Literally no meat in my eggroll, broke it all open just to see cabbage. No silverware napkins or receipt was given also they missed an item that I tried to order. No seasoning and the food was cold, just around 2 hours before close. Usually ANY Chinese is at least edible, this I had to spit out!

The best Chinese food in town 😎 Mongolian beef, Fried dumplings, and Singapore rice noodles are my to go dishes!

The portions were large and the food was good. It was a very clean environment and the staff was friendly. For around 20 bucks a person, it was well worth it.

This is THE best Chinese food! The service is exceptional, the food is fresh and delicious and the prices are insanely affordable. We travel from Lansing to eat here because we love GOOD Chinese food! Worth the trip!

Staff are very friendly. Place is clean. However the food is fairly terrible. The shrimp and broccoli was horrible, it’s boiled and lacks flavor. The walnut shrimp has a very strange flavor and sauce. The fried rice is ok. Crab rangoons are just ok. Food really lacks flavor.

I ordered takeout. I asked if they could make my Kung pao spicy. I've never had Kung pao anywhere where it wasn't spicy. It was so bland. It was good, though. The owner was nice on the phone, and the server was kind too.

We placed a togo order tonight but it was not good. The octopus balls were not cooked properly and the beef lo mein had no flavor. The small restaurant atmosphere is nice but the food isn't. Not planning to return.

Some of the best food I’ve ever had in the KCMO area. The service was incredibly helpful and attentive.

I've had Hunan Garden before and it was good, but today.. 11-15 it is nearly inedible. Spent $60 and are throwing out at least $35 worth of food. The beef with broccoli has almost no flavor in the sauce while the broccoli tastes farty, and I love broccoli! The lo mein is just spaghetti noodles and again no flavor at all. The paper wrapped chicken seemed mealy and kind of sour, I spit it out. The beef stick was tasty though and the crab rangoon are fine.. but not my favorite. Very sad dinner for me today. :( I'd love to try them again, but maybe 1 thing at a time so I don't waste too much money.

My first time Ordering from this place. We order beef and broccoli , chicken lomein and orange chicken. Did not taste good ,all the food we order were super blend has no taste . The orange chicken look sick, didn’t taste like orange chicken. I would not recommend this place..

After coming from from the zoo we wanted to try a new place. It was small but friendly. Clean tables and attentive friendly staff. For the smaller size the establishment had more patrons inside than I expected. Others came and picked up orders. I enjoyed the different beer selections. Had to try all 3 for science :). For the meals they were quick to serve and filling. To make it better I'd suggest some pictures on the menu or a better description of what all comes w the items. We ordered extra rice not knowing it came w rice lol. BUT I love the rice so I had more to eat at home ♡.

The orange chicken smelt like plastic. Drove about 30 minutes to get the food because the last time it was so great! This time it was totally the opposite!

Caveat - I have been here only one time but it was a great experience and I will go back! I ordered online and the food was ready on time. The staff was very nice at pickup and the food was good! A new place on my lunch list!

Probably the last time I'll be eating there. I used to enjoy their lunch deals but they have gotten extremely greedy with their proteins. I ordered Orange Chicken. What i got was orange chicken flavored cornstarch clumps. Three small pieces of actual meat coated in cornstarch, the rest were clumps of the cornstarch breading. Disgusting and an insult to loyal customers. If you are too cheap to serve me actual food then I will drive the extra couple miles to China Hut , same lunch specials and I've never been given cornstarch only to eat. Not the first time this has happened but it will be the last.

General Tso's Chicken was cooked waaaay too long. Had to exchange for another dish. Couldn't cut or chew it. Today went back for Sweet and Sour Pork. Tough to eat. Don't think I will return.

I want to rate this a 3.5, but alas I cannot with the current star scheme. The service was kind and friendly and the dining area on the intimate side. Booths or tables were available and the lighting was good. The menu was a little limited, but the portion sizes were definitely sufficient. The menu does not announce that fried rice comes with your entree nor does it give the option for steamed rice. All and all not a bad spot. We'll probably visit again if we're in the area mainly due to the kind service.

I highly recommend this place! The food is all fresh and very flavorful. You can tell they keep the place clean and portions are perfect! The portions are pretty typical could get two meals from the dishes my wife and I got. I got the general Tso chicken and my wife got the sweet and sour chicken.

