Got the Vegan Mushroom Barley and it was phenomenal. So much flavor. The person working was really nice. It is a cash only business. Must try.

I'm not even a soup person, truly I usually only find myself wanting it when I'm sick, but infinite soups is different. Everything I've tried from here is flavorful and rich and satiating in a way soups tend to fail for me. Their pasta soups are addicting and I've gorged on a few where I've gotten painfully full and taken some of the best naps of my life after. Such a Tacoma gem, thanks for making a soup lover out of me after all 💗

Foods good but the people who work here are always rude af. You come in and say hi how are you and they just look at you -__- Then some other customer comes in and the old lady is just friendly to him. Lol just weirdo behavior . Will not be returning. The last time I came I didn’t have cash as I forgot and the same lady got upset and said to me they’ve always been cash only. The way she said it was so rude. This could’ve been my first time here.

One of the highlights of my last trip to Washington was visiting Infinite Soups in Tacoma, Washington. Owners Wendy Clapp and Todd Deshazo managed The News Tribune cafeteria prior to creating Infinite Soups. Their soups were by far their most popular item. They started by selling their soup at a weekly farmers market. They opened their brick and mortar location at 445 Tacoma Ave. S. in 2007. Over the years, Infinite Soups has offered more than 1500 different types of soup. They create an estimated 100 new soup recipes each year. Clapp states, “I think soup is a democratic food, you know? Every culture eats soup. Every income level eats soup. Everybody eats soup!" The soups offered include traditional soups from all over the world. The soups are made from produce sourced from Zestful Gardens, a small organic farm and CSA in the Puyallup Valley, near Tacoma. Infinite Soups offers 17-20 soups that are made from scratch every day. There are four categories available: Creamy, Non-Creamy, Vegetarian, and Vegan. If you want to have the most options available to you, you need to get there before 1 PM. For my first visit on 5/17/24, I arrived about an hour before the store closed. There were just 5 options left, none of which were my preferred Creamy style soup. The young man working behind the counter, kindly offered to let me sample all five, and I did. They were all EXCELLENT! I had a hard time deciding which one to get and asked him which of these was his favorite. He recommended the Basil Artichoke (Vegetarian). I went with it. I got a 16 ounce size. Unfortunately, that late in the day there wasn’t any fresh baked bread available, so I got crackers. There is no indoor seating at Infinite Soups, so I drove to nearby Dune Peninsula at Point Defiance Park. Even though the Basil Artichoke soup was Vegetarian, it was fairly creamy. The basil flavor was subtle. It tasted more like a great Artichoke soup. Now that I know about this wonderful business, I’ll be sure to visit every time I’m in town. As a soup enthusiast, I'm always searching for great soup spots, and this place caught my attention while I was in the area. Specializing exclusively in soups made fresh daily, they offer a variety of options for everyone. The staff is incredibly friendly and accommodating. They only accept cash or checks, but they kindly let me sample before purchasing. I opted for the three cheese potato soup in the largest size and thoroughly enjoyed it. I'll definitely be returning to try other flavors. Note that there is no seating inside, so it's a pick-up-and-go experience. I highly recommend this place!

Get the Cauliflower Cheddar and a day-old Corina for lunch! 1 star for Atmosphere = I wouldn't have it any other way.

Amazing soups, cash only. Next time going earlier to try other soups. Super nice people the scent inside should be bottled as a comfort oil. It is take out only, and worth more than the cost. Update: Dad's day outing here, got t-shirts, and lots of soups. They are the best soup place !

So happy to see this place is still in business! When I lived in Tacoma about 15 years ago this was the only place for me to get a nourishing meal at a decent price point. I couldn't always afford healthy groceries etc. This place was a Godsend for me.

please take your Saturday hours off the internet if you're never going to be open on saturdays, the past 6 times i've come on a saturday they have been closed due to 'excessive sunshine' or 'too good of weather'

Many choices daily, cash only, take away no seating. Don’t ponder nor wonder, get in there, try one of Infinite’s savory soups.

As a big soup girly, Infinite Soups is my heaven. We took 5 soups home to try a variety but these were my favorites: (1) Chicken Gorgonzola Tortellini (2) Pot Roast (3) 3 Cheese Potato. The pricing seems an absolute steal for the quality and everything was piping hot. I also so appreciated how friendly the staff was and the ability to sample before choosing! 10/10 would recommend and will be back very soon!!!

