5/5. when ur at the jersey shore, specifically Belmar, you gotta come here. (Locals love it that’s how yk it’s good) food comes in big portions and is so filling

Food was delicious, attitude of our waitress was crappy. We’ve never been to this place before, and they only take cash or Venmo. My mom only had credit cards, she jokingly said “I’m not from here.” And had to walk to a dollar general, as she walked out; the waitress mocked her saying “I’m not from here.” 🤨 proceeded to give us a look as we walked out after paying. Fix your attitude and face.

Only two slices of pork roll what a joke just go to beckman's you get four slices for the same price

Wow wow...oh so good. We sat outside and had the best lunch. I had the shrimp po boy and my wife the fish tacos. Both were excellent. The po'boy roll toast and soft ( not a hot dog roll). Crispy shrimp cole slaw and sauce. Home made pasta salad. Toasted pita chips. The fish tacos with guacamole were so so good. A place to go back to again and again.

It's really sad to say, but this place has taken a turn for the worse. We walked in and the place looked like it hadn't been cleaned in weeks. The floor tiles were dirty and gritty. There were cob webs forming in the corners of the restaurant where the seats were. There were dead bugs on the window sills. My bf asked for a coffee with cream and sugar. All they had were equals and sweet and lows which while it's not a big deal, it was just another straw on the camels back. Our experience culminated in being there for 35 mins, and not getting our food. We ended up paying our bill and leaving, hungry and irritated. In their defense, the two younger waitresses were really nice and hard working. When we told our waitress we wanted the check and to leave, she told us our food would be ready in 5 mins and that she could pack it up for us but at that time we had just had enough. I'd been back there a few times recently and had bad experiences and told my bf that we shouldn't go there but he wanted to give them another chance. Needless to say, we will not be returning to our once favorite restaurant. Such a shame what has happened to that place since the new owners took over...

Stopped for lunch with my train-aholic grandson and his dino-aholic brother. Cafe is right next to the tracks at the Belmar Station. We ate inside but there is also outside seating. Heather and Vita were both very friendly and accomodating and the food was great. I had pork roll, egg and cheese on a hard roll and it was excellent. The boys split an order of pancakes and also enjoyed their meal. We'll be making this Cafe a regular stop for dining in and pick up.

Decent no frills option if you're in the area. Definitely not bad, but better options out there. Spicy remoulade was excellent! Fried fish was good. Salad was decent. Portions and prices are good. Service is not friendly. Small and a bit disheveled inside. If I was a local I'd give it another try.

The food is definitely good and worth the wait. The service sadly 😕......

This is the first review I've ever written, and am only writing it to warn anyone who might be thinking about coming to this place to eat. This was by far the worst restaurant experience I've ever had in my life. Three of my friends and myself decided to come here for breakfast during MDW. The the waitress took our order (2 shrimp po boy sandwiches and 2 breakfast sandwiches). We waited nearly an hour and a half and our food never came. I always try to give restaurants the benefit of the doubt, because I understand things might be going on behind the scenes that slow things down, but we felt that the least they could have done was check in and give us an update. I decided to go inside and ask them how long they think it would take for our food to be finished. The one woman working responded by saying "you want us to put that ticket in now?" At this point I was fed up and told them I would just pay for the coffee's and we would be leaving. The woman took my money looked at me as if I did something wrong. The other woman working (i am guessing they are co owners) went on to tell me how busy they are and that I just don't understand. To be completely honest, it wasn't busy at all. They gave me my money back and I left. As we were leaving, one of the owners chases me and my friends down in the parking lot and starts harassing us because we were leaving. I mentioned that it is absolutely ridiculous to make us wait that long for 4 sandwich's without even giving us an update. These people clearly don't know how to run a business. Its never a good idea to disrespect and argue with customers. I would never recommend this restaurant to anyone, and probably wouldn't have even wrote this review if it wasn't for how disrespectful the staff was. We ended up going to Joe's Bagel and Grill on the other side of the parking lot. They were much busier and got our food to us within 15 minutes. I recommend this staff develops some type of system to operate more efficiently but more importantly learn how to speak to your customers. If I could give this 0 stars I would. These owners have no idea how to run a restaurant business and if you see this review I hope you consider going somewhere else.

