Food is excellent. Fast service and friendly atmosphere. My favorite place to eat in West Jefferson.

Not our first meal here but we all felt that the man that was taking orders could’ve been a bit more customer friendly. We felt he was purposefully clueless with regards to clarification on the available sides of the dishes we were ordering. We ended up ordering & paying for extra sides and then the sides that were supposed to be included with the entrees were not even included. also the soft drink machine literally only had 7up - all the others had “out of order” sign. You would think the staff member would’ve given us at least a heads up on this. The whole ordering experience was a bit off putting. The food was delicious so at least the cook was great.

I always make a point to stop by Havana Cafe when I’m in the area. Cuban cuisine is nearly nonexistent in most communities, so I am extremely thankful for Tony and his team for keeping our traditions, heritage, and flavors at the forefront of this West Jefferson town.

I highly recommend the empanadas.

Good lunch. Simple food, well prepared, very tasty. Reasonable prices. Disposable plates and bowls eco unfriendly but restaurant and bathrooms were clean and cashier was nice as well as efficient. Best food I’ve had in West Jefferson.

Great Cuban sandwich! First time getting to try this place. I will definitely come back to try the other Cuban fair like the Ropa Vieja and empinadas. I will make it a point to get to town earlier in my travels before they close at night. One of W.J.'s best establishments.

This is our favorite lunch spot in West Jefferson and Jefferson, NC. I grew up eating Cuban food as a kid and this place serves authentic Cuban food. Our favorite is the ½ Cuban sandwich, rice and black beans, Plantains and cafe con leche. Tony does a great job with this restaurant and we are fortunate to have it.

The Cuban sandich was excellent, prepared perfectly. The pork empanadas were just spicy enough and paired with black beans and rice made it a perfect meal. Plantains finish off perfectly.

Literally the BEST restaurant in Ashe Co - a MUST visit!!! Consistently great food and great service. My only complaint is that they're only open during the weekends, but I can appreciate a restaurant owner that chooses personal time over chasing a dollar.

This is one of my favorite places to eat in Jefferson. My go to is always the Cuban sandwich, but everything I have ate from here has been absolutely amazing. I also love the empanadas and black beans and rice. Their sauces are really good too! I love the salsa Verde.

This a must go to place for us when in town. Delicious authentic Cuban food at a great value! The vaca frita brisket, palomilla steak, Cuban sandwich, pulled pork, and sides were all amazing! Dessert and Cuban coffee shot were a great way to finish our experience.

Excellent service that was friendly, inviting, and very personal to the customers. The food was great, some of the best Cuban food I've ever had. I always try the Cubana sandwich and the cook did an excellent job. Kitchen staff was friendly and brought out everything you need for each particular dish. Classic Cuban atmosphere with the bright colors and it's all tucked away in a small space to give you a warm space on the cold winter night. I highly recommend this spot if you are in West Jefferson, located right off Main Street in front of the farmers market.

Wife had the chicken chicken fajita salad, mostly white rice/black beans in the bottom of the bowl with a small portion of meat and peppers. Food was average at best. Bigger problem was the server sold us drinks knowing that their ice machine was broken, server just said it broken and moved on. One could adjust this a little with tip, but you have to order and pay first, then get your food.

OK did a vacay with the sweetie stopped here cause there are put near few Real Cuban places near us. The coffee machine had Broke 😢 but we shared the Cuban Sandwich, beef empanadas and the Plantains and rice and beans All were awesome. The sauces are excellent the Spicy Habenero. I would say it’s the best Cuban I’ve had north of Miami, but not south of it. Service was on point, food was hot and I didn’t feel I wasted my money. I wish the flavors were more traditional and that they were more pronounced as a cuban. Everyone has their own recipe. I’d definitely comeback, best restaurant in Ashe county so far in my opinion. Recently visited Pigeon Forge for anniversary weekend and was looking for a place for lunch when we stumbled upon this gem. The ambiance, service, staff, and food were outstanding. Booming cafe in this beautiful mountain town. Tony greeted us and answered our menu questions in the most friendly manner and the food was top notch!! Crowded at lunch and an obvious local favorite but my husband and I did not feel ignored. Great menu choices and very tasty. I had beans and rice with the Cuban toast and it was plenty. Wonderfully soft, chewy bread and the beans were beefy and perfect on a cool day. My husband had the spinach bowl with chicken.
