Spectacular, unique hotel in a scenic town. The staff was warm and inviting, and went out of their way to add little things to our stay to make it more comfortable and enjoyable. 10/10 would stay again and recommend to friends!

Quite possibly the dirtiest place I have ever stayed. Lots of promises, such as poolside spritz's, small plate items, but this is not the reality Spritz hour was non existent, there weren't even towels by the pool. The hotel is on a busy road, so sitting outside in the unkept, weed filled, front property you are on top of a road. The sound from the road is heard inside the hotel if you have a front facing room. When you order items off the menu, you will be told that most of them are not available. There is also a septic smell when outside. Dust throughout the common areas, even food on the floor. Not sure how it is getting good review. I would not recommend it if you are looking for cleanliness, manicured property, and quiet. Also the owner is not on property actually no one was on property when we checked in, we were told to come back When we did there was still no one to check us in so we had to call the main number hoping someone would answer.

The reviews here are spot on. We spent a couple nights here just to relax. All of the staff made us feel like family and knew our names. That is the kind of hospitality that makes us come back. The hotel has modern amenities but retains the historical charm. Great location close to hiking and shops. This is a perfect place to go to as a couple for relaxation in a quiet environment.

Hotel Lilien is exquisitely designed and nestled in the Catskill Mountains. Great breakfast and driving distance from plenty of hikes, this was a great weekend trip from the city!

My daughter & I stayed 1 night at Hotel Lilien. Even though it was just one night, It is a place we will always remember. The hotel was flawlessly renovated, yet they still managed to preserve that old world charm. Their staff were exceptionally friendly and the rooms were also spotless. Five stars all the way across, and well deserved - bravo!

My stay at Hotel Lilien was truly unforgettable. It really is a place unlike any other I've visited before. A home away from home filled with unique decor, warm vibes, quality food and drinks, very cozy beds (+ pillows!), and gorgeous Kaaterskill Falls hiking trails just down the road. The service was also top notch. It was everything I needed and more, and I left feeling rejuvenated. : ) Looking forward to returning!

I feel like the oddball having had such an ugly experience, I really had high hopes and tried to love the lilien! The good: it’s a unique building and very spacious! Lots of sweet decor pieces. The bad: no one there for check in, very poor service in the bar/dining area, sold out of majority of food items both nights we stayed, absolutely zero soundproofing in the rooms, could hear every single word of quiet conversations in the room beside us, grounds not well maintained and we felt slightly catfished from photos of the pool area.. reality was lots of rust, dirty seating and overgrown grass.

The overall vibe was 10/10 and it made me wish I could live there full time. Wish I wasn’t already married- I would totally have my wedding there!

Feels like a hotel in a Wes Anderson movie. Like the kinda place where you get snowed in by a blizzard and then have to partake in a murder mystery. Has exactly that kind of aesthetic. Breakfast is the same plate of food everyday, but I felt it was the perfect size and satisfying. In the evening they have a bar you can get cocktails and food at so you don't need to go elsewhere. It was incredibly cozy to sit by the fireplace with my wife with drinks. All of the staff (and basically all the people in the area) were incredibly friendly. The bar closes before 10pm, so there isn't a loud scene going on while guests upstairs are trying to sleep which I greatly appreciated. Rooms have modern ammenaties like insulation and a normal hotel bathroom while maintaining the beautiful wooden floors and furniture of an old 1800s hotel. Only downside of the room was that getting the AC unit to cooperate was a hassle, it didn't really do anything when you worked the remote.

