By far, the pizza we have eaten in the area! Ordered Grandma’s pie which was perfectly crispy and very delicious! We will use his pizzeria again

The pizza is the best here. Really nice people who work here. We order from work and have slice deliver it. Crispy and delicious! I have also eaten inside and the place is so clean. Went there for a toddler birthday party and they got to make pizza..so much fun.

Upon entering the pizzeria, we were greeted by Sal who was very friendly and welcoming. We ordered a large plain pie and he brought it right to us, where we sat down. The sauce was delicious, not too sweet or sour.

Joe's Pizza will crush any pizza in Manhattan, his crust is the best, featured on Food Network from the other place he ran for years. Best Damn Pizza and now the least expensive in the area. Best pizza. Thin and flavorful

We wanted to eat at a Joe's Pizza on our way to Philadelphia from New York and we don't regret the detour at all. We ate great pizzas (I recommend Grandma's which is particularly good) and the team was really very pleasant (someone even spoke French!).

I get we are in NJ and not NY. Didn't expect the pizza to be just ok. Cheese is great, liked the garlic on the grandma pizza, sauce is good, but the crust really fell flat.

If you’re looking for great pizza, Joe’s makes it. Great crisp on the dough, but then super soft. The sauce is absolutely delicious and always the perfect ratio to the melted mozzarella. And if you get toppings, they somehow intertwine with the cheese and sauce so every bite is an eruption of flavor. The worst part about Joe’s is trying to get home without drowning in your own saliva from the mouth watering smell… Lastly, they’re just always incredibly friendly and take time to get to know you. It’s a great environment and incredible folks running the joint. I highly recommend this pizza joint/restaurant!!!

I was initially told about this place by my God-Brother. He had come here growing up since the 70's and raved about it. I was drawn to it by the sub $15/ 16 "pie price. This underrated pizzeria offers a spectacular pie for it's price, that you just can't eat one. 2 people can easily finish a single pie, and it goes down easy. Fresh slices are crisp, light, sauce has a good tang, and the cheese is a decent quality complementing the sauce. The owner is personable and lastly, "Hero's eat here." Nothing fancy. It's a good reflection of what a solid central jersey pizza is ( a standard of what a slice should be like in this region) and something that u'll crave. I RECOMMEND, EAT IT FRESH !

I hadn't ordered from here since it changed hands so finally decided to give it a try and was very disappointed. One pie was all pepperoni when it was supposed to be 1/2 cheese and there was no sauce included with the garlic knots. Mistakes happen so I'd normally give them another chance, but the pizza was bland, the crust soggy and it had very little sauce or cheese,. The garlic knots were average at best. Definitely nothing like the old Joe's.

This place is a gem. It's small but the food is fantastic. The pizza was delicious and the antipasto salad was fresh.

Regular pie was so salty, which means canned sauce, low quality cheese. The regular pie was orange which always means oily and salty. So salty. Crust was average/ not bad, could use more rise. Now the Sicilian Pie... I can't believe that they sell this disaster. I would be embarrassed if I was the owner. I mean this sincerely. The dough was absolutely 'PAR BAKED' which is a pre cooked crust and joes then adds the sauce and cheese when and order is placed and its thrown back into the oven a second time... If the owner reads this, you know this is true and yes some people can tell what you are doing here. The sauce and cheese was just sitting in chunks on top of that dry, thick, dry, bready 'crust' with no oil. The dense bread 'crust' had no semblance of cornicione, no air bubbles just a brick of heavy dense bread. The bread was so dense and bready simular to a Cinnabon or Wonderbread. 1) you have to reduce that salt, make fresh sauce or at least use a quality sauce product like Stanislaus or just store bought crushed san marzano salt and oil.. 2) cheese, I think that most of the salt and oil is coming from that lower grade cheese. Just use a better product. 3) you have to stop attempting to make what you call a Sicilian Pie, you really need to start over and DO NOT par bake the crust. People are paying for a fresh pie. Cmon..make it correctly. I hope that someone from Joe's reads this and they can improve. Especially with Lombardi right next door...

Fabulous local pizza in Martinsville! We got fast service with salad, chicken wings amd three great full sized pies.

