Food was great. It was in a style reminiscent of some chinese restaurants that were in lansing a few decades ago. I like it, and my trip was therefore nostalgic. I recommend triple harvest and wanton soup.

Szechuan chicken came with soup, chips and fried rice. The portion of rice was very less and the curry was not that good, full of carrot, less chicken. Service could be improved, because she mistakenly took an extra order of fried rice. Fried was good, came with crab Rangoon which was tasty.

I have NEVER encountered a such rude service as the woman who answers the phone ( it’s usually the same person). This time we asked for a to-go order, and we politely asked if we could have some freshly made egg rolls (This is because we have gotten ones before that had obviously been sitting around). Before I could even finish placing the order, she started yelling at me that I better come RIGHT NOW if I wanted fresh egg rolls. I told her I was on my way (about 3 minutes away). She kept yelling to come right now. I then asked if I could finish ordering, as we wanted to order some rice. She got even angrier and said “No! I don’t like that you ask for fresh egg rolls and want to order more food! I DON’T LIKE THAT! I was astonished. She said it about two-3 more times, very nasty. Finally I calmly told her I would not be ordering ANY food now or ever again. I’ve been a customer for 25 years and even for just pick up delivery I leave at least a %25-35 tip that SHE gets. Not ever again.

super rude lady at front and food is horrible

My wife and I had diner here a couple of times and I have to say, their food is much better than the Chinese restaurants I used to go to in Milwaukee when I lived there. Both visits the waitress we had was very friendly and made us feel comfortable. We will be visiting as often as we can, I highly recommend.

Really nice Chinese restaurant, good food, service and prices

The orange beef I ordered was awful! Some pieces were so tough you couldn't cut it with a knife and some was so over cooked you couldn't chew.

This was a recommendation from a friend. My son and I dined in and we were greeted nicely. It was not real busy. Maybe about 8 other groups there dining. After we ordered our food, our soup came out quickly and our meals were not far behind. This was a lot quicker than I was expecting. The food was fantastic. The fried rice, the rangoons, and the chicken were all very delicious. I would definitely come back here the next time I am up in Cadillac.

My granddaughter and I had lunch here Friday and it was very good! Finally I found decent Chinese food! We will be back soon!

Tried while in town due to good reviews. Lunch portions were very small, chicken was weird, and the rice was greasey. The crab cheese was good but the rest went in the trash.

Excellent lunch specials. Ordering by phone for pickup is quick and easy and the food is ready on time. Portion sizes are generous. The fried rice is delicious.

I have tried other Chinese food places but always refer back to House of Hunan...it is my best place for Chinese food.

Food is always top-notch! Servers are always super friendly and helpful. Great prices for the huge servings. We always have plenty to bring home. Best choice around!

The egg rolls, orange chicken, sesame chicken and shrimp with vegetables were all really good.

No frills Chinese cuisine. Large menu, good friendly service. Parking lot could be a little rough for wheelchairs. Dinner portions are large enough to take half home depending on your appetite.

Food was outstanding the best I have had in a long time. Prices are great and staff and service was excellent. Fryed rice ,soup ,egg rolls very very good!! The restaurant was very clean also. We found our best Chinese place to eat.

Had lunch here today! The vegetable soup and wonton soup is delicious! Sesame Chicken and Sweet and Sour Chicken- wonderful. Fried dumplings and teriyaki appetizers prepared just right. The hot tea is a must have as well. Family of three plus appetizers for lunch $45. Definitely coming back. Waitresses super polite and friendly.

Tried this place out and wasn’t overly impressed. The inside is lovely and the service was good. I ordered the wonton soup and didn’t care for the meat. The egg rolls were dry, but the crab Rangoon were pretty good.

We try to go here every Sunday we possibly can for the buffet. The food, soup, and tea are 10/10 compared to everywhere else we've gone in the area and we spend barely over $20 for two people for everything.

I am sad that i have to post this review. I hope someone at Hunan sees it. My husband went to use the bathroom and it was filthy, not oops someone had an accident but years of filth. He had to walk by trays and trays of dirty dishes and swarms of flies to get to the rest room. There was no hot water in the bathroom and nothing to dry your hands. The carpeting throughout the restaurant is filthy and worn. All of the booths are held together by duct tape. I normally love this place. The eggroll was good, soup was cold. Please Hunan get your act together!

This meal was a take out order, while up in Cadillac for VA appt. Stop there because we were hungry. 😆 🤣 I do want to say this was the first Chinese/ Hunan restaurant that didn't offer the soup with lunch combos to go. Yes, I have been to too many Chinese restaurants to name throughout the US, and this was the very first. I love having egg roll and egg drop soup with my combo meal, I guess this is a no-go/ not offered at this place 😞 it was ok for this Army veteran. Not impressed. Sorry

Their egg drop soup beats any that I have ever had I think. It had a very full body taste too it. My waitress was very on the ball and gave very good service.