My husband and I spent a weekend at Hotel Lilien in the shoulder season (early May) after a very busy week in NYC, working and playing. The hotel was the perfect place to have our relaxing vacation truly begin. The cozy public rooms and wrap around deck invited slowing down. And the warm welcome from Chris, one of the owners who got their start in the hospitality business in Panama, was so inviting. Ask Chris about his background. He is as warm and lovely, as he is interesting. We arrived on a Friday afternoon, ordered some great cocktails and small bites and relaxed on the deck, overlooking the woods, for a couple hours. Dinner of grilled cheese and chunky tomato soup served on the deck, was perfect after longer affairs in NYC. The next morning's hike to the waterfalls along the converted train track was gorgeous. You can do a four-five mile hike, which we did, or a much shorter hike directly to the falls. And don't miss a stop to Shandaken, the sweetest bakery in town. Then back to the inn for some serious relaxing: a game of checkers in the library and some port while my husband whupped me in pool. Found a nice spot to read before dinner. Great dinner next door at Nat's, followed by more relaxing at Lilien, while listening to music provided by the DJ. Breakfasts were terrific both days; fresh pastries, yogurt, smoked salmon with the fixings and hard boiled eggs. Sadly, we had to drive back to NYC to catch our plane west but felt that we achieved our goal of not returning home from a full week of work, theater, and sightseeing, exhausted. We highly recommend Hotel Lilien.

We just had the sweetest stay at Hotel Lilien. Right off the bat, it is so cozy and inviting. Every member of the staff was really kind and helpful, throughout our time there we felt truly taken care of. Our room was beautiful and clean, as was the entire place of course. We loved spending time downstairs in the library room and hanging out at the bar. The breakfast in the morning is an added bonus. We kept repeating to each other "they're really just doing it right here" lol. We'd love to come back during any and all seasons.

Fantastic place to stay right near hunter mountain. We went off peak during late April, but I imagine it’s even more gorgeous during Fall or when there’s snow. Room had plenty of space, was clean with cozy decor, however lacked some amenities like a TV and fridge - but that didn’t bother us at all. Clawfoot tub was a nice touch but the hot water did cut out a couple times. Will definitely be back as overall it was a great experience.

Hotel Lilian is as incredibly designed as it is warm and inviting! The owner Chris was a gem and served us incredible chicken sandwiches and martinis. They’re open every day for dinner! It’s a real diamond.

I recently hosted a company executive offsite at Hotel Lilien, and had such a great experience. I've hosted 30+ offsites in my career and this is one ranks in one of the most unique and effortless places I've planned with. If you are looking to take your team to a unique site, for quality time together outside of NYC I highly suggest Hotel Lilien. Their meeting room, is cozy but beautiful - full of windows (a rarity when booking meeting spaces) and a door to their wrap around porch. Hotel Lilien also went above and beyond by purchasing ergonomic chairs as requested for our event (now available for future events!). The hotel itself is a beautiful boutique inn, full of warming touches that really helped the team ease into the offsite week immediately as we arrived. The onsite staff were all very accommodating and friendly, especially Chris, Jason and his wife. The area of Tannersville during the week can be a bit sleepy so there will be limited lunch options, but they are all so good (Pantry on Main, Fellow Mountain Cafe, Last Chance Cafe) and the activities are all outdoor based but you can't pass up a team trail walk nearby (Huckleberry trail) or a more challenging hike at Kaaterskill falls. We had the type of experience that you have no choice but to leave a 5-Star review! The owners and staff truly put their heart and soul into this place, and it shows. Amazing service, amazing decor, amazing food and overall an amazing stay. They went out of their way to accommodate our needs, including opening up the lounge for our engagement photos without prior notice (the decor was too cool not to ask!), and even made our dog feel at home! My fiancé and I came upstate to take our engagement photos and Hotel Lilien was near some of the destinations we wanted to check out like Kaaterskill Falls. The hospitality of this hotel was exceptional! Every detail, it felt like home. The main room with the bar and fireplace was so cozy, yet luxurious and always toasty. The food and drinks were great, the owners are always on site which shows how much they care! If you’re looking for a one of a kind experience; this hotel is awesome! Added bonus was being able to bring our puppy because they have a couple dog friendly rooms! The location is near all the best spots like Prospect, Phoenicia diner, Fred’s donuts, a ton of parks and the falls; etc. We will be back hopefully in the summer or fall!

Lilien was the perfect quiet getaway for my fiancée and I to celebrate our engagement! Quiet, quaint, and absolutely beautiful, our room was lovely with a picturesque view of Hunter Mountain, while the lobby/lounge/library/bar was cozy as anything and a perfect relaxation spot for an evening in or a great drink! The food was also delicious, and served by some of kindest staff we encountered on our trip. Would absolutely recommend Hotel Lilien for couples, friends, or families looking to stay in the cute town of Tannersville.

