Wonderful meal- great prices, lunch portion was large, and friendly staff.

I won't say that the food is not tasty, but the service leaves much to be desired. I give it 3+

My friends and I were in route to Nordic Fest ‘24 in Decorah, IA when the hunger pains started being felt. Being from out of town, we had no idea where to eat at in Kearney, so we started searching. We pulled into the parking lot thinking Conrad’s Local Kitchen & Patio was our destination, however, after comparing the signage we heeded the Oriental call and chose Hunan Garden. The choice couldn’t have been better. We walked in and were immediately met with a beautiful banner noting that Hunan Garden has been voted the Best Oriental Restaurant in the Northland for the past 9 consecutive years. Let me say…the vote is for real. We all ordered different entrees. I had Sesame Chicken, which was top notch. Everyone else loved their meals with the exception of the egg rolls. We couldn’t get onboard with them, but that was okay. The water was good and the service was amazing. Our server was so quiet and polite making sure our waters were always topped off. I really liked that little guy who we named Toby. The atmosphere was very still and subdued. When we entered there was a mother and son and that was it, which seemed a bit odd for a restaurant of this fanfare. But in the matter of minutes, the place started filling. We had a great time. To cap it off, we knelt for a picture in front of the impressive fish tank, which contained a fish that literally has the look of a human face. In fact, if you zoom in on our picture, you can see his shiney face. What a way to kickoff our Nordic Fest ‘24 run. So glad we made the stop.

Ordered over the phone. It was an easy process and they got everything right. The food was hot and delicious. Great portions and the pork was flavorful! Thank you!

Buffet was amazing, went at last minute but still they accommodated and got fresh hot food and it was very nice and tasty with good ambiance and pleasant atmosphere, Thank for for all, value for money, strong recommendation to try food from this restaurant

The food was bland rubbery and just gross, it looked like everything was bought from a Walmart and was frozen the place was dirty with stains on the ceiling dirty fish tank I'll be surprised if I don't have food poisoning tomorrow. the service was good tho everyone was nice.

Third time going to this for take out! FANTASTIC General's chicken meal I added pork fried rice and fried dumplings well this was MUCH BETTER than the lunch special yeah it cost 6.00 buck more BUT I DID NOT VARE ABOUT THE PRICE THIS WAS PIPING HOT WHEN I GOT HOME AND SO MUCH CHICKEN can you ever have enough general sauce YEAH YOU CAN 30 instead of 25 fabulous meal well worth it

Best Chinese food I've had in 15 years! We got lo mein, sweet and sour, and sesame chicken and we all shared off each other's portions and enjoyed every bite! The service was very attentive and fast, we waited nor wanted for a thing. Excellent place to eat! Also very reasonable prices. The only criticism I would have is the menu, although it had all the choices I was looking for, did not say what came with our food, so we asked our server and white rice did come with the platters we got, although 2 of us opted for fried rice instead. No big deal. All in all, we stuffed ourselves with great food and had a good time. A win in my book!! Keep up the good work.

WOW! This place is awesome! Food is excellent! Such nice & friendly people! Clean restaurant, clean food! There’s definitely a reason as to why they’ve won so many awards! ~My husband drives a semi across the states & we were parked across at Pilot truck stop,so we just happened along this restaurant & holy wow! Happy happy:)

Food was prepared very quickly and tasted great. Service was decent. The place needs a good deep cleaning though. Carpets were very gross and stained. Exhaust vents in ceiling were black and everything was very dusty. They had a lot of cool knick knacks to look at if you could get past the thick layer of greasy dust on all of it. We were there right before closing and at first the service wasnt great but it turned out ok. The lady checking us out was very kind and friendly and appreciative to have our business. I was wanting to eat at a buffet or Panda express but this was all we could find in the area and it didnt dissapoint. Hit the spot.

Best Chinese buffet in Kearney! Also the only Chinese buffet in Kearney! Friendly staff though and always a good experience. Sometimes the food just seems like it's been sitting on the buffet for a bit too long if you go during down times.

