Haven't been back in West Orange in 16 years - first place we came to.

Perfect. Workers were super friendly and that sandwich blew my mind.

I love their food especially the potatoes they put on the sandwiches.

If you haven't gotten an Italian hot dog at Jimmy's, you are missing out on a great dog!

Always wanted to come try this place out. Service was excellent and welcoming. Ordered a double combo. Omg looks and taste amazing. I will be back for sure.

Wow! So good! Very friendly staff. The potatoes are awesome. It's one of those old hole-in-the-wall gems. Barely any space to eat inside, but I think that's what gives it character.

Food is still awesome, and it's great that you can order online ahead of time. I just wish there were more seating. Otherwise I would still recommend for great eats.

The food is great, but when you dine in the restaurant, it is very hot . It needs an industrial fan that stays on, and the ac feels like hot air blowing out . Other than that, .great food

It was having an nostalgia going back home to a place that smell good and tastes good. Jimmy duff's is a old family business that everyone I know enjoy from the hot dogs to the sausage to the deep fried French fries, beautiful wax paper packaged And ready-to and-eat. I give it a 10 for being one of the best hotdog places in Jersey.

Italian hot dogs were okay, nothing special.

My wife and I drove from Southern Maryland to experience Jimmy Buff’s unique style of sandwiches. We saw a YouTube video and said “weekend trip”. My wife and I ordered the COMBO with hot dog and cheeseburger. The pita bread was soft and seasoned, the hot dog was equally flavorful and the stars were the potatoes and onions/peppers!!

I haven't had Jimmy Buff's in years since I moved away. I'm happy its still here. Hopefully it doesn't go anywhere. I ordered an italian cheeseburger. It wasn't your average italian cheeseburger like the chicken shack because the bread was different. But it was so good. The owner was there & so nice. Only think I would change is them allowing credit & debit card as payment. I know there's fees & stuff but it would be convenient for customers instead of having to order online while there.

Was greeted with a pleasant smile by cashier and cook. They gave me my extra mustard and ketchup, took the soda out of the refrigerator after my sandwich was prepared so it stayed cold. The serving was big. Lots of potatoes and onions and multicolored peppers with my hot dog. And it was not salty. As a heart and kidney patient I can still eat at Jimmy Buffs twice a week without getting salt saturated. I love ❤️ it!!!!

Decades of dominance in the hot dog world continues. It's hard to rate just the hot dog itself because it gets lost on the rest of the goodness. So with that said, Jimmy Buffs is definitely the Champion of the Italian Hot dog. I happend to go on a Throw Back Thursday and was able to score 2 for under $10. That's unheard of in 2024. I can't wait to go back for Scary Good Eats App segment.

The original Italian hot dog spot and a New Jersey staple. I eat here every time I visit home. Always get a double hot dog with everything a birch beer. A short drive to Eagle Rock reservation if you want to get it to go and have an epic picnic.

Worst food ever, they literally put chicken fingers/tenders now in their chicken sandwich, horrible. The chicken tenders were tough and lacking flavor. You can tell they're trying to skimp on product but this is not the right move.

Great hospitality we was short and the cook made sure we wasn't turned around he accommodated us with 1.25 and we was able to keep our order we didn't know it's a all cash transaction. Worth the drive and meal

All bread. Tiny hotdogs. Flavor is bland. Potatoes need seasoning or salt. Not my preference for a hotdog. I don't recommend this type of hotdog. If I was Italian, I wouldn't claim it... lol.

Always enjoy the food. Whenever I come back to Jersey, I always get my Italian double. Forgot it was cash only, so it delayed me getting my food because I had to order through the app. It was busy and a little chaotic, but never disappoints.

We ordered the Combo. It was perfect. The staff behind the counter was friendly and had a good sense of humor. I can be a little picky about my food, but the combo was exactly as requested. This is comfort food from my childhood, and I will definitely be returning!

Iconic Jimmy Buffs is not the same as it was. polite, yes expensive, yes. Cash only but don't worry there's a ATM outside the door. That cist me an additional $5. Says it charges $2.5. Nope $5. End of day, a lot of cash for hot dogs.

