Place was nice and cozy. Went here because of the reviews and the 5 star rating. Don’t listen to the reviews it’s BS! The cubano was mid not sure if that was Swiss cheese but it had no taste. EACH BITE I TOOK!!! all I could taste is damn garlic!!! in the sandwich. Couldn’t even taste the mustard. The pina colada tasted like chemical had more of an acidic taste to it. I have had authentic Cuban food plenty of times this ain’t it. The other people leaving reviews must not have taste buds just saying $29 2 drinks and 1 sandwich 🤯

If I could eat here every day I would…. The food is delicious. It’s like Abuela made it herself 👌. The atmosphere is cozy and beautiful. This is that secret “hole in the wall” place you want to know about because my goodness…. It’s so good

i got the cuban sandwich, its pretty good. also tried pork chop and rice, which i liked much better, especially the rice and beans. for a side, we got the sweet plantains, and those were really good too. i just wouldn’t get the sandwich again, there was a bit too much cheese for me. good service though

I have been married to a Cuban woman born and raised in Havana Cuba for over 30 years..This restaurant is the most authentic Cuban food I have tasted in Massachusetts. Have been here several times over the years and enjoy the experience and food every time. Try the homemade hot sauce , the homemade salad dressing, the Cuban garlic bread and all the entrees are great.They need to add Arroz con Pollo and lechon asado to the menu to complete the Cuban experience.

Glad to have found this little cuban gem, if you're looking for some good authentic CUBAN great food this is the place not many around. Whether is for a nice quiet time with the ladies or to catch up with family a great place with great service and delicious food. Their cuban coffee and piña colada delicious. My fav dish is ROPA VIEJA.

This has become a family go-to place. The food is always excellent, and while service can sometimes be a tad slow, the servers are always pleasant and we like the atmosphere. My mouth waters just thinking about the vaca frita! Kids menu, too. Really hard to beat this place for a meal out--and we can walk there!

I am a Cuban from South Florida living here in MA for the past year. We drove over 90 minutes to get to Havana Cafe, and let me tell you, it was so worth it!! The restaurant is very small with a few tables, so when I called they suggested I make a reservation. I’m so glad I did - there was a table right up front waiting for me and my mom. The food was as close to Cuban as I’ve had in my own home. Everything we had, ham croquetas, ropa vieja, bistec empapuzado (breaded), and the rice and beans were delicious!! The best part was the cortadito (Cuban expression). The service was super good and I will definitely be returning soon. ¡¡Muchas gracias!!

DELICIOUS! I am Cuban so I know what good, real Cuban food is and this is as authentic as you can get! My only wish is that the dining space was bigger so we could have a large group out to dinner with us, besides the dining room size, the food, atmosphere and service are GREAT!! We usually do ‘take-out’ and many times the food isn’t as good when doing this BUT Havana’s food tastes GREAT when eating at home! We even use Grub Hub for delivery! We highly recommend eating in, delivery or take-out at Havana’s Cafe!!

The ropa Viejo was very tasty. Next time I am in the area, I will stop by again. I love their sweet plantains.

A small but comfortable place to eat authentic Cuban food. I had a fried red snapper ( reasonably priced)that came with sides of choice. Even better it didn’t say”Market price “ on the menu. That really drives me away from a certain dish.

Havana is just a VIBE. I knew from the moment we discovered the restaurant that it would become a go-to spot for us. The cuban food here is consistently delicious, the service is extremely friendly and the atmosphere? It will fit you on any day - a date night, a lonely evening, a pick-me-up meal or a celebration! Anything! Come and try it for yourself 😉 Go-to dinner: Ropa Vieja, white rice and beans, plátanos maduros, and tostones. Cannot forget the Margarita Flan to enjoy at the end 🤗

The "Cuban" sandwich is just a cooked ham and mozarella cheese sandwich....then...LAYS potato chips?? A real cuban touch.... Not a real, traditional cuban sandwich.

The beef empanadas are the best I’ve ever had, this location is a must. Authentic Cuban food at an affordable price. The place is small but cozy, the food is amazing and the mojito is to die for. We traveled 45min to this spot and we can’t wait to take our friends and family!

Having indulged in plenty of local Latin American spots in both Cuba and South America, it was refreshing to find such a great place to eat up in the northeast. I sure have missed mamey smoothies, glad this place exists.

It's a nice cozy cuban restaurant. We really liked the red snapper fish and empanadas. It just looks like they are understaffed.

Horrible experience, we had to wait hour and a half to get the food and when we got it it was not what we ordered. The Restaurant concept is Cuban but there's No Cubans working in neither the flavor of the food which is not even close to the Real Cuban cuisine the Congri Rice was pale and tasted just like comino. Definitely not going back and won't recommend this place, but please don't just believe me go and confirm it yourself.

Great local spot for a nice meal out. My wife loves the fried steak (ropa vieja), though it's a touch salty for my taste. I'll take a Cuban please - so long as I remember to give it time to cool down out of the press! It comes piping hot, and stays hot for a while. I like to use that time to snack - the mariquitas are just the right choice, if you love garlic as much as I do. Do not skip the croquetas, which are fried to crispy perfection on the exterior and remain creamy and flavorful inside. I keep meaning to try an empanada, but why risk it? It can't possibly best a croqueta. Drinks are lovely. The mojito is an obvious choice, and done justice with plenty of fresh mint. Sangria has a kick if you need one. So far we've only tried Margarita's flan for dessert, but we recommend you do, too! Vibes are impeccable. Grab the seat in the back left corner if you can, for maximum romance. Try not to dance (or just let yourself have at it - who cares!), and enjoy!

