My husband and I had a wonderfully relaxing weekend. Teresa and Troy are amazing hosts, making you feel comfortable throughout your stay. The breakfast is excellent! I’m still trying to mimic the goat cheese omelette. The Inn has all the comforts of home, beautiful views of the water and is convenient to local shops and dining. You won’t be disappointed.

My sister and I discovered the Inn At Warner Hall and found a small piece of heaven! Nestled in Gloucester, the Inn has the most gorgeous views and spectacular innkeepers who are fondly remembered. We enjoyed each mornings curated breakfast with treats available throughout the day. Just sitting on the terrace with the white rocking chairs and listening to the birds singing was enough peace for me! We definitely plan to return and I gladly give this experience 5 stars!

10 Out of 10 I have stayed at 10 Virginia bed and breakfast inns (especially along 15 from Charlottesville to Culpepper, but also in Staunton and near Crozet). I would rate Warner Hall as the best. The owners are on-site, friendly, and helpful. Breakfast is perfectly prepared and delicious, and if you prefer to eat in your room or on the upstairs porch, that is always an option--but the view on the glassed-in downstairs porch is spectacular. The rooms are bright, airy, and comfortable with unbeatable river and forest views (and robust fireplaces during colder months). Nearby Yorktown, Gloucester, and Williamsburg offer wonderful places steeped in history to explore as well as excellent dining and shopping experiences. My favorites in downtown Gloucester are Yolanda's Boutique and LuLu Birds restaurant. And there are wonderful art galleries (as well as art on the streets) in downtown Gloucester to explore. I have enjoyed staying in three different rooms at Warner Hall so far but plan to join the inn's repeat customers who have stayed in every room.

We spent the weekend here with friends and family and had a super time. The hosts were wonderful and welcoming and made us feel right at home. The rooms were well appointed and spotless and made for a very comfortable stay. Breakfast each morning was lovely and you did not come away hungry. The property is full of history and is a beautiful place to stay and take in the sunsets and relax. we will definitely be back again.

My husband wanted to get away for a belated anniversary and he found Warner Hall. I oohed and awed as we drove up the beautiful driveway and after I proclaimed my excitement as we exited our vehicle, I heard him quietly say to himself “winning!”. I am happy that he is happy that I am pleased at being a guest here. The property is stunning, the architecture and interior design is refined, the breakfast was incredible; all made possible by Theresa and Troy! Thank you!

Warner Hall is such a unique property and we truly enjoyed our time here. We stayed in the George Washington Suite. It was on the main floor, offered a comfortable king bed, spacious bathroom and fireplace. We also had views of the river and their "coffee fairy" always left a tray just outside our door with a pot of hot coffee, condiments and cream. The 3 course breakfast was a highlight of our day. The food was delicious and the view was gorgeous! We highly recommend this jewel of home.

This is my first time reviewing anything, but I had to leave a review for the Inn at Warner Hall. My Husband and I have never stayed at a B and B, and this one has to be a 5 star one. The service you get at this establishment is amazing and you will feel right at home but at the same time in the lap of luxury. We have already rebooked to stay another night over the 4th of July. Do yourself a favor and book yourself a stay. You won’t regret it.

My wife and I do a lot of traveling in the USA and Europe and stay in B&Bs or higher-level hotels whenever possible. With that background, I have to say that our stay at the Inn was as good as the best stays we have had, and better than most. The breakfasts were great. The hosts (Teresa and Troy) are friendly and welcoming without being obtrusive. The Inn and the rooms are truly spectacular. Comfortable beds and bedding. Nice grounds with space to find peace and quiet if you wish to spend time at the Inn. We plan to visit again. It is that kind of a place.

Our experience at the Inn at Warner Hall was fabulous. Theresa and Troy are quintessential hosts. They created a warm, inviting environment that was sufficiently casual for our tastes. The room was exceptionally clean. The grounds and view were spectacular. The breakfasts were outstanding! Theresa is an amazing chef, catering to our individual needs and tastes, and presenting the foods with flair. We stayed three nights and by the time we were leaving we felt like we had made new friends. We had been to Warner Hall several times since 2006 and each time our experience is better than we’d hoped. We can’t wait to return.

