The food is really good. But the dish sizes leave a lot to be desired. The seafood paella was an ok size, but the Pollo was small and I left hungry, and I don't expect that when paying 37$ for a chicken dish. That would really be my only actual critique. The waiter was friendly and service was fine.

Gianna our server was great and explained all the vegetarian options to me! We didn’t find the food up to par with the prices though (pork and cauliflower dishes) - except the spring rolls which were fantastic!

Ever so busy, reservations are a must. Hostess must have been new. We needed to change our table as we were being seated too close to live music-just was not part of having dinner with a partner to even have a conversation. She frowned when we asked for another table and left us standing on the restaurant floor. That was very uncomfortable. We took the 2 seater table nearby and some what out of the way of the loud live jazz duo. The service and food made up for the hiccup. Plates are plentiful, and ordering apps and mains were too much. The people did not stop coming in for good reason..

This was a really great experience - inside is a very well put together high-end food and dining experience. We ate there last year but ate outside at Parrilla this time. The cocktails are phenomenal, the choices for Tapas were amazing. Service was Superior and we had a wonderful experience. Thank you!

Lovely place, great service, and the food is impeccable! My husband describes the paella he had as "Ecstasy" and "fantastic". The lobster dish I had was also incredible. Don't skip the salads or desserts- the raspberry dessert is still on our minds a month later! I usually think expensive places aren't worth the price but this place is!!!

Disappointing ribeye was animal cruelty. Paella is overrated. Cocktails are good.

Absolutely loved our meal here. Such a gem. We had a hard time choosing what to eat as everything sounded incredible. We chose various starters and shared the moqueca and paella and it was all fantastic. Wine menu is also not to be missed. Many wine options we haven’t seen available in other well known places in big cities. Staff are all congenial and lovers of food. Overall wonderful atmosphere, food and people. Worth every penny.

Havana is one of the best restaurants in Bar Harbor. The food was excellent.

When I visited Havana, it was for a special occasion. We had had some subpar meals in the area over the past day, rather surprisingly for the average prices around the Bar Harbor area. In Havana, we got one of the best meals in Bar Harbor, with perfect service. We got two Tourmaline Red beers (I believe that’s what they were) which were incredible, along with the Pollo, and the Paella. Our appetizers were the Polpo and the Oysters, all of which I would entirely recommend. To start was blueberry cornbread, as well as candied walnuts on blueberry goat cheese spread—both were on the house, and fantastic. I hope you are blessed with Harly’s presence (like the motorcycle) as your host. He is an absolute gem, Havana is an absolute gem. Salamat po Harly!

We visited both Havana and Parrilla during our recent visit to Bar Harbor and the food was so amazing, we ended up coming here a total of four times. The staff was extremely friendly, dishes came out quickly, and food and drinks were delicious. We especially enjoyed the Garlic Butter Shrimp and Summer Salad from the Parrilla. The Summer Salad was one of the best salads I've ever had, and so good that my mom and I pretty much exclusively ordered this dish every time we visited.

We came here for a celebration. The service was impeccable and we were assigned a nice table by the window. Our ranking of the dishes ordered are as follow: (1) spring roll - it was highly recommended but the taste fell flat. The noodles to mushroom ratio in the spring roll is off, making it taste more having crunchy spring roll with tasteless egg noodles. F (2) burrata salad. B+ (3) pork belly was very good. A- (4) seafood paella was delicious A-

From start to finish, the service and quality at Havana were excellent. The servers were so attentive and gave fabulous recommendations. The wine list is extensive but I would recommend trying one of their Spanish wines. My scallops were perfectly cooked, and my husband loved the flavor of his ribeye. The raspberry opera cake was a great way to finish. Overall outstanding experience! Thank you, Havana!

Excellent experience. I enjoyed every bite of such fine dishes. The service and atmosphere make it perfect. It is pricey, but it worth every penny.

Highly recommend this place. The food, the service and the ambiance is wonderful. We had tatami tuna, gambas and oysters for appetizers. They were fresh and delicious! I would recommend their paella, fregola and the crusted sea bass for dinner! You will not be disappointed! Be sure to make reservations days before you plan on visiting Bar Harbor because they get booked very fast!