Hunan Garden is a wonderful lunch location. Food is great and fairly priced!

Go here if you want your 70$ order to look like a 25$ meal. Never again!!! This is not the same as Hunan Garden in Kearney or Liberty. If you want better food go there you'll never return here again. I can't believe this place even stays in business.

So yumtastic I only got an order of crab Rangoon but by golly was it the best thing I’ve eaten all week. Ordered take out, had a short wait time and the staff was super friendly. I will be ordering again

We tried Hunan Garden for the first time today and were very pleased with the food for lunch and the service. I had the Mongolian beef and my wife had the Teriyaki beef. No complaints with any portion of the meal. I had hot and sour soup, egg roll, and crab rangoon also which came with the meal. It was all excellent. We plan on returning frequently.

Ordered for delivery. Their $22 ($19+tax) Mongolian Beef had 2 whole onions and under 4 oz of beef. It wasn't spicy at all. I would not recommend this place. Tonight was our second order to give them a second chance. We won't be back. Do not recommend it at all.

We ordered on doordash for my birthday today. The walnut shrimp tasted past its expiration and overcooked. I had to spit it out & throw away the entire entree. The Lo Mein had a chemical taste to it. I am stunned at the reviews & I feel lied to based on the reviews. There’s no way something this bad can have a 4.6. I’m frustrated because if you use door-dash, you can’t even be refunded. Crab Rangoon was delicious. Thank god something in the order was ok but that was $20 out of the $75 we spent which feels like a complete rip off. I really hope people consider this before ordering from this restaurant.

Whether it's dine in or take out Hunan Garden quality is consistently hot, fresh and delicious. Currently they are only offering takeout to go orders. They, like so many other local businesses are recovering from the impact the 2020-2022 pandemic has had on them. Be assured, their quality and customer service is firmly intact! Still my favorite neighborhood restaurant. Update: They have resumed dine-in service as of August 2022. Update 9/2023: My husband and I stopped in for lunch yesterday which was a first for us. They have over 50 offerings to choose from on the lunch menu. Lunch plates come with an egg roll, crab Rangoon and choice of soup. TBH, we found that the lunch portions are not that much smaller than the dinner entrees at a reasonable price, at the time of this update they were all priced at less than $8.50. Most burger meals would run you more than that and you can bet it wasn't cooked to order! Hunan Garden continues to be our favorite choice for Chinese food here in the Northland.

Place is small, food comes hot. I got the General Tho Chicken, and it was great, spicy and loved it. Not sure if this is for every dinners but mine came with an egg roll and a crab racoon, love if they would give a choice as I am not an egg roll person, but the C.R. was good.

So disappointed, the food used to be delicious, it’s lost flavor and quality..

I have not dined in the physical restaurant, but the owners are always very nice. The egg rolls tasted of an old oil trap and the sauce included was horrible and syrupy. The egg rolls that I buy at Aldi are far better. Furthermore my Kung Pao Chicken was not good. The chicken was tender, but I had to add beef stock and corn starch to make a thicker sauce in my own Wok. Please advise those who cook, that corn starch and extra base makes the flavor and texture. No one wants a watery and tasteless sauce. Fried rice is really good!!!!

Visited this location a few days ago and ordered egg rolls and crab rangoon. The size of the egg rolls seemed small for the price, but the crab rangoons absolutely had no flavor and the filling of the crab rangoons literally only had cream cheese and no imitation crab. I will not be back.

The worst vegetable Lo Mein. Was door dashed on time. The noodles were cooked into a mush that was formed to the shape of the container. There were no added vegetables - there were scrapings of what looked liked left over small broccoli, a few pieces of corn. The flavor of the noodle was of picked corn juice only. No other flavors! Disgusting. Contacted restaurant and was told they would not remake. Even though I had a full container to return.

Personally, I do not recommend. The steamed dumplings I ordered for take out were a rubber texture and the meat inside was undercooked! Super disappointing and I will not return to this location.

