A lot of good food for a great price

I had on the blue durag, blue shirt, and sunglasses at dinner time around 8pm on Saturday 8/25/24 just so you all know this is me :) my waitress with the teeth of Donkey and face of Shrek (you’ll know her when you see her now) was trash. She would look at my white gf every time I spoke as if she couldn’t understand MY English. No entiendes negritas senora? Buddy with the mullet and rectangle glasses at the register, I asked you for 2 boxes, you sent them back with someone else after 10 mins. You scared of me too and why it take so long? I’ll answer for you, since you’d run passed our table to yours every time and back 😂 Food and drinks were much too far below subpar to be acting like that at a restaurant on a corner in a shaggy shack with no parking. Was it still funny when you saw $00.00 as your tip?

Delicious, authentic Mexican food.

This place was fantastic! One of the best Mexican joints I've visited in the Midwest. The food was fresh, reasonably priced, and came in large portions. I’ll definitely be coming back the next time I'm in town! I got their spicy Burrito with carnitas!

Very good food and very nice people

My 1st time trying this place. I got takeout and everything was delicious. Next time I will dine in to try the margaritas. They looked huge and delicious. Very reasonably priced and nice amount of food.

Great mexican restaurant with great service and food selection

Honestly, the best Mexican food I have ever had. I am vegetarian and i has the veggie fajitas. They were incredible. They added potatoes and nopales, and the sauces were delicious. (Especially chipotle sauce) I ate every little bit of the food. The staff was friendly and service was great!

It's small, but precious. They have homemade tortilla chips. The food is really good, too!

Best Mexican experience in the area. Just like real city place, colorful and real. Inside or outside, nice place. It's been a few weeks, I think they gave us 3 different, and rather unique, sauces for our chips. And Pico.

This cozy restaurant can get pretty busy on weekends, and the service might be a bit slow with the occasional mix-up in orders. As for the food, it’s decent but not exceptional. The dishes are well-portioned and satisfy basic cravings, but they lack the standout flavors or unique touches that make a meal truly memorable. If you’re looking for a quick bite in a pleasant setting, this place will do the job, but it doesn't offer anything particularly special. In a city with many great dining options, there are definitely better places to explore for a more remarkable culinary experience. However, if you’re in the neighborhood and enjoy a friendly, relaxed atmosphere, this restaurant could still be a pleasant stop. Just keep in mind that there are other spots around that might leave a more lasting impression on your taste buds.

Great authentic Mexican place. Not as fancy as some of the other places in the city, but didn't let that fool you, the food is some of the very best. Very reasonable prices and everything is excellent. They've expanded their vegetarian options too, which is nice for those who are looking for that.

Well when I observed the scowl from the waitress when I entered I should have turned around,but I didn't think it represented the cooks. I ordered 2 Sope ,which I did receive in a timely manner...however it was tasteless... absolutely with no seasoning, and when I called to let them know of my displeasure...I was told thanks for telling them, they had no response to what I said, and I'm quoting....but they have my money. No offers to make it right, so clearly they could careless about a return visit from me. I have eaten here before...10 years ago....pre- covid...it was good THEN. Wonder what's changed

The place in the Champaign-Urbana that I most miss. Their salsas are great and I love their huaraches.

They have good food but their customer service is HORRIBLE. I've decided not to return to their restaurant for this reason. Greet and acknowledge customers who are giving you their money. Just RUDE.

Great little Mexican place. I've had something different every time I've been here and it's all good. Would have been five stars, but parking is an absolute nightmare. The parking lot is tiny and there aren't even many places to park on the street nearby. But again, the restaurant itself is amazing.

Great food. The pork and cactus in salsa verde is some of the best I have had. I hear there, menudo is very good.

I finally had a frozen margarita. A taste that can only be found in America. It was a little small and cramped, but the food was perfect. The fajitas were also delicious.

Found this gem yesterday! I'm pretty sure this was the best chips and salsa at a Mexican restaurant so far! Great food and definitely will recommend and return!

