While visiting the area we wanted a change in menu and this fit the want. The chicken vindaloo was spicy but tasty great atmosphere and excellent service.

IP is great and under NEW management so the food and service is even better than before - and easy location right next to the parking lot opposite the St Francis Hotel just off the plaza . highly recommended!!!!

5 stars are not enough. The food, the service and the atmosphere are amazing. The chicken curry was probably the best I have ever had.... good enough to make me get a Google account and leave a review. Edited to add that they have been under new ownership for the last year and a half, so please take that into account when reading some of the older reviews.

Food was awesome. Very delicious. The lamb korma was amazing.service was a little slow had to keep calling over the server for everything. He was also the only server working so as busy as it was the service was ok. Atmosphere was nice.

We dined at India Palace during our road trip from Phoenix to Santa Fe. They offered a lunch buffet with limited options. As a vegan, I enjoyed the chana masala and aloo gobi, and I appreciated that they provided tandoori roti without butter, even though it wasn't part of the buffet. However, my husband found the chicken items to be stale and not fresh. While the customer service was excellent, I gave the restaurant 3 stars due to the lack of freshness in the food. They should work on improving this aspect.

Don’t listen to the negative reviews, the restaurant changed owners 1.5 years ago and the reviews are outdated. We ate the paneer masala which tasted excellent! Give this place a chance you won’t be disappointed!!

India Palace in Santa Fe is an absolute gem! I had the best lamb korma and chicken curry I've ever tasted. The flavors were rich, authentic, and perfectly balanced. I am writing to express my disappointment with an experience I had at your restaurant on 16thJune 2024. While visiting Santa Fe as a tourist, I asked to use your restroom and was told there are no public restrooms available. I understand the need to manage restroom access, but I was in a difficult situation and hoped for some courtesy, especially in such a popular tourist area. I hope you will reconsider your policy and provide some accommodation for tourists in need. Thank you for your attention to this matter.

Excellent food until last night. We have been regulars of India Palace as for the most part, the food has been authentic and enjoyable. Last night (Sunday, May 19) it was terrible. I'm wondering... did the chef change? The butter chicken was mainly liquid and had too much of a tomato taste (too much paste??). And the lamb korma was not good. Funny thing, we ordered lamb korma the night before. We had left overs and were able to do a taste comparison. Last night's was inferior and tasted odd. If I'm right about the chef, whoever does Sunday nights needs to be re-trained. So disappointing.

The server gave us the wrong food. Felt like if we tried to get the right food it still would of been wrong. We even pointed to what we wanted on the menu. The server didn't seem to know the menu and we tried to order soda multiple times but he walked away so fast and no where to be found. Very disappointed

We visited Santa Fe last week and we found the Indian palace and we tried their buffet menu. They have 4 vegetarian Subjis, rice, rice pudding, samosa, mango custard, and naan. Food taste is so good. As specially naan is so soft. Recommend to visit this place.

Really love the food... usually. Last time they told me they could make the vegetable biryani without adding cheese to it, which is curious that they do that anyway. They said no problem, but then it came with cheese. They then said they would take it back and bring another. Only for it to come back cold and looked to be simply gone over and removed the cheese. Very disappointing. It is a demonstration of the kind of attitude they have towards patrons. So after multiple times there, not sure we'll return. We like casual places like this once in a while, but it probably doesn't deserve to be on our list anymore.

I am still angry that we paid over 70 bucks for a meal for two people (no drinks), that was tasteless and mediocre. An expensive disappointment. Plus, a kid, ( related to the owner I think) screamed and cried throughout most of our meal.

Ordered 3 Chicken Tikka Masala’s. They were $22 dollars a piece and don’t come with rice. What kind of Indian Restaurant doesn’t include rice with curry dishes? $66 dollars for this….unbelievable and very disappointing.

We have eaten at this restaurant twice in two weeks. The atmosphere is pleasant even if fairly plain, but the food is really outstanding - second only to the service! We dined with medium-sized groups both times, so we have been able to try several of their dishes. They have all been delish!!! We were told that the restaurant is under new management. I must say that they are doing a great job serving fantastic Indian food to Santa Fe! If you like Indian cuisine, give them a try - they will soon be on your regular rotation!

We had dinner here last night and were happy that we did because the food was very good, and so was the service. We had appetizers, chicken entree, and a paneer entree, with butter Naan and rice to share. Everything was cooked and seasoned perfectly with traditional Indian spices. This is not how Indian food tastes like. Overpriced and tasted very bad. Every single dish was disappointing. Ordered tomato soup, dal soup, chole bhatura, garlic naan, paneer gravy, chicken vindaloo. The two stars are only for the service. Not the food The breads were decent. Paneer gravy was decent. Everything else tasted very bad. I’ve never had such bad Indian food anywhere. Garlic naan had the jarred garlic in water - absolutely no garlic flavor. All gravies were very bad. And for a very small quantity each gravy is priced at $18. Absolutely not worth it at all. Vindaloo tasted like pickle. Bhature was so very very thick. Why ? Definitely do not recommend.

