We shared 2 vegetarian platters among 4 people and had plenty of delicious food for all of us! The food was incredible and service was delightful. Will be back for sure!

Martha is as amazing as her food! She makes veggies taste better than meat anywhere else, plus the platters let you try everything in case you're indecisive. Definitely worth getting the crispy injera appetizer, too; tastes great on its own and is great dipped in the other dishes!

The food was wonderful. Got my food in a reasonable time. Diverse ethnicity of costumers and the atmosphere was very welcoming.

I've done take out several times and really enjoy the special kitfo raw.

The food is great and the lady who runs the restaurant is really kind. The Jebena combo is a really good value, it could feed 3-4 people.

There are lots of Ethiopian spots, but the best is here at Jebena. Everything is made fresh daily. The flavors, presentation, are amazing. There's always a rock steady flow of customers. It's not a big space so you gotta come in and make sure you're not starving cuz it's made from scratch which takes a bit to bring it all together. Definitely worth the wait though. Family vibes and your Ethiopian mom if you ever wanted one. 😆

I tried the Qey Wot which is the lamb curry. I would recommend this as a signature dish for the Ethiopian cuisine. The Doro Wot is good as well. The Vegetarian Combination is one the simplest food that I’ve ever tasted and perhaps the best way for vegetarians to start. Ethiopian cuisine compared to Indian cuisine is simpler and may not necessarily be liked by all, but I felt if you wanted to try Ethiopian this is a good place. The staff was warm and friendly and it was a pleasant experience for us.

What a gem! Absolutely amazing and personal service- this place has true heart and takes pride in their food. I'm vegetarian- and a dedicated lover of Ethiopian food since I first tried it on the nineties. So the veggie combo is a must for me. This one was remarkable for being very fresh with good spicing. I would say on the generally mild to medium end (but definitely not bland). The salad was fresh and tasty. They have vegetarian samosas filled with lentils, spices, and not sure what else- served with an Ethiopian green salsa that was delish! Service was outstanding- I have to reiterate that. Also, it was clean and cute inside. It doesn't have alcohol as far as I noticed (as an FYI to anyone wanting it). Fantastic overall, if I lived closer I would be a regular! Bravo!

They patiently explained each dish, its unique flavors, and the perfect way to enjoy it with injera. It felt like being welcomed into their home for a delightful Ethiopian feast. Not to mention, this feast was quite affordable compared to typical Seattle fare. This feast, with sodas and an appetizer came to just over $30. If you're looking for an escape from the ordinary, a place where taste buds awaken and new favorites are discovered, then Jebena Cafe is a must-visit. I’m a big fan of Ethiopian food and Jebena never disappoints. Cute and cozy inside and the sweetest lady runs it. All the vegetable dishes are vegan so vegans have plenty of choices. My husband loves the meat dishes as well. I’m a fan of the vegetarian combo-SO much food! You’ll most likely be taking some home if you don’t decide to share. I’ve been here many times and I’ll definitely be back.

Lovely experience here today trying the Jebena Combo! Meats and veggies were amazing and of good portion. Spices and flavors on point and hard to place at times. How do they get that lamb so spicy and tangy!? Mysteriously Authentic! Offering “Mexican” Coke, Fanta & Sprite was a surprise and a nice touch. The proprietor is so attentive and kind! We enjoyed our conversation with her and let her know that we love lots of cheese with our Ethiopian meals so she obliged. They definitely have the good stuff! Will try coffee and beer next visit. Sooo yummy!! My husband and I love Ethiopian food- it’s so full of flavor and it’s so saucy- always a good choice. Plus, they have great vegan and vegetarian options. We got the veggie combo which was so filling and delicious. We also got two samosas to start with and they were so tasty! Not too greasy but still crispy and flavourful. This is a great choice, come give it a try!

My first experience of Ethiopian food, and how amazing it was at Jebena Cafe 🤩. I found it just like home made Indian food. We tried Meat combo 3 which had chicken, lamb and lentil gravies. We also ordered Doro Wot but had to pack it for home as we were all full with combo only 😊 I highly recommend visiting this place.

I went to Jebena Cafe with 5 of my friends. The place has an intimate setting with a lively atmosphere. Martha, our host, was absolutely gracious and positive. She gave us wonderful recommendations and we ended up getting Lamb Tibs, Jebena combination and Special Kitfo. We went family style sharing the food and that added to the experience. The food was the best Ethiopian I have had in Seattle so far. Much recommended! Thanks you!

My boyfriend and I visited this place, and we instantly knew it was going to become our comfort food for as long as we are in seattle! Cozy inside, VERY fresh ingredients, really great value for how full we both were by the end of the night! What an unexpected treat! We looked for a local lunch restaurant while in the neighborhood, and Jabena Cafe was so good we will be back. It is cheerful, pretty and immaculate inside. The Samosa was the best I have ever had anywhere. We got a meat sampler, #18, and brought whatever we could not eat home. It was delicious, with tender meat, flavorful. Very pleasant experience!

The meat accentuates the sauces, but the sauces are the stars of the meal. The injera are the perfect size and consistency for collecting the food, adding a little sourness. Absolutely delicious. Food comes out super quickly, we were in and out in 30 mins. And you can get a combination (#18 is pictured) for $20 which feeds two with a bit leftover unless you’re super hungry. I have been to a few other Ethiopian restaurants in the city and Jebena is my favorite. From the outside it is unassuming so don’t confuse it with its neighbor, its on the far right of the strip. Qey Wot (lamb) is the best I have had in the city. Make sure you get it in a combo or alone.