Worst Chinese I’ve ever had. One dish was so over salted we couldn’t eat it, and the other was just average in every way.

Food was great. Service was slow and the girl was constantly answering the phone and coming to our table while on the phone. The building and parking lot are dated and showing their age. Inside could use a really good cleaning and brightening up.

I have mixed reviews, we walked in and the lady asked how many walked us to our table and kept walking, we had to seat ourselves... The waitress on the other hand was AMAZING! Her name was Diane and she was very good at what she did. She never let our cup get empty. The food was ordered and at our table fast. Our service was outstanding. Hope to get her every time! Thank you again, Diane...... Ok back to the place itself. They had Pepsi cups but coke products. The silverware was old and very scratched making it look dirty. The place itself was cozy and relaxing. P.s... The price was way worth the rest 🙃 thank you House of Hunan for the great food and service.

The best Chinese in Cadillac. Period.

Was in town for a wrestling tournament. I got my meal, and 3 other meals for the kids and ate it there. It was decent. I got my wife a meal to go and drove over an hour home for her to open it and they forgot the rice that was supposed to be included and her egg roll. Wasnt very pleased!!!

New to the area, I spend a lot of money on the local restaurants. Friends from Traverse City came to visit and we called house of hunan, the lady that took my order was very rude an unprofessional!! She just lost a good customer ,terrible customer service and actually yelled at me on the phone

My wife and I's go-to restaurant when we are in Cadillac. We both love the Mongolian Beef. House of Hunan NEVER disappoints!

Best Chinese food I found since leaving grand Rapids mi

The food is great. As with 99% of places portions of decreased. Dine in lunch places are what we usually get. Sunday buffet is wonderful!!! It's a bit cool in the restaurant so if you tend to be chilly bring a sweater. Bathrooms aren't the newest/cleanest. The whole place could use an update. With that said, the food is great. You won't be disappointed.

Definately better than the first time I went. This time the egg rolls didn t taste like old grease. Still reserving judgement. Now I know why I haven’t been back. The egg rolls are horrible! Double wrapped the inner wrap doughy and tough, almost no filling. I’ll never be back.

The soup tea and crab Rangoon were delicious. All of our meals were okay. They lacked flavor and could use a smaller chop on the vegetables. The leftovers were better the second time around. Service was very great.

I really enjoy the servers and hostess, Molly and Summer are a ton of fun and the hostess jokes with me in a pleasant way. Since it is a restaurant I should mention that the food is darn good too!

Good Chinese food at a reasonable price. The food will vary between visits, I assume they have more than one cook. Waitresses are friendly and attentive. It would be nice if the owner would smile and engage. The interior is getting worn out and needs updating.

The food was very good and the prices were reasonable, if the service was a little more organized this would have been 5 stars. If you are in the area I encourage you to give them a try, the service was a little out sorts when I was there but to be fair we also had a large group.

Had hot and sour soup. Fantastic, fried rice excellent, tea was unbelievable. I had just rode 22 miles and I was really hungry but it was so much better than I expected.

The food here was very good and we both enjoyed the meal and the friendly server. Building and parking lot could be upgraded for more appeal. One can choose the buffet or order from the menu which was our choice.

I like Asian buffets when traveling, because they are fast and you get what you want. This place was recommended. I walked in and asked for the buffet. No buffet today. Fair enough. I asked if there was one the lady could recommend. She said I could look at Google.

Wow! Great Chinese food! I had chop suey- fill of vegetables and the flavor was fantastic. My husband had General Tao and he loved it as well.

Everything we ate was yummy and hot. My boyfriend never wants to go out for Chinese but thanks to this place he will now.

We came here for lunch on the recommendation of staff at the hotel where we stayed. Our server was very friendly and polite. The food was not good at all. Everything tasted very greasy and a little off, except for my daughter's lol mein, which didn't taste like anything at all. If I ever pass through Cadillac again I will definitely find somewhere else to eat.

Got the sweet and sour shrimp. Took the breading off and there was a string of shrimp. Very disappointed. Won't get that again.

Been eating here for years. Love their orange chicken that's not deep fried. Crab Rangoons are also a favorite. Only draw back was it was very chilly eating there.

The food was very good to excellent, however the building could use a good cleaning and remodeling, my only reason for not giving a 5. Portions are big, food is very tasty, and service was excellent. If you’re looking for good Chinese food in Cadillac, you’ve found it.
