Very welcoming hostess and server. Great selection of excellent in house prepared Italian specialties. Nice Caesar salad starter plus a super brown butter and pasta dish. My chicken piccata was very flavorful with a superb sauce and fresh veggies as well as some homemade pasta. Roasted quail was a nice choice as well. Very good tiramisu. Fair prices. Simple neighborhood ambience.

I guess I expected more with how much people give great reviews. Went for brunch and had their spaghetti and meatballs. It tasted pretty good, but was really heavy. It seemed like a lot of olive oil or something. There was also a hair on one of the plates and a small piece of cloth fiber in one of my meatballs. I'm guessing their dinner options are tasty.

Appetizer and bread were delicious. After waiting 45 minutes for our dinner we were very disappointed. Pork chop was served cold with cold sauce and cold vegetables. Over cooked at medium and served cold. My wife's salmon was warm but way over cooked and dry. The meal was truly overpriced garbage. We will never go back. So many better places to eat for the money. Also, it very loud inside. If you want a relaxing quiet dining experience this place is not for you. I hated it

We occasionally come here for a lovely night out, and the food is always excellent. It's a crowded little space, but in a cute and welcoming way. On our recent visit we had the chicken piccata and the squid ink pasta with spicy shrimp and squid. Both were fantastic, and good portions. However, it wasn't a perfect experience. For a starter we had the agnolotti del plin, which tasted good, but was too rich for us. It was actually a bit of a chore to finish the dish, even split two ways, as there was about an entire melted stick of butter that the pasta was swimming in. Our waitress upsold us in getting the bread along with it "to soak up the butter", and although the bread itself was delicious, it turned out to be nauseating to try to soak up the butter with it. It was an absurd excess of butter, and even though we avoided the liquid butter, it was still enough to ruin our appetite for the dessert we'd been looking forward to. The one other thing I'll mention is that they've instituted a 3% fee for the kitchen staff. This is a real peeve of mine. Tipping is already annoying—just charge me the actual price of your operation up front, like in most other industries and in restaurants in most other civilized countries—but it is an American cultural tradition. But now extra enforced tipping for the kitchen staff? Just pay them more and increase the prices of your dishes by 3%. Don't try to claim lower up front prices and then hide a charge at the back end. Just don't. You'll claim it's not in place of a gratuity, but you know what? I'll decide that it is. Because that extra fee is NOT an American cultural tradition, and you have no leg to stand on charging that.

Recommended by some locals, we were excited to have dinner at the Trattoria with our in-town adult kids, who made the reservation. The starter (non-complimentary) loaves of focaccia bread were quite good, and they replenished the balsamic vinegar in one of the bowls as it ran out. A White Salad was ordered as well, and we all thought it was good and refreshing as we all had a couple of bites to finish it off. We also shared the beef carpaccio, very tasty, but scantily meated. Entrees included lamb ragus (quite good) gnocchi (well liked but one-dimensional), and a spaghetti and meatballs, thoroughly enjoyed. After dinner coffee, port, and two tiramisu’s were enjoyed and we were all very satisfied. The tiramisu was really, really good. We had our server open a bottle of wine that we brought, and we purchased a bottle of Super Tuscan that we enjoyed, but it came out late as it was hard to open. Overall, we all had a very nice evening with good quality food and good service, as they were friendly and trying hard to meet the needs of the busy restaurant. I was close to giving a “5” rating except that it is a very small place just full of tables which contributes to the ambiance that is a little lacking. There is also a communal bathroom right off the dining room. The prices are quite high, and they add a 3% labor surcharge to the bill in addition to tip expectations (spelled out on menu). They also do not allow any additions or subtractions to your meals (also spelled out). The Italia Trattoria really cares about their food, excellent, and for that reason We would return.

Everything was exceptional.. friendly and prompt service, amazing cocktails, and delicious food. One of the best dining experiences I’ve had. I will be thinking about that meal for a long time. Major compliments to the chefs!!

This is my 2nd time here. We 1st came for dinner a year ago, and only positive things to say. We got the lamb ragu and polenta Lasagna. I ordered the baked eggs for brunch and it was fantastic. Their fresh pastries are also amazing. Our waitress seems distracted and that she was having a hard time servicing our table. Wasn't too much of an issue except for the food coming out slightly cold and by another waitress. Would definitely come back for another meal, a lot of dedication and experience goes into their menu.

Dined here last night and had some disappointing dishes. The rabbit ravioli was sickening sweet, my quail was dry and the vegetables it was served with were not done correctly. Both of these dishes’ flavor profiles show a chef’s lack of maturity. The lamb ragù was good, but that’s not saying much. The portions were a good size; not too large, but the prices are all too high for mediocre Italian fare. The service was good, although very very long waits for everything.

