I fell in love with the little bakery that's been around longer than I'd imagined. Everything was beautifully displayed. I was sent here by my daughter...Oh I wish I could have picked out more for myself.

Best bakery in LC. Plenty of pastries and local coffee. I love coming here for their sourdough and lunch options. Creative menu and awesome work space.

Great food. The new breakfast sandwich was fantastic. It’s in the style of Eggslut, but could use a hinge bun or wrapper to help contain the egg. I would come back again for more of their breakfast sandos. Don’t skip the tots either. I also picked up some pastries for later that were very good. The coffee game is a little weak, having no proper espresso machine. I really think a place like this would do great if they opened on Sunday or moved to the south side of town.

This place is AMAZING!!! The pimento cheese is to die for. Seriously, the best I’ve ever had. Their bread is fresh baked. They have amazing sandwiches. They have coffee drinks. It is just a little hidden treasure in Lake Charles! I will be visiting here every time I’m in Lake Charles!

Definitely the worst chicken salad I've ever eaten. Who makes chicken salad from all dark meat with the skin still on? And that platter of chocolate chip cookies on the counter uncovered with a fly on it? Gross. I understand now why their parking lot was practically empty at lunch time.

quiet easy access good food. my favorite is the almond croissant they don't always have them. but i do love them. everything looks good friendly services, it a little out of the way but worth the trip. I have wanted to try the brioche rolls one of my favorite breads but they sell out and did not know about the brisket sandwich but i will but it on my want to try list

The spinach feta croissant was amazing! Probably the most soft/moist croissant wrap I have ever had. I also picked up two beautiful loafs of bread! Delicious!

Awesome little bakery, really good sandwiches.

Do not profane these croissants with chicken salad. They are not to be used as a vehicle for meats or cheeses…they deserve more respect than that. I never thought I would say this, but they may be TOO buttery and flaky, just like Shawshank Redemption was perhaps too perfect a film. My only option is to try another one.

So far I've had nothing but great food here. It's clean, smells like coffee and it has a nice homey ambiance

Helen St. bakehouse is such an under appreciated staple in Lake Charles, most people don’t know that they provide bread and pastries to a lot of the local restaurants and coffee shops in the area!! But you can just come straight here, skip the craziness, and support them directly! If you do, please please try this brisket sandwich (absolutely amazing), some of their freshly baked bread, and super soft chocolate chip cookies! We love this place and will be back soon!

Went in for impromptu brunch, and tried their excellent chicken salad on fresh croissant, cinnamon roll and great coffee. A delight and good value for the money. Fresh, new and clean, Helen Street Bakery will be on my go-to list for pastry and breads. Also convenient to downtown, and relatively easy to get to from anywhere in the area.

Delicious croissants. Crispy, sweet and savory. We had the chocolate and everything croissant, cinnamon roll, kilatchie and plain croissant. Will definitely go back. Would prefer to drink my coffee out of a real cup, not a to go cup, though.

First your greeted with a southern hospitality and smiles, which is something that is overlooked and flowing away in my opinion. My problem with this place when I walk in I am unable to decide what I want, its all DELICIOUS. If your local or not you absolutely need to go check this place out. Thanks for the eggs Benedict this morning!!!

Small quaint hidden gem in Lake Charles.. After coming upon 3 amazing restaurants while visiting Lake Charles, they all receive their bread from this bakery. They recommended me to check it out. I did on a Saturday around 2pm. Slim pickings.They only have 9 items to choose from. 2 7grain loafs. 3 king cakes..2choc.chip cookies 1 croutons. 1 bread puffs. Was a bit Dissapointed. This may just be my fault for going to late in the day. Will have to be first when I visit again. Also lots of locals seem to know the family and its "history" heard the same story 3 different time. All is little different.

I've had the pecan chocolate chip cookies, the baguette, the almond croissant. All amazing! So happy to have this little bakery just down the road from our shop!

Long-time wholesale bakery that’s just opened up a new storefront, Helen St. Bakehouse has a really chill atmosphere with some tasty treats. Come early, though, because breakfast items were getting snatched up left and right. I’m really hoping that the cafe takes off so that there will be even more options.

This is a wonderful addition to the downtown area! Great food and nice atmosphere. Both of the workers I spoke to were knowledgeable and friendly.
