Guy" that made the very delicious Strudel. My Mother would have loved this place!

Best German food that I had in the states ever. I lived here for 30 years and this is by far the most authentic food.

We were looking for something a little different for lunch while in Hendersonville and happened upon this place. Since I love German food, we tried this place and were not disappointed.

Since they've brought in new people and recovered from the lock-downs, it's back to what it was years ago... amazing. Fantastic food, attentive service. Your biggest problem is finding a table. You used to walk right in and sit down. Now? Make that reservation.

Came with a couple friends on a Saturday night. We were seated within 10 minutes, service was prompt, and everything on the menu looked delicious. When the food came after just 12 minutes, it was even better than expected. The free rolls with a meal were nice, too. The atmosphere was a celebration of all things German, including a cuckoo clock! Charming, comfy, and tasty, a fine compliment a good time with friends. It was a little pricey, but it's food you can't get just anywhere else. Only downside was, when we were getting ready to go, somebody started smoking right outside the main door, and you could smell it inside the restaurant. Still have a great time!

Food is not authentic. Potatoes were lukewarm and the waitress was extremely rude. I will certainly not go back and advise anybody to stay away. There are much nicer restaurants in the area

The potato salad and red cabbage and dumpling were excellent, but my own cooked sauerbraten and gravy are better. Also, 2-3 dumplings would have been nice. You only get 1.

Lived here for 18 years and today was the first time I tried it! Everything was delicious and service was great! Will definitely be back after i digest this food soon lol

Well to admit. I have been living here for 5 years, and have wanted to try it as long. Well last night.....I placed my order and Ohhhhh My......What a great meal. We ordered the The best Rueben sandwiches, I have ever had. And the German Potato Salad, mmm mmm DELICIOUS. They have a great lil Deli attached with the most amazing chocolates for dessert....so Happy they Beat the System and were aloud to keep running. They are a Hendersonville Staple...A must try!!

We ate dinner there tonight. The food, service and atmosphere was very good! We were asked to leave early, although we had reservations and another group was there.so that a group could come in! Poor customer service! We will not be going back there!!!!!

We drove up from Spartanburg, SC to meet my cousin for lunch. He is a local and raved about this place. We arrived at 11 when the restaurant opened and were seated immediately. Upon learning it was our first visit to HH, our wonderful server Morgan pointed out some popular dishes. She was friendly, helpful, efficient, and definitely added to our enjoyment of the meal. The food was delicious. The house salad is unlike anything we've ever tasted. So yummy! Our meals were cooked to perfection. We will definitely return!

Sad to say it did not live up to the hype in any way. The food was underwhelming. Schnitzel was soggy within minutes, the spaetzle was flavorless, although decent once it soaked up some of the sauce in the Togo box. They kept it freezing in there, don't forget your jacket. Some of the decor was pretty neat but unfortunately that was the highlight of the visit.

We ordered take out - drove 20 min away to realize they “forgot” to enclose the sauce for EVERY dish! Seriously? I felt quite “blown off” when I called - “these things happen”???? I don’t think so at good restaurants… OR do NOT offer take out!!! Think twice before ordering take out at this place!!! Ruined our evening

This place was absolutely worth the hype. The sampler platter was a great deal. So much food! Had a lot leftover. Most reasonably priced German restaurant I have ever been to. Service was fantastic. Atmosphere was great! So many fun things from Germany on the walls. I will definitely make the 45 minute drive again. We'll worth it on all accounts!

Authentic German food...not a fake! The atmosphere is awesome and service is on point.

This is authentic German cuisine. The food is wonderful, but the most interesting detail of the place are the valid license plates displayed on the booths and walls. Since EU plates remain permanently with the car, each of these plates represents an imported German vehicle. No one could fake that authenticity.

Don't get to come here much but I love it the food is great and service is top notch!

Had a wonderful meal at Haus Heidelberg German Restaurant after walking 4 miles on the Oklawaha Greenway today. I got soup and sandwich with red cabbage and potato salad and for desert peaches and icecream. Yummo!! The best lentil soup I have ever had. I would go back and just have this soup. It was packed with flavor but had this wonderful sweetness. Ruben was on point. The red cabbage was sweet like a jam and I wish i had saved the rolls to put some on them. Last the potato salad, hot German potato salad is one of those things that I love. This one was perfect. Everyone needs to go and try this restaurant. This was my second time going and will not be my last.