Ate here three years ago when visiting family (we are from London). Made a point of coming back when we were over again. As good as I remembered. Thanks again for the great pizza Sal

I have been coming to Joe's since the early 1970's and it is now on its third owner. The pizza is still consistent and wonderful. I went in this evening for a Cheese and Sausage Calzone that the owner made fresh for me. It was like a small pizza folded over. The Calzone was huge and it was filled with ricotta, mozzarella and parmesan cheeses and a big handful of fried sausage. It could have fed two people but I managed to finish the whole thing myself. It was accompanied by a bowl of their delicious red sauce which is the same recipe they have been using for almost 50 years. It has such a nice blend of spices to taste. It was a wonderful meal that brought back a lot of memories for me. The owner is really nice and we just chatted for a bit about me visiting as a kid.

We travel a lot for softball and are picky with pizza. This place has delicious pizza, thin crust, great sauce, and quick service.

Joe’s Pizza is one of the towns true treasures. Sal is so welcoming and always has a smile when you stop in. My family has been and will always be a loyal customer. Keep those warm pies coming!

Passing by I saw this quaint little pizzeria. To my surprise, it was very good. The food was tasty and the atmosphere was adorable. The perfect quiet place to eat and relax.

The Crust is the star of the show here. Tough to Judge the sauce because there was not enough of it, but what was there was good. The cheese tasted like a mixed blend. They did a good job a a slight char with the crust which is a great accomplishment with a Bakers Pride oven. Its says there is a new Joe in town with new ownership.

Stopped in for a quick bite and I was not disappointed! The staff was very friendly and the service was quick. The plain slice had a nice, crispy base, awesome sauce, and great, salty cheese. Took a risk and ordered a margarita pizza with toppings. (Who orders s margarita pie with toppings?) Well, it was the absolute best pizza we have had having lived in Martinsville for the last 26+ years. The best hands down! Go to Joe's! Thank me later!

Happened to come across this place during a short road trip. The best pizza me and my family had in a long time. Place is small but family owned, very clean and well kept. Garlic knots and Coppa Stracciatella were awesome as well. We will definitely come back in the future.

A small family owned restaurant. Nice atmosphere. Very friendly and courteous. We ordered the house salad which was very good. We also ordered a small pizza pie with mushrooms and sausage. It didn't take very long for our pizza to come out. Pizza was very good.

In my last review we liked the pizza, we came back the pizza was ok the meatballs tasted bad, funny just off we picked them off, didn't save the rest, threw the pie out. Sorry to say would not recommend or return.

The Margarita Pizza is made with fresh ingredients. The dough is light and has a crispy crust.

The pizza here is the best! The sauce has so much flavor to it and made with fresh tomatoes. It really makes the pie. Even when the slices were warmed up for me they tasted so fresh. The new owners are really nice and have kept the recipes the same for the last forty years and if you came back from 1972, you would taste the same pizza. It is excellent!

I came into Joe’s with my stepdad while visiting from Denver. I met the owners there while I placed an order and waited for a large pie...they were such nice and pleasant people and you could feel the pride they had for their food - then came the masterpiece of a large plain pie (which is how I measure pizza places). I’ve got to say that when I envision phenomenal NJ pizza in my mind, it tastes like Joe’s. It couldn’t have been more delicious and it was also perfectly cooked. I plan on moving back to Jersey within the next 6 months and I can assure you that the pizza I’m coming for is Joe’s. Thanks for serving such delicious food

One is always guaranteed service with a smile whether the food is being picked up at the counter or delivered to our front door! Saturday night we ordered 2 large pies 1 cheese, 1 sausage, 1 large Pasta Fagoli soup and 1 large Lentil Soup, Garlic knots with sauce and a giant tossed salad. The pizza is always a hit because Sal has magical hands and makes every pie with love and precision. The garlic knots are awesome because the sauce has a kick to it. Everything is fresh and my boys love tooth soups. Give them a try you won't be disappointed!!!

Joe's has a new owner after 34 years of the old one retiring but rest assured the pizza still tastes the same. The new owner, Sal, has said that he plans to keep all the recipes the same and the pizza sauce still tastes the same since the original Joe had the restaurant since 1970. The pizza is still wonderful. This is a restaurant you should make a special trip to Martinsville for lunch or dinner. The food is wonderful and Sal seems like a nice guy. I will have to visit again soon.

