1st timer and will definitely be back!

Honestly this place had no right being so fantastic! Right off the Katy Trail and the burger and cheese curds revived us after many miles biking. Service was incredibly welcoming and next Katy ride will absolutely include this spot.

Super friendly local bar, customers and staff were fun. Food was hot and tasty. I had a burger, don't get the double unless you are hungry!

Great stop if you’re in the area. I had the catfish bites and tater tots. The catfish was so good! The tater tots were a bit crispy for my taste, but others might like them that way. Plenty of basic cold drinks on hand—even had some Nestle Chocolate Milk. It was a one-woman show when I stopped and she was friendly and helpful. Food was done quickly. A note on the bathrooms—they are small and do not have a sink in them, but there’s one on the east wall.

We love stopping by for a burger, pizza or wings & a beer. Never had a bad meal or bartender, they're all amazing & work really hard! Super easy to find & right on the Katy Trail by the river.

Stopped in very hungry for the first meal of the day at 2:30 and after 31 miles of bicycling on the Katy Trail. We weren’t only treated like family, we were told that we were family while we enjoyed our fantastic meal there. I had both a pulled pork sandwich and a chicken salad sandwich. I wouldn’t have ordered both if I had known that both would be filled with SO much meat ! If you want generous helpings at reasonable prices along with ice cold beer, this place is for you.

Food was fine but the wait for chicken.. at time of ordering we were told 45 min.. and hour later the server jokes I really should tell people it will be closer to and hour 45…

Killer dive bar with great food. The burgers are for real, pork skins fresh and clean. The woman working Sunday had mad skills. Juggled a huge rush of orders with a great attitude.

It's like stepping back in time!!! The waitress was also doing the cooking,she was really nice. Chips and qeaso was good.

My wife just had to use the bathroom. I hate to stop in a place to use their facilities and at least not buy something. I explained the situation to the lady and she said it was not a problem. I asked if there was any coffee and she made a fresh pot. We also ordered a pretzle with cheese and it was very good. If we lived closer this would be a great hang out for us. Again great people!

Only missed the last star because they don't have fountain drinks. Great food and even better atmosphere. Sits right on the river and Katy trail.

Super friendly people and our waitress was so nice. Decided to sit in the air-conditioning for a bite to eat while biking the Katy Trail. They had a full bar and beer. The sodas were cold, and so were the caffeine drinks, and they had what looked like a decent menu. We had nachos that were stale chips with chili and cheese, which was the same as what they put on the chili dog. Not very tasty, not sure what we were expecting. The person doing the cooking was smoking at the bar along with another person, which was an issue for us. Needless to say, we didn't spend much time there. They were nice to let us fill up our water bottles, so we were appreciative.

The owner of this bar is an outstanding person. An absolutely fantastic place!

Took the boat from hermann to Portland hunting and stopped in at this little bar resturaunt damn good food at a very reasonable price we left with our stomachs full.

As a native Missourian visiting his home state after a long absence, I couldn't be happier about this place. We were biking the Katy trail and stopped here for a break, and it was just about perfect. Tasty comfort food and good service from a lady who was the bartender, cook, manager, bouncer, and hostess. Locals at the bar, checkers on the shelf, pool table, jukebox, a shady spot on the banks of the Missouri River--if I were in a Twilight Zone episode and woke up here I'd know I was in heaven. Very, very nice.

One of the few spots between Jeff City and Hermann. Good burgers and beer (no tap). Bathroom is a little odd.

Excellent burgers. Tater tots and onion rings were over done. Friendly service but long wait for food. Not really any vegetarian options.

I've been here twice now, both times with larger groups of 20+ people. The staff is friendly, the beer is cold, and the food is hot and really good. One of my favorite places to enjoy good times with good friends.

We ordered our food at 8:20 pm. Not many people there and seemed like a friendly place. We didn’t get our food until 9:20 pm. And that is only because someone with me said something. We looked in the back for the cook and he wasn’t cooking. Again NO ONE WAS THERE! No one came to check on us or anything. Food was just okay. Not worth a hour of time. Never coming back.

First off, a disclaimer — I didn’t actually eat here, so I cannot offer an opinion about the food. What I can attest to is my experience as a Katy trail rider rolling into the Portland trailhead after 40 miles on a 90 degree day with empty water bottles and finding zero water at the trailhead. I was hot, sweaty, thirsty, and exhausted. It had been at least 20 miles since I’d had anything cold to drink, five miles since I finished drinking the warm water in my bottles, and I still had 10 miles to go for the day. That’s when I noticed the Open sign just at the top of a small hill and decided to see if I could get water and hopefully some ice. This little bar and grill ended up being an oasis on a terribly hot day. I didn’t even have to ask and the bartender was grabbing my water bottles and filling them with ice and water. Sitting in the A/C sipping an icy cold soda started perking me back up, and I struck up a conversation with one of the regulars. At some point, I noticed an ice cream freezer and decided to have an ice cream sandwich (my bicycle is powered by ice cream). When I was sufficiently revived and ready to hit the trail for the remaining 10 miles, I tried to settle my tab only to learn both my drink and my ice cream had been covered. I know it was a small thing, but the gesture really touched my heart. You just never know what nice people you will meet.

Took my mother and brother there. Great bartender. Ice cold beer. Tasty catfish sandwich. It's a great little country place. The other patron at the bar haf some homemade deer sausage that he gladly shared with a stranger. Cant wait to go back.

Such an awesome place! A place worth going out of your way to visit. The moment you step through the door your treated like family. From the friendly atmosphere to the AWESOME food and service, this quaint bar and grill is a must!

Glad we stopped for lunch and rain shelter while biking Katy Trail. Cheeseburger was thick and juicy. French fries were tasty too. Prices were very reasonable w good service.

Amazing place! We'd been out on the trail in the rain all day. Had burgers, fried pickles and mushrooms. The lady was very helpful telling us the best places to go and giving us ideas for a hotel for the night. The food was amazing! I'd definitely go again.

After finishing our latest Katy Trail ride, we stopped here for a late lunch. It's the only restaurant in Portland, MO. The food was decent but service was lacking considering there were only about 15 people there and it was an off time for a meal.

Amazing place and very peaceful and welcoming bar atmosphere. Shannon the owner is such a lovely woman and takes good care of her community and customers not to mention the mouthwatering burgers, cant get a burger that amazing for miles.

Great watering hole, staff is friendly, beer is cold and the food is great. They have two antique 9’ pool tables that have just been recovered. One is from 1936 and the other is 1933. Go have a good time. It’s also right next to the river and Katy trail

Great place to refresh after riding the Katy Trail

I might be biased, but if you are searching for a great cheeseburger and a cold one, this is the place. Actually, it's the only place for miles and miles. Whether you're riding a Harley or a Trek, you're welcome here. The prices are incredibly affordable. And it's just 50 yards from the Katy Trail and the Missouri River.

It's worth a stop if you are riding the Katy Trail. Their beer selection is limited but they do keep a really nice variety of snacks and non alcoholic beverages for cyclist passing through. Support this little gem who is trying to support the Katy Trail riders/hikers.
