The lunch buffet is very good, and the service is exemplary. Visited today for the first time since the lock down. Food is so wonderful! I'm so glad you guys made it through. I'm so sad to hear they closed Aug 1 2024. You will be missed!

Best Indian food in the area. Very friendly owners that will bring fresh food to your table before it goes to the buffet. Prepare to be chatted up by these super nice folks. Price is slightly higher than I'd like to pay, but it's delicious.

Came here today with the wife, and I must say, the outside leaves you wondering. Once inside, the family is so welcoming and friendly. We had the lunch buffet (lacking in meat choices), but everything we sampled was fresh and hot. Sadly, they have plans on closing down permanently. If you have the chance, go eat there for sure. Keep you hungry instead of going there. Even if you want to try this then instead of ordering all in one better to go for only one item and then leave 😊😊

We have gone here for years! Suki and his family are kind, fast in food prep and service. They are your typical “less is more” kind of Indian restaurant. Great food, reasonable prices, have been around 25 years +!

Don't let the exterior fool you. Don't be deterred by other reviews. This is some amazing Indian food. A true hole in the wall. I ordered the samosa, garlic naan and lamb kofta. The lamb was so tender and the spices were on point. They just need to get their phone number added to Google so newcomers can call them directly to order.

I can't even tell you how many times I have gone here just by myself to treat myself to their delicious food. Buffets are always good. I am the biggest fan of vegetable korma. Best Indian food I have ever had. I'm out of state now so I don't get to eat there anymore but they will always have a spot in my heart.

This place certainly wasn’t much to look at from the outside (honestly a bit sketch), but we enjoyed the food on the lunch buffet and would go back if we had the chance. 😊 Great value.

So delicious. This small family run restaurant is a delight and serves delicious food. Pagodas, Meat Samosas, Lamb Sag all very good and the breads are truly exceptional. Don't miss it.

We were visiting Chattanooga for the wkend and wanted some Indian Cuisine. The food was very tasty, fresh and filling. We ate chicken curry, spinach/potato mix with rice and nun bread. The food and the service was so good we came back the next day!! I would definitely recommend this place

I have gone to this restaurant since it opened a long time back. Always consistent and outstanding food and the service has always been attentive and friendly. Ordering takeout for tonight!

The shrimp biryani was awful , the shrimp was raw and fishy the dish had no tast to it and very small portions for $20.99 , and when i ordered extra shrimp on the dish the employee told me I cant I have to order another shrimp biryani, the garlic naan had a funny tast to it ، like the ghee they used was off and old and had no tast of garlic to it, I would not recomend it to any one , and i would not be going back to order again.

I've only been here twice, but they've really nailed it both times. Rapidly becoming my favorite Indian place in the area, well worth the drive up from Varnell.

Didn't like the attitude of the owner. Food wasn't good. I hate complaining about the food but especially when you are paying for it, you need a better taste and quality. One my friend got stomach upset after eating here. we ate Paneer and it was totally non tasty. I would never go again. No No from me. You have better options available

Their Chicken Tikka masala is my favorite, it’s basic but they make the best one in Chattanooga. Their garlic naan is a 10/10. They are super nice and they always have the best food, I’ve tried plenty of other dishes they have as well and they are all very good and fresh!

Owners are very nice & food was delicious. Very good seasoning. Curry goat was rich and flavorful. Shrimp tandoori was very good as well. Mango Lassi drink was blended well & tasty.

This is now my new favorite "hidden gem" in Chattanooga. I've been driving by this place for years and never thought to go inside and try it out. having never tried Indian food (this is only one of three Indian restaurants in the city) I was invited by a friend for their Lunch Buffett and it was life changing. I see other reviews bashing the dated décor. I didn't notice as my face was buried in the THREE plates I got. Really, all of the chicken was cooked tender and very juicy. They also have a great array of staple sides available while not making it too hard to pick what you want from the spread. if you are in the Brainerd area and want a spot to stop for lunch then this is your best bet. Promise.

Excellent service and food. We came for the lunch buffet with our little nephew and they brought us out fresh naan and chicken when it was ready. The servers interacted with my 1 y/o nephew he spoke to them and made him smile. Would reccomend for delicious food, tea, and amazing service.

Never had a bad meal. Food and service are on point. Admittedly I'm no expert on Indian cuisine but have been to multiple restaurants in various cities in the southeast. The onion chutney alone is worth the price, imo.