What a wonderful dining experience!! My husband and I came here for a dinner on our honeymoon per the recommendation of our bike guide, Merrell. WOW! Note: best to make a reservation, we did not, but had a sweet table near the window and the bar which put us right by the jazz duet. What a TREAT!! It was so romantic listening to them play over scallops and mussels. The wine selection is fabulous and truly curated to match the flavors of the food so well. We loved the egg rolls as a fun take on tapas. The real star was the curry! It was such a fun combo of flavors and a nice break from the copious amounts of lobster rolls we had been eating on the trip. We were truly charmed by our dinner out and you made our honeymoon in Bar Harbor so special! Thank you

Ordered the moqueca and it may have been the single worst dish a restaurant has ever put in front of me. First off, cold. The entire dish was cold. Secondly the rice was extremely overcooked and in the worst way possible. Complete mush. The rice was not overcooked like crispy and flavorful Concón, it was just total mush with no flavor. Terrible rice in a 50$ dish! Barely any lobster meat in the cold sauce. Worst of all completely unseasoned. No salt, no acid. Just coconut milk and lobster meat. Bland in a Latin restaurant! I am in shock. The waiter was nice enough to remove the dish from our bill. Service was fine. I'll never forget how terrible this dish was. I have second hand embarrassment.

The truth is that it is an experience that I would recommend to do once because the food is really delicious, but book before! As a good opinion I can say that it is a very elegant place, the waiters are very friendly and thoughtful but as a disadvantage is the delay of the food. We ordered everything from the beginning but waited over an hour for the main course. We spent 2 hours weighing that we would have time to walk around the businesses but we ended up too late. Finally we ordered prawns, sangria and as main courses paella and lobster and they gave us corn bread with blue berries exquisite.

Eloped in Acadia and came here for dinner afterward, someone playing guitar beautifully when you walk in. Service was great, we both got the pork entree and it was INCREDIBLE. Only complaint, which was small, is that it was a little warm in the restaurant. But still, a 5 star experience.

Best food we had on our trip to Maine. Excellent mussels, Lobster Moqueca, oysters, and shrimp. So rare to find shrimp cooked to melt in your mouth! Very lovely space and atmosphere as well.

An excellent meal. Dishes were bursting with flavor and well-plated. The wine menu although overwhelming offers something for everyone. The blueberry cornbread is a must.

Plenty Seafood in paella but the lobsters are not much there. Mussels are little small but it’s tasty.

Decent food, they sat our party in their expansion building behind the main restaurant. Kind of killed the atmosphere, especially when the propped the door open leading outside for air circulation and we had to listen to the compressor motor while trying to eat and socialize. I got up and closed the door because of the noise but the staff just propped it back open.

Food is excellent. However, the service is extremely slow and the food is even slower. Took 40 mins to get my main dish and my server was on another planet the whole time. Not sure if I’d return solely based on that.

The food and drink was ok, but not amazing. Service was excellent. Atmosphere was nice. Open later which is why we went, everything closes early in BH!

We ate at Havana twice during our recent trip. Our hotel was in walking distance ,and one of the reception desk folks recommended it. He was right. Everything about this quaint little spot is perfect for a lovely meal and a relaxing evening. We 3 had paella. It was cooked perfectly, right down to the crispy bottom being pulled up to the edges of the pan. It was so good, indeed, that we went a second evening and while tempted by everything on the menu, had the paella again. Our server He rogue deserves a special shootout for his charm and quiet perfection in serving our meal. The espresso is especially good and on one evening we were treated to a guitar seranade from the bar area.

It’s a must try! Heard it’s Martha Stewart’s favorite spot.. great wine selection. Enjoyed the tuna, spring rolls, and the burrata salad. Didn’t care much for the lobster dish. It wasn’t very warm or flavorful but I won’t hold that against the eating. Cool spot!

I hate giving bad reviews but I’m going to put two stars because our waiter was very nice. The food wasn’t very flavorful. We got the elote and the potatoes with saffron aioli. It honestly was just lacking in flavor and seasonings. The waiter did ask us how it was and apologized that it wasn’t very seasoned. Overall I felt that the service was good but the food was just very bland.

Made a reservation, but needed to cancel so i called the restaurant. Was told i would be charged $120 to cancel, so I offered to come in for drinks as we had a dinner obligation elsewhere. Was told, by the manager, “that won’t do what you think it will”. At this point, my hands are tied. The restaurant then canceled the reservation, and charged me. When I called to protest, was told they would speak to owner. Surprise surprise, no call back and no refund. To tell someone not to bother honoring reservation, even just for drinks, then to charge them is wrong. Eventually, this karma will catch up to you. Enjoy the quick cash.

