Excellent food! Would recommend to anyone!

I cannot even begin to explain in words how delicious this food is. Their pupu chicken is the BOMB. The lady up front is always super kind and helpful and takes good care of us when we come here. We LOVE it!! Edit: I keep coming back over and over and every time it's amazing

Got there just before closing, but got takeout katsu and their pupu chicken combo meals. Enough good tasting food to feed an army!

Yummiest food and family-owned by the sweetest around! We had them cater our wedding a few years back and everyone still talks about the food. We visit as much as we can.

Check ‘em out!! We’re glad we did! They are most popular for their Pupu Chicken, and that’s what I got. It was so delicious and hands down the best lightly breaded chicken I have ever tasted. The chicken was perfectly crispy on the outside and tender and juicy on the inside. We also got the bbq teriyaki and it was also delicious. Mahalo for the ono foods you guys! 🤙🏽

I gave them a year to get better. But again my order of thirty Three dollars was wasted. Except I got four scoops of white rice that was eatible, all the rest of the combos plates we ordered went to the garbage. Island grinds: pull the hog in peices, give something to bite. Mush is unacceptable.. Making a hog stretch 1000 plates is gross, your one step away from pork puree.

I love to visit this restaurant once awhile, their food have great flavor and quality, and price is very very good!! The other big reason I love them is they always Always super nice and friendly, the women worked at register, I love her voice! 😁great restaurants! It has been a while since I ordered here last time. I was expecting the price rise like everywhere else. But I think it is still the old price, and remains the good quality meat as well as the amount of the food!! The lady in the front is super nice just like before! I like her a lot! 🥹 appreciate this restaurant so much!

We had a going away event at work for a couple worker. We all pitched in. Had 75 people. Ordered teriyaki chicken meal. Great food. No issues. Great price. Everyone was so happy with everything.they could not say enough. Thank you so much for everything.

REVISED REVIEW BELOW: We LOVE this place! Great food, friendly staff and generous portions. (Revised review below) UPDATE: June 2023. I changed my review from 5 stars to 4. They still have amazing food, good portions and friendly staff. The reason for my revision is because their hours keep getting shorter and shorter, aren’t always consistent and seem to unexpectedly change. We used to call in our order and pick it up 10-15 minutes later. The last time we tried to go they closed early and had also changed their regular hours, closing earlier. It’s been a while so we tried again recently on a Friday night at 6pm and they were closed again. It seems like they’re not getting enough business to stay open if they’re closed on a Friday evening right at dinner time. It’s unfortunate because we love their food and would love to give them business, but every time we try they’re closed. I would highly recommend you check their business hours, but also call them to verify that they’re open before you drive across town only to realize they’re closed.😕

Incredible food! I got the teriyaki chicken combo and my husband got the katsu plate. I’ve never heard him say so many times “this is so good!” And he didn’t even finish his plate which is saying something because he eats A LOT! Happy to have leftovers and happy to have left full 🤗

Staff was friendly and helpful. This was the second time I got food poisoning after eating here. Nice people, good food but seems to come with a price. I guess stuff can happen. I had the chicken katsu.

Let me start by saying that the food was mad pupu. I drove all the way from hurricane and when I got home I realized I was missing a meat from one of my meals. If I want trash food I'll just go to McDonald's and order of the dollar menu. An hour from the 1st review update: After eating the meal my whole family got diarrhea. I guess I see why they call it pupu chicken. If your constipated. I would recommend this place.

Food was good Place was dirty and felt greasy They charged me extra .50 for using my debit card. Portions isn’t what they used to be. I think there are other places in town that is more worth the wait and money in town I’ll go to

Damn I love this places bbq terayaki n mac salad.

My son ate here once a week while on his mission. It was his favorite place to watch. He took our entire family to eat here and we all enjoyed it. If you are in St George make sure to eat here and try the pupu chicken.