Food was fine. Everything was very sweet. I could taste the sugar crystals in the Honey chicken. To go order was fast and accurate even though they were very busy.

The food is very delicious, the owners are very polite and attentive to our needs. They were constantly bring us refills, checking on us, and making sure the food was okay. I'd highly recommend this place to anyone in the area looking for good Chinese for dinner. Even the prices are good for the area as well. Think twice about getting Panda Express when you can have the real deal for cheaper and get fuller too!

Worst Chinese ive ever had and I'm not one to be picky, their plates are really nasty all are dirty or have hair, and the restaurant itself is just dirty and their fish tank looks like a swamp

Best in Kearney. The service is always good here! The Sunday Buffet is always busy but you can get a seat. I love the buffet but most of the time I like the weekday meals. I like to order off of the menu and then have leftovers! The food is just so good.

We got in right at open. Good egg drop soup, crab ragoon, eggroll, and my chicken lo mein...was fantastic! Great portions. Plenty of water offered. My friend had the General tso with rice. It too was an abundant plate of food. $10 was reasonable for lunch.

One of the worst restaurants ever. Passed off fake egg drop soup and tried to tell me a spring roll was an egg roll, dripping with grease. The beef was left over from lunch and the rice was tasteless. I questioned the lady at the front and told her I wasn't American and grew up with Asian people. She stated this food is passed off to Americans and I simply don't have to pay. I left! Wow, she openly admitted she is playing Americans and most people don't know. Respect the country that you live in.🙁 ☹️ 😔 😟

Food was OKAY....not award winning. They need to CLEAN!!!! IF you have "knick knacks" CLEAN THEM, if you can't clean them get rid of them!!! Literally made me nauseas and stopped eating my meal. I ordered Honey Chicken, it was basically sesame chicken without sesame seeds.... was not what I was expecting based off of other Honey Chicken I've eaten at other restaurants. Also ordered a Pepsi, heard them open a can and dump it into the cup, it was flat by the time it reached the table.

I love this restaurant! The food is hot and made to order. Everything I tried was flavorful and seasoned to perfection. For $8.25 I had a crab Rangoon, egg roll, entree with rice, and choice of soup! What delicious bargain! You can't beat it.

I Have been a regular since 2003.They have a great buffet on Sunday. If you live in there delivery area lucky You.Its only 9 miles from my house so we pick up or eat there. We are lucky to have this restaurant in our Town.

The food was terrible. I bought dumplings, Chicken fried rice, Orange Chicken and General T Chicken. The dumplings had no flavor, and the dough was thick, I took 3 bites of the orange chicken and could not stomach it. I will be driving to KC. The food was very bland it was terrible. I would not go here.

Absolutely great place to eat, Wednesday not too busy, great atmosphere, friendly and attentive staff, food was hot and fresh, no real long wait, next time we're through will stop again.

Had one of the combinations dinners and it was more then enough food. The general could have used a bit more spice in my opinion, but still had flavor. Hubby's broccoli beef was spicy as requested and the sake had more then one refill. The people were kind and courteous and multitasking well

We had a fantastic experience with the restaurant. The food was the best Chinese ever and they delivered it to our hotel in minutes piping hot. Simply the best after a long day of travel. We would highly recommend this place to eat.

I had dinner here earlier this evening. When almost everyone else in town was closed, these folks were open. The food was good and the service was prompt. The portions were quite large and with a total bill for myself including the main dish, an egg roll, egg drop soup, a beer and the tax and tip under $20.00, I would consider it a great value as well.

We were in town and looking for good Chinese food. Given Covid we decided to order take out and were so pleasantly surprised. We highly recommend... they deserve all the awards they have won!

The Food is decent. Doesn't have a lot of flavor. I have had better Chinese. It's kind of pricey. 2 people and our bill was $38.00, and we didn't order anything special. 2 entrees. We only go there because it's close. The staff are very nice. If you call in an order to go, if they tell a time that's when it's ready, no sooner no later.

In town for graduation events at one of the local high schools. The Hunan staff was able to accommodate our family at the end of the night. I highly recommend the family dinner.