Went for Sunday brunch. I got a bagel and lox, a fresh made pasterie and a cappuccino. The star of the show is the freshly made pastries. I wish I had taken pictures of the bagel and lox as it was pretty skimpy on what you received for $16, although I will say that their garlic cream cheese blend is pretty good. I do wish there were more of it as there was just enough for a light spread. There wasn't enough lox to cover my bagel, and the same with the tomato. Although bagel with lox is one of my favorites I probably would never order this from there again and try something else on their menu. I don't get the feeling this is their specialty. My friend got a pasta dish that they swear is the best in town. I do wish I would have tried that instead. The cappuccino wasn't bad however I only got the cappuccino because they do not have any sugar-free flavors for any other type of coffee drinks. They also don't have a selection of sugar-free artificial sweeteners to put in coffee. It was just Splenda. The restaurant itself is very small, and reservations were needed for brunch. That confused me because our hostess that seated us looked disheveled, as well as the rest of the staff looked very casual. There is nothing wrong with casual, but if I have to make reservation, it makes me feel like I need to be dressed a certain way in which I most certainly did not. Lastly the parking... It's street parking, and depending on the time you get there you may find a spot or you may have to park somewhere along the street and take a little walk to get to the restaurant.

I am retired from 30 years in fine dining (The Four Seasons in Cary NC and Kiawah Island Resort in Charleston SC). I also worked as a spotter for 4 and 5 star hotels out of Dallas TX for 3 years. This spot is doing everything right. The service was impeccable, yet not at all over bearing. It is expensive, but not for the fine dining eccletic dishes that you will find nowhere else in Spokane. Fine dining on this level is known for tiny portions, but not here. Portions are very generous by the industry standard. I sat at a table of 10 and the food presentation was excellent, the execution of timing was perfection. The restaurant was immaculate throughout. Dont be fooled by the lack of white table clothes, this is fine dining at its best. We had a disabled guest, and she was accommodated immediately. The bar is great (my position in my career was Beverage Director). The bar is small, but highly organized. They have a solid premium selection. All labels were perfectly face forward and bottles were sparkling clean. I was surprised that they didnt have silver pours facing left on the bottles, as it would make measured pours so much easier and faster (and alittle prettier). If their concern is bugs getting in the bottle, a golf tee fits perfectly in the silver pourers (trust me). I thought the owner was delightful. She genuinely engaged with our disabled guest. While many Spokane restaurants throw white table cloths on the table and charge exorbinant prices, this spot is the real deal.

Simply the best food in Spokane because Anna Vogel is the best chef around, bar none, and Beth is the most amazing and capable host.

My husband's ragout was better than my dish. Overall good food though. Sat on patio. Was a bit more casual than dining in the restaurant. Would have preferred that. Some of the dishes listed below were not available when we went, which was a shame.

With no hesitation, some of the best food we have had in a long time! Painstaking attention to detail on the flavors and presentation of everything we had was evident as a top priority for this restaurant. Our group of five were greeted warmly and spoiled with the service encountered here. Not on the list for a weekly visit in our budget, we are still looking to rationalize just when we get to go back. Highly recommend!

So good but expensive staff are amazing

Perfect......Could have used a few less Brussel Sprouts......! Flavors were superb.....service was great considering the place was FULL.....I alwasy like that place....REcomennnd reservations for sure!

We had a wonderful dinner. The pork chop was one of the best I have ever had. Unexpected. The lamb ragu was really good too. The octopus app was outstanding and drink very good. We will definitely be coming back!

Italia Trattoria has been a long standing favorite of mine. I have had brunch and many dinners with them and service is always exceptional only outshined by the amazing food and drinks. The menu is a beautiful arrangement of authentic Italian dishes without being all pasta! Without question, I highly recommend Italian Trattoria to all!

everything was delicious as always! the wait staff is amazing and so knowledgeable about the food/wine! we tried a few new things tonight and they did not disappoint! although it did not compare to our usual favorites. the only downside was the wait time for our food took a really long time. it took almost an hour for us to get our main courses. but i know valentine’s day can be busy, and i appreciated the servers for being so communicative and kind throughout

Really love this restaurant. I moved down one on food, but likely that was my ordering choice. It’s a small restaurant so better for small groups. Four, maybe six tops. This and wild sage are my go to. They’re not cheap but reasonably Priced.

The good was amazing, I loved it. It was very pricey!! But, it was Valentine's Day so they might have had a different menu. But I highly recommend. We will def go back and enjoy again, even if pricey!

