Great food!! I loved the French onion soup. Funny...we were just there the last week of August and Hermes bar was closed. It's too bad because we really wanted to try the oysters.

This is the bar of Antoine's and they offer their own menu (with some limited offerings from Antoine's). This is a great space and they make great drinks. I've always enjoyed myself here and it is a great place for a quick lunch (or a long one). My only complaint would be they are a bit haphazard with what you can and can't order off of the Antoine's menu. If you want to sample some of Antoine's food without the full formal dining experience (but that is a big part of the experience!!!) then this will be a good introduction. This is a great place for couples and groups.

So this place is actually highly recommended. Went for happy hour. Staff were great friendly. Nice old French decor. Drinks were good. We ordered 2 items. The shrimp on the happy hour menu was fantastic. But we shared a Gumbo. Very disappointed. Sauce/broth was very good But where was the shrimp oysters and crab? And the bread was a soft airy non descriptive thing. No flavour or texture. I thought Antoine’s was French high end cuisine. Won’t go back. I mentioned my disappointment And didn’t get much of a response.

No happy hour on Friday, please update your website. No email contact point on your website either. Disappointed locals. Edit: I visited this past Friday 12/29 shortly after 5:00 p.m. and was told by the bartender that there is no longer happy hour on Fridays, he specifically said it was 'Mon-Thurs only'. After I mentioned it was on the website, I was told 'managers have not updated the website despite complaints'. I witnessed this story told to other patrons as well (before 6pm.) Clearly there is a disconnect somewhere. Perhaps he thought I was a tourist and could just flat out lie to me. Which is even worse.

This was a great spot for a bottle of wine and some good food. Randall at the bar took great care of my friend and I as we tried a few appetizers and some Pompano. The Chargrilled Oysters were delicious and the Pompano was light and well prepared. The soufflé potatoes- those were a miss, no seasoning and served with what I think was a butter that had some parsley but no seasoning. Overall a great find and the oldest family owned restaurant in the country as it is attached to Antoine’s.

Disappointing. Service was absolutely terrible last night. We wanted to eat at the restaurant (Antoine's) but got there around 8:40 and they told us they can't serve us unless we eat at the bar. Who closes so early on a Friday?! Anyways, we went to the bar and ordered food. We ordered a bowl of soup, they brought a cup instead. We ordered the waygu steak and instead we got the filet with vin. We asked them when they brought the stake if that was the waygu as it didn't look right and they said yes. We tasted it and we knew it wasn't. We went again to the bartenders and asked what they ordered for us and they finally admitted the mistake. They brought us the waygu a few minutes later and IT WAS almost COLD. What the heck?! That's a $75 stake! When I first sat at the bar, there were crumbles all over the place from a previous person, I moved them myself with my hand and the bartender just looked at me and didn't bother to clean them. It was beyond disappointing!

As soon as we sat down the server brought us menus and took our drink order. As I opened my menu a roach fell out of it and ran across the table into my lap and. I know the French Quarters has many different types of bugs and rodents. I know establishments fight to keep them away, but I don't need to see a roach run across my lap. After that incident we decided to pass on ordering food. The drinks we received were good, but we won't be returning.

What a Great place to go and have a full service fine dining experience without the fussy dress code. Desire, Shai, and Ally worked well as a team and even with a completely full bar area handled perfectly. I can't wait to move back and make this my go to spot. It has all of the viewing of the antics and shenanigans of Burbon Street with the quiet and safety of not being on it. We of course had to get all of the Classics: Soufflé Potatoes, Seafood Gumbo, Oysters Rockafeller and Char-Grilled, and for the Finally The Baked Alaska! If you're with friends, get the BIG ONE as opposed to the Individual, you'll thank me later. One more item that we had was the Chicken Cordon Bleu Sliders, if they're on the menu, I highly suggest them. I didn't look at the menu while seated. It was only afterwards my friend said the Château was avaliable. It's a steal, a Filet for 2 - 3 (20oz) Cooked and sliced with 2 sauces and Brabant Potatoes with Mushrooms. But this is on the list for my next trip. Again, there is no dress code to have a Grand True NOLA Experience, which I highly recommend!

Hermes Bar is an overshadowed wonder bar. Attach to Antoine's, it's a fantastic maker of classic cocktails. The French 75 is among the best I've had across the planet. First they didn’t know how to make an espresso martini and were arguing with how they make it, then served me a grey goose cosmo and told me she didn’t have the proper jigger to measure it appropriately? I was served lime juice flavored with a dash of vodka. Then charged me $19, and when I asked why there’s an up charge “it was for the extras that go into a martini.” Completely out of it, dysfunctional, unethical and I did not even drink my drink it was that bad. Avoid this place at all costs.

We were looking for a place to have a drink and some quick bites while walking around the quarter. The food we ordered from the menu was quite awful. We did not finish any of it which says alot since we were hungry and drinking. Giving this 3 stars though because on the positive side our server was super friendly and the drinks were decent. Stop in for a drink but save your $ for food elsewhere.

We had a very impromptu dinner here early on a recent Thurs. when we were in NOLA for a vacation. We decided to just walk in without any reservation on our anniversary. We were in a casual mood, so we passed by their formal dining room with the white tablecloths and peeked into the bar, Hermes, which is a very attractive, warm and elegant atmosphere with lots of polished wood,, so we didn't feel like we were downgrading by dining in the bar, and we took seats at one of their tall cocktail tables and were greeted immediately by our friendly server. We were delighted when she told us that the menu was the same as the dining room. For starters, and to toast our anniversary, I had a French 75 cocktail and husband had a Sazerac. Both were very enjoyable. We also had a really interesting potato appetizer that was so delicious and unique. They fry very thin slices of potato and make them puff up somehow in a beautiful shape. It's almost like a hollow french fried potato balloon. It is accompanied by a very nice dip. Super delish. I chose the almond encrusted trout for my entree, and my husband had the wagyu beef burger. Both came with sides that had not been mentioned on the menu, so that was nice and made it even better value. We both raved about our selections, and shared bites. Side salad was delicious, too. I'm already craving a repeat of this entire meal! I also had a glass of Hartford House Russian River Valley Chardonnay, and I couldn't wait to find out if my local wine store carried it, I liked it so much. In short, the service, drinks and food were excellent. Perfect, really. Other employees in addition to our server stopped by our table to check on things, as well, but the service never felt hovering. Also, we noticed others celebrating birthdays and anniversaries as well. It was so convivial. Many congratulations went around, and it was just a delightful experience all around. Can't wait to return if we make it back to NOLA.

Disappointing, definitely not a cocktail bar. Came in early Saturday evening and ordered a couple of classic cocktails off the menu, expecting well made drinks. The bartender made them with the same care as a gin and tonic. After a haphazard pour, she swirled the cocktail shaker for a couple of seconds and then poured. All the drinks were made this way by 4 different bartenders, including a cocktail (French 75) that wasn't even chilled. It may sound like nitpicking, but this is a high-end bar attached to one of the most famous high-end restaurants in a cocktail focused city. I expected much better. They should start by training their staff.