My first time since the new owners took over. I used to go for the lunch buffet when I lived in Santa Fe many years ago. The food is every bit as delicious as I remember. I was in Santa Fe for work and grabbed dinner to go. The Chicken Saagwala was tender and savory and just what I needed after a long drive through icy roads. The staff were helpful, friendly and gracious. I'll certainly be back.

Spoiled by other Indian Restaurant buffets in other cities. This one had a buffet that in essence had only 3 main dishes, all marginal, nothing spicy or hot. Will continue looking for Indian food in SAF.

Got reservations and went on a Thursday evening. Sparse decor but the food....the food!!!! Everything was delicious and the waiter(s) were attentive and prompt and the manager was supervising everything from the kitchen right down to ensuring each and every table was well attended to. We live in Santa Fe a,d get takeout from here about once a month. The menu features a wide variety of classic North Indian dishes. Tonight, my wife had prawns saag and mixed pickle, I had rogan josh and allo gobi. The dishes were, as always, well prepared and well seasoned. The location is a little odd, as the restaurant fronts not on the street, but on the back of the pblic parking lot entered from Water Street.

This restaurant serves the most authentic Indian cuisine—I should know being an Indian American. The food is savory, always served warm & the variety of dishes is impressive! The service is excellent, you feel like you are being taken cared of by your family!

We ordered a couple of days ahead for food for a small party at home in the afternoon. They were so helpful and made sure our food was perfectly packaged, attractive and hot when delivered, even the tea! We waited for the reopening and finally got ourselves there. WHAT a total treat: lovely, simple surroundings; warm and very gracious staff; and really spectacular food! We decided to do a very traditional sharing of samosas (made on site, and such a flaky envelop for very flavorful potatoes), tandoori chicken (moist, and beautifully charred at the edges), aloo gobi, sag paneer (so creamy), and garlic Naan. These staples we've enjoyed in many cities and in our well-loved India House on Cerrillos...and this version is hands down the best. The wine offerings included a very serviceable Frey organic White. Selections can be ordered to varying levels of spiciness. This is definitely a worthy place to become your favorite...and the location right on the edge of a parking lot, means easy access. Treat yourself and go to India Palace!

OMG, fabulous food. We had the buffet and it was the highlight of ending our trip to Santa Fe. We were walking back from the plaza to catch the rail runner and we came across this fairly new place. Please go and try it out. It was the best East India food I have had.

We wanted to try all the different types of entrees it came with. Disappointed that we were only able to pick 4 entrees (wished the menu could've stated that somewhere). I and my family stopped by at India Palace around 15 minutes before it was supposed to close at 2:30 PM. One member of the staff confirmed that we could eat although buffet would close at 2:30 PM. Once we got seated and promptly got our food before the closed, we are informed by our server just a few minutes later after we had started eating that we had to leave the restaurant by 2:45 PM sharp. This was not communicated to us in any way whatsoever when we had entered the restaurant. Upon mentioning this fact to a younger server whose name is reflected on the receipt photo perhaps got aggressive (a description the original staff member we talked to used to describe our server later as well when we told him about our experience before leaving) and raised his voice to let us know that the restaurant had done us a favor by even letting us in. This was extremely unwelcoming and unprofessional behavior. It goes without saying that we would obviously not spend close to $90 if a staff member would have communicated the fact that we only had till 2:30 pm to eat. We were forced to leave most of our food despite spending a decent amount of money. I have never had this unpleasant of an experience at any restaurant across the US. I would encourage India Palace to remind their servers of elementary rules of common courtesy as well as to clearly determine and communicate their guest policy close to closing time. The resturant has been under new management since the start of 2023. This is one of the best restaurants in all of Santa Fe and has the best Indian food available in the area. The staff is incredibly welcoming and friendly and care about the service and food they offer. I have never left the restaurant feeling anything but satisfied and continue to visit regularly. I went early and it was very cold and windy, so there were only 2 other tables when I arrived. I was greeted right away and felt the the service was consistently polite and attentive and prompt. I had Roti and Navrattan Korma which comes with a nice side of yellow rice. Remember to let them know how spicy to make your dish -- mine was a bit too spicy but I did eat it and enjoyed it. They have all the usual Indian dishes on the menu. There was no Buffet -- it didn't look like they had it at all. And they're still waiting for their liquor license. After about 30 min the place started to fill up and they finally turned on some music so you couldn't hear everyones conversation. I used to go to the India Palace a lot many years ago and am glad to see that it is still there -- growing pains and all.