One of Spokane's best restaurants. Especially enjoy brunch

It was my first time having brunch at Italia Trattoria. It was a delicious breakfast. They know how to cook eggs. The eggs Benedict was delicious. My friend enjoyed every bite. I had the egg scramble with mushrooms. The eggs were perfectly cooked, very favorable and soft. We will return…

Small place, excellent service and food. Due to the size it can get quite loud, hard to have a conversation due to noise level.

I have dined at Italia Trattoria many times for Brunch and Dinner. I love the neighborhood environment. Cozy casual atmosphere feels European. The service is always stellar the employees obviously love their job and it shows. The food is consistently well presented and delicious. The creative menu makes dining here an adventure.

Wonderful, delicious brunch is affordable. The only downside is it can be very crowded because there tables are spaced close together. :)

The food was delicious and the service was very good. The focaccia bread is so good and the perfect texture. LOVED the spinach and ricotta dumplings.

The food not so much. The sauce for the wild boar was not good and the Caesar salad dressing was too oily and did not have any flavor. We told our server we were not happy with the food but she didn’t care and just walked away. We are very sad our experience was not good because we have wanted to go for so long. While we understand the purpose of the auto-gratuity for kitchen staff, it should be built into the prices. Forcing patrons to tip, especially when they are not happy with the food or experience, should not happen.

My daughters Ravioli came out cold in the middle and my fish was very strong. Dinner reservations schedule at 5:30 so we could get to our show at 7PM. Dinner arrived at 6:45 and we had to eat very fast and leave. I did not notify them about the food until we left. We did not have any time to explain. This is the first disappointing meal I have had at this establishment

Italia Trattoria is my favorite restaurant in Spokane. It was a tradition when I came to town to enjoy a meal at Italia Trattoria. My daughter is moving and I’m genuinely sad I won’t be visiting again. It was a must do before we left town.

This is the best breakfast place in town if you want something special. House made pastries that will change your life. Poached eggs in a gruyere sauce will make you rethink breakfast.

It’s all about the food. Amazing food. The wild boar was sublime. Sending someone anywhere else in Spokane (or the Inland NW) for Italian food, is crazy.

The menu is very unique and it was hard to choose an entree, as there were so many choices. We did the wild boar which came out as almost a stew, very hearty meal great flavors, and very filling. Also had the roasted sausage stuffed quail, the meal was fantastic. Service was great, felt very cozy and friendly.

I have been here a few times, and tonight was better than ever. Photos are Grilled Octopus, Coulette Steak, and Seared Tuna that was the special tonight. Ambience and atmosphere, Italia Trattoria never dissapoints me. Final photo is the fresh pear dessert.

Seated quickly(made reservations) served promptly but felt a little ignored due to no alcohol purchases. A little too cramped for my liking but main course and dessert were delicious. Caesar salad was nothing to rave about but the rest of the meal made up for it.

Kelsi was such a great server. Made us feel like we were the only ones in the restaurant. Food was good and we had such an enjoyable evening.

My friends and I enjoyed our evening at Italia Trattoria. We each ordered something different, and we all loved our meals. The polenta lasagne is delicious as well as the steak, chicken piccata and lamb ragu pasta. We will be back as there are more dishes that we want to try. Our favorite appetizer is the Ricotta Spinach Dumplings. It is a “ must” have. Buon Appetito!

Order the bread service, it's such yummy bread! Me and hubs got the squid ink fettuccine and the gnocchi the fettuccine was very good, the gnocchi was a little bland but still good. Dessert we had tiramisu and bread pudding which were both fantastic! Service was great, drinks were good, and prices weren't bad. The only thing we didn't love was how close the tables are but it is a small restaurant so it's understandable.

Atmosphere is lovely and the food is wonderful but it is really pricey and I would consider it a special occasion type of place. Definitely falls under the category of pricey but worth it. And remember there's a 3% kitchen charge, and standard tipping is still expected

Great place for dinner, but the Sunday brunch is where the value is. It is the same price as most of the other breakfast places in Spokane (~$14-21), but the food is significantly better.

Night out with my honey. Sat at the bar for a lovely meal that included an endive salad with truffle oil dressing, Sole filet and lamb rack with chimichuri and chanterelle mushrooms ending with afagato and cognac. The dishes were well balanced and we both commented on the perfect use of salt in the dishes. Thx for a great evening.😊

Excellent as usual, my favorite restaurant to go go for special occasions. I've never had any disappointing meals. The menu is always refreshing, adding new items, changing things up. I highly recommend as I always do if someone asks me to suggest a good place for dinner.

This was my favorite restaurant in Spokane, but it did slip a bit on this last trip. The food was excellent, and the waitress was superb, but it seemed to take longer than normal to get things out of the kitchen. They do need some acoustic tiles on the ceiling to deaden the noise.
