Awesome food, with a bar for quick easy ordering..

Food was great, traveled about 45 min to come for dinner. Ordered pulled pork, ribs, burgers, chicken and a variety of sides and everyone was satisfied. Hearty portions and hot fresh food! Glad to have eaten here.

Was in the area and wanted to go out, this was recommended. I wish I had them at home! Excellent food, great pricing, huge portions. One of the best value-for-money dining experiences I've had in many years. Pork steak was great, ribs were tender, tried the pulled pork and loved it. Mac and cheese was creamy and real cheese, potatoes were good. Highly recommended.

Im a former local that came through on a nostalgia trip. This wasnt here before (its been a while) and the reviews were good. Wow, these folks knock it outta the park. I ordered pulled pork because I thought "small portions".... Lol, dumb. They almost broke the plate with some of the juiciest, tender and smokey pulled pork to grace my eyes! Wow! Add in deliciously tangy and (smokey?) baked beans and hearty potato salad. Im in heaven. Service was fast, people were just as friendly as I remember. What a wonderful experience!

First visit on 3/16/24 gave a very good first impression. I had the half smoked chicken and it was excellent: fall-apart tender and it had a wonderful sweet chewy coating. Super friendly staff too. I wish I lived closer.

The pulled pork is atrocious !! You can tell they use really low quality meat and ingredients and it taste freezer burnt ( I gave it 3 tries in a year). Absolutely the worst I've ever had . On a scale of 1-10 I'd give jays a negative 5 . The pulled pork is so bad I gave it to my dog. No one there knows how to bbq and it shows in the food . Bring back Jay yall have ruined this bbq place.

Driving around southeast Missouri, I passed through the town of Maple Hill. Where I found Jay’s. What a fantastic find! I ordered the brisket dinner, which came with two sides - I got fried okra and mac & cheese. And I also ordered their chocolate pie (they had coconut cream, chocolate peanut butter, and some other flavor, all freshly made) It was a football field of fried okra, but it was so crunchy and tasty that I almost ate all of it! The brisket was thinly sliced, very smoky and tender. I got the barbecue sauce on the side, and it was also good. The mac & cheese was just mac & cheese, but I figured for leftovers it’s going to be mixed with brisket so it’s going to be thoroughly excellent. The chocolate pie was really wonderful. A very large piece, lovely chocolate flavor, the crust was kind of like a puff pastry, and it was just really good. The bathrooms were clean, service was quick on my takeout and it’s easy to get to, so go! Stopped here in November 2023, got the Port steak, which was phenomenal. My brother loved the “real“ mashed potatoes, that had the addition of garlic. I had a half smoked chicken, and it was fall off the bone good. We also got cherry cobbler, which kind of looked like a mess in the to-go container, but was full of cherries and crispy oat bits. Excellent stuff!

All I can say is, the food is so good! Don't overlook this place if you are going through Marble Hill. Best food in town!

Great food, I got the smoked 1/2 chicken. It's fork tender and delicious. The cold slaw was also amazing, sweet and creamy.

This place is wonderful in every aspect, food is all great, hard to make a decision on what to get, service is wonderful, always friendly, she's the first one to help when the community has a crisis, couldn't ask for better food, service, friendly atmosphere. Just love it!!

It looks smaller from the outside than it is for sure. The person helping me recommended the half chicken which was amazing. The beans where definitely good too. They also had pork steaks and pulled pork. The green beans looked amazing. Next time I will try them for sure.

Good BBQ but not as good as it was when Jay owned it.. something different because when you live in a small town but basically only has a McDonald's and Jay's BBQ then you go to Jay's BBQ because you can get better food and even healthier choices if you want them.. Let me say this and it is respectfully said about this Jay's Barbecue and the entire city back in the hills of Missouri. I am a Black old man (smile) from Memphis, Tennessee. I along with my nephew, visits Marble Hill at least three (3) times a month doing business with a GREAT, I repeat GREAT business man and his two (2) sons name DAVE, Wow, what a great family to do business with. Kind...I wish there was a better word for them to us. But in Marble Hill......there may or may not be any Blacks, the town is just adorable. I could care less, but it is a town that I long could be all over America, no strife seems to be there in any way. THE PEOPLE THERE and ESPECIALLY JAY'S BARBECUE EATERY......treats us SO KIND and with the utmost DELIGHT when we come to Marble Hill to do business and we eat there....WOW IS THE FOOD THE BEST....and they do not spare in giving you the best helpings and respectfully service. Wow I wish I could rate them higher than the high. Friends....if you are traveling through Missouri, get to Jackson off I-55, take your time......about 20 minutes off the Express Way and please go to Marble Hill to Jay's Barbecue and eat. Google your way...the picture shows you the eatery. The town, so serene, the people are so kind, wow I wish Memphis was this way. To all of you at the Jay's Barbecue ....keep up the great works in serving your city the best, and where some of the best people go to dine. We moved to Southeast Missouri almost 4 years ago from Kansas City. We ate at several barbecue places in the area and didn't really like any of them. A friend called us "barbecue snobs". Finally, a friend recommended Jay's barbecue in Marble Hill. We had the chicken it was excellent! It had a good flavor and it was not dry. Everything that we tried was great; even the baked potato. There is a side call "chow-chow". It is awesome. It has a sweet hot flavor. They have homemade pies which are wonderful. We have finally found our favorite barbecue place!