I LOVE this place. They always have amazing customer service and the food is always cooked to perfection. My family have been going here for years and will continue going here. If you’re looking for a great place to get food that is actually good this is the place. Out of the many many many times we have eaten here not once have we been disappointed. Our orders are correct every time. And the team greets you with a warm welcome.

Update: Can't stop coming here cuz they always on point. Thanks for the meal. (Can't ever be too fond cuz of another factor and it ain't the investor backed chain by a mile... this place calls I'll put the other on a mile). Although where the ladies go.... Update (year ago or there abouts) Back in town and this was my first stop in my list of must eat at restaurants for this town and I can confirm still very enjoyable, still on the good list, and I may get again before I leave. Priorish (Oct/Nov 2021): As good as ever. I did try the other similar food chain that's popped up on this trip out and I can say they got nothing on ISLAND GRINDS. I repeat, don't waste your time at that other one and come here to be happy. I surely made sure to come here after on this short trip. Oh that mac, so good... well the whole plate was. Prior to (Decemberish 2020): It's been 4 years since I last posted the review and I'm happy to say it's still tasty and a good deal. I got the special lunch combo this time and enjoyed the all mac (still among my favorite anywhere) and chicken katsu (I've gotta try something different one of these times). The special combo is a really good deal if you want a filling bit on the smaller side, but if you're really hungry (or eat bigger lunch) than it's probably not going to be enough so get the regular size and enjoy. Cheers to this place, one of my few must eats when I come into town. Previously (4 years ago): Been there a couple times now and the food is great, started about 2013ish. The staff is friendly. Then to top it all off, it's a good value proposition. Chill inside area, clean the few times I've been in there.

Great food. Cashier takes a bit to look up from her phone. Only had two of the meat options left and because it was nearing closing, they weren't offering the sides I wanted. When you go to pay, you learn their prices listed are for cash only- it'd be one thing if this was clearly written somewhere, but the way it's done is misleading and distasteful. It's not a cash discount, it's a card upcharge, with how it's currently done.

I show up at 11:00 when they open, and the door still isn’t open. I waited 10 min for them to open up the door, only for the girl at the cashier to tell me my food will be a 30 minute wait. If you’re going to open at 11:00 you should be ready to serve food at 11:00.

YUUUUUMMMM! Best Hawaiian food in town! Decided to come on a whim after seeing the special $6 plate advertised. Soo glad we did! For 3 of the specials was only $20 so very economy friendly (2023). The Kahlúa pig was flavorful and tastes like it took all day to make, grilled chicken was perfectly moist and grilled at the same time, the Mac salad actually had flavor! It’s always too Mayo-y but this had seasoning which was perfect. Overall very satisfied and will be coming back weekly. Thank you!

Great food, great service, the atmosphere is great because of the people, but the building layout is a little tight and a little dark is all.

If you're craving mo' Bettahs, go to island grinds instead.

🤢🤢🤢 If I could give zero stars I would. After eating at this location, I was throwing up for 8 hours. Worst sickness I’ve ever felt. The Kalua had sooo much pepper and tastes like it sat out for a while, definitely not fresh! The pupu skin did not taste fresh either, so after one bite the rest went in the trash. The food looked good, but tasted wrong. I will never visit this location and unless you want your head in the toilet for hours after your visit throwing up and in pain, I would not suggest visiting. It will be a long time till I even try to eat at another island grinds location. 🤢

Their hours of availability have made it nearly impossible to ever buy their food. I work early mornings and attend school until 6:30 PM. They close at 6:00 PM. I don't understand that. Is that not shutting down in the middle of a potential dinner rush? I love their food and their staff has always been beyond friendly but their hours have been frustrating for me.

Was passing through Saint George, before my ski trip and wanted to get some home feel/ hearty food. And the beef ribs definitely hit the spot.

Walked in to lazy workers. They were all on their phones not paying attention. I ordered and waited for half an hour, And my food had already been sitting in the back for about 20 minutes. I had to remind them to give me my food and get off their phones. Unbelievable.