I visited the Inn at Warner Hall for my birthday weekend on February 24th and 25th, checking out on the 26th. It is an incredibly lovely bed and breakfast, rich with history, and the Innkeepers (who are also the owners) were extremely gracious and accommodating! I stayed in the Washington Suite which was absolutely beautiful. The breakfast was delicious as well. Fresh fruit, muffins and scones were served along with a choice of blueberry pancakes, an omelet with asparagus and bacon or poached eggs with Boursin sauce. Delightful! I recently enjoyed my 20th “overnight” at Warner Hall! My husband I, together, hold Warner Hall and its Innkeepers, Troy and Theresa, in very high esteem. We met and, ultimately, married shortly after Troy and Theresa bought Warner Hall. So in many ways, we grew up with them and feel each return visit to Gloucester is much like going “home...” Warner Hall is about its hallowed ground and, indeed, what The Washington Family represents to our United States of America, but it’s also about its aesthetics and the feelings it stirs within each guest. However, none of that alone would call us back time after time with our VIP treatment and the camaraderie we rediscover each stay. We have traveled the world together with our lives having been richly blessed ... and find Warner Hall its epitome.

For Cherrie and myself, the best part of our visit to Virginia was our visit to Warner Hall. It was a deeply personal visit for both of us as relations to the founders of the plantation. The inn is presently owned by Troy and Theresa Stavens. They acquired and restored the house in 1999 and made it a bed and breakfast. Sadly, I did not get to meet Theresa Stavens, but did meet Troy who was delightful. On our way to Warner Hall, we stopped in Yorktown, Va. to eat. This put us a bit late in arriving at Warner Hall (about 5.45 pm). Troy actually called us to make sure we were okay. "We take care of our guests at Warner Hall," he said. "We care." Indeed, that came through not only in word, but in everything and in every way during our so too brief stay. The stay was a total surprise to me. Cherrie had arranged the stay and didn't tell me until we were at dinner in Yorktown. We were supposed to visit the next day. When we arrived, Troy Stavens, Cherrie's co-conspirator in this surprise, warmly greeted us and escorted us upstairs to the Mildred Warner Suite. This room was named for a daughter of Col. Augustine Warner. She was President George Washington's grandmother. The room was warm, homey, cozy and inviting. There was an amazing bathroom with a modern walk-in shower and a fireplace with gas logs. Just outside the suite was a self service coffee and tea bar and a well stocked mini refrigerator with water and various beverages. As both Cherrie and I have mobility issues, Mr. Troy offered to help us bring in our luggage and get us settled. He was just such a kind fellow. It would be totally unfair to compare the comfort of the bed to my extraordinarily comfortable extra large king-size bed here at Villa Dean. However I must say, the Queen bed in the Mildred Warner Suite was very comfortable. It was the best night's sleep on the trip. There was a nice sitting area next to the fireplace which was very comfortable. It was a great place to sit and enjoy a cup of coffee. The next morning we awoke and the smell of breakfast hung in the air (well, okay bacon). We went down after dressing and were once more warmly greeted, this time by a very lovely young lady who escorted us to the dining area on an enclosed terrace that runs the full length of the rear of the main house. It was beautifully decorated. Our server told us that our breakfast choices were banana pancakes or an omelet, both served with a side of bacon. She added they could come up with most anything if we wanted. Cherrie chose the pancakes, I got the omelet. Both were excellent, freshly made, served hot. The bacon was perfectly prepared. Cherrie had her usual unsweetened iced tea and I had the coffee which was served hot. We also had orange juice. The tables were beautifully set with the place settings done properly, the fruit was sliced and arranged in an attractive floral pattern and each table had a unique Christmas centerpiece which were made of small pine cones arranged as a Christmas tree. The breakfast was wonderful and filling. Speaking of Christmas, the whole house was decorated for Christmas and the decorations were beautiful. The style of the decorations were a perfect complement to the general decor of the house and had an obvious Williamsburg influence. I cannot say enough about the Inn at Warner Hall. I looked for something to complain about. I couldn't find anything. It was as near a perfect place as I have ever visited. After breakfast Cherrie and I walked the grounds and visited the cemetery on the property. This cemetery contains the graves of our ancestors Col. Augustine Warner and Mildred Reade, his wife. It also contains the graves of our ancestors Col. John Lewis and his wife, Elizabeth Warner. If I could give it six stars, I would. We shall return!!