Great guy, I didn't get his name but the soup is delicious fair priced and hot! I didn't realize it was cash only but in-between grabbing my debit card and putting it back to grab cash during the verbal exchange he offered to float it until next time. I absolutely loved this about this guy. I had to money to pay so I did but just an amazing attitude in my opinion. I will definitely be a repeat customer, the kind that drives out of their way. Always Top Notch Soups! Wide variety of Vegetarian Soups. Daily Selections, which means everything is fresh with new soups of the day. For those loyal Soup lovers, they keep the top soups available Daily. I love the Potatoe soup and curry soup. There are so many more that I recommend stepping out of your comfort zone and trying a new soup. Here's the place to do it! They will give you a sample ( if uncertain), prior to buying, to verify that you've made your selection. I love the record player. While waiting, you'll hear a variety of records. Great Staff. Enjoy this delicious Place! Oh yes. They have corn bread and rolls. This is a first come first serve place. So, the earlier the better guarantees you'll get what your craving and looking for.

Best soup in the state. This is definitely a don't judge a book by its cover place. The area is a little rough, but that's tacoma in general. Inside has showed its age a little, but that's sort of the charm to it all. Everything is paid for in cash. Three sizes are offered: cup, bowl, a pint. Prices were I believe $6, $7, $8 The menu changes daily due to supply of ingredients at the time. There are about 20 or so soups offered in categories of creamy, non-creamy, vegetable, and vegan. Check their Facebook for their daily menu posting. There's also bread offered for sale which I have yet to try. They run until they're out of soup, so plan to get there early for the best variety of choices. Every soup I've tried is amazing and gives you that warm hug on a rainy day feeling. They have 17 years of experience of making soup and they have mastered their craft.

Cash only, family owned and zero frills. They spin records in a closet sized counter service space while you sample whatever your heart desires. Local bakery delivers fresh yummy bread. It's been my go to for many years. You will not be disappointed. Except the parking sucks.

I tried 2 vegan soups and sourdough bread and it was delicious. The island chowder was creamy with a little kick. I lived a few blocks away years ago and didn’t realize this gem was here.

That Chicken Gorgonzola Tortilini 🥹 It was so amazing! I wish I had gotten the pint rather than the bowl. My tummy is so happy and excited for a soup tomorrow. I also tried the beer braut & cheddar as well as the Lemon herb and clam. It was so hard to make a decision as to which one to have. I'm going to be having infinite soup for lunch a lot from here on out. I can't get enough. Cash only! Popped in here to add: I've been back almost every day since the first day. It's near my work place. On Fridays I typically get 3 Soups. 1 for lunch and 2 for over the weekend lunch. Then back to it on Monday. I spend roughly $52 a week at this place and I don't regret anything! I love this place whole heartedly. I've been raving about it to co-workers and friends too. Talking about it online/social media. I'm a customer for life. Just wish they had a punch card system like they did way back in the day...

You can't dine in here, they have a small shop near the downtown area. I don't get excited for soup and unfortunately waited years before trying this place. I waited too long. It is absolutely fantastic and I have been back several times already. The Hunter's Meatball Soup is my favorite. If they are both open, the move is to grab some soup and head down to Outpost Sandwiches for a BLT, the two best in town.

The most delicious and savory soup in the universe. I am not even a soup person and I wish they were in every city in the US. Alas, there is only one Inifinite Soups, so I get to savor the rare times I am visiting the area. They are a standing room only, line out the door, cash payment, little joint and every day they have a different selection of 15, or more, soups to choose from. I have never had a bad soup! They have four categories: “creamy”, “non-creamy”, “vegetarian”, and “vegan”. The place is one of those rare hidden gems. I once asked what their secret is and they said, "no secret" -- but I don't believe it. Bonus: They have a turntable and large collection of vinyl too.

It's a little place where you can get a delicious pint of soup for 8 bucks. What's not to like? Staff is always nice, soup is always good and hot. My favorite little place in Tacoma.

This is a togo only restaurant. Don't let the line detour you, it goes fast. The soup selections are pretty vast. They had at least 15 kinds to choose from the day I was there. They have many vegetarian, vegan, along with there other selections of soups. The atmosphere was fun and casual. They had a record player adding to the atmosphere. I had the beef and cabbage soup today. It had a perfect amount of ingredients and spice to it with tender potatoes in the mix.

Listen the food here is amazing but the google business hours are so wildly inaccurate that I’ve showed up on 4 separate occasions that they say they’re open and they’re not. Definitely call to confirm they will be open if you are at all traveling to eat here.

This is the best soup I've had. It's cash only, and there's no seating inside, so plan ahead. They let you try the soups if you want, and every single soup is an absolute banger. The first time I visited I was so impressed I went back the next day, and the next, and literally every day that week to try something new. The owners are great, too. They wrote me an IOU once when I didn't have any cash on me. If I still worked in Tacoma, I'd be there almost every day.

Tiny cash-only situation. They close when the soup runs out, so go early and don't assume their google hours later in the day are accurate.