This place is amazing the food is delicious, the service is perfect, and to add on top of it all this place looks like straight out of a cantina on Tatooine, I would absolutely recommend this place any day of the week!

Family owned business, very friendly staff, great service and delicious foods, plenty of parking, they serve only during lunch time so when visiting come between 1045am to 2pm every day. Make sure you come hungry too.

11/10 the best Indian food I’ve ever had, the service was impeccable, the food was incredible, the desert? You can probably take a guess at how good at is, It’s hard to describe places like this sometimes so ill just leave it as a PHENOMENAL place to eat, by yourself, with friends, family, doesn’t matter just go, you won’t be disappointed.

REALLY GOOD FOOD. It's mostly serve yourself with the buffet and since I did most of the service myself, I rated it excellent. The Tandoori Chicken was a little dry, but it almost has to be in the buffet environment. Everything else was great. The Korma, the Saag Paneer, the Chicken Tikka, all of it! Sooo good. The gulab jamun is the best.

Really friendly place to eat. Got the buffet and it was good. They have a regular menu as well. This is one of the better places for Indian food in the Chattanooga area I've found so far.

While the food was fine, I only got 4 small bits of chicken in my masala which was very disappointing. Might be better eating in the restaurant and not getting to-go, but wasn't really happy eating mostly rice and sauce.

The food is not too spicy, hence kids can also eat. The service is very good. It's closer to the airport as well. The buffet is worth the money.

Worst Indian restaurant we ever visited. Food was so bad that we couldn't even taste some items there. There were very few varieties to choose from. Chicken was already spoilt, when we informed the owner he said it was due to the Curd they mix. LOL!! This guy is trying to cover up the health hazard. I don't know how the department of health allows such restaurants to operate. I really felt bad for the Americans who wants to taste some Indian food for the first time, and possibly end up here thinking this is how the Indian dishes taste. I recently had the pleasure of ordering carryout from Indian Mahal Restaurant on a Friday evening, and I must say it was a delightful experience. When I arrived at the restaurant, I noticed it was relatively empty, which gave it a cozy and intimate atmosphere. The owner warmly greeted me and made me feel right at home, adding a personal touch to the dining experience. I placed my order, and to my surprise, the food was ready in just 15 minutes. The efficient service impressed me, and I couldn't wait to savor the flavors of authentic Indian cuisine. However, due to some unforeseen circumstances, I arrived home much later than expected, almost two hours later. Despite the delay, I was relieved to find that the food was still piping hot and fresh. The assortment of dishes I ordered was simply mouthwatering. The chicken kadhai had a perfect balance of spices, while the goat kadhai was tender and flavorful. The mutton biryani was fragrant and rich, with each bite filled with a delightful blend of aromatic rice and succulent meat. The chicken tandoori was a true highlight, with its juicy and succulent texture, and the smoky flavors enhanced by the traditional tandoor cooking method. Although the interior of the restaurant could benefit from some modernization, I believe that if nothing is broken, why fix it? The warm and homely ambiance created a welcoming atmosphere that added to the overall charm of Indian Mahal Restaurant. In conclusion, my experience at Indian Mahal Restaurant was a memorable one. Hidden gem! Came for the lunch buffet and everything was hot and fresh. Service was attentive and friendly, and the price was right. Looking forward to returning again for the full dinner menu.

Don’t let the view from the road fool you, this place is amazing. The couple who runs it is so sweet and will provide all kinds of recommendations. We liked it so much we went back again the following week.

This is truly inclusive cuisine compatible with the taste buds of all nationalities-Indians,Americans,Europeans. Each entree is wonderfully cooked with a perfect blend of indian herbs and mild spices fused beautifully into lots of healthy vegetables. The staff is very courteous and go extra lengths to feed you.

My wife ordered chicken korma, and she liked it. I had butter chicken, and I was not impressed. It had no flavor. It was very pricey for mediocre flavor. I gave 3 stars bc my wife liked her food. Otherwise I would have given it 2 stars and only bc it didn't make me sick. If I had gotten sick it would have been 1 star.

We came here twice recently, once with kids. The buffet was available both times. The greatest part is that the manager and/or servers come around with fresh naan and tandoori chicken whenever a new batch comes out of the kitchen! Loved the saag paneer and kheer as well. There was also a lentil dish that I liked (and I usually hate lentils!) Everything is tasty. If you like Indian cuisine, this is the place! The employees were very friendly and happy to see the kids.

