Don't let the wait outside discourage you. I only waited for 10 minutes and discovered the food was more than worth the wait! They took my order and served it pretty quickly. I would say that Jerry's alone is worth a stop in Gallup.

The best place in town. They took us in 15 minutes before closing time with a smile. The food is the best Mexican food I have had in a very long time. truly delicious.

My daughter and I stopped in here on our way from Arizona to Michigan. We both had a fantastic meal and the service was awesome

I'm 28 years old. Been going here since I was a baby and my parents have been coming here since they were kids. By far, the best restaurant in town. The wait for a table is 100% worth the food. The waitresses are great, always will refill your drinks, bring anything you need as a customer. As busy this place is constantly, the team is great at what they do.

The wait is very long if you have a big party say about 5+ and the place is very small, it get over crowded but that’s bc the food is fire!!!

After a 9 hour drive from California to New Mexico. We stopped for breakfast at Jerry’s Cafe. What a cool little 1950s spot. I ordered the Breakfast Sopapilla. My first time having this dish and It was lovely.

Wow! Not only is the food excellent, the feel of this place is SO good! A healing space ❤️ Makes us want to live in Gallup.

This place was the perfect stop after a very long day of driving! We came through Gallup last week and were so excited to find Jerry’s. It was full of locals, which is always a good sign, and the food was incredible! Portions were very large compared to the price, so you really get a good deal for your money. The complimentary sopaipillas were huge and so good! I’ve never had anything like them before. Would definitely recommend to anyone traveling through Gallup!

Stopped in while passing through Gallup, it was crowded at 3pm on a Friday and I think we were the only non-locals in there but it was Delicious! My first taste of NM food on our trip and I loved it! Everyone was very friendly, and it was a cool old diner. I’d come back again!

The salad had hair in it. Reluctant to look at the second one they brought out. Didn't bother to eat the salad.

I asked for Nacho Supreme. I asked if it came with lettuce tomatoes guacamole sour cream and jalapeños, I was told yes. I just got meat cheese and beans over chips. How is that a nacho supreme? This is why I stop eating here but I wanted to give it a shot again. Nope. Never again. Disappointed 😑

My girlfriend and I live in California, Gallup is her hometown. When I first saw her "Jerry's Cafe" sweater I wrongly assumed it was just a random Americana print, but now I understand why she represents this place. No exaggeration, best chiles I've ever had. I hope to come back some day.

This was supposed to be "the best Mexican food" gallup had to offer......not impressed at all. I had a combo plate with Chile Rellenos, Tamale, Tostada, and Taco with rice and beans on the side. Plate showed up, and no beans. I asked if they were coming..."we used those on the Tostada". 🤔 😒. Took sometime to get our waitress, or, A waitress to come by when we needed something. Atmosphere was like an old greasy spoon café which was cool for me. Overall, not worth the trip back for me.

Possibly the best Mexican food I have ever tasted. I am not even kidding. Why is it always the little out-of-the-way places always have the best food??? Staff was very friendly as well and obviously a lot of locals eating there tonight. I got our food to go so of course the nachos got a little soggy but man the flavor...I love spicy foods too from growing up in Louisiana and believe me the spice is definitely in this food. And then some LOL!!! It is a very old bldg but it was clean and kinda nostalgic which I actually appreciate. I recommend the nachos, Cherelle's favorite and the flat beef enchiladas with the fried egg on top. Both the red sauce and green sauce are quite spicy but phenomenal flavor. I felt as if the food was prepared by someone's grandmother...it tasted authentic and amazing. I will stop here again next time I pass thru Gallup for sure. 😎👍

This cafe lived up to the hype. We had about a 10 minute wait to be seated, but we were not disappointed. The staff was busy but very friendly and they kept our coffee cups filled. The burritos tasted fantastic, and the portions were large.

We drove 12 hours from San Diego CA to Gennaro's but they were closed at the time of our visit so we went to Jerry's and I think their food is 100 times better also the salsa was way better and we love the stuff Sopaipillas Christmas style. The seat was alittle tight with a full belly. Will return it 2024.

Excellent food and service, and highly recommended if you want an authentic New Mexican meal. Parking can be a bit of a challenge, but it's worth walking a few blocks. You won't regret it.

Great food at a very good price.

Had Jerry's 2 Chili relleno with red and green chili sauce. I have been missing New Mexican dishes with Hatch green chilies. (Lived in Santa Fe for 10+ yrs then moved to CA) Wow! Delicious egg batter, melted cheese in Hatch green chili. Ordered another to go for my wife. She ate them the following day, with smiles! Sopaipillas were hot, fluffy delicious. Service was prompt, caring, with deep experience. Much appreciated. Thank you guys. Will come back with my wife next time.

Stuffed sopapillas for breakfast! On a 10 day trip in New Mexico and Arizona, this was the best, hottest Green chile sauce of the trip. Prepare to wait outside for a bit before walking into the best food in town. I could eat their sopapillas for every meal and be a happy, happy gringo.

If you like greasy food coming out of a one gallon can & served at warm temperature(not hot), this is the place for you. Nice ambiance and good vibes, but the food quality is very dated, looks like cafeteria style servings. I would not take any one of my business associates there…

Honestly the burgers are quite small for what you pay for. Service was dull, waitress never came to check up on us. The hostess' are always having side conversations instead of having conversations with the Customers. It's been a while since I've been back for Jerry's, it'll be another long time for me to come back to this again. Also, didn't let us take To-go ice teas, Expected a full price ice tea to take. We got a Skimpy R' Us over here.