Wonderful quaint upscale restaurant with great food

Spectacular food! Everything was perfectly prepared, perfectly seasoned, and we could not stop eating! The dining room was pretty enough, nothing exceptional, and the staff was lovely, but seemed like they could be a bit more organized. None of that took away from the culinary experience. Have I mentioned the food was delicious?

We have eaten at Havana twice in the past, and it never disappoints. We started with a martini and a glass of cava. Both were tasty and reasonably priced. We shared mussels which had sinful pork belly. What a way to die! You will die happy. My halibut was in a flavorful, not overly spicy curry, and my husband loved his paella. The waitress was friendly and funny. We definitely recommend.

We held a Special Event for 30 in the Spruce Room at Havana and couldn’t have been more pleased. Everything was top quality - the food, service, atmosphere. I can’t thank the staff enough for making a memorable evening for us. We had excellent variety on the 3-course menu and all were outstanding and came out promptly. It was much better quality and variety than the typical event dinner experience.

Meh. We did not have a great experience. Food was ok at best and very overpriced. Apps were not memorable. For entrees, the chicken was bland and the fondant potatoes with Dijon were inedible. Filet mignon was overcooked and flavorless. Ribeye was excellent. Lobster moqueca was also very good but it came out luke warm and had to send it back to get it heated. All in all, a lot of money for some very average food.

Excellent soups, salads and breads as well as cocktails and wines. Seafood paella was just right with scallops, shrimp, lobster, mussels and more, with spicy rice, vegetables, and sausage. Excellent preparation of the halibut. Vegetarian / vegan dishes were also carefully prepared and delicious. Sam is an outstanding server. Above and beyond! Thank you.

We came as part of our anniversary celebration in Bar Harbor. The food was excellent. They were busy and recovering from a town-wide power outage that lasted about a half hour just prior to our reservation, but they did a good job making sure folks had drinks and were doing okay. Can't recommend the cordero enough...best lamb chops I've had. My wife loved the pollo. They also made a special little dessert plate for our anniversary which was nice, and there was a card on the table when we sat down. Definitely would recommend, but be sure you have a reservation if you're coming in the busy season.

Had the best meal of 2024 (so far) this past weekend. A beautiful sirloin with a hollandaise and fondant potatoes, we also got the farm salad and a white chocolate raspberry dessert. The cocktails were also great and the flight of Maderia port wines we got complemented every bite so well. This was our second time here and will continue to be a once a year stop. Highly suggest!

My wife and I just had a fantastic meal. Our waiter ( Samuel ) was the most attentive waiter we’ve ever had. His suggestions, description of dishes and wine selection were bang on. His attention to details, as well as the rest of the staff was amazing. As for the food, we had the Pulpo as a starter, ( perfect) my wife had the Paella and I had the Halibut- all was perfect. Samuel’s suggestion of a double chocolate cake for desert was fantastic. And finally, we both had a tasty cup of coffee ( decaf cappuccino for my wife and Cuban for me )

Don't miss out on this TOP GEM. An institution in this community and let me tell you.... Start with the national drinks from Peru Pisco Sour and Brazil's little hunny a Capi. Then order up the empanadas, and the gambas, OMG! To die for but you'll want to live to eat more! And the Lobster Coconut Rice Dish........ Oh I was dreaming about it again... Forgive. You can't miss this place and experience.

Lobster moqueca was MOUTH WATERING. I will be dreaming about that dish. The pulpa app was also excellent!

Our first trip to Bar Harbor and we stumbled in For an early dinner. The first thing was the staff was very friendly and sat us at a great 2 top table at the front window. Great for people watching!! Jessica was our waitress and was super helpful and knowledgeable. You could tell she loved Havana. I had the house special cocktail and it was a great riff on a mojito martini. The wine list is amazing, I’ve never seen so many Pet-Nats and Orange wines on a list!! The wine list is quite worldly and diverse.. Jessica said that they change the food menu seasonally and had some items that were staple like the seafood paella. So I had to order that and it was classic and amazing!! My bride had the Pescado and it was delicious as well. We finished with the velvet chocolate cake, which we were so excited about I failed to take a picture of … sorry !!

Everything about this place screams quality and great service. I always manage expectations when confronted with familiar menu items, more so when they are from my childhood. This is no exception. Expect a great meal with quality ingredients, prepared with love and care. Don't expect a taste of Cuba. Though I suspect before the "fusion confusion" there were Cubans and a Spaniard or two in the kitchen. We loved it just the same.

Top ten dining experiences of all time. Inventive menu, superbly executed, amazing wine list, outstanding service, perfect casual/upscale atmosphere and soundtrack. A great reason to come to Bar Harbor if you didn't already have one.