Our favorite restaurant in Chattanooga!

Over great authentic Indian cuisine but this was my first time trying indian food. Loved the garlic Nan bread.

The food is on point! OMG! The lamb mango is delicious. Plus the staff was so amazing with our large group! We'll be back.

When we walked in the door at 2:20 pm, a gentleman told us that they close at 2:30 pm. He stated that they were not refilling the buffet and offered to let us see it. We decided to just eat what was on the bar and began serving ourselves. As we were getting our food, he started to lecture us about coming earlier because they wanted to close at 2:30. After we sat down to eat he came to the table after asking if our food was ok, he made the comment: "Come earlier next time please." At approximately 2:30. he came back and asked us to finish getting whatever we were going to get from the bar. Then started lecturing us again about coming so close to 2:30. I then tried to explain to him that a closing time is when you stop letting costumers in and not when you run them off. He attempted to shut me down and did not want to hear what I had to say. I then made my point anyway! As he continued to argue, I told him that we were going to finish what was on our plates and leave. He still wanted to argue his point until I got very angry and stated firmly one last time that we were going to finish our plates and that was enough of this. I paid the bill at 2:37pm and we left never to return. That being said, in all fairness the food wasn't bad. Infact, I would have been willing to go back if we hadn't been treated so rudely.

Food is not authentically Indian. It is an Americanised-knock off of Indian food. Taste was ok. The owners were extremely friendly and welcoming.

We tried buffet and If you’re from south India or looking for spicy food avoid this place. All they had was 2 chicken dishes under non veg in buffet and they were bland. I think it’s a good place for Americans.

I recently dined at the restaurant and was thoroughly impressed with the overall experience. The atmosphere was cozy and warm, creating a pleasant ambience. The owners were extremely friendly and welcoming, which made for a delightful dining experience. I initially ordered the saag paneer and was recommended to try the tandoori roti instead of naan, and I am so glad I listened to the suggestion. The pairing was perfect and the food was absolutely delicious. I couldn't help but overeat due to the authentic and mouth-watering flavor of the Punjabi cuisine. I am definitely planning on returning to this restaurant in the future.

We got two orders of pakoras and 3 orders of lamb and vegetable Samosas. The Samosas were good but the pakoras were extremely bad and I felt that the refried the old pakoras and gave it to us. I called the restaurant and told and they were nice enough to rectify and ask to bring it back which we didn’t want to do since we had to drive 10 -15 mins for food. I feel like if you are paying this much money for pakoras, they need to be fresh. I won’t be back.

A place where you can have authentic Indian cuisine with good hospitality. Must visit for Indian naan (bread) and choole.

The food is delicious. I will say that. But if you order to go food, prepare to over pay to the extreme. We ordered two orders of Tika masala and got only one small container of rice that wasn't even full. The Tikka masala only had a few chunks of chicken. So mostly sauce and barely any rice for $16 each. The least they could have done was give us enough rice for two.

Friends recommended this place and we found it to be every bit as good as our previous favorite Indian buffet, Sitar. The eggplant dish was our favorite.

Went in for Lunch. The place can use some 5S. Lunch buffet menu was very limited.

Always the same high quality, although changes to the menu would be welcome.

Had the lunch Buffett (which I think is the only lunch option) on Monday. Salad, 4 or 5 veggie dishes and two meat dishes including tandoori chicken on the bar. Some other odds and ends. All very hot and tasty with mild seasoning. A container of pepper Sause was on the Buffett if you wanted to heat/spice up your food. There were labels in front of each food container/tray describing the dish, which was a nice touch. I cleaned off two heaping plates. What I enjoyed most is the owner brought hot from the oven buttered naan bread around to the tables, twice while I was there. The service was quick and courteous. Ordered two cups of hot Indian tea, so good on a cold day. While I thoroughly enjoyed all and food and service, the interior is not high end. It was very clean and neat with cloth covering on the tables but nothing to look at. Took off one star for the spartan interior, perhaps a litter tough of me.

Excellent food, heated for Americans, so mild. There's hot sauce on the side if you need it. At lunch you can experience the buffet for only $12.99 plus tax and 7.99 for kids. Highly recommend the buffet if you're there during lunch I'm not always a lover of buffets but this one's not bad at all.