Their Pupu chicken and Kalbi Short Ribs...sooo good!! It will have your mouth watering!! 🤤So deliciously marinated and full of flavor! It's a little out of the way from where we live, but totally worth the trip. I love me a good mac salad, and theirs is fantastic!! I loved my whole combo plate, even the white rice. Cooked perfectly! My husband is not much of a chicken person (as he much prefers beef and pork), but he absolutely loved the Pupu chicken and will definitely be ordering it again, as will I!🍴👍

I highly recommend this restaurant. They have great food and service. There teriyaki sauce is addicting and the chicken is delightful. Even the prices here are great.

Only able to eat at this place a couple time a year. Can't say it's the best for it's type of cuisine, there are better places in town for the same sorta food. Honestly, would probably have a higher opinion of the place if they didn't keep such silly hours that means I keep getting there 15 minutes from close and denied service. Because how dare I work overnights and try my best to do things at standard business hours in America, right?

I’ve been to Island Grinds hundreds of times. Every time I get the pupu chicken and I’m ALWAYS impressed. Tafoula that runs the front is always so nice and even when I call in, she knows my order. She is on top of it! The food is made to order, which means the chicken is always crispy and hot. Island Grinds is my favorite place to go in town. They also give you more food than other island restaurants and for a cheaper price. It’s a family owned restaurant, which makes it even better! I highly recommend trying Island Grinds.

Customer service definitely could be better i made arrangements last month for a party to be catered and they canceled on me the week of your food isn’t that good for me to be willing to put up almost 700$ Then get canceled on very very dissatisfied

Covid fear is manifested there. Prices are up, service is down. Dining room is closed. The whole dining room, tables and chairs stacked by the wall. Order inside, wait outside for your order. Food reflects the fear. It is not as good as it used to be. Not going back.

What i love about there food is that it taste so good and it is awesome i would go there very day on my lunch break! That is what i love about island grinds. :) ;)

This place is amazing, it brings back my amazing collage memories . My Dixie College roommate and I would eat here when her family was in town. It was such a treat for us. The shrimp is the best, the Service is warm and feels like home. Can’t wait to bring my family

Great food, but slow. Expect to wait 15 to 25 mins. I've eating here several times and their food is amazing. They are probably the slowest Hawaiin food place in town. They have a steady pace of customers, but everytime I've gone it s never busy; but still takes longer than it should to get your food. If it wasn't for the slowness of the order; I'd give them 5 stars. Note: this place only accepts credit/ debit cards. No cash.

Great place to get Hawaiian bbq if you’re in the area! My bf got the chicken pupu, and he loved it. I tried a piece and wish I had gotten it too! Their chicken katsu was the best I’ve ever had! The macaroni is overly peppery, in my opinion. But my bf who loves things to be heavily seasoned really liked it. Beef teriyaki was good but not amazing. It was easy to order. We gave the employee a name and phone number, and they texted when it was ready. The person taking orders had a mask on, but none of the kitchen staff did, but they had the back door open for ventilation. We would eat here again next time we are in the area. Gotta have more chicken pupu!

I came here during the lunch rush and waited a decent amount of time for my food. I ordered the $5 combo with Kalua pork. When I got my order, I noticed they gave me the wrong drink. I was just thinking maybe they have a cool green colored fruit punch. It was Mountain Dew, which I'm not a fan of, but I was in a hurry to get back to work so I didn't worry about a drink. When I got to the break room at work, I saw the receipt and it was the wrong order completely. I was #43 and they gave me order #44 which was Pupu chicken. It was my first time here and I heard a customer saying he always orders the Pupu chicken so I wasn't going to complain. I'm the guy who shows up to the party if you say free food. Despite getting the wrong order, I was very satisfied with my food. The chicken was great, the macaroni salad is better than your family's macaroni salad at every summer BBQ. It was super good. I will be back to get the pork next time. Friendly staff.