Food was great, full of flavour, from the complementary dishes to everything else. My husband ordered the chicken and he loved it. I ordered the rib-eye : flavour was there and it was perfectly cooked, however the portion was minuscule, not only the meat portion but also the side: 1 broccoli floret cut in half and 2 slices of Yukon potatoes. For the price I think one should get a bigger portion. Hadn’t we ordered the appetisers, probably I would’ve been very unhappy.

This was our best dining experience near Acadia park, the food was delicious, the service was amazing and very quick, we had the seafood paella and the halibut which were both delicious. The dishes were not very big, we wished the quantity was more especially for a dinner after a long day of hiking and given the price, but nonetheless would definitely go there again.

Have been coming to Havana for a number of years. We were just visiting Bar Harbor recently and made sure we came back. We had a beautiful table which was directly in front of a glass window that looked into a beautifully lit wine room. Lovely dim lighting, candle on table. Our server was really helpful and attentive. I had a halibut dish with green curry. It was insanely yummy. Husband had lamb. He loved it. Everything was cooked perfectly. I also had a green gazpacho to start. It was so refreshing and light with a little kick of heat. Absolutely perfect. All of it, from lighting, to service, to food, to beverages. Give this place a try!

We saw some reviews about Havana while we were in Bar Harbor and took a chance as a walk in. Such a fantastic choice, Harley our waiter took great care of us. Appetizer and entrees were beautifully prepared and presented with great complexity to the flavor (pistachio halibut and lobster moqueca). They do get busy for dinner but make the reservation you will not be dissapointed.

Havana was one of the best meals that we had in Bar Harbor. The food was creative and excellently prepared. They have an extensive wine list as well, which they can pair with any dish. The chocolate cake was one of the best desserts I have ever had.

I made a reservation at this place. My friend and I arrived a little early and I tried to approach the hostest ( an asian woman) who would only acknowledge and address the other person that was with me who happens to be white while Im hispanic. I was really embarrassed since I was the one who made the reservation. After that I decided to just go somewhere else. Checking the reviews learn that other people “like me” somehow have been treated poorly as well. I called the place and gave the complain to the receptionist who called my statement false and completely discarded my experience. Im not a trouble maker or anything like that but I thought I should share my experience so I can save other visitors like me the bad experience of being treated poorly because of their race or personal appearance.

Bad review, Not good service, didn't treat the customer well, this not Latin American restaurant and most off the dishes are either Thai or other origin. The only item latin is paella. I wouldn't suggest anyone, I got sprimg rolls that have little burnt taste

Celebrated our Anniversary at Havana this week! Dinner was very very good. Excellent wine list, fairly priced. Great low key Sommelier helped us pick a Viognier from Yakima, WA. We had Tomatillo Gazpacho. Fresh and Tangy. And yummy Mushroom spring rolls to start. I had Lobster Paella and hubs had Lobster Mocqueca. Both were very good. Could have used a claw or two in the Paella. We shared a fabulous lemon blueberry mousse cake. Sweet, tangy and all enveloped in chocolate.

Everything at this place was just wonderful! The atmosphere is classy but down to earth at the same time and cosy. It is a place where you come to spoil yourself a bit and be a part of this place for one night. We felt very welcomed ☺️ Bartender Ryan is a sweetheart and passionate about what he does. We loved our food and separate shout out to Andrea for making a fabulous blueberry dessert! I am very picky when it comes to desserts, and it was just right on so many levels 👌✨️ Moist enough, but not soaking, interesting textures between all layers, and comes all together nicely and not too sweet, which is very important to me, personally 🙏

We read about this place in various publications and made a reservation before we left for Maine. We ate on a Tuesday night in the middle of May. Our server Harley was attentive and friendly. The room had cool artwork on the walls and was very colorful. We knew that we weren't going to have two large entrees, so I cannot comment on those. What we did have was the delicious bread service, the Gazpacho, Snap Pea Salad, Farm Salad, and Spring Rolls. The Spring Rolls were so unique and yummy that we ordered a second round of them! The Gazpacho was authentic. The Snap Pea Salad was fantastic!! The Farm Salad was great too, just in a more traditional way. They have a long and comprehensive wine and cocktail menu. I would highly recommend eating at Havana when you visit Bar Harbor.

I go to Havana every time I’m in Bar Harbor. I have been probably 10+ times. Over the years, the food quality and service has remained top notch. Over the last few years I’ve started bringing my kids with me and the team has never made us feel unwelcome and they are always kind and accommodating. To me, Maine is about spending time with family and I love that Havana honors this sentiment, even as a fine dining establishment.