I enjoyed the most blissful stay at this romantic inn! The innkeepers, Troy and Theresa, made my 27th birthday so very special! Both were excellent hosts, who offered such warm hospitality. They even brought me freshly picked peonies from the garden and bubbly water to celebrate! My room, Mildred Warner, was so inviting and spacious! I enjoyed strolling the grounds and reading in the wicker rocking chair on the second-floor balcony. Breakfast was delicious and served on the beautiful river porch. Close lunch/dinner options are available in town, along with many fun shopping ventures. This place was so tranquil! Parking was plentiful and accessible. This home is just beautiful. The view of the Severn River and beautiful countryside is just breathtaking! The innkeeper was very friendly and welcoming. I loved that the upstairs had an area with coffee so that I could get my first cup without having to wait for breakfast. Speaking of breakfast -the bacon and western omelette were outstanding, the choice of juices and pastries along with the creative presentation of fresh fruit really made breakfast special. My husband and I loved the working fireplace in our bedroom and enjoyed a glass of wine before dinner just sitting and watching the fire. The sheets on the bed have to be the softest I have ever experienced and are available for purchase from the inn. Built by Gorge Washington's great-great grandfather in 1642 is just the beginning of the amazing history of this house. Walking up the stairs knowing the the pine in the stairs was harvested by George Washington was beyond real. The innkeeper has a lot of this home's history online- It is well worth reading about the incredible guests who stayed at this home!

The staff they have were so accommodating and informative. Breakfast consisted of poached eggs and Belgian waffles. Also at 5pm they served shrimp cocktail, cheese and a few other hors d'oeuvre along with a great selection of wine. They also kept drinks and snacks throughout the premises. We came here for our anniversary and it was a wonderful experience. The inn has the charm of a b&b with the conforts of a hotel. The staff was incredible and we were well taken care of. We were also the only guests that night so it was even more magical having the place to ourselves. I highly recommend the room we picked, the Merriweather room. It has a fireplace, a huge whirlpool tub, separate shower, a big closet, nice furnishings, is on the 2nd floor and has a great view of the front of the house. It's also next to the refreshment area with an entrance out to the patio. What really made it an amazing experience was the attention to detail from the amenities to the wine and cheese by the fireplace to the free snacks and drinks. The grounds are so beautiful and we are already planning a trip back in the Spring when we can enjoy more of the outdoor space. We brought our favorite champagne and they set out a serving tray for us with an ice bucket, glasses and raspberries. The breakfast was really good and fresh. The lemon poppyseed muffins are made in house and was my favorite. There was so many choices from coffee, tea, juices, muffins, fruit, omlette, pancake, eggs/bacon and potatoes. We were so stuffed we didn't eat lunch. My husband was obsessed with the orange blossom whipped cream (get it with the pancakes!). There isn't a lot of nearby options for dinner but we wanted to watch the football games so we went to a place called "The Office" and it was great. The tables were also spaced very well apart and the food and beers were good. Everyone there was nice and the prices can't be beat! This was my hubby first B&B style experience and I think it pretty much ruined all B&Bs for him in the future. I've been to a few and nothing comes close to the wonderful experience we had here. Thank you for a memorable stay!

What a beautiful inn. I really didn't know what treat we were in for when I booked this stay. The inn and grounds are extraordinarily lovely. Beautifully and elegantly decorated inside and out. I especially enjoyed the small family cemetery with headstones dating back to the 1600s. The water views were also very nice. If the weather was warmer I think kayaking and swimming would be great. I do wish the weather had cooperated for stargazing. Maybe if we can manage a return visit. A stay here is not cheap but certainly a lovely way to treat yourself. As mentioned the interior is elegant and comfortable. I appreciated that there was wine and snacks available on our arrival. The king bed and spacious bathroom in the Washington room were a delight. It should be mentioned that even though this is a ground floor room there are still several steps to negotiate. The host was kind and helpful. Breakfast was very pleasant but honestly not exceptional. I appreciate how far this home is off the beaten path but the downtown area of Gloucester is only 10-15 minutes away which is where we had a very good dinner at Lulu Birds. I would highly recommend staying at this beautiful home.