Me and my husband found Hotel Lilien on a google search for our 7th anniversary trip and had an amazing experience right from the start! The owner David generously upgraded us to a beautiful and cozy suite that we loved. The entire family and friends operated staff was incredibly kind and inviting. Chris’ service in the bar/restaurant was top notch and the food was delicious (we may have an obsession with the cookie skillet). Pictures do not do the hotel, rooms, and ambiance justice! The main gathering rooms provided a great mix of relaxation, games, and lounge areas. My husband and I mentioned that if we lived in the area we’d be frequent guests to the restaurant because we enjoyed the vibe so much. Thank you so much for an incredible stay! We will be back!

This hotel was ideal for a few day-getaway with my wife in December. The service by both the owners and the AM waitress were top notch. David made sure our stay was up to expectation and succeeded! Chris, at the bar, was so personable and professional. He did his job well. The restauraunt lounge was cozy, comfortable, and vibe-approved. Perfect feel for a nice night in, with both a pool table and a game room only steps away! We visited Hudson (40 minutes away) and Hunter Mountain to ski (5 minutes away) and were not disappointed. The location is great to explore the area, and there are even a few dollar stores & grocery markets within minutes for all your needs. Would recommend this spot to any couple looking for a romantic getaway!

If I could give this place 10 stars I would!! This hotel is totally unique and has so much character. The food: AMAZING! Get the carrot salad, fried chicken sandwich, and fries! The drinks: even more amazing! I am still dreaming about The Evil Twin. The ambience and hospitality: unbelievable! From the moment you walk through the door the staff truly makes you feel like you are at home. Also, the location can't be beat! It is super close to the downtown area which is filled with adorable shops, bakeries and of course skiing. But honestly you could not even leave the hotel and just sit in the library or by the fire with a book and a cocktail and you would be very very happy you picked this spot. I look forward to coming back here again soon!

My husband and I stayed at Hotel Lillian over the Thanksgiving holiday. I found the hotel to be so charming with a beautiful setting. from the moment we arrived we felt a very warm vibe and very welcome there. Our room was very cozy and I didn’t wanna wake up because the mattress was so comfortable, I am a mattress snob. I want to give a special thank you to Keira who served us breakfast. you were charming and so nice it’s very rare that I leave a review however, you really deserve this we will be back. Thank you.

We visited Hotel Lilien for our company offsite. All of of us had our own unique but lovely, spacious rooms. The communal living room area by the fireplace was the perfect way to start and end each day. The innkeeper and owner took such incredible care, we really appreciate their service and kindness. We definitely recommend!

My husband and I were looking for a romantic getaway in upstate New York and Hotel Lilien absolutely delivered. The hotel is cozy and beautiful and everyone we encountered was extremely kind and welcoming. Our 3rd floor king room was spotless and so comfortable with beautiful picture window overlooking the Catskills. The cocktail bar and lounge was a great time with delicious drinks and a fun atmosphere. The complimentary breakfast was also a great addition to our stay and hit the spot before our trip home. The town center of tannersville was a short drive away and hunter mountain is only about a 10-15 min trip. I highly recommend booking a room at Hotel Lilien.

My wife Michelle and I recently stayed there the weekend of November 10-12, 2023 for our 10 year wedding anniversary as she had won a 3day/2 night stay and $150 food & beverage credit on Instagram. From beginning to end, our experience was EXCELLENT!!! From the minute we set foot on the property, Keira at the front desk was super warm and very accomodating. She even let us know that the hotel had a little gift waiting for us when we got to our room. Chris, who greeted us in the lounge/bar area was very engaging and friendly and went above and beyond to ensure that my wife and I were happy and comfortable when we sat down to sample some drinks and small bites. Isabella was another bartender that we met who was really sweet. The food was STELLAR and the drinks were absolutley AMAZING!!! We highly recommend the charcuterie board, the brisket tacos 🌮, and the French fries 🍟 with cilantro aoili dipping sauce. The campfire themed dessert is also worth trying. 😋👍🏾 The hotel has a very cozy and intimate feel overall and is the perfect location to reconnect and fully relax with that special someone. We will definitely be going back soon.