I highly recommend! The food was excellent, service was fast, and staff were polite and courteous. This place is worth your short trip from Belmar Beach area. ⛱️

Small friendly place with a limited menu, but an at home feel.

Stopped by today and had a great experience at Hooked. Fresh food and service. Chicken andouille and rice soup was homemade and delicious.

Excellent breakfast place in Belmar. We went for sunrise at Belmar beach and than stopped at Hooked. Cafe for breakfast. Food was excellent..must try potato fries. The staff Vita and Heather were very friendly and always smiling. Highly recommend this place.

Great breakfast spot, near the ocean 🌊 and with excellent service. The staff was super attentive and was constantly checking on us if we needed refills on the coffee, extra plates, or anything else. Best of all they were always smiling and cheerful. We were a party of 7 with 5 kids and they were super patient with us. Lastly the food was delicious, good portion at a fair price. Highly recommend.

Heather the owner/chef is a culinary genius and can whip up the most delicious meals. Breakfast scrambled eggs and fresh veggies.... Made with love. Her staff so friendly. Highly recommend.

Great breakfast & great service

Great breakfast. Ordered a 1 egg omlette and it was fantastic! To die for good. Everyone should try this place out. They have outdoor seating and allow pets. They will even bring water to your dog, how sweet. Super fast service. Service with a smile, so rare these days. Note, you can get an ice coffee here.

Great food! Accomodating chef, i asked for and got a 1 egg omelette with exactly what I wanted in it. Comfy outside seating where dogs are welcome. Awesome prices too. Hsve I mentioned really good food. We will be back.

Got the hooked omelet. The omelet was fluffy with deliciously prepared shrimp. Wish the potatoes were a bit crispier.. but felt the love in the making of the food:) Very small restaurant with outdoor seating. Waitress was friendly and helpful. Liked that it seemed to have “regulars” eating and chatting with cook and waitress.

Hooked is a small restaurant with some extra outdoor seating with a parking lot view. The food is tasty so be sure to check the specials. Over all good food and service at reasonable prices.

We had two subpar dining experiences at other places the last two days, one poor food the other poor service. Hooked had them easily beat in both cases. We dined outside with our dog, who loves coming here for the outdoor dining and water bowl. The food is excellent, my wife had a wrap with a Mexican flare, and I had a veg. omelet, plus we brought the kids home a delicious peach sandwich (pork roll, cheese, egg, hashbrowns). The omelet comes with breakfast potatoes, and the potatoes at Hooked might be my favorite at the Jersey shore - they have a nice kick to them, very tasty. The service here is excellent, waitresses are very attentive and friendly.

My cousin and I had to make a delivery in a town nearby. Got there to early to deliver so we googled restaurants. Hooked came up close to where we were at and was open at 5;30 AM. So we stopped in. We were greeted by very friendly staff and treated like royalty. The place is fantastic great food nice atmosphere good prices. Will definitely go back when in the area ! Highly recommended !!!

Have been twice. First experience was a 5/5. Food was fantastic and service was fast. Cornbeef hash is out of this world. Second experience was 3.5/5. Food was good as usual but service was a bit slow. We were tucked in the corner so I think they forgot about us.

Hooked Cafe is a family-owned and -operated casual eatery near the Belmar train station. It is one of our favorite places to eat breakfast in town. Cozy little place with counter and booth seating, as well as outside seating in the warm weather. The Hooked Omelette is a personal favorite.

Had breakfast with my wife. A cute little place right next to the Belmar RR station. Our server was friendly and helpful. I had a cheese omelette with a side of gray cornbeef hash. My wife had the best grilled cheese and tomato she ever had.

Wanted some fresh fish. Stopped by on a rainy Sunday for lunch and was not disappointed. Fish of the day sandwich and fish tacos were incredibly delicious. Friendly service, too!