Stopped in this place while on my quest to find the best green chili smothered burrito in the southwest, while road tripping to spring training in Arizona. This place is so rad. It’s a retro narrow diner in old downtown Gallup. The neon lights are cool. Food was exactly what I wanted, green chili New Mexican food. Loved it! Will be back next year!

Absolutely fantastic food! Service is fast and efficient. Restaurant itself is pretty dated in appearance but that adds to the charm for some people. Will be back.

The food is good, especially the red and green chili. Today we did a "pickup order".. the guy that took my order was not nice..i felt like I being rushed. Ordered 4 items, got home only had 3. Call to see if they charge us, lucky no. They he said ,"next time say 2 orders". Make sure u have menu when u call. Year later, the food was good, a lot of food. Our server was very nice, greeted us, checked on us and very friendly. The booth seats to be fixed, the person sitting behind us moved around alot made the booth moved, very annoying. Over all this visit was good.

Ordered the ribeye and enchiladas ..everything was outstanding from the fresh made red and green chile to the homemade sopapilla

An authentic diner in Gallup perhaps *the* authentic diner. Full of locals when we visited - always the best sign. The Don Carlos(ribeye covered with red and green chiles and cheese) was perfect. The Sopapillas with honey are awesome - light, hot, and tasty.

Holy moly, was this place good! We got the #1 and the #3 combos and they were both wonderful. Service was very quick and staff very friendly. We lucked out getting there around 220pm on a Monday and were seated immediately, but by the time we left there was a wait. It's a small place but not overly loud.

Good local Mexican fare. Down to earth, very casual. Friendly service. We ordered the Te Gusta and Miguel’s Delight and both were good. We loved the fried bread and it was nice to add a bit of honey. There was a line to get in but we got a seat in 10 minutes.

I had the chicken fried steak, and it was delicious and blew my expectations. I do highly recommend giving this place a visit if you are looking for a good place to eat. It is a small place. Staff was friendly, and I will definitely return to try other items on the menu.

Ate here for lunch to go. Had the food ready in 15 minutes with a pretty busy lunch crowd. The hostess and wait staff was so nice to us, very friendly service. Ordered a steak burrito with fries and Miguel's Delight both smothered in red chili, the food was delicious and came with a sopapilla and tortilla on the side, a very nice and delicious surprise! Will eat here again. Hopefully can make it for breakfast next time because the red chili and eggs would be delicious! Was about 15 bucks per person with drinks and food to go. Depending on what you order anyway.

A classic spot in downtown Gallup. This little place is always busy. It's usually too busy for me when I'm traveling through. But this time the wait list was short and I stayed. Service was excellent. Vanessa was my server and she kept my coffee cup full. Not only did she serve endless coffee, the entire wait staff did too. This is a fast paced environment. People in and out. A small place but if your willing to wait then it is the place to have a nice meal.

I was looking for a diner in a small town during my travels. This diner was everything I expected. I got the combination plate w/ mixed sauce and 2 eggs “sunny”.

This place is an awesome restaurant. Food, service and atmosphere were outstanding! The steak and enchilada plate had just the right amount of heat and the vegetable rice soup was one of the best soups I have ever tasted. The sopaipilla with the homemade honey was a perfect dessert!

This place was beyond amazing! The flavors of the salsa and the green chili was fabulous! The service was great and we were seated quickly, there was even a line out the door. I can’t want to come back here!

Very tasty food authentic. In my travels if you find a place like Jerry’s that there is more locals than travelers you know the food has got to be good. We had breakfast today the wife had a traditional breakfast mine had beans and a Sopaipilla very good . Friendly staff attentive. My coffee never got below half.

We were traveling through and stopped for lunch. Best meal in the last three states! The sopapilla (never had it) was amazing. Spicy and tasty sauces. But the service was best of all. The place was packed with locals and it was a Mecca experience. We’ll be back!

We were in Albuquerque for their Balloon Fiesta and couldn’t find a really good New Mexican restaurant. On our way home, we stopped at Jerry’s and found the perfect place! We had their Jerry’s Stuffed Sopapilla, Cherelle’s Choice with a side order of sopapillas with honey. They were so busy! But everyone was hustling and so friendly! If you’re ever in Gallup, you need to try this place!!

The food wasn't what I expected. Service was good, staff friendly. Food was not spicy. Plate was full of sauce. Rice wasn't cooked all the way,beans blah. Sopapillas good.

Well first of all the place is way too small .they crammed all the tables on top of each other seems to sit as many people as possible.... If there was a fire in the place people would trample eachother to get out.. ..aside from that, the foods pretty good. , chiles not too hot but just right.and must say tasted homemade.. will definitely reorder for Carey out this time. The seats were way too close for my comfort ..if ur closterphobic this is def not the place to be !!

The food is always great here and on most days you can expect to wait to be seated but it is worth the wait. Parking is limited and there is nowhere to sit outside when you are waiting to be seated.

So good, stopped in as I passed through town and the at home environment mixed with the hard working staff made for a wonderful meal. And the whole thing was made complete by great burgers.