Impressively delicious, fresh, homemade food in a very out-of-the-way location—but 100% worth the trip! Try the flavorful picadillo, ground beef, with olives—and sides of sweet plantains, rice, and beans. Very casual decor—but a chef whose recipes are absolutely authentic. Only 10 minutes from the outlets in Wrentham. Highly recommended!

Such a hidden gem. They have the best sandwiches, on the freshest bread in town. The empanada's, croquetes, yuka and plantains are all excellent. The churros were fresh and delicious. Highly recommend giving this place a try

It was sunny and warm and I drove by seeing a outdoor table available at this small establishment and pulled over looked up the menu online. The reviews and pictures for a smaller place were very good. I ordered Mojito’s, boiled Yuca, Tostones, the Cuban Sandwich and a Croqueta. The drinks were delicious and all the food was cooked great. Our server was great as well. Would definitely pop in the next time I’m in the area. On street parking available.

Phenomenal food as always. A little small in space, but don’t let that concern you, as the staff, atmosphere and food more than make up for it. Reserving a table is extremely simple, if you want to go that route. Once again, thank you to the staff for the great experience.

Best Cuban restaurant hands down! You won’t get Cuban food like this anywhere else unless you travel to South Florida or Cuba…and I’ve been to both so I’m letting you know it is completely authentic. Everything and I mean EVERYTHING is Delicious! I can’t tell you where to start…try it all. Oh, and make sure to try the drinks! Mojito and Piña Colada are two of my personal faves. Go pay this place a visit…you won’t regret it and you’ll be back again and again!

Fantastic food and service! Small sit down restaurant, very cozy and clean. Warm and inviting staff, great prices. I wasn't crazy about the fruit shake (guava) because it was kind of milky and lacking flavor but I've gotten similar ones in Little Havana, so this is a me issue, pretty sure the shakes are supposed to be like that. The food was so good, we honestly went because we've been dying for croquetas, and boy did they deliver. Can't wait to go back!

Love love love this little hole-in-the-wall so much. It really deserves a looong line out the door every friggin day. I bet if it was on Thayer street in Providence or something, it would. The Cuban sandwich is to die for, it's the perfect ratio of ingredients. If you're in the mood for alcohol, the mojito is great, and if you need a caffeine pick-me-up, the cafe con leche is delicious and strong. The servers are the sweetest, and the ambiance always puts me in the best mood. The Cuban music is lively, and the decor is so fun, yet it still has the coziest feel.

Only place in this zip code to grab a Cubano sandwich. Great service and great food.

As a Latina I wanted to love this restaurant but didn’t have a good experience. I ordered 2 empanadas and tostones. The empanadas were tasty and fresh but my tostones were incredibly thin and so hard I couldn’t eat them. I’ve tried all kinds of Latin cuisine and have never had tostones this bad. Honestly tasted like they were old and had been re heated in oil. Also I was charged over 13$ for these items which doesn’t match the menu prices online that should’ve come out to 8$. This isn’t a big deal price wise but the establishment should charge the prices that are stated on the menu. For future costumers I would be mindful and double check your prices online before paying.

What an awesome little joint. It really is a cafe. Only a handful of tables. Our waitress was very personable and friendly. All the food we ordered was really good. I really enjoyed the beef empanada. My mojito was top notch. We ordered ropa vieja and a Cuban sandwich for dinner. My wife ordered her Cuban with extra pickles and was very happy with it. The ropa vieja was really tasty with the congri. We ordered flan to go, and that was really good too. We will definitely come back again.

Found this place on Trip Advisor and wow I'm glad we did! Off the beaten track for sure. Maybe 5 tables indoors. Such friendly staff and prompt service. The ropa vieja was perfectly seasoned. Both salty and sweet plantains were very tasty. Whatever you get, you will not be disappointed.

I grew up in Miami and had been craving a real, authentic Cuban Sandwich for YEARS. I Finally found one here! The croquetas, congris and baca frita were also so, so amazing. They made some of the best plantains I have ever had and my grandmother loooves the Ropa Vieja. I will try to stop by every time I am in town!

I’ve been going to Havana Cafe for over 5 years and I’ve never had a bad meal. It’s the quintessential “hole in the wall”, but don’t let that get in the way of trying an amazing food experience.

But I was so hungry I said yeah go ahead Grab me the chicken croquettes sandwich. Well let me Tel you, best sandwich I've ever had in my life. I think these guys could enhance their business 1000% if they took photos of what they are offering.

As I had lived in Miami for many, many years, I was unable to find TRUE and authentic Cuban food outside of South Florida for many years, especially in New England. I have found THE place for such great cuisine in this small and cozy restaurant just north of Providence. We started with croquettes and empanadas and I was floored by their great taste. For dinner, I had the 'Ropa Vieja' (shredded beef in sauce) with 'Congri' (black beans and white rice cooked together) with 'Yuca con Mojo' (cassava with garlic sauce). OMG...it was spectacular! I was taken back to those days and will gladly come back to try more dishes. My husband had the 'Picadillo' (ground beef) with 'arroz con frijoles' (black beans and white rice cooked separately) and 'platanos' (sweet plantains). We topped it off with 'Yuca con mojo' (vanilla custard with syrup) for dessert and were VERY satisfied. Bravo!!

Havana Cafe is very much open as we went there today (March 4) and delicious as usual. They were closed for a bit but are open now. This is one of our favorite local places and it never disappoints.

Cubano is amazing as always. We tried a few more items and all were solid. The kids grilled cheese looked amazing. But my kid would not let me touch it, nor try it. Just an amazing little place.

Maybe I went on a bad day or maybe I’m just a Cuban born and raised with ridiculous standards but it was not very authentic and the tamales were so bad (I’m sorry).