Our ladies' group of 12 had lunch there today. Had a wide variety of food items, and every single person loved their food. The soup of the month is sauerkraut, which sounds strange, but it was terrific. One person ordered the sampler platter, and it was wonderful, with enough left over for at least one meal. Desserts were also great, with the winner being the black forest cake. The waitress was excellent and handled a large group with ease. And most of the group stopped at the little deli shop in the front and came away with more goodies for home. Highly recommend!

The server asked my wife if we had reservations, to which my wife replied: "She did, but she brought me along anyway"! I have to admit, the food was better than my dinner company! 😆 Great accompanying deli with the restaurant!

My wife and I went for a ride to get out of town, such a pleasant day, we ran down into Hendersonville, N.C. and remembered hearing of Haus Heidelberg, so we looked it up on maps and went. It is a nice little place, the atmosphere inside is inviting, and we were promptly seated even though we had no reservation. It was our first time there and decided to get the sampler for 2, It came with 4 different meat selections, 4 side dishes, soup or salad, rolls . They offer a good list of brewed drinks, along with soda, tea . First bite I took was of the red cabbage , instantly I thought "YUM" Everything was good . Actually this selection was very filling and it was enough for three to enjoy . Haus Heidelberg, is now on our list of places to return to, we reside in Eastern Tennessee, and the drive is worth it . . P S. The staff is pleasant as well, Thank You for a memorable part of our day . My wife said the food reminded her of being stationed in Germany .

I love this place and have for years. The atmosphere is perfect, American songs, sung by German artists, videos of German architecture and landscape, and all of the German advertising gives the feeling of authenticity. Not only can you order food and dine in, you can also stop in their Deli and pick up sausages of all different types as well as mustards and many other German sundries.

I dined here on March 27th. ordered the Jagersnitzel/roasted potatoes. Outstanding food/customer service. The interior looked great, from recent remodeling. Looking forward to returning. (OUTSTANDING Jagersnitzel)

We finally made it here after reading all the great reviews about this place. It’s indeed an oldie but goodie. Service was friendly and prompt. No reservations needed even on a Fri night which was great for us when we find ourselves in the area. Beer, bread, sausage sampler appetizer, jagermeister schnitzel were all great. Goulash soup was a bit strong on spices but we ate it all nonetheless.

Came in on a Saturday afternoon and over heard a guy saying the food was “mediocre” (he also had an empty plate btw) AND HE COULDNT HAVE BEEN MORE WRONG!!! Had the sünner kolsche and the Jägerschnitzel and it was killer. If I could give it 10 stars I would!! Great German atmosphere and even better food and beer, couldn’t recommend more!

Had a wonderful dinner on the patio with my wife and our dog. I had the Jägerschnitzel with Spätzel which was very good. My wife had the Haus Heidelburger, which is a grilled meatloaf patty, and a side of hot potato salad. Both were wonderful.

We dined here last weekend and had the sampler platter for 2..it's more than enough food for 2 people and was very good

We ordered the sample platter, came with 4 different meats and spatzle. You get a choice of soup/salads (husband got the tomato and said it was the best he ever had, I got the salad, not your usual house salad and the dressing was very good) also came with red cabbage, german suarkraut and german potato salad. We took half of this meal home. Everyone was friendly and the service spot on.

Every time we go south we have to stop. The food is excellent and the service is great too.

Haus Heidelberg used to be great, the food is still great HOWEVER these two ladies who run around, especially the blonde lady was rude and aggressive with most people she was dealing with. I couldn’t hear anything because she talked so loud. Laughing at customers who didn’t understand her yapping and rolling eyes when they are sitting in front of her. We asked for dessert and wondering if it was possible to get a whole apple strudel, immediately she was yelling NO WE CANNOT DO THAT WE NEED 24 HOURS like she was freaking out and bossy about it. We ended up getting 4 pieces of apple strudel, she slams the bag down. We go home to share it with friends and it’s raw. not even cooked. Didn’t even tell us. She didn’t package the ice cream or anything! So unprofessional.

We love this restaurant and have been going for years. Got there early around 400pm on Saturday and did get seated but it looks like they had many reservations for that evening. The food and service are great! The atmosphere is just cozy, it's small but very cozy! If you want authentic German food, this is the place in Hendersonville.

Great place. If you like German food you will love this place. Everything is amazing. Known for schnitzel, but even the deserts are wonderful and authentic. Great prices and attentive staff. Looked like they could use another server or two but the ones there were amazing.

The schnitzel was amazing, and the knockwurst was as well. Highly recommended.