Been coming here many years. Even before they had liquor license. Lovely family-owned restaurant. Great Mexican food. I'm addicted to their salsas. Their chili rellenos are the best that I've had. Their fajitas Moreleon are wonderful. Really enjoy the Gorditos alpastor. A nice thick corn tortilla. I'm especially fond of dining outside under their gazebo. Always feels like I'm on vacation there.

I ordered a sandwich with fries to take out. The fries are freshly made. They put them in the foam box and I found that at home the box was "soldering" by the fries. See the attached photo.

Torn between a 3 and 4. Never had a huarache before, but I was expecting it to be softer? But I dont know what I’m talking about. Wasn’t a fan. The asada taco my wife and I thought was very good but the al pastor taco was overcooked and dry. The complimentary chips were good though. Prices reasonable too

Little place. Great Mexican food. Service was fantastic. The chips and salsa were fantastic,best salsa I've had in a long time. No heat to the salsa , but sauces were on the table. Great spicy margarita.

My wife and I eat here fairly regularly since this place is not very far from our home. The service is wonderful, and the recipes are quite different from all the other Mexican restaurants in the area. The different take on a lot of dishes makes their food stand out from the others. Their horchata is great. Overall, this is our favorite Mexican joint in C-U.

Excellent food and service, even if the location is a bit small. It also won't break the bank. The lunch portions are plenty big enough for most appetites. The chori pollo is my go-to, and it's fabulous!

Awesome restaurant! They accommodated group of 14 seamlessly on the patio. Food is great- highly recommend the birria taco platter. Also get the Cantarito drink!!!

The breakfast food was so nasty. I told the manager I didn’t like it and he threw a pen at me infront of my small children and called me the B word. He kicked me out and told me never to come back into his restaurant. He also referred to me as “You people.” And I’m black.

Huaraches Moroleon is the best restaurant in town. I like the suiza sauce a lot. I would love to come back during breakfast.

Great food, good variety, and reasonably quick service while the food is really hot. It's popular for a bunch of good reasons & I highly recommend it for a tasty Mexican dinner.

Good food exellent service. Small and no enough parking

We decided to get some food to go, in the back ground I had to take another listen , what do I hear , a bunch of foul language coming from behind the counter. I was appalled couldn't believe they were cussing like that in a public place like a restaurant. Just sad first time and last time for us. To hear the vulgar f bomb multiple times. It seemed as it was natural for the 2 behind the counter. Well that was our experience.

Food was absolutely amazing! It was hot and fresh and had a very authentic taste. Service was excellent. The price vs the quantity/quality is AMAZING. Huge portions!

Oh my god. The tacis were so incredible! And so was the margarita. And the bacon jalapeño cheese dip! Im a customer for life!!

It’s alright. I think it caters to palettes that like less seasoned food and flavors that aren’t as strong. I personally find their food on the bland side.

Service is friendly and the Mexican food is great! Authentic little restaurant. Fajitas are good, and a good value.

I used to like this place until I found a fly in my green sauce. Servers only offered to change the sauce. Of course I didn't want more. Restaurants should be mindful of details like this.

Nice little place in Urbana. They were great at accommodating a group of 10, it was a little tight but they made it happen for us and we were so grateful. They also did split the checks for us which was great because it made things so much easier. Our server was Braulio (or something with a B) and he was so nice too.

The steak doesn't taste seasoned. But everything else was good.

A nice tex-mex restaurant with service that has been friendly everytime. I highly recommend the Chorizo/Chipotle queso for starters.

Carne asada is terrible.....2 slices of thin beef....NO spice and certainly not marinade. Just tough and terrible....sorry....I never send out reviews except something is that bad.

Service was fantastic. The food was okay, it wasn't well seasoned in my opinion but it did arrive hot. The chairs weren't clean when we sat down so we had to wipe them out but the table was pretty clean. The atmosphere was family friendly. All staff that we encountered were very attentive. I am not a drinker at all but I did try the mango margarita and it was really good.