Good place that doesn't get overly crowded. The slices didn't wow me, and the slices they have ready are very spare, but I had a calzone that was very very good.

Love Joe's Pizza. Some of the best pizza I've had - thin crust, great sauce. And the pasta and other dishes are also fabulous. Our family favorites include the lasagna, puttanesca (spicy with lots of anchovies), broccoli cavatelli and garlic knots. Joe and his family have a great pizzeria - Highly recommended.

I have been coming here since I was a kid and I visit Joe's when I am in town. They still make the best pizza. I have been eating here since the original Joe owned it and now that the second Joe and his son own it (since 1985), the pizza is still top notch. I came with an old friend who had worked in Bridgewater and had never eaten here and she was very impressed by the pizza. As Joe's son said, they have not changed a thing with the menu. Everything is homemade and is delicious. The pizza is well cooked and the sauce is very flavorful. The right amount of spices are used and it shows in the quality. They put on plenty of sausage and the pizza cooked well. Ours could have been taken out a few minutes earlier but it was still excellent. If you like that old time feel of a restaurant with excellent food and service, Joe's pizza is a step back when people relaxed and enjoyed their lunch.

We chose Joe's because the weather was bad and did not want to drive too far. We have a choice of four different pizza restaurants within a block or two radius and wanted to give them a try. We ordered three different pies for a gathering with friends and all were excellent. The crust was crunchy which everyone liked and they used plenty of toppings. Definitely will be back!

Joe's Pizza has recently celebrated its 30th anniversary. For 30 years Joe and his family have been making the best pizza in Somerset County. Since my family and I moved to Martinsville in 2000 I haven't tried other places, because why bother if Joe's is just around the corner and it is open every day. Joe is 100% Itlalian. A very hard working man who before he opened his pizza joint had been making bread and had his own bread store in Bound Brook, NJ. There is a secret why his pizza is so good - he makes the best crust. There are multiple pizza varieties on the menu, as well as salads, subs and soups. All food is home made right in front of you. Joe makes his own wine and you need to be a long time patron of the place to get a taste. Try their pizza with their "secret" tomato sauce, fresh mozzarella, basil, and garlic. Or their white pie with an extra creamy ricotta. Or the one with eggplant, tomato sauce and ricotta. Can't afford not to mention the one with Italian sausage, peppers and onions. Stop by and get hooked.

We moved to Bridgewater in 1967 and we had ordered pizza from Joe's under both the original owner and the new Joe from that time until 1981 when we moved from the area. I still kept coming back after high school and college and now occasionally get down to Bridgewater every once in a while. The pizza has not changed and is still the amazing pizza I had as a kid. The new Joe's son is now helping run the business and it was nice talking to him. One bite of the pizza and it brought me back to being a kid again riding my bike with my friends to get a slice back in the 70's and 80's. The prices are still very fair. I had a slice, a half a meatball sub and a coke for $9.00. Talk about fair. The meatballs were homemade and had a nice garlicky taste to them. You could tell they were homemade. They were nicely sized too. Their sauces and their meatballs are still made by hand and still excellent. Their sauce has such a nice flavor. Just by talking to the owner and one bite of pizza brought back so many good memories for me. I defiantly recommend coming to Martinsville (as this section of Bridgewater is called) and stop by for a pizza. It still is excellent after over 50 years.

This pizza place has been successful for decades. From the orginal Joe and the "pizza war" through a succession of owners, the restaurant and pizza parlor was known for the best pizza around. No one minded calling and getting a pick up number and waiting 45 minutes to pick it up. Haven't been there in 6 months, and it wasn't worth the trip. To call this 1/4 inch high, dried out, hard tasteless thing was more a piece of cardboard than an item of food. If there was any cheese, it must have been the tiny, hard yellow polka dots. Since it could just have been a bad night, I'll try again in a few weeks and, hopefully, I'll have a reason to write a bettrr review.

We love Joe's pizza. Nice thin crust. Not too much sauce, and just the right of cheese. His specialty pizzas are all great. Try the zucchini pie. Excellent! Everything at Joe's is good. Cant have a bad meal here.