There are many reasons we will come back to Warner Hall, from the exhilarating “feeling” here, to the hosts highly touted breakfasts, which I give a rave review, to the fresh and oh so comfortable beds/rooms/linens and appointments. We enjoyed our stay last month and are planning to return this month with our 4 legged family member-we were extremely happy to hear Inn At Warner Hall is dog friendly!

Beautiful building, the owners did an amazing job renovating and decorating it. Breakfast was plenty and delicious, and so enjoyable to sit on the beautiful veranda. I went running on and around the grounds - it's beautiful out there, next time we'll take a canoe and explore from the water! Loved our stay at Warner Inn ❤️

From start to finish, we felt at home and so welcomed at the Inn at Warner Hall. Theresa and Troy treated us like family and took great care of us. Theresa's breakfasts and happy hour treats were amazing and we enjoyed having a glass of wine with other guests and Troy before dinner. We also appreciated the insights the couple shared about the property and places to visit in the area. We can't wait to go back. Sandy Lynch Morris

We've been to the Inn a few times and are making it an annual thing. The grounds are beautiful, peaceful, and have the graves of 6 of my ancestors in the family cemetery. An absolute treasure.

Parting was SUCH sweet sorrow!....the inn is absolutely stunning... beautifully appointed and thoughtful details around every corner. We loved having the gas fireplace in our room. Coffee on the verandah overlooking the peaceful countryside started every morning and a glass of red wine ended each day. Ahhhhh- heaven! Theresa, Troy and staff were gracious hosts. We can't wait to come back!

We felt very much at home. Beautiful inn and landscape. When looking out our bedroom window we felt like we were in an 18th century painting. For "Outlander" fans, we were on set in Auntie's home. Food was very good. Staff friendly. We hope to return soon. Highly recommend!'

This was our first stay at the Inn at Warner Hall and we hope it won't be our last! We were very grateful for the peace and quiet amidst the beautiful views and exceptional hospitality offered by Troy and Theresa. While we think that all the rooms looked so accommodating, we stayed in Austin's Desire and enjoyed this spacious room with the great natural lighting and views.

Lived in Hampton Roads Virginia for four years and never knew this existed. As an anniversary gift and a passion for history, this place was amazing. We stayed in the Washington suite and as we read about the connections to the a Queen, President Washington, Lewis and Clark, and loads else, the place is absolutely fascinating. The caretakers are also really amazing and friendly. Great breakfast that rivals many of the nicest breakfast places around (plus healthier and the fruit displays were a super nice touch) and they take really good care of the place. We would have seen more if not for the rain. It’s one of our new favorite places and happy it’s close by. Will definitely come again!

My wife and I celebrated our 1 year anniversary at the Inn of Warner Hall and we would give this place more than 5 stars if it was only possible! We stayed in "Austin's Desire" and we loved the gorgeous views of the waterfront and pastures from our room, the old charm decor with the modern conveniences, the soaking tub was fantastic, and the fun complementary activities that were available (kayaking, bike riding, exploring the historic grounds, and playing board games in the boathouse). The three-course breakfast was delicious too! It was a perfect getaway and the owners were so hospitable. We would stay here again and plan on recommending it to our friends!

Beautiful, historic, and it is part of my ancestral history! Thank you Troy and Teresa for all you have done to make this magnificent property even more so! I can hardly wait until I can take more of the Kennon family there to experience a piece of history and of our ancestors. They will love it as much as we did! The rooms are all wonderful and we especially loved the Elizabeth Lewis room with its great sitting area by the windows that face the boathouse. This was the most perfect spot to watch the sunrise and early morning fog with a cup of coffee! Magical! Breakfast was superb and the wine and hors d’oeuvres in the evening were divine! I would highly recommend this treasure!!
