This place is hard to beat!! You won't be disappointed !! Just had the battered shrimp and chicken and wild rice soup. It's absolutely amazing. Super friendly staff!! No reason to go anywhere else!!

This place was great. Went in and the place was packed and unfortunately understaffed. However they managed to pull together a table for our large group of ten. Waitress was kind and friendly. Drinks were good and stiff. Atmosphere was a perfect blend of north woods charm but modern amenities. Had the walleye dinner and mussel starter which were fantastic. Only nock was the side rice wasn't the best. Maybe to much water while cooking. Would go again those mussels yum!

Food was great. Mussels and clams appetizer for the table. My husband was skeptical about ordering mussels for appetizers but at the end he loved it anyways. They all have good flavors. Most of us ordered walleye dinner special for that day. All the different flavors was to the liking of every each of us who ordered different spices. The tartar sauce was really good and it did complimented with the walleye. The rice had good flavor but it was a bit too wet. My mom ordered Reuben sandwich and she loved it. The fries needed a little more frying as she stated but it has good flavor as well. We all ordered cocktails and everything was great and had ample amount of alcohol in it. Service was great, our server was very attentive to us and provided us a good service for 10 people. She was great in suggestive selling. The ambience on the place was cool, it did fit the cabin look inside and outside. Place was pack when we came and needed us to wait to sit 10 people. The air conditioning system wasnt working that made it a little too warm with so much people in there. Overall, we agreed we’ll definitely visit it again when were up in the area.

Beautiful rehab of the old Charlie’s. The food is unbelievable in presentation and quality. A true gem in the Northwoods. My only qualm is the bartender/server. We’ve been in here several times over the past 2 years and not once have I felt like she’s wanted us there. We are treated more of an inconvenience than a patron. If the chefs’ wife is at the forefront of the business, she should smile, make eye contact, and make her customers feel like they’re wanted. She’s the only thing keep this from a 5 star review.

Ribeye cooked perfectly! Salmon delicious ! PB bacon burger creamy goodness! Walleye fingers were great lightly breaded! Appreciated the plating and presentation of each meal! We will come back !

Came for a friends bachelor party and was blown away! Leann was so kind and did a great job dealing with 20 of us. Food was out of this world. One of the better Ribeyes I’ve had in a while. Atmosphere was also fantastic. Highly recommend!

Visited with friends for the first time today. Great service, bartender was super attentive and friendly, food came in record time and it was AMAZING!! I had the ribeye, so so good!! This place will certainly go on our regular rotation!!

We’ve been in many times, always the best food and atmosphere. We’re lucky to be from the area and have enjoyed everything…..pizza, burgers, fish fry and shrimp and of course the wonderful deserts. The owners are wonderful, great chef, great drinks, always smiling and friendly. This is our go to place!!

Really awesome fish and shrimp…. Pretty unfriendly staff. We may go back for the food …. We shall see…. Staff need to figure out how to treat their guests. Seemed like we were more of an inconvenience than patrons…. “Can I have a water please?” Eye roll from the server. Really….. poor service will close you down.

A hidden gem, for sure! We were out for a drive and stumbled upon this place. We initially were going to have a quick appetizer and keep driving, but their menu looked too good to pass up. I indulged in a Key Lime Martini which tasted like dessert. Then had a side salad with their Honey Basalmic Glazed Salmon and (must have) shrimp. My boyfriend had their meat lovers pizza. We both loved the service, atmosphere, and food. Prices were also very reasonable. Will definitely be back!

Chicken Ceaser salad is amazing. Fresh ingredients and homemade dressing. Also the burger and hand cut fries are fantastic. All their food is fantastic. Really nice people as well. Family owned.

Came upon The Shack randomly when we were staying very close by at a Cabin on Moose Lake. We pulled in for happy hour on a Thursday afternoon and had a delicious onion bloom, crab wontons and the absolute best hand-dipped cheese curds. Trust, we have had our fair share of Wisconsin cheese curds. There was an entire “hand-dipped” section of the menu, which was very much appreciated. We decided to make a reservation for the Friday night fish fry and it did not disappoint. The walleye was perfectly cooked and the seasoning was one of the best our family has tried. The homemade tartar sauce was “top one” ever. Do not at me on that. It’s facts. The pizza, drinks, beer selection, and atmosphere was top notch. Leann the owner and server made us feel like when we were there, we were family. This is a place that if you are hunting and fishing in Wisconsin, you will want to try.

Great place that is just off the 4-wheeling trail that we found last year and now we stop both trips every year. Love the food, drinks and atmosphere. Prime rib, steaks and desserts were top notch. Came back again & honestly I didn't think the food & service could have been better....but it did!! Can't wait until next spring's trip!! Filet & prime rib are absolutely amazing!!