My daughter and I were very well taken care of. Our food was made fresh and the cook made sure we were seated comfortably. He took care of Everything. We were very grateful and left a very nice tip to show our appreciation. Of course the Jimmy Buff sandwich is all about the oil 😂 I can only eat one maybe every 6 months but when I do ... OHHHH Boyyyeeee ... I had a burger and my daughter had sausage. They were delicious. I definitely recommend this place. Like all Icons it's Priceless. It's a far cry from the original location in Newark,NJ on the corner of South 9th Street and 14th Avenue.

Jimmy buffs should be ashamed of themselves go back to the other chicken ya use to use 3skinpy tenders with more breading then meat inside of an already big bread with hell of potatoes I couldn't even find the chicken that's how skimpy they have gotten with the chicken my advise stay home cook it own food save it money not worth it anymore and so sad to be cause this use to be one of my favorite places to go and I mean favorite like weekly visit never again today just confirmed it I will not be going back 😑

A state staple. Got an Italian double and a hotdog single. Both were well made. I preferred the sausage because the of the combination of flavors. Bring cash. Service was incredible.

Friendly and kind service, Fat Tuesday Special with double hot dogs, onions, peppers, and potatoes was delicious and the price of a single. Ate in a cozy corner. Place wad packed. I rate this number #1 for NJ Hot Dog places! This place rocks! Will be back one day soon!

Just went there the other day and just like 20 years ago the food was fresh hot and delicious.

They don't change their gloves , they take them off and lay them on the counter then put them back on , and the cook is opening up the refrigerator with his gloves on and take out food with the hand that has no glove on. And then I saw him take a piece of bell pepper off a sandwich with the hand that was not covered... No food safety training at all... The food danger zone is between 40°-140° bacteria can grow and the human body temp is 96°-98° Something to think about... Enjoy your Italian hotdog..... To your reply.... Wow..... I hope this is not a manager or owner who replied with a response like that..  Instead of trying to correct the problem. I know if I see this , another customers see it. too. It's bad enough you don't wear hair nets. I've been in the business for a while I just see things that others may not see. Just by your response if I was to come to your store for the first time and talke to the person who commented on my post there still wouldn't be a change on how you handle food. Just by your comment (trying to bring your business down ).  You worried about the business ratings instead of food safety, because unsanitary practices or a foodborne illness that a customer catches from one of the employees would shut down your business for good so you shouldn't be worried about someone trying to bring down your business ratings you doing that on your own by unsanitary conditions and food safety. Where is the food handlers certification is should be posted on the wall. I seen a tub full of potatoes in water uncovered just standing in back kitchen. How long that been out just sitting there. And you worried about ratings.... Run your business correct before someone call the health department.

I went to Jimmy Buffett on Thursday and I got a single dog they gave me another hot dog for $1 on Thursday

Amazing Italian hot dogs. I used to go to the one in east hannover before they closed down. Visiting the original is a must. The way they cook them Is unique and so is the way they serve them. Definitely filling and you’ll probably need a nap afterwards. On Tuesdays the doubles go for the price of a single.

I've been going to Jimmy Buffs since 1975 and it's still the same today. Smells the same, taste the same. It's like the place is in a time capsule. If you haven't tried it, it's one of those places you have to try.

Good dogs. Very filling. A different type of hot dog with potatoes, mustard and ketchup on a really big bun.

I have not been to Jimmy Buff in 9yrs. It was delicious and I normally don't eat hot dogs. Every item was fresh onions peppers potatoes hot dogs it was a double and bread. No ketchup or mustard. Will return

First time! Heard of this place wasn’t expecting the items they had. They Didn’t help me to order took forever could barely understand English Was not good! It was dry and wouldn’t go Again. 👎The burger and potatos(uncooked) as combined sandwich. Wish they had at least fries and kids meals more variety

I went to Jimmy Buff’s on a Tuesday and didn’t know about the special. The cashier realized it was my first time at the establishment. He made sure I would return and I did. I ordered the chicken sandwich with cheese. It was so big I had lunch for the next day. The food was very flavorful. I found a new spot for the Tuesdays. I do not recommend staying to eat Order ahead and leave. It is located in a changing neighborhood. Plenty of parking. Clean, outdated tables and chairs. There is a family atmosphere with the staff. The food is prepared in front of you. I ordered a double hotdog. The bread was fabulous , I had it with onions and peppers, topped with potatoes. A fork is provided and is necessary to eat this deliciousness. I reminisced and ordered a Stewart's Root Beer. Tuesday and Thursday there are specials. A small staple establishment that has been around for years is definitely a place to experience. Senior citizen Approved