The food was absolutely delicious, couldn’t have asked for anything better. The burritos were insanely huge- good serving sizes for the price. The peach & strawberry mimosa’s were amazing. Thank you for a great experience while my bestfriend & i were visiting Urbana!

One of the waiters brought chips to our table then never came back to us. He began to serve the table right near us and we tried to get his attention. We were trying to get someone to take our drink/food order for about 20 minutes until a different person helped us.

Fast , friendly service. Food was great. Place was clean and welcoming. Parking lot is a little unusual. Great place to eat my nephew insists we go here every time we are in town and we all happily agree!

Decent but the sauce on my enchiladas was pretty bland. Definitely had better but this isn't bad. My kid liked their burrito a ton.

I can't say enough about how amazing the food is here. My wife and I had an amazing lunch. We sampled a couple different meat options with tacos. Our main course was the parillada! It came with so much meat! We both ate on it there and two more meals at home. This is the most authentic restaurant in the CU area in my opinion! Do your taste buds a favor and eat here many many times!!!

This is my neighborhood spot! I come here every week. It has a cozy atmosphere, friendly and welcoming staff, and delicious food. I hope this place stays a local gem forever. In the summer, the patio is a great place to enjoy a margarita and tacos outdoors with cooling fans. In the winter, they are always reliably open and I’ve reliably been able to eat here even on national holidays. Always a fan! Highly recommend this place and I always take out of town guests here.

Enjoyed a lunch with family. I had tacos al pastor others had cheese enchiladas and a big burrito. The food was okay and portions were generous, and included complimentary chips and salsa.( Not very spicy.) Our server was very attentive and prompt, and prices are reasonable. Parking is very limited so you may have to park behind the restaurant on the street. They have patio dining as well as inside ... A range of adult beverages are also available. A decent if unexceptionable place for some Mexican food.

Not sure how this place has good ratings. The worse tacos al pastor I have had. Only ate a bite and told them I didn’t like them and still charge them to my check. Horchata is not tasty at all and the carne asada huarache was not good the meat is not good! Not a good experience !!

I’m mad that I’ve lived here for so long and my first visit to Huaraches Moroleon was just this past weekend. I had birria tacos and they were fire!! My friends and I agreed this is the best Mexican joint in CU by far. It isn’t even close. The chips and various picosas and margaritas all rocked too!! Wish the location was better. Regardless, will be back very soon!

A very small place with limited parking but worth it

We’ve eaten here a few times now in the past 6-8 months and it’s the best Mexican food we’ve had in a while. Their spicy margarita is awesome and spicy burrito is one of the best burritos I’ve ever had. Service is great as well. It was very crowded the last time we went there, they asked us to switch tables as a large group was expected and so they wanted to join the tables - it wasn’t a big deal for us as our order still hadn’t arrived but they offered us complimentary guacamole and salsa.

Took 30 minutes to take our order and both were wrong 🤷‍♂️

This place is 🔥🔥🔥🔥 Easily the best Mexican restaurant in Champaign Urbana. Chips are hand cut and made fresh. Salsa, guac and queso are amazing. There menu is pretty decent sized. Not as big as places like el toro or dos... But those places aren't near as good either. We love sitting outside on the patio on a nice day/evening. One of our favorites in the area for date night.

The food here is the absolute best Mexican in the area. They ALWAYS hit it out of the park. I could eat there every day

The pozole was very ordinary. The hominy was canned, the pork was not cut up, the accompanying items were stingy and weirdly included shredded lettuce. Hopefully other entrees are of a higher standard.

Great prices and convenient. Everything I tried here is pretty decent, nothing out of this world, but your standard Mexican food. Good salsa options, and cheap drinks.

Always love this place. Just went last week, and I took my co-workers to lunch here. Though, next time we might aim to do lunch at a different hour besides noon on Friday, it was busy. This place has the right to be busy. Legit Mexican food. They have some options that other hard- core Mexicans know what it's all about. I'm talkin' tripas, lengua etc... 😋 Yummy, yummy in my tummy!