The staff was very friendly and attentive to all the tables. The decor is nice and the kitty robot was a delight. The food was very typical Americanized Chinese food. The egg drop soup was standard. The egg rolls were good and my table mates said they enjoyed the grab Rangoon. My General Tso's chicken had a good flavor with the sauce, but there were two things that ruined the dish for me. First, there was way too much sauce. I couldn't eat half of my rice because it was doused with so much of the sauce. It was sweetness overload. Second, the chicken was coated with so much breading that there was barely any chicken. I think that is pretty typical so they can charge such cheap prices. I'm willing to pay more if I can please get more chicken and less breading.

I really wanted to like this place, since the owners seemed so nice. But it seems obvious now that they are cutting a lot of corners. The food is very bland and doesn’t taste fresh. It might have even been reheated. The egg rolls were not crisp- seemed pretty stale- and neither was the crab Rangoon. The best feature was the hot and sour soup, which was better than everything else. The main dish was ok, but I seriously could have prepared it better myself- which is saying a lot considering I don’t run a restaurant. I can’t recall a time when I was so under impressed by a Chinese restaurant. I actually feel bad for them because where is the joy in doing something only halfway? They are missing out on the joy and as a result, so are we.

Amazing find, exceptional service and great quality of food for the price. Their lunch special is generous and delicious. Can't wait to try more dishes.

My go-to restaurant for Chinese takeout! It's the type of place you'll order every Friday for family movie night and build memories around. Their staff is always kind! The food is sound. Their homemade dumplings are my favorite; they're so delicious! It's good that dumplings are small because Human Gardens dumplings will test your willpower as you reach for only one more. The answer to your Chinese food craving in the Northland is Hunan Garden!

New owners and the quality of food went down so much. It’s almost as if they just changed all the ingredients out to cheaper ones. I get things aren’t the same since covid but seriously. So sad this was my go to Gladstone Chinese.

At one time this was one of the best Chinese Restaurants around, not anymore. Everything I ordered today was absolutely terrible. Next time I’ll save gas and my 30 minute drive time and get a frozen dinner from Walmart.

This little place is a favorite of my family's who lives nearby. We ordered takeout for a family lunch. Our order was ready on time and piping hot. The employees are friendly, portions are very generous and prices are very reasonable--especially in light of current trends at most restaurants that seem to be looking for every way possible to nickel and dime their customers. Hunan Garden doesn't do any of that. They just provide a wide menu of traditional Chinese food options that doesn't break the bank. Unexpectedly, this traditional Chinese hole-in-the-wall embraces technology through the use of a robot for tasks like delivering food. If you live near Gladstone, or are passing through, support this local business!

Food is good, just a bit more pricey for the portion size. Use to getting bigger portions of rice and noodles on the side. Service is always amazing, making it one of my local go to spots.

Everyone can have a bad day, so I keep an open mind. But my previous and current orders are both bad, so I cannot order from Hunan Garden ever again. Seventy bucks is a tremendous amount of money to me, and when I spend it on food, it is for a special reason, and this is destroyed by a terrible awful meal. I ordered the Family Dinner for Two, with walnut shrimp and triple delight with crackling rice. Both were bland, terribly bland, they both tasted like canned Chinese food, but not even as much tin can flavor. Seriously - CANNED CHINESE FOOD is what it tasted like. So whatever they are doing now in their kitchen, it surely must include a lot of canned veggies and stuff to ruin it.

I got the Tao's general chicken and the orange chicken after tasting mine I asked my daughter to trade me .looked the same.tasted the same microwaved undoubtedly.slimy outside and rubbery inside. hot in some places totally different temperature in the same piece of chicken threw it away waste of money

Very reasonable price for lunch under 10 dollars, Came with soup and 1 each egg roll and crab Rangoon, I was pleased with my first 3 items, general chicken missed the mark though, not a fan of the powdery seasoning used on it , will be back to try other dishes.

I’ve gotten Hunan Garden a few times. It’s never horrible or anything but today we bought chicken lo mein and to my knowledge, it doesn’t have breaded chicken in it. It doesn’t look breaded but at the same time. It tasted bland and breaded. The crab Rangoon tastes like there’s some sort of expired ingredient in it. Like sour milk. The employees are always so nice (3 stars for their attitude.) I removed 2 stars because of the food itself. Editing to add that the noodles also taste furry somehow.

Paid almost $40 for two boxes and crab Rangoon. Flavorless overpriced Chinese and they managed to ruin ghe grabrangoon I feel robbed