Stayed here for a work-vacation with my wife’s birthday. The hotel lobby is picture perfect with a wonderful bar/lounge area on the ground floor. We’d spend our mornings and evenings playing scrabble over coffee or drinks. The rooms are cozy and comfortable. The breakfast was limited to two options, but filling and good. The WiFi is solid. I was able to take multi-person video calls over the WiFi without any trouble and other high bandwidth tasks. Shout out to the staff @ Hotel Lilien. Kiera and Chris were fantastic!

Visited Hotel Lilien for a 5 day weekend in the fall. It was such a lovely time, it feels like home. My wife and I used it as our home base to go hiking, and visit the area as well as have a business retreat. The food and service was so accommodating and nice. We met the owners and were able to get the entire history of the building and how they renovated it into the excellent hotel that it is today. Looking forward to getting back here and visiting again during the snow season.

I had a wonderful experience at Hotel Lilien. The staff was friendly and the location near Hunter town was perfect. The room was cozy and had a unique style, which added to the overall charm. It was the ideal place to celebrate our first anniversary.

The hotel is incredible! The staff is amazing and just wonderful to work with. All of the meals were delicious! If you want a great stay, in super cute rooms, where the staff takes care of literally everything this is the place to go. We thoroughly enjoyed the fire inside the lounge, comfy furniture, playing pool, chess, checkers, and the fire pit outside. They go above and beyond and keep everything simple and meaningful. 10 out of 10. Jason…you rock dude!!!!

Just finished my stay at the hotel. Holy cow was I blown away by the beautiful decor and amazing hospitality. We took a bus into town that dropped us off a few hours before check in. We called the hotel and let them know. They immediately accommodated and prioritized getting our room ready for our arrival. Another night we went to dinner late and they literally reopened the kitchen to make sure we had a meal before bed! The grounds are beautiful and the hotel itself will make any interior design enthusiast drool! The entire hotel is decorated with the most charming vintage pieces. You can't look in any direction without spotting something beautiful from the books, to lamps, to artwork, to plants, to their amazing jukebox machine. This is the perfect place to go for a re-set I cannot wait to come back! Thank you Chris for working so hard to make sure we were comfortable and welcome!

My boyfriend booked a weekend getaway at Hotel Lilien for my 25th birthday and it might be my favorite gift yet! We stayed at Hotel Lilien in Oct 2022, right around the time it opened. The staff was so welcoming, room was clean (even had Brooklinen bedding...my fav) and the space was so cozy. Already itching to go back!!

Wowowow!!🤩 What a stunning and delicious bar and restaurant. I didn’t stay there—full disclosure—but stopped in with a friend for dinner and were gobsmacked by how gorgeous the interiors were, fully embracing the old bones of the inn + mountain vibes. But the dinner and cocktails were also wonderful. I will definitely be back.

My husband and I stayed at Hotel Lilien this summer and I cannot stress how wonderful of an experience it was. The hospitality gave us the warm and fuzzies (Chris was amazing), the rooms and communal areas were so considered and cozy, and a great location (we even walked next door for dinner one night). All in all an absolute pleasure of a stay.

Our daughter selected Hotel Lilian as her wedding venue, after exploring other properties throughout the Hudson Valley. As a professional wedding planner, myself, I sometimes can be overly critical. Hotel Lilian exceeded every expectation. The staff bent over to make every request happen throughout our 3 night stay. Although we brought in an outside caterer, Hotel Lilian's staff aided in any way they felt necessary, even when not asked. The backyard of Hotel Lilian was the perfect beautiful setting for our daughter's intimate wedding. Indoor dancing allowed us to extend the evening. Thank you, Jason and Daniel for making this happen!

The staff at Hotel Lilien made us feel welcome and at home from the moment we arrived. Specifically, Chris became an instant friend and resource and was always willing to lend a hand. It was a pleasure meeting Jason, learning about his background and experiencing his hospitality. And Anthony makes amazing cocktails and is great to chat with while you're enjoying the historic bar. The property is gorgeous and the rooms well appointed. The bathrooms were large and the shower products excellent. Hard to imagine finding a better place to stay in the region.