Great bar and restaurant tucked into the North woods. If you want great service and some high end, tasty food, this is the place to go. We tried the salmon with house salad and wild rice soup - Excellent! Lots of exposed logs and wood paneling. The Homemade pizza also looks good. The walnut brownie in a little skillet with ice cream was awesome.

Excellent prime rib and also salmon. Old fashioned excellent, food brought out timely and very hot. Great friendly service. Will definitely return.

Stumbled upon this place during 2023 CHARAC Art Crawl. Came for a late lunch. Ordered the mussels appetizer, then thought "oops...maybe should have ordered something more Northwoods Bar-like". OMG the mussels were prepared perfect and tasted fantastic. Had salads and will definitely be back to try some of the dinner selections. Nice selection of specialty cocktails if you're tired of beer :) Friendly staff, great service and outstanding food!!

Very friendly staff and Best food at a Wisconsin bar yet. You can tell that everything is made from scratch. Stopped in for just a couple apps but the owner was nice enough to give us a sample of the prime rib which was Sooo good!!! Will definitely be back for a full meal soon.

I have been visiting Moose Lake for summer and winters for over a decade and it is great to have a new place to eat and drink on the Lake, well close to the Lake. My first visit was on a Friday during snowmobile season and the restaurant was packed, which is great to see. We had the walleye special and a couple of drinks. Food was very good and served in a timely matter. Staff was very good. Nice to see the owners getting their hands dirty serving food and drinks. Cannot wait to go back when its less crowded to get to talk to them. Good mixed crowd of young and old. I will be back and Welcome to the Moose JB's

Great place over by Moose Lake. Newly renovated and classy looking! Owners are great and open year around. Small but solid menu - the burger and fries are worth the visit!! Update - had a wonderful dinner here. Filet mignon was delicious and cooked perfectly along with a Caeser salad, wild rice soup, and crab wontons of course. Everything was great! Plenty of wine and beer to accompany the meal. Definitely worth your dinner stop!

Stopped in for a beer and sandwich around dinner time on a Saturday. It got very busy very quickly and the bartender and cook (the owners I think) did an amazing job even when obviously swamped. The BLT was delicious! We will definitely be back.

Loved this place! All the industrial touches were fantastic! It was clean and smelled good, owner was super friendly and food was GREAT! I only gave it a 4 because I don’t eat beef or seafood, so, it really only left me a salad for my food choice, since I also don’t do grains, so, pizza wasn’t gonna work. The rest of my party loved the foods they had. I did taste my husbands pizza and it was wonderful. Would love to see more options next year for those of us on a bit stricter diet plan and maybe a cauliflower pizza crust 😃. We are going back again tonight so the rest of my group can try more of the foods. So, now I’ve gotta add that I didn’t know what the pork prime rib was, so, didn’t know if I could or would eat it, but, IT WAS FANTASTIC! others had the beef prime rib and a burger and everyone was very happy!!!!! We will come back next year while in Hayward

I was in the area this weekend with my girlfriend and this place was recommended to us from our wonderful bartender Pam at Dows and WOW was this the best place we had been together possibly ever! The king cut beef prime rib will leave your mouth watering and wondering how they perfected the seasoning and marinading that was put into the dish. The mashed potatoes and broccoli were fresh and also very well prepared. We decided to start with the blooming onion that was amazing! It was nice to see the owners both working there, the owner that took care of us was very friendly and made great drinks. Overall a great spot to get some food and drinks if you are in the area! I will be back for the prime rib!

Stopped in for the first time ever to grab a bite after work , the place was renovated recently and it looks sharp as heck! Very cool place and the food was top notch, made from scratch wontons and a bichin BLT , the waitress made me a secret drink called "The Shark Attack " good stuff. All in all i look forward to me next visit.

A Gem in the Woods. Our party of 7 ordered Appetizers, Entrée’s and Drinks and everything was delicious. Leann our waitress/bartender was prompt courteous and made excellent drinks. The owner actually took time and came out of the kitchen to see if we were enjoying the food. Portions were large. The Wild Rice Soup is a must to have with your entrée.

Charlie retired, but the New owners were super friendly. Drinks were great as were the hors d'oeuvres. Food is limited but they owner said will be adding more yummy dishes to the menu. Check it out of your near Moose lake.

Was a great stop on the sxs, we had a large group 15 of us, and the owner was the only one behind the bar, she knew what she was doing and was on top of everything!! Very organized and definitely would go there again!! Thank you 😊