On four separate occasions I have visited this place, and on those four occasions it was closed for another reason. Maintenance, power outage, what name you. Have you ever had good soup? It wasn’t as good as an Infinite Soup. You walk up, to an unassuming former garage, and squint at a hand written menu that already has crossed out options. Your gaze wanders and you notice an eclectic but incredible collection of vinyl, with a copy of Physical Graffiti sitting atop the pile. You wait in a line that magically appeared while you were temporarily distracted by the menu, and to help the rush, a pixie woman appears and takes your order on a post it note. Bread, she asks. Bread, you say. Roll or bun, she asks again; Roll, you reply. You order a side of soup, it doesn’t matter how big, you’re going to want more. For $11 exactly, you walk away with a pint of chicken Gorgonzola tortellini soup and a plastic wrapped roll of bread. It is the greatest soup you have ever eaten, and the fresh baked bread is divine beyond description as you dunk it in your soup. The only ding against Infinite Soup is that it’s too good. I don’t know that I can return to a world that accepts lesser soup. I am not a soup guy, I’ve probably had soup less than 10 times in the last decade. I will 100% return to Infinite Soup any time I’m in Tacoma. Holy hell the soup is good. 10/10; I am a soup convert. Conveniently, the next door establishment makes its seating available to soup patrons. You should stop in there too.

Every soup I’ve tried has been SO GOOD, and the bread is great too. Prices are super reasonable. Highly recommend!

I was very excited to learn that there was a take-away restaurant JUST for soup in the neighborhood and they did NOT disappoint. I was thrilled to go here!! I got the Ecuadorian 5 peanut soup (10/10), the pork pozole (9/10 just because I couldn't handle the spice as well as I thought I could), and the vegan ginger lemon mushroom soup (9/10). B prepared for some of the best tasting soups of your life! It is a cash-only business so visit an ATM before!

I’ve had sooo much soup from them and haven’t had a single one miss, but the peppered steak and bleu cheese was hands down the very best soup I’ve ever had in my life. I’m absolutely blown away. I don’t even like bleu cheese.

Dude....this place SLAPS! It is SO delicious! Cash only, parking a little annoying. But. It. Is. Worth. It. Every single soup is seasoned to perfection. The moment you walk into, this lil, eclectic shop, your mouth begins to water. My favorite was the Garlic Mushroom Sausage soup. And I swear, I want to bathe in it. I also slurped down the: Chicken Tortellini, Tomato Gonzala, & Italian Artichoke. All unbelievable 👏

First, let me be clear..... i love this place. However, the soups hve gotten to be Over Salty. The salt level has become so high, you can barely taste the soups. This is not healthy for anyone's arteries. When I recently mentioned this ( in a kind way), the employee said, "Yes, we hear that a lot. " ? So I wonder why they do not decrease the salt in the soups. I used to come here once a week, at least. Now , maybe once a year.

Infinite in flavor and options. They know about seasoning and variety. I have never been disappointed by a single selection. I usually leave with 6 or more pints that I freeze and enjoy later so I don’t have to drive in from Gig Harbor every time I have a craving. I cannot recommend enough.

I've lived by this place for many years but never went in because to be honest, I'm not a fan of soup. But we walked down there the other day after work because my husband was craving soup and we thought we would try. We got there and didnt realize it was cash. We hadnt ordered yet and said we would go to an atm and be right back. They kindly offered us an IOU and told us to pay next time we came in. A gesture of kindness and community you just wont get at chain stores. My husband got some sausage and lentil soup and we enjoyed our evening. He absolutely LOVED it. Today I went to go repay them for the soup we had and figured I would give it a try too. Their options all sounded amazing. I ended up getting the Garlic Mushroom Potato and it tasted and smelled like heaven. I had to remind myself to slow down cause I couldnt get enough and I wanted to savor it. I wish I had bought the large size. The employees are friendly and I love the records playing when you come in too. Theyre a Tacoma staple and I am grateful to have them in our community

Been here many times and recommended it many times. I've been a part of this community in downtown Tacoma for a long time and used to love the local vibe of this place. Recently however, they have been very comfortable with implied racism and refuse to face things that would make them uncomfortable about their performative wokeness. They then engaged with me over social media to be rude and immature on a public platform. Been here dozens of times and it left me feeling like the person running their FB account must be one of the younger unprofessional employees. The soup might be okay but they are really over priced, you can make these recipes at home for pennies on the dollar, and honestly the attitudes of the staff come across as very "better than their customers". I expect that from Seattleites but never from Tacomans.

Never been here before and was blown away for my first impression. I did not realize they only take cash and check however they wrote me out an I owe you. Came back the next day and paid them back with a generous tip. The soup was amazing. They also feed the homeless! Definitely coming back here

Had 4 Soups today I had the chicken gorgonzola tortellini and chicken with rice and my husband had mushroom barley and minestrone with meatballs. ALL were very good. The tortellini was to die for!! Took it to a little store next door to eat ( The Mill) and got pop and some yummy local Raspberry Honey. Very nice place and wonderful people at both shops. Will definitely be back