Hotel Lilien is a true gem in the Catskills that won’t be a secret for much longer. Chris, Jason, Anthony and the rest of the staff will make you feel like you’ve known them forever from the moment you walk in. The inn has been beautifully restored but retains all of the original charm with modern amenities. Sipping a cocktail on the porch or playing billiards in the evening were a few highlights. Our room was great and rather large for the area. The bed was like sleeping on a cloud! Don’t miss breakfast and be sure to check out Nat’s next store. Enjoyed the nature walk with Chris too. It’s evident how much the “Lost Boys” love what they do. We hope to return soon so we can experience the inn in different seasons. No doubt they have something special here!

I so desperately wanted to love this place but was ultimately left disappointed. We decided to stay here based on the glowing reviews and social media presence this inn has. Every single review talks about how fantastic this place is mentioning the location of Tannersville, renovated property, hospitality, bedroom comforts, and bar/restaurant. Me and my wife had a much different experience than what was written by these reviews, and I want to try and be as fair as possible. Let me start with the positives. The hotel property is quaint, things are clean, and the bar/restaurant area is charming. The pool area is also nice with nice lounge chairs and umbrellas. Now the negatives. First, is the check-in experience. We arrived on a Wednesday around 3:30pm. There was no one at the desk, and there were no pre-instructions on how to check-in to the room. They left a number to call and left a key in the door of our room. We were unsure of what amenities were available and were really looking forward to asking about things to do around Tannersville, good hiking places, and to get other local recommendations. According to their booklet we found in the room, someone is at the reception desk “between 8am to 10pm (Sun-Thurs closing at 9pm) to help make your Hotel Lilien stay more comfortable.” We only saw someone at the reception desk one brief single time our stay Wednesday to Sunday. Also, the bar and restaurant is closed Wednesday, but the booklet states “we wont let you go thirsty: see reception if you’d like a drink.” Since no one apparently works the reception, that was not possible. Second, is the room. While the room we stayed in was clean, the hotel does not do housekeeping every day. They claim to do a “room refresh” every third day. When our third day came, we received no room refresh. In addition, the towels provided are extremely thin, and they only provide you with 2. We had to call the provided number (since no one was ever at reception) to get new towels a few times during our stay. Third, is the bar/restaurant. While it looks great, the service is lacking and took a long time to order. The man who works there mostly sat on the couch with his headphones on. The menu also only has 3 entrees. One entrée I tried to order was not available, so really, they had 2 main offerings on their menu. Last is just the general offerings of the hotel. They really market a Saturday poolside event for spritz cocktails. When we went to the pool, there were not spritz offerings but instead wine and canned beer. They also state that they are poolside from 1pm-5pm which there was someone there maybe 45 minutes before they left. There was a large group at the pool who kept having to go to the bar to get things since no one was there. When I went inside to get another drink, no one was inside at the bar. If you are looking for a vacation that is Instagram-able, this is your place. If you are looking for a vacation stay with substance or service, this is not it.

Last week my wife and I stayed at Hotel Lilien for 2 nights. When we checked in we were exhausted and in need of a romantic getaway. After 2 nights at this hotel we left rejuvenated and our relationship became rekindled. This hotel is a perfect getaway in an amazing location of Tannersville. Around the area of the hotel are great shops, hikes, restaurants and hip activities. Inside the hotel, the service was personalized and each guest had a similar feeling of being fortunate to find this new gem of the Catskills. The hotel had style and felt like much thought was put into the decor, furniture and lighting. Once night we ate at the hotel restaurant and grabbed drinks at the bar. On the menu was a perfectly prepared maple carrot salad and home-ade French fries. At the bar, my wife and I each had mezcal and tequila cocktails that were refreshing and not overaly sweet. We look forward to coming back again when we need a recharge.

The property is beautiful, the owners and staff are very friendly, the rooms are comfortable and spacious, and the food and drinks were all delicious! I would recommend staying at this hotel in a heartbeat, and I hope to return soon!