Absolutely blown away. Every dish we had was great. Our service was fast and professional. Aleksandra was our waitress and she was extremely helpful in making decisions or answering any questions we had. When we planned a trip to Bar Harbor we had a list of restaurants we saw online and to be honest this was not on our radar, however after our trip this was definitely our favorite and if we could go back we would have came here twice. Strongly recommend stopping here!

Delicious fine dining, heavily leaning towards Spanish cuisine. An unexpected gem near the national Park. The staff was very friendly and service was fast. I wish I could be around longer to try more dishes.

This was the best meal I’ve had in Bar Harbor. I’ve vacationed here many times and have gone to many of the restaurants in town and across the island.

This place is great. Nice atmosphere, low light and great menu (limited). We enjoyed our food and time there. Service is really good too. Parking is not available and you have to find parking somewhere on the main st.

FYI The place is only open for dinner from 4pm onwards. The food is amazing, the lobster marques is delicious. The seafood paella was a bit salty for our liking but it was still amazing. The seafood was both rich large and plentiful. Service was great typical for any fine dining. Atmosphere was nice. For the price there is good value here but what makes it stand out is the amount and quality of the seafood.

Had such a great meal at Parrilla, Havana’s sister restaurant. We recommend the ensalada de parrilla, grilled veggies and meats. The flavors were well developed. We also enjoyed the fish taco special, it was super refreshing. Only complaint is that the meat and veggies are of similar price and when comparing the breakdown of cost of potato, pineapple, beans, and carrots it really should be cheaper than pork, steak, shrimp, and chicken. We don’t regret anything though!

We were in the restaurant next door. This means there is a really classy restaurant and something like a bar next to it. In contrast to the restaurant, this is casual and very pleasant. We weren't dressed appropriately for the restaurant anyway. Kitchen is the same, menu is not. Here too, the simpler map suited us better. Mojito was not unmoved. There was sugar at the bottom afterwards. A pity. Otherwise everything is highly recommended.

Incredible place. Wonderful food. We had the caldo gallego which was spectacular and the small sized empanadas which were interesting but very tasty. The paella was incredible. We had the appetizers paired with orange wine which the sommelier recommended and it was a great recommendation.

Our time at Havana Bar and Grill in Bar Harbor was fantastic! The food cooked in their wood-fired grill was absolutely delicious. From start to finish, we were thoroughly pleased with our meal and the service we received. It's definitely a spot worth visiting if you're in the area and craving amazing food served with great service.

From the outside the restaurant looks like a 100years house without paint, but when you enter I was surprised by how beautiful the place is on the inside the excellent sebisio 👌 the wonderful food 100% of my recommendation .

I’m a local but had never been to Havana. So delicious and special. Great service and a lovely meal. The scallops, the wine and the dessert were all amazing. I can’t wait to go back.

We were at Havana to celebrate my wife’s birthday and Valentine’s Day. They had a Pre fix menus for Valentine’s Day which was excellent. It was difficult to choose from the many excellent appetizer options and there were 7 or 8 entrees to choose from. Our party had the filet mignon, duck and seafood paella for entrees. Everyone was very please with their choice. We have gone to Havana several times around this time of year and have always been pleased.

Food was delicious, our waiter was very attentive. Wait time is reasonable. Will definitely come back.

Nice and romantic place. I did not like the appetizer of shrimp in a chili sauce although my partner liked hers. The steak was done perfectly but everything else was just ok. It was my friends birthday. All they did was write happy birthday in chocolate on a plate. Waiter was ok.

We had appetizers with the shrimp and Chile sauce. I was not a fan of it but my partner thought it was fine. The sauce had garlic in it and seemed like a puree of tomato sauce but very bland. The shrimp were good alone. That would have been better with cocktail sauce in my opinion. We each had the filet mignon, it was excellent and cooked to perfection. The bernsise sauce was tasty as well as the carrots. Potato puffs were nice but just three little florets. It was all warm to cold in temperature. My friend got the guava creme Brule and she said it was delicious. I had a cappuccino. It was good but not hot. The waiter did take my shrimp appetizer off the bill even though I didn't ask him to do so. I have not been there in many years. I would go again to try something else.

Havana was an INCREDIBLE addition to our New England tour this year. Each year, Havana hosts the most incredible NYE 5 course dinner that is quite literally jaw dropping. Absolutely worth the visit. 10/10 recommend.
